Ep. 13 How I healed my Oral Allergy Syndrome through embodiment
For over 20 years, I couldn't eat a raw apple.Or carrots, pears, cherries, plums and the list went on and on.What started as a strange tingling sensation in my mouth as a teenager eventually became years of anxiety around food, fear of allergic reactions, panic attacks, doctor visits, allergist appointments, naturopathic protocols, and constantly wondering where the nearest hospital was whenever I ate something unfamiliar. In this episode, I share my personal journey with Oral Allergy Syndrome (also known as Pollen Food Allergy Syndrome), how it affected my life, and the surprising way my symptoms began to change through embodiment work. This is not a story about finding a miracle cure. It's a story about reconnecting to my body, exploring the relationship between the nervous system and immune system, releasing years of tension, fear, and emotional holding patterns, and discovering what became possible when I stopped treating my body like the enemy.I also share the experiences that shaped my relationship with safety, trust, boundaries, anxiety, and self-expression, and why I believe the body often speaks through symptoms long before we learn how to listen.🌹 In This Episode We Talk About:What Oral Allergy Syndrome (OAS) isThe foods I reacted to for over 20 yearsGrowing up with allergies, asthma, and a reactive immune systemThe tattoo reactions that landed me in the hospitalAnxiety, panic attacks, and fear around foodThe connection between stress, trauma, and the bodyWhy conventional approaches never gave me the answers I was looking forThe embodiment session that changed everythingLearning to listen to the wisdom of the bodyThe relationship between nervous system regulation and healingBoundaries, self-trust, and reclaiming personal powerWhy symptoms may sometimes be invitations rather than enemiesThe role embodiment played in my healing journey✨ Important NoteThis episode shares my personal experience and is not medical advice. Please continue following the recommendations of your healthcare providers regarding allergies, medications, EpiPens, and medical treatment.🔥 Mentioned in This EpisodeEmbodi Your Wild Women's RetreatA luxurious, witchy, embodied weekend for women ready to reconnect with their bodies, pleasure, erotic power, and wild feminine nature through movement, somatic practices, rest, nature, sisterhood, and deep nourishment.October 23–25, 2026La Minerve, Quebecwww.embodipole.com/retreat🌹 Connect with KarolyneInstagram: @itsmekarolyneEmbodiPole: @embodipolewww.embodipole.com
