Fixing the Drainage Flow | S3 E7: How the City is Fighting Flooding

If you’ve lived in Southeast Texas for any time at all, you know we get a lot of rain here! In fact, Beaumont gets about twice the annual amount of rainfall seen by the rest of the nation. And with all that water, unfortunately, of course, comes flooding and drainage issues not seen by other parts of the nation as well. That can create some challenges, so it’s important to have someone super qualified to handle all these issues.  And that person for the city of Beaumont is our Public Works Director, Molly Villarreal. She’s talking about what The City is doing to help alleviate some of these issues for our citizens.ResourcesRegister for STAN Southeast Texas Alerting NetworkRegister for STEAR – State of Texas Emergency Assistance Registry Report Issue to 311, Dial 311, or Email [email protected] in the Park: Free Admission, Family Friendly, lawnchairs and blankets are welcomed.
