Boldly Becoming You Podcast

The Boldly Becoming You Podcast is your bi-weekly invitation to become who you were born to be. Underneath the layers of rules and expectations you have adopted over your lifetime, in an effort to connect and be accepted, you've lost much of who you were when you entered this world. Twice a week I will call on you to answer that whisper from your inner wisdom that you have been shushing for years and begin the redesign of your life.On Mondays I'll share truths about the human experience and highlight opportunities to deepen your connection to yourself so you can show up in all areas of your life in full alignment and with a meaningful impact. In these brief episodes, you will be reminded of your responsibility to yourself to become the person you have always wanted to be.On Thursdays, I'll introduce you to people who have lived both lives - the one where they agreed to what others expected of them, following the same arbitrary rules we all agreed to AND then had the courage to fina

    Ep 243 Profit Over Perfectionism

If you've ever rewritten a sales email eleven times, let a brilliant content idea rot in your notes app, or word-vomited through an entire discovery call trying to prevent a question nobody asked yet, this episode is going to make a lot of things click. The sales email you can't send, the post you can't publish, the price you over-explained before anyone complained, that's not a discipline problem or a character flaw. That's your nervous system doing exactly what it learned to do under high stakes. And in business, every income-producing activity can feel like high stakes. We get into the four specific flavors of perfectionism that show up in business, including the sneaky one that high achievers almost never recognize in themselves, and why knowing about them isn't enough to change them. This episode is especially a must-listen if you're a coach, healer, or service provider who knows what they're doing, shows up for every client, and still can't figure out why the business side keeps feeling like crap. Make sure to register for our free Profit Over Perfectionism Workshop, on June 30th at 10 AM PST, DM us the word PROFIT on Instagram or Facebook and we'll send you the link.

242: Why We'd Never Trade This Season (Even Though We're Exhausted)

The last two weeks were a lot, demanding but the good kind of hard, the kind you actually work toward for years. If you've ever looked at your life and thought, I am doing everything right and I am still completely wrecked, why is this so hard? Push play now. Brandon and I pulled back the curtain on what it actually looks like to run a business, show up for your kids, navigate your own health, and try to take care of yourself all at the same time, without pretending any of it was graceful. There's something we talk about in this episode that I don't think gets enough airtime: the moment you realize a goal you've been holding onto has to go on the shelf for a bit, not because you failed, but because something bigger needed your WHOLE attention. And what happens in your nervous system when you finally let yourself do that. Brandon gets real about something he's been quietly navigating for a long time, and why taking it seriously right now is one of the hardest things he's done, harder, he says, than getting sober.  We talk about what it costs to add one new thing to a life that's already full, why "just do the healthy thing" is some of the most tone-deaf advice on the planet, and what it actually looks like to make decisions from your values instead of your anxiety when your CLC score is through the roof. This one's raw and if you're a high-achieving entrepreneur trying to figure out how to not lose your shit, or yourself while your life is actively demanding everything you've got, we get it. 241: Why Summer Keeps Derailing Your Business

You're running a business through summer while managing a complex life, and you're already anxious about the next three months, the guilt, the interrupted routines, the pressure to be present everywhere at once and have the MOST fun ever? Push play now.  You've felt like this about summer for years because no one told us this 3 months needs a completely different plan than the rest of the year AND one built for your actual capacity.  Brandon and I dig into why desire and capacity are not the same thing, why your nervous system regulation practice is always the first thing to go when the schedule gets unpredictable, and how to build a summer that moves your business forward without showing up to September like you survived a natural disaster. Consistent doesn't have to mean rigid, and a good summer doesn't have to mean you abandoned yourself to have one.  For the entrepreneur who wants to show up for their life and their business this summer, without holding their breath that they didn't enough of the "right" things in either one - make sure you call all 3 specific tips. DM CLC score on Instagram or Facebook and they'll send you the free PDF so you can find out where you land. 240. High Achiever Burnout: What Complex Life Circumstances Actually Cost You in Business

If your life is genuinely more complicated than most business advice was built for, this episode is going to feel like someone finally said it out loud. We get into what it actually looks and feels like to run a business when you're managing chronic illness, a neurodivergent brain, kids with their own CLCs, unpredictable energy, and a body that doesn't operate the way the productivity world assumes everyone's body operates. Because nobody talks about this: the more Complex Life Circumstances you're carrying, the more invisible labor you're doing every single day before you even open your laptop. And most of the burnout advice out there was never built for the math of your real life In this episode, we talk about: What Complex Life Circumstances actually are and why the stack matters more than any one thing on its own Why it feels so much harder for you than you think it should, and why that's not you being dramatic The real cost of not accounting for your CLCs in your business decisions (we've lived this) What changes when you stop pretending your life and body operate like someone who doesn't have your CLCs Capacity-based decisions, client load limits, and why fewer offers is often the smarter move The ripple effect of unpredictable energy on your relationships, date nights, family plans, the guilt loop Why acknowledging your CLCs is not the same as complaining about them The homework: pick one CLC this week and just watch where it's showing up and how it impacts other parts of life and business, no judgment This episode comes with a listener homework assignment and a free CLC checklist. DM us "CLC checklist" at @rulesandrebellion and we'll send it to you. Ep 239: Why You're Still Exhausted After Doing All the Right Things

Your business problem probably isn't a business problem. That's where we start this episode If you've bought the programs, followed the frameworks, tried to stay consistent, and you're still hitting the same wall... the issue was misdiagnosed from the start.  What looks like a strategy problem, a consistency problem, or a mindset problem is almost always a dysregulated nervous system problem. And no amount of content calendars or launch plans is going to fix that. They get into all of it in this episode - including what it actually took for them to stop pouring money into the wrong solution, what was really happening those years they couldn't get themselves to complete the last 20% of every program they bought, and why "doing it scared" and "doing it terrified" are two completely different things that the business coaching world consistently fails to distinguish.   In this episode: Why your business problem is probably a nervous system regulation problem - and how to tell the difference The misdiagnosis that costs burned-out entrepreneurs thousands of dollars and years of momentum What happened when Tasha and Brandon finally got regulated enough to stop buying programs and start actually using them The 20% of tasks you keep avoiding - and what's actually behind that pattern Why you can't fix your messaging, your content, or your launch strategy from a dysregulated nervous system How chronic illness, ADHD, and complex life circumstances completely change what "doing the work" looks like - and why most programs are built for people who don't have any of those things The four perfectionism patterns that keep high-achieving entrepreneurs stuck in survival mode A real example from inside The Unshakeable Entrepreneur of how nervous system regulation rippled into a client's health, her business, and her capacity to finally advocate for herself with her doctor Download the Four Perfectionism Patterns guide in the show notes to start identifying which stress response patterns are showing up in your business — and what to do about them. Ep 238 ADHD & Goal Setting: Why the Rules Were Never Built for Your Brain

If you've tried every productivity system out there and still feel like you're failing at your own goals, this episode is for you. Tasha sits down with ADHD coach, Bianca Faricy, to get real about why neurotypical goal-setting frameworks don't work for ADHD brains, what burnout recovery actually looks like when you're neurodivergent, and how emotion-first goal setting changes everything. From This Episode: Bianca got her ADHD diagnosis at 47, burned out of a 25-year teaching career, and rebuilt her life from scratch. Here's what she and Tasha unpack: Why ADHD goal-setting is a completely different game than what you've been taught How a lifetime of masking disconnects you from knowing what you actually want The problem with discipline and willpower-based goals for high-achieving entrepreneurs What emotion-first goal setting looks like in practice Why "self-sabotage" isn't real - and what's actually happening when you hit a wall How nervous system regulation is the missing piece in your goal-achievement strategy Why ADHDers are ambitious as hell and just need the right tools The shame of feeling behind, and how to stop letting it run the show How boundaries for business owners are built on nervous system capacity, not willpower Links & Resources Connect with Bianca: http://www.biancafaricycoach.com   Follow Bianca on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/biancafaricyadhd/   Boldly Becoming You Workshop: https://www.rulesandrebellion.com/boldlybecomingyou  Book a clarity call: https://calendly.com/tashaskillin/clarity-call-30 Follow us on Instagram: @rulesandrebellion

Ep 237: Draft Mode, Dead Weight CLCs, and Why Your Goals Are Already Happening

We're BACK. It's been about nine months since our last episode and Tasha is on day 21 of her cycle so… buckle up. In this episode, Tasha and Brandon get real about what it actually looks like to re-enter something you love after a long pause, why getting crystal clear on who you're talking to changed everything for their business, and how the life you've been dreaming about is probably closer than you think → you're just not clocking it. In this episode: Why they stopped recording (and what finally got them back) hint: Instagram Lives were the baby step into podcasting again The truth about showing up in your luteal phase energy (and why it's actually a superpower, not a liability) How getting obsessively clear on their ideal client set them free from trying to help everyone - aka stop trying to save your mom The "evidence collection" method that rewires your brain to see how close you already are to your goals BIG identity shifts and the actions that come with them: waking up at 5:30am, no phone before 6am Updating your Complex Life Circumstances (CLCs) - and why Brandon realized he was still operating on an old stress response that no longer applied Why talking about your pain and struggle on repeat is keeping you and your audience stuck The AM/PM routine that keeps Tasha grounded through every phase of her cycle and perimenopause The Bold Becoming You Workshop (happening April 25 & 26!) - link below  The homework from this episode: Write out your ideal Tuesday (workday) AND your ideal Saturday (day off).  Get specific: What are you waking up excited about? Ep 236 Nervous System Regulation in 5 Min or Less

In this episode, we break down the most foundational practice in our entire framework, and answer the question almost every client starts with: "I know I need nervous system regulation… but how the fuck do I actually do that with the life I have?!" We talk about why NSR is not just for the meltdown moments, how it quietly transforms your relationship with productivity, parenting, partnerships, and purpose, and how Brandon went from never regulating to knowing with full-body certainty that he'll never drink again. We touch on: Why 30–60 seconds of nervous system regulation might be more life-changing than 30 minutes What happened when Brandon finally felt his feelings, after 18 years of numbing The trap of "doing it right" and how it keeps perfectionists stuck Four micro NSR techniques you can do literally anywhere (yes, even in a meeting) Why consistency isn't the goal, capacity is What two clients in totally different life stages (30 and 60) had in common with burnout, dread, and the exact same NSR win after 4 weeks Plus, we unpack the real reason so many smart, high-achieving people don't start NSR (hint: if you've ever said "I don't need it right now," this one's for you). Whether you're bedbound like Tasha was, burnt out like Jane was, or just stuck in the doom-scroll loop like Della, we've got you. ✨ Ready to start regulating in 5 minutes or less? Ep 235 Your Complex Life Circumstances (CLCs)

In this episode, we unpack the #1 reason you keep thinking you're the problem when you're not: complex life circumstances and how integrating them instead of ignoring them changes everything about how you work, parent, rest, and relate. We talk about the patterns we didn't even know were patterns: Tasha wondering why she could build empires one week and collapse the next, Brandon's years of overfunctioning while feeling like nothing was ever enough, and the quiet shame spiral of why can't I just do this thing that almost everyone in our community knows by heart. We touch on: The actual definition of Complex Life Circumstances (CLCs) and why this one lens can explain burnout, inconsistency, and the inability to "just push through" How masking, overachieving, chronic dysregulation, and trauma conditioning show up differently based on gender, race, disability, and neurodivergence Why routines, habits, and productivity hacks fail when they're not built around your real life and what to do instead The real reason you feel guilt when resting and how to stop abandoning yourself in moments of low energy, pain, or overstimulation How your relationships (especially with partners, clients, and kids) have to evolve when you start being honest about your capacity What happened when Brandon realized he didn't even want a damn plate and what that metaphor has to do with freedom, caregiving, and rest This episode includes the 10-finger CLC exercise (to get your Complex Life Circumstance score), and a powerful reminder: you're not broken…you're just operating in a world that refuses to account for who you actually are. Ep 234 Cycle-Syncing Changed Everything

In this episode, we unpack one of the most wildly underutilized tools for business, parenting, and being human with a uterus: cycle syncing and how it completely changed the way we work, connect, and rest. We talk about Tasha's 20+ year pattern of crushing it one week and crumbling the next, Brandon trying to decode moods like a foreign language, and the honest truth about why routines haven't stuck (and probably never will) if you're ignoring your cycle. We touch on: How your brain, energy, and confidence can shift up to 25% each month and why that matters more than any other routine. What happened when Tasha stopped calling herself inconsistent and started listening to what her biology was asking for. Why the world still expects you to operate like a small man with a 24-hour clock and how that's ruining your relationship with your own body. A real story of Tasha thinking she was a fraud (again)… and how knowing her cycle made that spiral mean absolutely nothing. Ready to sync your life and routines to your actual body? Ep 233 What If You're Not Doing It Wrong? And it's not bad?

In this episode, we pull back the curtain on one of the foundational tools we use with our clients across Unshakeable You, Phoenix Rising, Bootcamp and The Village: our deceptively simple "Wins, Effective/Ineffective, and Questions" check-in.  We talk about what we're rewatching, orthorexia and the clean eating rabbit hole, your grandmother's apple pie (and why Brandon says it can't be the best) You'll hear: Why labeling things "good" or "bad" might be killing your creativity and momentum. How "maladaptive coping" (hi cigarettes, doomscrolling, productivity spirals) is often just your body's attempt to stay alive, and maybe even deserves a trophy. How your cycle phase might be the real reason you thought that project, person, or plan sucked. A real-time story of our teenager dragging us for our financial choices… then un-dragging us with shocking emotional maturity. We ask questions like: What actually counts as a win (and who decided what counts)? Why is "just thinking about it" part of the process? How do you know if something was ineffective… or if you were just doing it in the wrong phase of your cycle? Can you celebrate a "bad" coping strategy and want something better next time? What's the difference between emotional dysregulation and eating snacks in the garage? Ep 232 What do you want?

What do I want???? Whether you're deep in burnout, running on autopilot, or just feeling disconnected from yourself after years of being useful to everyone else… I get it. This episode walks you through the 5 mistakes that keep so many of us stuck in survival mode, waiting for clarity that doesn't come and the first 3 steps to figuring out what you actually want. Where you gently unhook from urgency, listen to your nervous system, and stop trying to solve your life like a math problem. Here's what we get into: The biggest lie about "clarity" that keeps high-achievers spinning Why your body needs to access that truth And why desire isn't a luxury, it's a survival skill If you've been trying to "figure it out" but everything just feels heavy, uncertain, or like too much work, it's not you. You're not broken. You just haven't been taught how to do this in a way that actually works for your life. Ep 231 Discipline vs Capacity

In this episode, we unpack what's actually going on when you "can't stay consistent," and why burnout, chronic stress, and your Complex Life Circumstances (CLCs) keep you stuck in a loop that discipline alone will never solve. We dig into: Why discipline only works after you've built capacity The sneaky ways internalized capitalism, ableism, and childhood conditioning show up in your day What your body, your flare-ups, your freeze response, and your avoidance are really trying to tell you Why being "too tired to function" or "constantly behind" is not a personal failure and what it really means How to tell if you're living from survival mode (even if everything looks fine from the outside) You'll hear real examples from our own lives, from our clients, and from people just like you who thought they had a discipline problem, but were actually overdue for a total capacity recalibration. By the end of this conversation, we're asking better questions: What do I want and what do I need ... today? What's actually mine to carry? How can I build a life and business that supports my reality, not just my ambition? If you've been forcing, pushing, and blaming yourself for not "doing it right" - this episode is your permission slip to stop performing and start restoring. Is This What Regulation Is Supposed to Feel Like?

In this episode we dig into: What actually happens when you stop living in survival mode and your nervous system finally chills the fuck out? Spoiler: it's weirder than you think. Having time doesn't mean you magically know how to enjoy it. Sometimes the pause feels like a loss you didn't see coming. The very real tension between finally having space to create and just wanting to nap, zone out, or do absolutely nothing. Your brain isn't reacting to the moment, it's predicting based on old chaos and current circumstances which means sometimes you kinda short-circuit. Being regulated doesn't mean life is easier right away. Sometimes it just means you're awake enough to see what's really going on. Navigating art, chronic illness, parenting, and business in a house where everyone's got complex life stuff... it's not cute, it's logistics and emotion every damn day. Some of what feels "true" is actually just what you've been surrounded by your whole life. When you question it, a whole new world opens up. The hardest part of starting something isn't always the work, it's believing you'll be able to keep going, especially when you have a pile of complex life circumstances If your environment feels like too much, it's not because you're weak. It's because your body is telling the truth about what's happening around you. A behind-the-scenes look at how Brandon and I have restructured our life and business to actually feel like us, without making each other fit into someone else's idea of partnership. Two very different relationships to work, rest, and passion, and how we're finally letting both be valid and valuable. I shared raw insights into my journey, showing how leaning into community and prioritizing self-care made it possible to heal, rebuild and thrive. In this episode I dig into The inner tug-of-war between feeling powerless and the drive to contribute to something bigger The exhaustion of navigating chronic illness and burnout while maintaining responsibilities. Ep 226 In Our Leadership Era

I woke up Monday morning AGAIN feeling very clear that my last 20 years of professional experience and personal healing led me to this season of humaning. Like all of us, our family has been processing the results of last week's election while holding space for all the emotions and thoughts flooding in. One thing I know for sure is that the leaders guiding humanity through these next 4 years will need massive support to meet the demands of communities and their own families. I know this is part of my purpose, my calling and although it feels a little clumsy in how I can describe the vision and the path to it, I FEEL its truth deeply.  And as a result of Brandon's encouragement that opened the floodgates to this episode, I also recorded a 4ish minute free audio to activate the leader inside of you. DM LEADERSHIP on Instagram or Facebook to receive it...and potential future audios to add to it. It's going to take all of us leaning into our strengths and gifts to carry our fellow humans through this next administration.  As always, we want to hear your feedback and if this episode resonates with you, share it your fellow badasses.  Thanks for being here

Ep 224 How to Stop Abandoning Yourself (part 1)

You were taught to abandon yourself in small and discreet ways through your whole life and now, as an adult, you feel like garbage because you don't do the things you say you're going to or you don't "follow through" (go back to ep 223 to listen). Ep 223 Are you bad at follow through?

What if you aren't actually bad at follow through? There are some sneaky rules about "follow through" that are making it impossible for your goals and dreams to become a reality. If you don't real about your complex life and the reality of living in survival mode the last 2-3 decades, you will never see or feel a difference. When you redefine follow through, consistency, success, etc. you get to live more fully AND you inevitably see more progress.  If you like actionable steps, this episode has 2 homework assignments for you and we want to hear how they go so DM us when you do them. Ep 222 Is THIS Keeping You Stuck?

I don't understand how this is something more people aren't talking about but there is a mountain of evidence showing this is a non-negotiable piece to a healing burnout and cPTSD. In this episode, I share from my heart about why I am so passionate about the work I do. I have been doing intense healing over the last year and something clicked in the last week making it feel easy breezy to share from my heart vs the overthinking, research based, data oriented place I forced myself to work from for years. Ep 219 Whose Dreams are You Working On Today?

In this episode, we talk about why your day has become about other people's goals and dreams, the questions Brandon and I habitually ask ourselves, and how Brandon's phone countdown timer has helped him ask himself: What can I do right now? What new choice can I make right now that is aligned with any of my goals? We dig into the difference between reacting and responding to the demands from the outside world vs proactively deciding how you're going to start your day and prioritizing YOU. And what to do if you don't know how to make your dreams and goals the first thing on your to do list. The Boldly Becoming You Workshop is June 22 & 23 and I'd love to guide you through my signature process of making yourself the main character in your life without losing what you already love about it. Ep 218 Burnout & Allostatic Load

How does burnout REALLY happen? What is happening in your body? What is happening in your everyday life that could be fast tracking you to burnout?  In this episode, Tasha gets a little nerdy with some of the science of allostatic load, stress vs stressors and 4 specific actions you can start doing today to decrease the impact of stress on your mind, body and soul while also moving away from burnout. Ep 217 Waiting for the other shoe to drop

I wish I knew that part of healing and actually creating the life you want to experience - with joy, attunement, connection, authenticity and feeling safe in the space you exist in - wasn't all gamor and ease. There is a period of adjustment that I wasn't expecting and in this episode my intention is to pass along this lesson to you, to enable you to move through it with less overwhelm and more ease. When your perspective filter has been set to "what is the worst possible scenario? and what do I need to do to prevent it or at the least, prepare for it?" ...it's really hard to see and receive the goodness that accumulates as you do the work of boldly becoming you. It takes practice, knowing what to do in the transition period and genuine safe support. This is part of the healing journey humans cannot do alone - it's simply not how we're all wired.  But knowing what's ahead and how you can navigate the swamp of accumulating the new evidence to see how safe, and lovely, your life has become can make it a shorter journey, I believe. I would love to hear if this episode resonated with you. Do you have a hard time experiencing the joy and seeing the goodness, despite it being right there in front of you? Do you find yourself constantly waiting for the other shoe to drop? You're not broken, and it's not that something is wrong with you. You just need some practice clocking the safety in the new reality you've been creating.  Tag @rulesandrebellion if you share this on social, it means a lot to me, and it helps get these ideas to other people, which helps our community grow with more support and attunement. If you want help in navigating this swampy healing journey, you can schedule a clarity call to chat to see if we're a good fit.

Ep 216 Boundaries Then and Now

In this episode of The Boldly Becoming You podcast we travel back in time to the dark ages of our relationship.  A time without communication. Ep 215 You Are Unreliable

This one might hit you right in the trauma. You are sacrificing your time, energy and your future far too often for far too little.  The reality is…you're a problem, you're a real problem. But so were we.  In this episode, we talk about: Tasha and Brandon talk about the silent fight in sharing Instagram posts with each other  How I kept telling myself, I just don't have enough time to do all the things I want to do How Brandon's title as the "perfect husband" was BAD for both of us   You want to follow through, you want to show up for the people you love and you want your life to feel…more better more of the time. Ep 214 18,291 Steps

What started out as a fun, lighthearted exploratory adventure has turned into a journey to trust myself and my body after years of feeling untethered from it.  One of the biggest disappointments in getting sick in 2014 and being officially diagnosed in 2017 with myalgic encephalomyelitis, ME/CFS, was that Brandon and I were told, "It's unlikely you'll get better. And you'll be lucky, you'll be lucky to not get worse." In this episode, I share some of that journey and the bigness of one of my 2024 goals to see 10 waterfalls in 1 day by hiking 8 miles, or 18291 steps.  I have used vision boards every step of the way over the last 6 years to keep me focused and believing in myself. And this next goal is not different. I would love to show you how to create these same beacons of light and inspiration for you in your goals. Ep 213 The BEST List You'll Ever Make

If you're a list maker, note taker, or a to-do guru then you KNOW that if it's not on a list, it ain't happ'nin.  So then why oh why does everyone get all weird when we bring up the topic of Vision Boards? …is it maybe because they have been turned into this big scary expectation of happily ever after or else? Or maybe it's because no one ever told you how you are actually supposed to use the damn thing.  In this episode we talk about how to unlock the magic of your vision boards so you can fully unlock them as the powerful tool they are (hint: you just move 'em around)  Ps. it's not "magic," it's nueroscience that makes so much sense. Ep 212 The power of Visualization could bring you…goats? 🐐

In this episode, we get into the weirdly challenging concept of Visualization - what it really is, why it feels hard and what to do to make it easier AND more effective. As we battle our self-imposed timer we dig into our respective relationships with visualizing and goal setting…And we talked about goats, and to a lesser extent, chicken. Seats to The Boldly Becoming You Workshop are currently $97. If you're fed up with trying to figure out a system to make your goals actually happen, this is where you want to be February 24 & 25. Ep 211 Do you have the capacity to do more?

In this episode we talk about a concept that is overlooked by almost everyone. Capacity.  Where does it all go? Why do we think we have more of it than we do, and a few ideas that will get you thinking…"oh yeah, that does make me tired". AND we give you a few tips to navigate this whole "capacity" issue. This is a big deal, because without understanding the capacity you have, setting and achieving your goals is going to be impossible. You wouldn't go on a 5 hour drive without looking to see if you had enough gas to get there, don't start on a journey towards your goals without knowing how much energy, time, and ability you actually have available to you. And just in case you missed it, here is the replay link to Tasha's live masterclass The SHE Method - where you learn the 3 factors responsible for making your goals a reality. Ep 210 Big Goals, Big Stress, and a Countdown Clock

Earlier this week we asked the question: "What do YOU think is stopping you or standing in the way of you having what you want" In this episode, we dig into your responses and our own relationship with goals, success and how we completely shifted our focus to out of burnout and off the neverending treadmill of letdown and disappointment in ourselves and our results. Specifically: Being too tired and overwhelmed to even think about setting goals past sleep Wanting to want to have the energy to set goals That frustrating feeling of getting started but not having the energy to keep things going This one's a good one for all of you go-getters out there.  Oh and…we did a new thing on the podcast to keep us "on time"...and it sort of worked…ish DM us what came up for you in this episode! Ep 209 2024 Word of the Year and How to Use It

I don't know if you've noticed, but almost all of the 2024 new year content on social media is basically gone. That's because all of that "New Year, New You" crap is all based on the idea of having everything PERFECTLY mapped out all before January 1st. At R & R, we know that expecting yourself to have your entire year perfectly planned and ready to go by the end of December is based on a bunch of arbitrary rules that throws perfectionists into anxiety fueled fight/flight survival mode.  You've got a real life and rarely, if ever, does it line up with a calendar.  Today's episode is all about picking a word/intention for the year. It came out mid-month because you deserve the time and grace to join the party when you are ready and able.  The intention behind picking a word of the year is to have a mental filter to align yourself and your actions with. With that chosen word, you create a guiding principle to keep coming back to, and make decisions with, no matter what kind of weird shit happens between now and 12 months from now. Picking a word for the year isn't a brand new concept, but…do you actually know how to use your word of the year so that it's not just some woowoo exercise you forget about in a week? In this episode we talk about what our words are and why we chose them, but also what the hell to do with them next.  DM us on IG with your word so we can celebrate with you! And if you want to use this word as a spring board to create a year that you become the boldest, truest version of you, book your clarity call here today.

Ep 208 I FAILED and I am So Proud of Myself

2023 was a BIG year for my personal growth and healing. It was a lot of inner work and in this episode I share the big lessons I learned including the new non-negotiable I made a vow to do before I touched anything I care about. As a result of the commitment I made last year to keep facing my fears, and having the support I needed to stick with it, I grew my capacity and am dreaming bigger, attracting more abundance than I ever have as a result. My ability to see a more expansive future for myself feels surreal. I've never felt this calm and confident about such enormous goals for my future. I can't wait to hear what comes up for you from this reflection and what resonates with you. Shoot me a DM on Instagram and let me know which parts stuck out for you. Ep 207 I Stormed Out of Therapy (in complete denial)

If you're like I was, a successful business owner making 6 figures for multiple years, but thinking that one more hour, one more call, one more post was going to be the thing that makes or breaks your business, you need to listen to this episode. I share a very personal story about a distressing couples' therapy session that had me REELING, raging and angry sobbing the rest of the day. But ultimately, was the catalyst for so much growth, healing and expansion into a life I am grateful to live now. Since then, I've learned to stop beating myself up for making the "wrong" decisions, have gotten crystal clear on what, and who, the non-negotiables are in my daily life and allowed myself to explore fun and what play looks like in my life without guilt. If this episode resonates with you, schedule your clarity call to see if our 5 Essential Pivots program is the right fit for you. We can answer your questions and see if we all mesh. Ep 206 Why Hobbies are so Hard and You Need One Anyway

Doom scrolling IG and binge-ing New Girl and Schitt's Creek are not hobbies or special interests 😉 my friend. But if you're like me, or Brandon, you have a complicated relationship with fun, creativity and "leisure time" because ...like who has time for that? In the long-term, not having activities that are exclusively for your joy or pleasure will 100% land you in burnout. And not just the I'm tired and unmotivated stage, the full-fledged body shutting down, chronic health issues burnout. Research shows that the long-term benefits of hobbies drastically improve your quality of life and longevity. In the short term, you get to bring new energy and inspiration to your relationships, your work, your clients, your art. In this episode, we cover 3 specific signs it is absolutely time to discover some hobbies AND the practicality of having hobbies with your perfectionist dysregulation and limited energy. If you are someone who has a successful business, you know you can make the hard stuff happen - you've been doing it your whole life but the easy stuff like hobbies and enjoying your days feels hard - you need to schedule a clarity call. Whether you want to etch glass, take walks wandering your area, crochet wobbles or write poetry, we're ready to help you make 2024 the year you put YOU back at the top of the to-do list.

Ep 202 She almost threw in the towel...

Nell was fed up with her business being so hard, waking up with her heart racing, pressure in her chest and flushed with anxiety and panic as she launched into action to get her business WORKING. Her confidence was on a roller coaster, depending on how her social media content was performing, and she was angry, flooded with emotion and was close to throwing in the towel despite having a solid foundation of engaged and aligned followers AND having had genuine success in selling her courses and programs in thepast. Nell's post-concussion syndrome, ADHD, fluctuating hormones from her monthly cycle and chronic dysregulation had her stressed and anxious, operating in full-on masculine energy, draining her and leaving no room for inspiration. But Nell joins us in today's episode to talk about her transformational experience in our 5 Essential Pivots program. She talks about how she found her footing, the new relationship that has her glowing, how she feels about her business today and her exciting next season of expansion. 👉🏼 You can check out Nell here and make sure to follow her on Tiktok and Instagram. Ep 201 Excuses vs Explanations

If you're like me, for most of your life, you've been told to not make excuses for "bad behavior" or when you didn't get something done that you were supposed to. And as a result, you haven't been able to actually give yourself the grace and compassion you deserve for all the times, and all the ways, your good intentions and thoughtful planning didn't turn out the way you had hoped.  In this episode, Brandon and I cover the difference between an excuse and an explanation, specific aspects of your life that are NOT excuses but DO need to be acknowledged if you want things to not be so hard and some challenging things to expect if you've been operating under this "no excuses" gaslighting doctrine for most of your adult life. Ep 199 90 Days of New Decisions = New Outcomes

We've all heard that the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. But the tricky thing with Perfectionism and trauma response patterns in general is that it often doesn't feel like you have much choice.  And until you understand how your micro-decisions send a ripple into your daily life, you can feel powerless. In this episode, Brandon shares an experience from last night where he made a decision that was breaking his own rule - a rule that he made that was in alignment with his goals and that breaking it opened the floodgates to a slew of other, also powerful, inspired decisions. We also talk about the experiment we did earlier this year of 90 days of new decisions with our relationship with money. This is a jam packed episode - I know you'll love it. Ep 196 S.H.E. Method Part 3 of 3 - Environment

Our environments heavily influence us in daily life and in long-term achievements, satisfaction and creativity. If you aren't actively and intentionally choosing the people, places and things that influence you, it's likely you have some undetected resistance happening in daily life, adding to your frustrations, disappointments and false starts. Great news, although we can't change the governement overnight or the social systems we live among, we do have a lot more choice in our daily life than you realize or were given permission to explore.  The homework in this episode is simple and powerful so make sure you give yourself permission to take the few minutes to DO it. 😉 Last call for the Boldly Becoming You Workshop this weekend Oct 7 & 8 2023. Ep 195 S.H.E. Method Part 2 of 3 - Habits

Another fabulous LIVE session on IG and FB turned into a podcast episode 🎉 Myths about habits: - It takes 21 days to create a habit ❌ - If you don't do it EVERY day, you aren't being consistent ❌ - Bad habits are just because you aren't committed or motivated enough ❌ A habit is a behavior or thought that repeats. You know that your habits make up most of your daily life and that there are some habits you want to or wish you already had locked down and there is a mile long list of "bad" habits you feel guilty for not getting rid of already. What if I told you that those "bad habits" were actually crucial for you to get to where you are now and are actually a result of your chronically dysregulated nervous system? Those are how you have survived this far 🤯 and they can disappear if you focus on 2 specific habits we talk about in this episode. Ep 194 S.H.E. Method Part 1 of 3 - Skills

A 'skill' is the ability to do something well. The practicing part, the assessing what "well" means, the procrastination, people pleasing, hyper-productivity and pickiness - all contribute to that Perfectionist fight/flight skill development derailment.  But you can do it differently when you understand what's happening with your real life and your nervous system. You're going to want to listen to this one a couple times so make sure you save it and share it with your recovering perfectionist friends. And tune into the other 2 parts coming up for the rest of the S.H.E. Method to achieving your goals aka having what you desire.
