What if you were Misdiagnosed?
from Trauma Recovery Anonymous · host richiejtierney
What if you were misdiagnosed? What if you are one of the 390 million people misdiagnosed with a mental disorder? What if you are suffering from a trauma that isn't yours to suffer? If you have been in therapy for more than one year If you have been with more than one therapist If you have been on multiple medications causing a chemical imbalance in your whole system What if the only thing that is changing isn't your wellness, but your condition is evolving, from ptsd to complex ptsd or from depression to acute bipolar depression? Only you can ask these questions for you. But working with any medical professional, the goal is to heal, isn't it? It doesn't make sense to me, especially in the case of veterans. You, who chose to volunteer to fight for liberty and the protection of the innocent, you would have been psych-evaluated to determine you were not a crazed war-mongering soul, hell-bent on mayhem and murder. To suggest that, after suffering the horrors of war, you are the mentally ill one, that you have a mental disorder; that is the crazy part that everyone seems to have been conditioned to believe makes the most sense . Your inner child, that 18 /19 year old younger version of you who enlisted, they were the victim of that conflict. I assume we can agree they were not the perpetrator of the trauma. You today, you are not that younger version of you; you are not that victim, meaning you can't also be the perpetrator, and as such you are a completely different version of that person, in their future; the survivor looking back at their experiences. The fact that you are the survivor today; neither the victim of the event nor the perpetrator, far removed, now the survivor looking back; you are the phoenix risen from the ashes of what your inner child went through for you, so you would have a life today beyond their wildest dreams. How can you be diagnosed as being mentally ill, or having a mental disorder? None of it makes sense. A mental health professional can only offer you a mental health solution, and if you come to them for help or assistance, they will do their best for you. But what if you had a spiritual illness that was eating away at you and manifesting with stinking thinking and faulty feelings? What if you have a hole in your soul? It might present with all sorts of beliefs, thoughts, actions, and feelings, but they would be the Effect and not the Cause. Doesn't that make more sense? This, I believe, is a much-needed conversation that is required between you and your therapist to determine if, in fact, you were misdiagnosed. #healinganypasttraumamemory #traumarecoveryanonymous bookings for 3 hour healing events at: [email protected]
