Quitting: What if the moment you feel like quitting… is actually the moment you’re closest to breakthrough?
Judas walked away—just days before the greatest victory in history was revealed. That contrast raises a question many of us wrestle with: How do we know when to keep going… and when to let go? In Philippians 3, Paul gives us a powerful picture of what it means to press on—to know Christ deeply, to experience His power, and to refuse to be held back by the past. And when we look at Luke 24, we see something equally striking: some stayed. They waited. They endured. And they witnessed the resurrection. But not everyone did.

When resolutions have not moved an inch
Sometimes life feels like a waiting room, quiet, uncertain, and full of questions. In this episode of Cabin Devos, we explore what it means to wait on God with patience, hope, and faith. Using Genesis, we unpack how God’s timing is perfect even when nothing around us seems to be moving. You’ll be guided through three reflective questions designed to help you: Examine your own seasons of waiting See how God is at work even in silence Respond with faith, not frustration

Master the Rhythm: "It's only February, and I'm already tired"
This episode was born out of exhaustion. Not the kind you fix with rest, but the kind that settles quietly into your spirit and makes you wonder if you’re carrying life alone. In that tired place, a sarcastic comment on Facebook lingered longer than it should have: “Focus on yourself, don’t mind the relatives—they only come together to help with burial preparations.” It was meant to be funny, but when you’re already worn down, jokes like that confirm a deeper fear—that when it really matters, no one shows up. The story takes us to the Garden of Gethsemane, where Jesus asked His closest friends to stay awake and pray with Him, just a little longer. They loved Him. They meant well. But they fell asleep. And Jesus named a truth we still live with today: “The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.” This episode sits in that tension—between willingness and weakness, faith and fatigue, loneliness and endurance. Through honest reflections from different voices, we explore what it feels like to stay awake when others are worn out, to hope when support feels thin, and to remember that even when everyone else sleeps, God does not. If you’ve been tired, disappointed, or quietly holding on, this conversation is for you. Come sit with us in the garden—and learn what it means to stay awake a little longer. -------------------------------------------- BUY THE BOOK HERE: http://nosignal.cabindevos.com

I struggle with Prayer - TRUE or FALSE
Prayer isn’t always easy. In this conversation, David, Grace, and Pastor Frankie wrestle with two big questions: “I struggle with prayer—true or false?” and “If God answered all my prayers, would my life be better?” Together they explore what it means to pray without ceasing, how communal prayer shapes us, and why God’s wisdom often protects us from our own requests. Rooted in Philippians 4 and the Lord’s Prayer, this episode invites you to yield after “amen,” find peace in God’s timing, and walk with Him in the everyday. Leaving out details isn’t the same as lying—especially if your heart is in the right place.(True or False:)
we wrestle with the gray areas of honesty. Is it ever okay to withhold part of the truth if our motives seem pure? Does God judge us by the intentions of our heart, or by the words we actually speak? Together, we’ll dig into what Scripture says about integrity, deception, and the fine line between silence and falsehood. Get ready for a conversation that challenges us to think deeper: Is leaving out details an act of wisdom—or a subtle form of dishonesty? Telling hard truths can damage relationships…so real love sometimes stays silent. (TRUE or FALSE)
Loving people who are hard to love is never simple. Should love mean staying silent to protect relationships, or does real love speak hard truths? And does accepting someone mean overlooking wrong patterns—or calling them higher? In this discussion, we wrestle with the tension between grace and truth, exploring how to love deeply without compromising honesty. These types of questions are discussed in a physical fellowship. Surrendering Fully to God's Will | Week #4
In this episode, we explore one of the hardest yet most transformative aspects of faith—surrender. Inspired by Mark 14:32-36 and Flavia Olwol’s powerful commentary, we dive into Jesus’ prayer in Gethsemane, where He faced overwhelming sorrow but still declared, “Not my will, but Yours.” Why is surrender so difficult? How do we trust God when His plans don’t look like what we expected? Through insightful reflections from Flavia, real-life stories from our community, and practical steps for walking in surrender, this episode will challenge and encourage you to trust God in your own “Gethsemane” moments.

Listening to God's Voice Above all | Week #3
In this episode, we explore a powerful commentary by Flavia Olwol, reflecting on how life’s interruptions—like her cancer diagnosis—can become divine invitations to draw closer to God. Using the story of Jesus’ transfiguration in Mark 9, we uncover lessons about the importance of solitude, listening to God’s voice, and trusting His plans, even when they differ from our own. Join me as we reflect on what it means to climb your own “high mountain” of solitude, embrace God’s presence, and gain clarity in your walk with Him. This episode will inspire you to step away from distractions and hear His voice more clearly in your daily life.

Finding Rest in the Midst of Service | Week #2
In this episode, we explore the life-giving rest that Jesus offers in Matthew 11:28: “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” We unpack what it means to experience rest as a gift rather than another task on your to-do list. Discover how rest restores not just your body but your mind and spirit, why it’s essential even in the busiest seasons, and how Jesus modeled it for us. With practical tips, fresh insights, and heartfelt reflections, we invite you to step into God’s invitation for renewal, refreshment, and connection.

Prioritizing Time with God | WEEK #1

In this episode, we explore the challenges many Christians face in maintaining regular quiet time with God and how Jesus’ example in the Gospel of Mark offers practical solutions. Learn how the time of day and place matter for minimizing distractions, how time with God brings clarity and focus, and how it empowers us for spiritual success. Jesus prioritized solitude with the Father, even after exhausting days of ministry—showing us the importance of intentional time with God. Sharing the Hope That We Have
In Episode 2 of Hope, we introduced Emmanuel, a father who struggled to raise his daughter in an African environment rife with corruption and hardship. Despite the challenges, Emmanuel found strength in his faith and the living hope that anchored him through difficult times. This episode is about the responsibility and privilege of sharing the hope we have in Christ, especially with the next generation. The bond between a father and daughter, and the transformative power of hope. Emmanuel’s story reminds us that hope isn’t just for surviving; it’s for thriving—and it’s meant to be shared. As he prays for and encourages his daughter, we see how faith and hope can shape the future, even in the most difficult circumstances. Join us as we explore how the hope we carry can inspire and strengthen

Epd #146 | How leadership has evolved and why you may be getting it wrong
"Leaders that don’t stand up for what they believe in are difficult to respect and trust. Too many leaders today battle the gulf between assimilation and authenticity. They waste too much of their valuable time trying to act like other leaders in the organization – rather than attempting to establish their own identity and leadership style. This is why less than 15% of leaders have defined and live their personal brand." - - Forbes Enjoy the show. For details check out https://cabindevos.com/

Epd #142 | Is hell 🔥 for rich people? Talk through the book of James
This week everyday on Cabin Devos we are publishing an Episode at 9:00 pm. These are interviews and conversations I have had with friends on our live shows that I believe will bless you. This coming sunday on the 20th of November we are having eleanor + all her singles friends coming to explain to us why they fear to commit. We shall discuss fears singles have concerning marriage. Some are legit fears, they are problems that married people now can not escape ...while others are baseless fears. Question for you: “Is hell for rich people?” After all, it is harder for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God. Sounds like a Sunday school question and some have urged that it the love of money that is the problem and not money in it’s self. But this verse does not say that it’s harder for the rich man that loves his money. It’s simply the rich money. I’m yet to find to rich men that don’t love their money. As we navigate this tough economy we need to learn where the traps are and avoid them. Welcome to this episode that ask the question, “Is hell for rich people?” Previous episodes can be found when you search for Cabin Devos on Apple podcasts, Podbean Amazon’s Audible Spotify And Straight on google or google podcasts Enjoy the show….

Epd #140 RACISM | My tribe is not better than yours
Diversity is a reality of life and therefore a reality of any society or team. Examples in everyday life: The human body (legs, heart, eyes, head, hands etc.) A soccer team (strikers, defenders, coach, doctors etc.) A nation has different tribes and even within tribes there is clans. Government (president, judiciary, cabinet, security forces etc.) Its possible for diversity to be used for unity as opposed as a basis for division. The Bible is full of pictures of diversity that work in unity (Teamwork) The Trinity (God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit). 12 Tribes of Israel conquering the Promised Land. The Church composed of Jews and Gentiles called to be one (Galatians 3:28) ++++++++++++++++++ To support our ministry Visit:https://give.wol.org/davidtubirye

Epd #137 Rethinking Church | Why church is more than mere tradition.
One verse I can not get out of my mind is “…upon this rock I will build my church.” Matthew 16:18 What does that mean? You can urge about who or what the rock is one thing you can’t urge about is; Christ is the builder and if we are going to find any problems tonight … we shall find that we as humans are the ones drifting. May be we have redefined church…? I don’t know… But one thing I know is that we have some very well studied guests. They have wrestled with these things the same way we have (in our doubt) There is going to be an imaginary line in todays discussion. We are not discussing online Vs. Physical church although you will hear the limitations of online church sticking out like a soar thumb. The argument tonight is why we should all belong to a church. A body of believers. ++++++++++ IMPORTANT LINKS Support our ministry with Word of Life: https://give.wol.org/davidtubirye Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCmazdwanBIoQnq7UDqMaomw Website: http://cabindevos.com Cabin Devos Shop: http://shop.cabindevos.com Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/cabindevos Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/cabindevos/ Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/63hGgGlFDAg6X6wAX9MYFy?si=50b1387f20494b44 Google Podcasts: https://podcasts.google.com/feed/aHR0cHM6Ly9mZWVkLnBvZGJlYW4uY29tL3Rlbm1pbnV0ZXNpbnRoZWZpZWxkL2ZlZWQueG1s?sa=X&ved=0CAMQ4aUDahcKEwiohtqFkrD3AhUAAAAAHQAAAAAQAQ&hl=en Apple Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/ug/podcast/cabin-devos/id1453330231 Support the ministry in Rwanda: https://give.wol.org/location/rwanda Email: [email protected]

Epd #135 | WORK ETHICS: How ”Working from home” has ruined every thing and why rest is as biblical as work it’s self
While growing up, If a visitor came asking for Dad and he was not home, we always said, "He has gone to work." And when Dad came home, we knew he was home. I remember how he smelt. It was a mixture of cement and sweat. I long to smell that again but I can't. Epd#133 | Suffering when I have done nothing wrong.
It seems like life is a sum of pain and painkillers. Constantly seeking for something to take away the pain. We say, “I will be fine as long as I have this in place.” The things we can’t get, we place them before God in prayer and hope that He answers, the sooner - the better. This feeling of suffering when we have done nothing wrong is real and can be confusing. But Osward Chambers says, “The purpose of prayer is that we get ahold of God, not of the answer. It is impossible to be well physically and to be dejected, because dejection is a sign of sickness.” We hope you are blessed by the episode ++++++++++ IMPORTANT LINKS Support: https://give.wol.org/davidtubirye Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCmazdwanBIoQnq7UDqMaomw Website: http://cabindevos.com Cabin Devos Shop: http://shop.cabindevos.com Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/cabindevos Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/cabindevos/ Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/63hGgGlFDAg6X6wAX9MYFy?si=50b1387f20494b44 Google Podcasts: https://podcasts.google.com/feed/aHR0cHM6Ly9mZWVkLnBvZGJlYW4uY29tL3Rlbm1pbnV0ZXNpbnRoZWZpZWxkL2ZlZWQueG1s?sa=X&ved=0CAMQ4aUDahcKEwiohtqFkrD3AhUAAAAAHQAAAAAQAQ&hl=en Apple Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/ug/podcast/cabin-devos/id1453330231 Support the ministry in Rwanda: https://give.wol.org/location/rwanda Email: [email protected]

Epd#132 | Is ministry meant for me? | Addressing ministry fears and how to answer this question
Have you ever felt you are not cut out for ministry? That it is meant for some one else? Oh that it is too difficult. You hear of missionaries that die broke. Missionaries that have no real friends or never get to enjoy life. When you think of ministry you think of church politics, you think of going to another country or belonging to a missions organisation and you are forever stuck in a world of the unknown. Where every meal is a prayer request. Oh When you think of ministry, do you think of meeting the needs of others like the orphans or street kids and the vulnerable. Do you ever stop to wonder if we could (even) ever come to end of all this struggle. Do you you ever feel like all this is impossible and useless to try. +++++++++++++ For more details, visit http://cabindevos.com To support our ministry with Word of Life in Rwanda Give: https://give.wol.org/davidtubirye
