Do this in remembrance of me.’ 25 In the same way he took the cup also, after supper, saying, ‘This cup is the new covenant in my blood. Message InformationScripture - John 12:12-19Is Jesus the king we wanted, or the king we got? In the narrative we have Jesus, riding into Jerusalem to shouts of Hosanna, but as we prepare to journey through this week, we know those shouts will change. Why is the “good news” truly hard to hear? Why do we push back against it when it is in front of us, when we see it in action? Our King is coming. Check out this sermon as Jesus continues this distinction between the physical and the spiritual. As he walks into the temple, he notices all of the things happening inside of it. Seeing many of these things angers him and he turns the tables. Second Sunday of AdventScriptures: Isaiah 40:1-11, Mark 1:1-8Amidst the chaos of the world, we are called to peace and comfort. When we look around creation we often see the worst of what humanity has to offer. However, we are called through Christ as beacons of peace. Not a peace that gives us the power to lord over others, but a peace that creates space for all persons and recognizes their humanity.
