3Spoonies On Intrusive and Inclusive Technology
3Spoonies Episode Number 55, 14th May 2026 With Karen Duncan, Jo O’Neil and Claire Napper In this episode we’re talking about inclusive vs intrusive technology — and asking an important question: When does “accessible” technology stop supporting people… and start crossing boundaries? As technology becomes more embedded in everyday life — from AI tools and monitoring systems to workplace software and assistive tech — it’s often introduced in the name of inclusion. But good intentions don’t always result in good outcomes. We also talk about the emotional and practical impact of intrusive technology — from increased stress and fatigue to loss of privacy and independence — and why accessibility should never come at the cost of dignity. This episode challenges the idea that more tech automatically equals better access and asks what truly inclusive technology should look like when it’s designed with people, not imposed on them. 3Spoonies Episode Number 54.5, 7th May 2026 With Karen Duncan , Jo O’Neil and Claire Napper In this community questions episode, we answer your real questions about adaptive clothing, sensory needs, and accessibility in fashion. Adaptive clothing is often talked about in theory — but this episode focuses on what actually matters in everyday life. Drawing directly from questions sent in by our community, we explore the realities of getting dressed when clothes aren’t designed with disabled, chronically ill, or neurodivergent bodies in mind. We also discuss the emotional and practical impact of clothing that doesn’t work — from frustration and fatigue to confidence and self-expression — and why accessibility in fashion isn’t about special treatment, but good design. 3Spoonies Episode Number 54, 30th April 2026 With Karen Duncan, Jo O’Neil and Claire Napper In this episode of 3Spoonies, we’re talking about adaptive clothing — what it is, why it matters, and why clothing access is about dignity, independence, and energy, not just fashion. Adaptive clothing is often treated as niche, medical, or optional. But for disabled people, chronically ill people, and neurodivergent people, what we wear can affect how we feel about ourselves. This episode isn’t about trends or “inspiration”. It’s about the reality of getting dressed when your body doesn’t fit the assumptions clothing is designed around. We answer real community questions about how to explain to clients that “just a quick message” can be a big interruption, especially for neurodivergent business owners and people with limited energy or capacity. We recognise the immense love and effort authors invest in their work, and we believe they deserve a break during the next phases of their publishing journey. That's why we take on the production responsibilities, allowing authors to concentrate on what they truly enjoy—whether that’s writing their next story, managing their other job, or simply resting and recovering. Our catalogue spans a diverse array of genres, including children's literature, science fiction, romance, and poetry. In addition to traditional books, we produce and sell audiobooks and videobooks, and we have recently begun listing our audiobooks on Spotify and Audible. Not only do we manage the production of our authors’ works, but we also promote and sell their titles alongside those of other authors. Furthermore, we support small businesses by offering their book-related products for sale. If you share a passion for reading or writing, we are here to assist you. We even offer an affiliate programme that allows you to promote our books and earn a commission. Check out our website for more info: www.greencatbooks.com Would you like to buy us a coffee?
