Did Jesus come to abolish the Torah—or did He come to fulfill it? How many laws are actually in the Bible? Is the answer simply 613—or does the word “law” refer to more than one thing?In this episode of Daily Bread, The Mandated Reporter continues the Torah series by examining the difference between YAH’s written instruction given through Moses and the later body of rabbinic teaching commonly called the Oral Torah.The study begins with a recap: Torah means more than our modern English idea of “law.” It carries the sense of instruction and teaching. I need to publicly correct something from my recent episode about why I choose to use the proper names.After releasing that message, Holy Spirit convicted and corrected me concerning the way I presented it.The biblical information in the episode remains, and I am not removing the message. However, the sarcastic tone was mine. It came from Angie, the flesh-and-blood person. It was not the tone of my Father and King, and I should not have presented that delivery beneath the banner of The King's News Desk without making that distinction clear.My tagline carries a responsibility:“From The King's News Desk, this is Daily Bread with The Mandated Reporter.”If I say something is coming from The King's Desk, I have a responsibility not to misrepresent the One I am claiming to represent.Holy Spirit rebuked me.I received the correction.And I repent.The sarcasm was prideful, and I do not want that acknowledgment to go unsaid simply because admitting it publicly may be uncomfortable.This is also an important part of learning and growing in YAH's Word: when Holy Spirit corrects us, we do not defend the error simply because there was truth somewhere inside the message. What happens when the people who could have helped you choose not to—and then become angry when YAH helps you succeed without them?Part 2 of this Daily Bread teaching continues through Judges 12 and explores frenemies, jealousy, misplaced trust, biblical discernment, relationship categories, and trusting YAH when people disappoint you.Jephthah told Ephraim plainly:“I called you, and you did not save me.”Yet after YAH delivered him, Ephraim came against him.Sometimes people see your struggle, recognize your purpose, possess the ability to help—and still withhold assistance because they are waiting to see whether you fail.But Psalm 23:5 says YAH prepares a table in the presence of our enemies.Jeremiah 17 warns against making flesh our arm while declaring a blessing upon the person whose trust and hope are in YAH.This episode also examines the importance of knowing who is who in your life.Everyone begins as an associate. In Part 3 of Gossip Versus Processing, The Mandated Reporter explains that healthy processing has a purpose and should gradually lead toward healing, wisdom, forgiveness, boundaries, and responsible action.Processing does not mean continually repeating an offense or making the wound part of one’s permanent identity. There is a difference between examining pain so it can be treated and rehearsing pain so that anger remains alive.Using the comparison of a physical wound, the episode explains that emotional and spiritual injuries also require proper care. Prayer and Scripture are essential, but healing may also require tears, confession, trusted counsel, pastoral support, healthy boundaries, or help from a qualified, Holy Spirit filled mental-health professional – when prompted by Holy Spirit to do so.The episode also addresses the fear of speaking honestly when the person involved is a leader. Part Two explains why suppressed emotional pain does not simply disappear. Like pressure beneath a volcano, unresolved pain may remain hidden until a word, person, place, or similar situation causes it to erupt.The episode distinguishes genuine healing from silence. A person may have stopped discussing an experience without actually processing it. When this happens, the wound remains vulnerable to reopening.Healing may require expression, but not indiscriminate exposure. Pain should be shared with trustworthy, spiritually mature people who can protect confidentiality, provide wisdom, offer correction, and guide the wounded person toward freedom.Processing also has an ending.
