Pastor Dr. Cabrera and his wife, Elvia, are founders of New Life Outreach International church, a congregation which has grown to nearly 400 members in the Bronx, New York. As a pastor, he has led his congregation toward community action against violence, implemented youth leadership programs, and offered free drug rehabilitation services and support groups. He has worked tirelessly for this church since 1988 without receiving a salary. He loves the Bronx and believes that the future is promising, but he also knows that we need strong leaders to guide and shape that future. He believes that if you passionately work toward the things you believe in, the results will come, and his record of accomplishments and vision for the future is a testament to that. Dr. Fernando Cabrera also has been the NYC Council Member representing the 14th district in the Bronx since January 2009. Councilman Cabrera had been a staunch advocate for tenants, youth and seniors. He is the former program director for the Mental Health and Counseling program at Mercy College, where also taught for the last 12 years. Dr. Fernando Cabrera earned his B.A. in Religion from Southern California College, M.A. in Counseling from Liberty University and Doctorate in Counseling from Argosy University. A family man, Dr. Cabrera has been married to Elvia Cabrera for 28 years. They have two wonderful children, Lissette Feliciano (34) who is married to Carlos Feliciano, who also serve as co-pastors, and Joshua (26) who has worked with him to bring positive change to the Bronx and is graduate of Columbia University. Dr. Cabrera is the proud grandfather of two boys, Zechariah and Nehemiah Feliciano. For his excellence in public service, Fernando Cabrera has received numerous recognition's from organizations and government officials. Pastor Cabrera often states that the major source of joy in his life is being a part of his family, church and community.

Christ First of all, the word “Christ” comes from christos, a Greek word meaning “anointed.” It is the equivalent of the word mashiach, or Messiah, in Hebrew. So, to be the Christ, or Messiah, is to be “the anointed one of God.” But what does that mean? To be anointed, literally, is to have sacred oil poured on one's head, because God has chosen the person for a special task. Priests and kings were anointed, and occasionally prophets. Kings were anointed during their coronation rather than receiving a crown.

Hebrews 12:1-3 The Message (MSG) Discipline in a Long-Distance Race 12 1-3 Do you see what this means—all these pioneers who blazed the way, all these veterans cheering us on? It means we’d better get on with it. Strip down, start running—and never quit! No extra spiritual fat, no parasitic sins. Keep your eyes on Jesus, who both began and finished this race we’re in. Study how he did it. Because he never lost sight of where he was headed—that exhilarating finish in and with God—he could put up with anything along the way: Cross, shame, whatever. And now he’s there, in the place of honor, right alongside God. When you find yourselves flagging in your faith, go over that story again, item by item, that long litany of hostility he plowed through. That will shoot adrenaline into your souls!

Continuation on the Grace of God!

Noah found Grace.  WICKEDNESS WAS GREAT- BUT NOAH FOUND GRACE! Noah Ge 6:1-8 8 But Noah lfound grace in the eyes of the Lord.  GRACE The gift of God as expressed in his actions of extending mercy, loving-kindness, and salvation to people. Grace is the dimension of divine activity that enables God to confront human indifference and rebellion with an inexhaustible capacity to forgive and to bless. God is gracious in action. The doctrine of divine grace underlies the thought of both the OT and NT. However, the OT merely anticipates and prepares for the full expression of grace that becomes manifest in the NT.[1]  88.66 χαριτόω; χάριςa, ιτος f: to show kindness to someone, with the implication of graciousness on the part of the one showing such kindness—‘to show kindness, to manifest graciousness toward, kindness, graciousness, grace.’ χαριτόω: κεχαριτωμένη, ὁ κύριος μετὰ σοῦ ‘the Lord is with you, you to whom (the Lord) has shown kindness’ Lk 1:28; ἧς ἐχαρίτωσεν ἡμᾶς ἐν τῷ ἠγαπημένῳ ‘which he has graciously shown us in the one he loves’ Eph 1:6.χάριςa: ἐξῆλθεν παραδοθεὶς τῇ χάριτι τοῦ κυρίου ὑπὸ τῶν ἀδελφῶν ‘he left, being commended by the brothers to the kindness of the Lord’ Ac 15:40. It is important to note that kindness in English indicates an activity in which an individual is kind to someone; it is essentially an event involving a particular quality. The same is true of χάρις in Ac 15:40, for this is not a mere gracious disposition, but an expectation of the Lord’s showing kindness.[2]
