and THAT's a pod convo
by John Jacob
Welcome to #andTHATSaPodConvo We aren’t your therapists, but with our wild takes on pop culture, sports, and the “piping hot” local or “organic” tea, we might as well be. Consider this your official invitation to the conversations that happen at 2 AM, or after a round of drinks, or ULTIMATELY - you weren’t supposed to overhear. and THAT’s another couple of gays with a pod Look, we know. The world probably didn’t need two more queer men with microphones, but after the thousandth time we said, “Man, if we would have recorded that, it would’ve been a goldmine,” we realized we were doing the public a disservice. So... we finally hit record.

Ep 7: Who We Are Now, Who We’ve Always Been, Who We Will Always Be 🌈
The final chapter of our Pride Series is here.Joined by Ryan Oelrich, we talk about religion, identity, marriage, finding yourself, sword swallowing (yes, the literal kind… and unfortunately the other kind too), and the winding road it takes to become comfortable in your own skin.Over the last five episodes, we’ve explored what it means to be LGBTQ+ through the lens of P.R.I.D.E. — Pretending, Realizing, Identifying, Defining, and finally, Evolving. Together we’ve unpacked closets, survival mode, healing, chosen family, and the moments that shaped us into who we are today. For the first time this series, Jed and John Jacob answer the question: What does Pride actually mean to us?And maybe the answer isn’t found in a parade, a rainbow flag, or even the month of June.Because when Pride Month ends, there are still eleven other months left in the year. LGBTQ+ people don’t disappear when the decorations come down. We’ve been here long before we had labels for ourselves. We’ve existed in every generation, every culture, every community, and we’ll be here long after we’re gone. This episode is a reminder that while progress has been made, there are still places where our existence is criminalized, where our rights are limited, and where being ourselves comes with a cost. Even in our own backyards, there are people who would prefer we be quieter, smaller, easier to ignore. But we refuse to make ourselves smaller because the cage is small. This is a conversation about growth, authenticity, resilience, and the beautiful reality that who we are now, who we’ve always been, and who we will always be are all worthy of love.Happy Pride. And THAT’s a Pride Convo. 🌈Send us Fan MailRobert Thompson's TedTalk: Dragging Your Identity into Something Fabulous

Ep 6: and THAT's Healing... unfortunately 🌈
Welcome back to and THAT’s a Pride Convo. This week, we're tackling the part of Pride nobody really warns you about: healing... unfortunately. After spending years pretending, realizing, identifying, surviving, and figuring out who we are, we're finally asking the hard questions. What habits keep sneaking back into our lives? How do we forgive younger versions of ourselves? Are boundaries protecting us, or are we pushing people away? And why does healing somehow feel like the most necessary thing we've ever hated?Between surprisingly deep conversations, a few emotional moments, Yelp reviews for personal growth, and more sexual innuendos than a healing journey probably requires, this quickly became the deepest episode we've recorded in the Pride Series.Because healing isn't always beautiful. Sometimes it's messy. Sometimes it's uncomfortable. Sometimes it's hilarious. And sometimes it's all three at the exact same time.So grab a seat, grab a tissue, grab a therapist, and join us for and THAT’s healing... unfortunately.Send us Fan MailRobert Thompson's TedTalk: Dragging Your Identity into Something Fabulous

Ep 5: and THAT's Survival Mode 🌈
This week, Jed and John Jacob are fresh off Pride Weekend and asking the important questions: Are our toxic traits actually personality traits? Why are fish photos still happening on dating apps? And who decided group photos belong in a Tinder profile? From flip phones and moving out for the first time to validation seeking, hyper-independence, trust issues, and whether the apps helped or hurt, the boys unpack the survival mechanisms they've picked up along the way—and the ones they're still trying to leave behind.Plus, the return of and THAT's 1 Thing Straight & 2 Things Gay, where listeners write in looking for advice on dating, self-worth, vulnerability, and the complicated art of letting people in.Come for the Pride stories. Stay for the emotional growth, dating app grievances, and the realization that maybe we're all just trying our best....and THAT's a pod convo.Instagram: @AndTHATsApodConvoPatreon: https://www.patreon.com/c/andTHATsaPodConvoTikTok: andthatsapodconvo_1Send us Fan MailRobert Thompson's TedTalk: Dragging Your Identity into Something Fabulous

Ep 4: and THAT's not JUST a phase. 🌈
🌈 and THAT's not JUST a phase. 🌈For Episode 2 of and THAT's a PRIDE convo, we're joined by Anthony, Momo, and Lizette to talk about the signs, the denial, the phases, and the moments that made us stop and say, "oh..."Anthony delivers some of the most clip-worthy moments of the series, Momo helps us unpack the idea of phases and self-discovery, and Lizette does what any good friend in the group chat does—accidentally turns the conversation into therapy.Along the way, we talk crushes, labels, realization stories, and the pressure of having everything figured out.And yes, there were technical difficulties. Mics cut out, audio got a little chaotic, and at times technology reminded us who's really in charge. But honestly? It wouldn't be a gay podcast without at least one avoidable technical issue. The audio may not be perfect, but the stories are real.Welcome back to the group chat. 🌈☕️🎙️Send us Fan MailRobert Thompson's TedTalk: Dragging Your Identity into Something Fabulous

Ep 3: and THAT's Cruising, Grande, TS, & Horror 🚢🎤🧸
🚢✨ DOUBLE DROP ALERT ✨🚢This week, we're giving you two episodes because apparently one conversation wasn't enough. We're talking about Jed's latest cruise adventures, Ariana Grande's new music, and the Taylor Swift x Toy Story crossover that we are entirely here for. We also discuss whether Taylor might be dropping subtle hints at a return to her country roots, because naturally we have thoughts. From there, we spiral into Disney movies, horror films, and all the random tangents in between. It's one of those episodes where we start with a plan and immediately abandon it.So whether you're here for pop culture, Disney nostalgia, scary movies, or just two friends attempting to stay on topic, pull up a seat and join the group chat.Because sometimes the best conversations are the ones that make absolutely no sense on paper....and THAT's a pod convo. ☕️🎙️Send us Fan MailRobert Thompson's TedTalk: Dragging Your Identity into Something Fabulous

Ep 2: and THAT's a VERY Loud Closet 🌈
For the first episode of and THAT's a PRIDE convo, we're joined by Robert "Robbie" Thompson for a conversation about closets, performances, and the versions of ourselves we created long before we knew who we were.We talk about the signs we ignored, the roles we played, and the idea that maybe we're all born naked and the rest is drag. Because whether you're LGBTQ+ or not, most people spend some part of their life performing for someone else. From suspicious celebrity crushes and "totally straight" hobbies to deeper conversations about identity, authenticity, and taking back ownership of the word closet, this episode is funny, honest, emotional, and surprisingly relatable.Because sometimes the closet wasn't quiet at all.It was VERY loud. 🌈☕🎙️Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/posts/and-thats-very-160564109?utm_medium=clipboard_copy&utm_source=copyLink&utm_campaign=postshare_creator&utm_content=join_linkSend us Fan MailRobert Thompson's TedTalk: Dragging Your Identity into Something Fabulous

Well… after only one official episode, Josh is no longer with us.No, seriously. Gone. Vanished. Taken by the podcast gods. Thoughts and prayers. 🕯️So naturally, we did what any emotionally stable podcast would do and immediately replaced him. Enter ... well you will fnd out — their qualifications?Obviously their resume includes trauma, chaotic opinions, and the ability to survive a group chat. This week on and THAT’s a pod convo we spiral through:💚 and THAT’s Shrek’s 25th anniversaryBecause somehow Shrek shaped an entire generation emotionally, spiritually, and romantically.👯 and THAT’s iconic duosBest friend dynamics, chaotic pairings, and what truly makes two people insufferable together.🥛 and THAT’s food intoleranceAt what point does your stomach become your biggest opp?❤️ and THAT’s your typeRed flags, green flags, dating delusions, and the horrifying realization that sometimes your “type” is just emotional instability with good eyebrows.📱 Plus another round of and THAT’s 1 thing Straight & 2 things Gay — where we answer advice/questions that absolutely should’ve stayed in the group chat. It’s messy.
