IS EVERYMAN AND WOMAN AND MAN A PHILOSOPHER?
Send us Fan MailIS EVERYMAN AND WOMAN AND MAN A PHILOSOPHER? - Most of us have opinions on life and its various twists and turns. Many, if not all of us, in wondering about the nature of life and human activity, have formulated our own answers to big questions such as: how did the world begin, does life has a purpose and how should we live correctly etc. So does that make us all philosophers? Keith was wondering if that was the case and so put the question to his friend Danny Zygourakis, an Aussie Greek living in Athens, who himself likes to ponder deeply on such matters. Danny clearly spoke about the difference between opinion and philosophy putting forward a strong case for the enduring legacy of the classic philosophers and why what they had to say is still relevant today. BETTER THE DEVIL YOU KNOW
Send us Fan MailBETTER THE DEVIL YOU KNOW RATHER THAN A NEW ONE? ... Keith calls DONT GET ME STARTED his digital pub. A bit ironic really, as Lee is a teetotaller and Keith has cut his drinking back by around 90%. They’re just two guys happily hanging out before a microphone, tackling life’s topical twists and turns as it takes their fancy. Yet they do give each topic some thought before recording, although they have been known to detour off track a bit when having too much fun. In this episode, they barely get on track. Lee was thinking along one vein and Keith quite another until they sorted it out amid a few laughs. Lee wanted to edit it, but Keith said leave it be. So here it is … topic: Is it better to stay with the devil you know rather than seeking something better? Support the show

IS IT REALLY WRONG TO ENJOY YOUR COMFORT ZONE?
Send us Fan MailIS IT REALLY WRONG TO ENJOY YOUR COMFORT ZONE? ... How often do you hear it said these days that you are best to get out of your comfort zone? Quite often. The implication of such a statement is that comfort zones are negative in some way. Or that nothing good can come out of dwelling in such a state. But is this one of those blanket statements that we throw around so easily without stopping to think a little more about what we are saying? Surprisingly, if we do, there are a few insights to unpack. Some quite positive, suggesting that being in your comfort zone is not really that bad. Well, that depends, doesn't it? Mainly on how much time you spend in there and how you manage it. Context is often everything. The real enemy is laziness - or probably better identified as slothfulness. Which you may remember is one of the seven deadly sins. Number four, in fact. So maybe it's time to drop the negative connotations of comfort zones and come up with a catch-cry about being a sloth. Any suggestions? Email us at [email protected] we'd love to hear from you. Support the show

WHEN FRIENDS LET YOU DOWN
Send us Fan MailWHEN FRIENDS LET YOU DOWN ... Friends are those in your life that you choose. Those that you attach to, one way or another - or they to you. We all have them - close friends, casual friends, and of course, true friends. Some folk have lots of friends and don't expect too much from them as they're happy to simply enjoy them. But not everyone relates to their friends that way. Yet, regardless of whether we are conscious of it or not, friends are those whom we enjoy ourselves and are happy with. So in that regard, we do expect something from them. So what happens when a friend lets you down? Or more specifically, how do you react? Do you forgive and forget, lower your expectations or simply cut them out of your life? We all have our own way of dealing with this. Lee loved this topic and wanted to broaden it along the way to look at what constitutes a friend. Support the show

FATE OR DESTINY
Send us Fan MailFATE OR DESTINY …. Oh, it’s a big one to think about isn’t it? Yet it’s probably something that everyone wrestles with at some point in their lives. Particularly when faced with decisions, consequences and outcomes. Certainly philosophers do, and always have. Poets have as well, plus writers. Some of these great thinkers have said much about this question leaving us with some understanding. Or at least some prompts to guide us in our own musings. Vasily Grossman’s epic novel “Life and Fate” comes to mind. Keith and Lee certainly aren’t guiding poets or philosophers but are no different from all of us who like to talk about life and its unfolding. And so they do, just as the everyday man and woman might do when faced with some of the pivotal moments in their lives. Support the show

IS TIME OUR ENEMY OR OUR FRIEND?
Send us Fan MailIS TIME OUR ENEMY OR OUR FRIEND? ... Of the few things that every single one of us has in common, time is probably the most fluid. So much so that it can be mishandled, raced, used as punishment when taken from us, invested in for a desired outcome, enjoyed when relishing the moment, sit heavily upon us, reveal truths and all things, and endured when we live through dark times. So, is it one of our most precious possessions or an unrelenting taskmaster who plots against us? For there is no doubt that time can work for us just as much as it can work against us. Of course, like many of life's questions, there can be two answers. Perhaps answered according to individual circumstances and experiences. Keith and Lee enjoy discussing questions like this, and on this episode, they get right into it - but do go off a little unscripted along the way. Well, situation normal ... Support the show

WHAT DO YOU HEAR WHEN ALL IS STILL AND SILENT?
Send us Fan MailWHAT DO YOU HEAR WHEN ALL IS STILL AND SILENT? ... Is silence ever silent? At first glance that may seem a contradiction in terms but for many of us silence is never silent. In fact for some, it is far from silent. It is full of memories that sometimes scream at us. Memories of regret, hardships, sorrows and wishful thinking. Also when all is still there is a chance to come into an understanding of what may be concerning us regarding our affairs. To see something that was hidden by all our busyness. Silence can reveal insights, understanding and perhaps spiritual revelations. But silence can also reveal ourselves to ourselves. Maybe that can be our biggest unveiling and one that is vital for our personal growth and acceptance. Support the show

SECRETS AND LIES
Send us Fan MailSECRETS AND LIES Who doesn't have secrets and who doesn't tell lies? Is it okay to tell a lie or is it not? Would that depend on the gravity and possible consequences? Or might it depend on protecting someone from something it's best they dont know? What about lying to conceal guilt or to take the wrap for someone else? Ah, so many questions - but that's just it concerning this topic. So much is relative. We all know lying in order to hide what might be deceitful or some blatant misdoing is wrong - and we know too that some, if not most, secrets are to be kept. That much is straightforward. Still there are yet more questions. Does holding a secret foster an unhealthy burden that could corrode your soul or sully your spirit? Is it noble to keep a secret? Sometimes most probably yes, as that secret might have been shared in trust. Then again keeping something secret that should be known, is definitely wrong and is certainly is a form of deceit, if not a kind of lying. As always, Keith and Lee enjoy tackling the everyday issues that we all face and they certainly relished getting into this one. Support the show

HOPE AND DESPAIR
Send us Fan MailHOPE AND DESPAIR ... Lee says that hope and despair are two sides of the same coin. That they are linked is commonly believed. But how are they linked? Is it a balance or a little bit of one with more of the other - and do they both have to be in play when one or the other is activated? It is written that hope deferred makes the heart sick. Which, naturally enough, can lead to sadness, disappointment, discouragement, as well as depression or an illness. Pretty heavy stuff, and certainly does fall under the despair umbrella. It is also written that faith is the substance of things hoped for. So what does faith have to do with this topic? Does it mean that hope cannot be in play without faith for whatever your goal, desire or want is to be realised? If despair leads to those fore-mentioned negatives, then does hope bring about happiness, contentment, and fulfilment, etc.? The closer you look at this, the more there is to be discovered via a deeper dive into the topic. For now, Keith and Lee are willing to leave that to those more qualified, wishing only to discuss it in their own way. Also on this episode, they share an AI-generated song for their KEITH AND LEE'S GREAT NOOSA COFFEE ODYSSEY podcast, which, quite frankly, blew their minds as it was produced in mere seconds once the button was clicked. DO WE LOVE WHAT WE HATE?
Send us Fan MailDO WE LOVE WHAT WE HATE? ... There are times in our lives when we focus so much on what we hate that we form a strange psychological attachment to it. So it's a fair question to ask if we love what we hate. That attachment can bring about a heightened emotional state, apparently as intense as love. In short, a stimulation that we enjoy. Keith concludes that this is probably true, citing personal experience. He is aware that the object (he doesn't give away the exact details), which is the focus of his attention, borders on becoming obsessive at times. He states that he doesn't like what that object is, but somehow it attracts him. We know about the Stockholm Syndrome, where a captive, in time, forms strong feelings for their captor - or even their abuser. It doesn't seem logical, but it does happen. Therefore, loving what we hate certainly can happen as well. And as is often the case, what you are focusing on and how much time you give to that is key. Support the show

IS LOSING YOUR DOGMAS A GOOD THING?
Send us Fan MailIS LOSING YOUR DOGMAS A GOOD THING? Dogmas, like stereotypes, are generally considered to be something that should not be so tightly held that they limit progressive thinking and intellectual growth. No doubt there is a truth in that. Dogmas though, could be viewed in the light of saying that there are dogmas - and then there are dogmas. That is to imply that some dogmas have benefits while others do not. Or to say that there are big dogmas and there are little ones. Rigidly (and often righteously) saying that you are open-minded, when you are not, is every bit dogmatic as standing unflinching on a religious or political stand. Either way that’s a big one and limiting. Shedding such a position is certainly good. But what about little dogmas? Which incidentally, we all have. Such as your views on money, sex, work, family and relationships etc - to name just a few basics of life. Plus, can dogmas be foundational to growth? And do our dogmas define us even after we have made an effort to move on from them? Support the show

IS WANT AND DESIRE THE SAME THING?
Send us Fan MailIS WANT AND DESIRE THE SAME THING? …. Some people see desiring something as a restriction on living and seek to free themselves from desiring in order to obtain a much clearer, if not purer way of living. But what about wanting? Is that the same? If desiring something can be a serious hindrance to being free, is wanting things just as limiting? And if they are the same in this respect, is that bad or just a natural condition of being human? Can there be a balance? There are other questions too. Does it imply that by striving to be free from desire and want mean being anti life by rejecting all that the world has to offer? Support the show

ARE YOU A PRODUCER OR A CONSUMER?
Send us Fan MailARE YOU A PRODUCER OR A CONSUMER? ... Modern life challenges us all. It's fast-moving and often changng but at its core it's a consumer society with a relentless push to have things, things and more things. In that context, asking the question are you a consumer or a producer relates easily to our materialist world. But the question asks more of us than that. It's also a question of how we approach life in general. Do we give or do we take? Giving in any way is producing just as much as making something. Taking and wanting to continually get is consuming. However, we all do both, don't we? It's the balance of the mix that's important. To what extent so often determines our quality of life, our mental health and the type of person we are and are known as. Support the show

DO WE LISTEN ANYMORE?
Send us Fan MailDO WE LISTEN ANYMORE? ... Keith and Lee are finally back after their Down Under long summer break. Lee has added more magic gadgets to the studio, and the boys are rearing to punch out their first DONT GET ME STARTED podcast for 2026. Their topic about listening seems as relevant today as it's ever been. With so much information coming at us from multiple sources, it's almost as if we are drowning in noise. But of course, listening has primacy importance in conversation, communicating and truly being able to hear what others are saying. And in that context, it's an act of the will to hold back what you may feel triggered to say when it's either rude to butt in - or to talk over the top of others. How do we gain from listening, what does it mean to others when we listen to them, is listening an act of respect, is it empathetic and is it a skill we need to cultivate and practice? These are just some of the questions Keith and Lee raise and discuss. The boys have exciting plans for the year and are thrilled to be back podcasting with all their worldwide listeners. They can't think of a better way to start 2026. Support the show

HAVE WE BECOME TOO COMFORTABLE WITH LIFE?
Send us Fan MailHAVE WE BECOME TOO COMFORTABLE WITH LIFE? ... It has been said many times that the comfort zone is where our dreams die. But what if we live too much of a comfortable life, even if we accomplish our dreams or reach a certain level of affluence - can that have other negative impacts upon our well-being? Can too much ease and comfort be dangerous? We do live in a consumer society that emphasizes striving to achieve materially, so are we silently programmed to create our own demise? Food for thought. With the Christmas festive season now upon us and tomorrow being the first day of 2026, Lee wanted to discuss whether goodwill, which is after all the the basis of Christmas, is still relevant in today's modern society. It's one of those easy questions to answer really, but still a good one to discuss. For the world, with all its troubles, still needs peace on earth and goodwill towards all men and women as a true guiding sentiment. DO WE NEED TO FIND OURSELVES?
Send us Fan MailDO WE NEED TO FIND OURSELVES? - Some people seem to have a confidence about themselves and their place in the world from a young age. Others though, don't. Some could even be classified as lost souls. They don't appear to have the same self-assurance as the others who exude a self-confidence and peace about who they are. Questions such as who am I, where do I fit in this world, what are my values, what do I like, what do I lean towards that feeds my soul, what are my beliefs and convictions are very real ones that many people need answers to in order to understand themselves - to "find" themselves. Just as some find their place and understanding early in life, others do so much later in their life's journey as "late bloomers." When you do arrive at such an assurance is not important, but what is crucial is that you do arrive. Not comparing yourself too harshly against others and continually moving forward while probing for answers is essential when seeking to find who you really are. Self-discovery is very powerful and fulfilling. Support the show

REGRETS - DO WE FOCUS ON THEM TOO MUCH?
Send us Fan MailREGRETS - DO WE FOCUS ON THEM TOO MUCH? … The obvious answer is yes, yet so many of us do. All too often, we allow them to torment us. Quite a few psychologists report it’s one of the main issues they have to talk through with their clients. It can torment them as they look back and wish outcomes they are now living with one way or another were different. Often regrets can be recurring, bringing with them heavy feelings such as sorrow, a sense of having missed out and even shame. Regrets, if we let them fester (and it’s best not to), can have a haunting presence like that of ghosts. However, there are positives and silver linings in the situations we find ourselves in due to our regretful behaviour or decisions. Easy to say, but they’re definitely there. The trick is recognising them rather than being swamped by the over-focus on “what could have, should have been" type of thinking. Support the show

WHAT MAKES A GENTLEMAN?
Send us Fan MailWHAT MAKES A GENTLEMAN? ... It’s not only a good question but a timeless one, isn’t it? It may not be so fashionable in certain quarters to ask this, or to pass yourself off as a gentleman, but the true qualities of a real gentleman are as valid and needed today as they ever were. But what are these qualities? It’s easy to ask some AI bot that will throw up some generic answers, and while not wrong, AI answers don’t always include the lived life experiences of two men who have known real gentlemen. The two men, Keith and Lee, are both challenged to be gentlemen in order to be the best men they can be for their loved ones, families - and themselves. And so they are willing to share their personal perspectives, thus raising some interesting points. Coupled with this question is the equally relevant one asking, “What is masculinity, and is it relevant in today’s society?” Both rich discussion points that Keith and Lee dive right into ... well, after a bit of friendly banter that is. Immediately Lee’s eyes light up saying, “Oh yeah, love it - let’s do it!” Keith usually just floats along with whatever they plan to talk about but Lee likes to dig around to bring some substantial points to the discussion to keep things moving along. Which he does, but he’s also quite an astute guy with a wealth of living to draw from once the two of them start chatting. ARE STEREOTYPES VALID?
Send us Fan MailARE STEREOTYPES VALID? ...- Are stereotypes valid, is one of those questions that's pretty easy to answer. Most people will tell you yes or no almost immediately. And most would likely answer no due to the popular opinion that stereotypes are too general and therefore not a sound basis for making evaluations or judgments. Obviously, to go on stereotypes alone, for it has been said, 'stereotypes exist because stereotypes do exist’, is lazy thinking at best and at times offensive… which can be inaccurate and even dangerous. But are they valid? Can they be used positively? Keith thinks so. Lee not so sure which he backs up with some very relevant points. Are stereotypes valid is a question that has more to its answer than simply being dismissed with a yes or a no. Plus, despite what most people say, stereotypes are used far more broadly than one may realise. Which, when pointed out to those who dismiss them outright, find surprising. Support the show

Further to their flagship podcasts DON'T GET ME STARTED and SURF TOWN, they announce news of them starting up THE MEN'S QUARTER podcast and an internet radio/channel called ROGUE RADIO NOOSA. Exciting growth for the DGMS Studio and the boys indeed. Perhaps typically, though, once behind their microphones, they naturally slipped into podcast mode discussing the topic of their next episode. Which almost ran the duration of half a podcast recording. No surprise really, for both Keith and Lee are genuinely enthused about their coming topics - and opportunities. So enjoy this little-bit-longer-than-planned update and thanks for regularly tuning in. Support the show

ARE WE ALL ON THE SPECTRUM SOMEWHERE?
Send us Fan MailARE WE ALL ON THE SPECTRUM SOMEWHERE?- There is an unspoken emphasis these days to be as right or as perfect as you can be. But is that even possible? Certainly, we all want to live our best lives without messing it up somehow. Which is natural of course, yet that is quite hard to achieve. So what stops us? Plenty - not the least being ourselves. We are not perfect and have imperfections, meaning that occasionally we can be our own worst enemies. Does that mean we're all on the spectrum somewhere? Well, maybe we aren't, according to the standard classifications - although there is a good chance many of us have some aspects of spectrum characteristics in our makeup. And if we do, does that matter? This episode of Dont Get Me Started with Keith and Lee has been supported by THE CRESCENT, a land release in beautiful Crescent Head, New South Wales. KEITH, LEE, and MICHAEL
Send us Fan MailKEITH, LEE, and MICHAEL -... There are plenty of jokes along the lines of, "What happened when the Aussie, the Pom and the Kiwi walked into a bar?" This episode of Lethal and Mully Live could very well be titled, "What happened when the Aussie, the Pom and the Kiwi walked into the podcast studio?" Especially when they recorded a free-flowing conversation on a list of human attributes. And then tried to label each other according to the six categories being discussed. None of the three men are shy, and definitely not backwards in coming forward, so while sparks didn't fly, it certainly was spirited. The guys agreed that, while not definitive, the six different types of attributes were relevant to themselves and helped them understand others. Plus, they clearly enjoyed talking about it.theskiguy.com.auhttps://youtu.be/IzrO_J37pQMhttps://youtu.be/g6g0Ai9ZEU0 Support the show

DO YOU REALLY LIKE YOURSELF?
Send us Fan MailDO YOU REALLY LIKE YOURSELF? ...- During a recent conversation with a lifelong friend that got a bit deep, Keith asked his buddy if he really liked himself. That is, if he genuinely liked the person that he was. At first, his friend said yes, highlighting some of the good things that he had done and was proud of. But doing is quite different from being. So Keith asked him not to speak of deeds, but rather to consider who he was without doing anything that might be regarded as good or noble. Just who you simply are. After a quick rethink, he answered that yes, he did. Having known his friend for so many years Keith was happy that his buddy was at peace with himself. However, many people are not. "Do you really like yourself?" is a fair question, and one that Lee was particularly keen to discuss. https://youtu.be/g6g0Ai9ZEU0https://youtu.be/IzrO_J37pQM Support the show

IS ROMANCE DEAD?
Send us Fan MailIS ROMANCE DEAD? -... After a two-week road trip deep into New South Wales, Keith rejoins Lee in the DGMS Studio for another episode of their popular podcast DONT GET ME STARTED. This time the boys discuss the topic of romance, asking the question - is it dead? Lee, being somewhat of a romantic himself, had no hesitation in declaring that it isn't. When challenged by Lee if he was romantic, Keith confessed to possessing a small streak, although he stated that others close to him would dispute that. Lee would have been happy to talk about love romance the whole time but Keith, perhaps understandably, wanted to expand the conversation to discuss romanticism as characterised by an idealized view of reality. Keith bought a few laughs when reporting some of the names of towns and places from his trip. Names that raised a few eyebrows! https://youtu.be/g6g0Ai9ZEU0https://youtu.be/IzrO_J37pQM Support the show

NOOSA NOW. ANDREW TROUT
Send us Fan MailANDREW TROUT... Andrew is a quiet man who lets his doing speak for him. In short, he is one who walks the walk more than he talks. Yet his story is fascinating. With decades of competing in premier ultra events here in Australia and New Zealand, his story is one of surprising insights into a sport many of us know little about - let alone participate in ... plus endurance and personal triumphs. The events that he has participated in is quite a CV: the only person to complete three Ultra 355s, New Zealand Iron Man x 3, Port Macquarie Iron Man Australia x 9, Melbourne Iron Man x 3, and has completed the Kawana 24hr triathlon - plus many more ultra events. His story is all the more impressive when he shares details of the personal physical handicaps that he has had to overcome to be the lifelong triathlete that he is. Andrew truly is an iron man in every sense of the word, and is still competing. Inspiring.https://youtu.be/g6g0Ai9ZEU0https://youtu.be/IzrO_J37pQM Support the show

IS YOUR LIFE A CIRCUS?
Send us Fan MailIS YOUR LIFE A CIRCUS? -... Life can be messy, chaotic and sometimes overwhelming to the point that it seems to be running you and not the other way around. Keith and Lee are both busy guys with projects, the demands of responsibilities and various other concerns always on the go - and therefore agree that life, at times, is a circus. Lee confesses to having about six monkeys in his head at any one time but still manages to love the noise of it all. Keith shares that his messy headspace all too often leads him into situations that he'd rather not be in - or had chosen to enter into. Which at times makes him feel like he's under it all without any control. Lee on the other hand views whatever is thrown at him as an expression of how colourful and dynamic life is. Therefore you should embrace the circus and get right on in there as much as you can. Ideally being the ringmaster of it all, or giving it your best shot, and irrespective of how it all plays out, enjoy the ride. As always it's a lively discussion between the two of them with Lee really getting stuck into it.https://youtu.be/g6g0Ai9ZEU0https://youtu.be/IzrO_J37pQM Support the show

DINO HAYES. JKD INSTRUCTOR
Send us Fan MailDINO HAYES and Bruce Lee's JKDIn this episode, Keith and Lee chat with Dino Hayes a respected instructor of Bruce Lee's fighting form called Jee Kune Do. While many people are familiar with Karate, Taekwondo and Judo etc, far less known is Bruce's martial art Jeet Kune Do - or JKD. When developing JKD, Bruce, guided by the influence of Taoist philosophy and the Wing Chun style of gung fu, shaped his martial art to be fluid and adaptive to the circumstances of the moment. Unlike Karate and Taekwondo, for example, which are based on set forms, JKD's openness allows the practitioner to incorporate other fighting forms into Jeet Kune Do according to whatever situation presents itself. Bruce taught Jeet Kune Do to very few. When he did, Bruce strongly emphasised that JKD's adaptive philosophy could be applied to many of life's challenges. Dino Hayes has devoted his life to teaching JKD and living it. Support the show

DOES CLOTHES REALLY MAKETH THE MAN/WOMEN?
Send us Fan MailDOES CLOTHES REALLY MAKETH THE MAN/WOMAN? - ... It's a old saying but Keith and Lee thought it was still very much relevant today. But with them both living in the sub-tropics with a long hot summers they don't get the chance very often to put on a nice collared shirt, a sharp cut of jacket or suit but mainly get around in the local attire or t/shirt, shorts and open thongs (flip flops in the USA and Jandals in New Zealand). So the saying doesn't ring that true around their part of the world. Although they confessed to the joys of putting on the best gear they can when the occasion arises. Both have lived in colder climates where the chance to step out dressed with a bit of style was something they did enjoy. Still, does looking good in smart clothes really maketh the man or the woman? Neither Keith had a definitive answer but if push came to shove they probably admitted that it certainly goes close. Which one though was the worst dresser wasn't that hard to pick. Support the show

IS COMPETITION HEALTHY?
Send us Fan MailIS COMPETITION HEALTHY?... There aren't too many of us who are not competitive in some form or another. We might not show, or perhaps not fully admit it to ourselves but most likely some element of competitiveness lurks deep within. But is that a bad thing or is there positives to being competitive? Whilst that isn't necessarily a hard question, it is not that easy to answer one way or another. Well, at least that's how Keith and Lee found it. For as they discussed it they shared views from both sides. And regular astute listeners probably won't find it too difficult to pick which of the two guys might be the more competitive. FORGIVENESS
Send us Fan MailFORGIVENESS ... When Keith suggested discussing the topic of forgiveness for this episode, Lee jumped at it. Both guys, like so many others, have been faced with the need to either forgive - or to be forgiven. So it was one of those very relatable topics on a deep personal level. Forgiveness is one of life's most essential and dynamic functions. A real quality of being a well-rounded human being. Lee likes to do a bit of research before each podcast recording, but soon found that what he had to say flowed more from experiences and observations learned. So did Keith. But typically, they opened with some good-hearted banter that they both enjoyed before taking a deep dive. Support the show
