Click here to buy.Sr. Catherine Holum, CFR grew up in a Catholic home in Wisconsin spending most of her childhood at the ice rink where her mother was a speedskating coach. During middle school and high school, she competed on a national and international level with the U.S. Speedskating team. Sr. Catherine first felt a call to be a sister while on a pilgrimage to Fatima at age sixteen. A year later she competed in the 1998 Winter Olympic Games in speedskating, placing 6th in the 3000 m. and 7th in the 5000 m. Deciding to pursue a degree in art instead of a future in sports, she studied photography at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Following her graduation in 2002, she did a pro-life walk across America which brought her to World Youth Day in Toronto. Her call to religious life which she received in Fatima as a teenager was rekindled that summer. Following a year of prayerful discernment, Sr. Catherine entered the Franciscan Sisters of the Renewal in 2003 and professed final vows in 2010 in the Bronx, NY.
