Bought Your First Tarot Deck? Here’s Where to Start.

Bought your first tarot deck and don’t know where to begin? Booked a reading with your favorite astrologer and not sure what to ask? In this special episode, I break down the key elements in opening up and asking for guidance, be it from cards, star charts or any mode of divination. I talk about setting intentions, rituals for before and after a reading, and getting to know your guides (think: inner children, future selves, ancestors, angels, past lives, higher powers and gods) and framing your questions. And if you’re giving a reading, or receiving one, what should you look out for? I share some of my personal detectors for calling out bullshit in a reading, and for asking the right questions. I share some of my favorite tarot spreads, along with books that changed the way I practice, including Mary Greer’s Tarot Reversals, Alejandro Jodorowsky’s The Way of the Tarot, and Rachel Pollack’s Seventy Eight Degrees of Wisdom. Whether you’re looking to read yourself or your friends, my intention is to provide you with the inspiration to develop your own practice. Write to me at [email protected] To book a reading with, go to DavidOdyssey.com and Davidodyssey.substack.com

Pluto in Aquarius: AI and the Future of Human Originality

What can the planets tell us about our awakening age of artificial intelligence? Quite a bit, as it happens. In 2023, Pluto, the planet of the underworld, death and fate, entered Aquarius, the sign of technology and new ideas. Only two years into a two-decade Aquarius residency, Pluto has unleashed the dark god of AI, and revealed the cynicism and one-size-fits-all dehumanization at the heart of big tech. Must it end here? What are our choices, beyond strapping into patent leather and doing high kicks, like Carrie-Anne Moss in The Matrix? To make sense of the future, I pull an opening card: Judgment, which gives us insight into fate, calling, and awakening. What is our individual assignment in this harrowing new chapter? I talk about Pluto’s previous editions, namely in Scorpio (think: the AIDS Crisis in the 1980s and early 1990s) and in Capricorn (flash to the 2008 financial crisis and its aftermath). Devastating periods, which did, at great cost, inspire new modes of activism and consciousness. If the heroes of the ACT UP generation can teach us anything, it’s how to face an impossible enemy. As for the present? I talk about the final season of The Comeback, and invoke Lisa Kudrow’s Valerie Cherish as a messiah of optimism and originality in an age of pre-arranged playlists and human isolation. We dig into Pluto’s possibilities for reinvention, and for Aquarius’ high aspects of idealism, inventiveness and originality. It ain’t over ‘til it’s over. Write to me at [email protected] To book a reading with, go to DavidOdyssey.com and Davidodyssey.substack.com

Sex, Death & The Tower: Beltane Rituals, Taurus Season & Scorpio Full Moon Power

What if collapse isn't a crisis, but an initiation?Beltane, or May Day, marks the peak of Taurus season: fire, fertility, flowers, libido, and the solar god Bel. But this year, a powerful Scorpio full moon pulls us into the underworld, and this week's tarot card is The Tower. Most people fear The Tower. I don't.The Tower is necessary destruction. Taurus Season 2026: Stand Your Ground

On April 19, Taurus season launches the spring into its peak, and the gravitas of the bull inspires embodiment and enthusiasm. I introduce us to the themes of my birth sign by pulling its corresponding tarot card, the Hierophant, which commands us to bring the divine down to earth, and to set the terms for our power in our day-to-day lives. The themes of Taureanism are solidity, sensuality, and simplicity. With a full moon in Scorpio on May 1st (the pagan holiday of Beltane), a new moon in Taurus on May 16, and planets like Uranus and Venus entering Gemini, it’s a season of lightning downloads and powerful debuts. As the noise of the world continues to rage, the planets challenge you to stand your ground and stick to actual, lived-in reality, so as not to fall into the matrix. The Astrology of the X-Men

For queers the world over, few texts hit quite as hard as the X-Men. It could be because of the queer metaphors, gender fluidity, operatic melodrama, or byzantine plots. Or it’s the fact that mutant men happen to be stacked (and insatiably curious), and their lady counterparts are fearsome and chic. I’ve wanted to talk about this for so long! I break down the romances and real ones of the X-Men through the lens of astrology. What are the signs of Jean Grey and her counterpoint Emma Frost? How does Mystique’s devotion to Destiny explain compatibility in astrology? And could it be possible that Storm and Magneto are peas in an astrological pod? This one goes out to all X-fans, with or without deep astrological knowledge, and to queer cosmic geeks who might be a little X-curious. And friends, I’m dying to know how you read the charts of Polaris, Forge, Havok, and all your favorite hot-blooded mutant powerhouses. Welcome to Heavenly Bodies. I hope you survive the experience!Write to me at [email protected] To book a reading with, go to DavidOdyssey.com and Davidodyssey.substack.com

Resplendent drag artist, comedian and newly minted akashic master Kiko Soirée joins me to talk about their transition into mediumship. They talk about their gradual spiritual awakening and metamorphosis, how they began to dip into psychic play, and explain the marvels of the akashic records, a field of consciousness containing all knowledge—past, present and future—which can be accessed by all. This episode is designed as a primer for those who are just starting to “come online” to their intuitions, feelings or curiosities around the deeper mysteries around them. Kiko and I offer tips on how to cruise liminal spaces and make contact with your guides. It’s meant to be fun. Kiko offers akashic readings, which you can book via kikosoiree.com. Uranus in Gemini 2026: Creativity Out of Chaos

Don’t expect your life to calm down any time soon. Uranus, the promethean fire-bringer of the planets, enters Gemini on April 27, and promises to delivers chaos, creativity and, of course, backlash, to the sign of the twins through 2033. Uranus brings new technologies, movements and ways of thinking, and, in Gemini, a sign of duality and ambivalence, its gifts will often come with a heavy price.I break down Uranus’s role as the planetary chaos agent or trickster, and how, with sweeping change comes devastating backlash. I talk about Uranus’s tour of Taurus, from 2018–2026, and the ways it redefined our understanding of money, sexuality, gender and human rights. And then…it gets messier. The last time Uranus was in Gemini was the 1940s, a decade of devastation and reinvention, often at the same time. What does this spell out for the age of AI, cultural discourse and self-definition? Where do you fit into all of this insanity? And how should you ride this frequency without getting sucked under? This is some next level cultural astrology, and if you’re listening to this podcast, I know you’re game for the future. Aries Season 2026: Conflict, Combustion and Liberation

Finally: March 20 marks the spring equinox, when the sun delivers its light to the world in perfect balance. With this solar reset comes Aries season, the launch of the astrological year and the proper beginning of spring. We’ve had enough dealing and healing and talking and processing: it’s time to strap on your go-go boots and hit it hard. Aries is the sign of the individual, the warrior, the hero at the beginning of their great saga. With Mercury and Jupiter freshly out of retrograde, there is a drive towards looking forward and making your life happen. As the Jewish holiday of Passover and Persian holiday of Nowruz hit, we ride on themes of light, liberation and great crossings. A full moon in Libra on April 2, along with a new moon in Aries on April 17, set the stakes for the battles to come: whom must we face, and what are the terms for the next round in the ring? As Venus enters Taurus, we prepare to make our spring and summer debuts. The bathing suit you ordered all those months ago has finally arrived, and you’re ready to show off the new you. Send us pictures of your Venus in Taurus debut to [email protected]. Aries marks the beginning. We’re only just getting started. How to Work with Angels: Signs, Guidance & Connection- A Conversation with Radleigh Valentine

I welcome author and teacher Radleigh Valentine to talk about one of my very favorite things: angels. Valentine is the author of multiple tarot decks, including the Angel Affirmations and Angel Wisdom decks. He has written books and taught courses on magical living and working with one’s guides. Naturally, we have a blast talking about our divine team: how to work with angels, how to involve them in daily life, and how turning our crises and fears over to these higher powers can make a critical difference when all hell breaks loose. Whether you’re singing to angels like Kate Bush or know nothing at all about the heavenly chorus, we’ll make sure that you connect with these loving, liberating, life-changing forces. Write to me at [email protected] To book a reading with, go to DavidOdyssey.com and Davidodyssey.substack.com

    Saturn in Aries: Battle Royale

Saturn, the planet of definition, authority, and structure, enters Aries from February 13, 2026, and remains until April 12, 2028. Aries is the first sign of the zodiac, where the hero’s journeys begin and the battles between good and evil are still quite straightforward. What does it mean when the archetype of accountability and self-awareness enters the sign of conflict and creation? To make sense of this brand-new era, I cover Saturn’s last three years in Pisces, a period of perverted nostalgia and overwrought self-reflection. Now that you’ve gotten to know your inner children, it’s time to return to the world and face what’s before you. We’ll explore themes of Aries, how the world’s new supervillains have revealed themselves, and how each of us will have to decide which battle is ours to wage (and which isn’t). And we dive into the culture of Saturn’s last tour in Aries, in the late ’90s, hitting Buffy, Destiny’s Child, and every other warrior woman of the age. Naturally, we’ll talk about what this means for you if you’re having your Saturn Return in Aries, and how you can mobilize or strike to make the most of this period. This does not promise to be a peaceful time. But conflict can wake us up out of the fog. It’s time to step into your role and join the fight. Write to me at [email protected] To book a reading with, go to DavidOdyssey.com and Davidodyssey.substack.com

Pisces Season 2026: Crying, Cleansing & Cosmic Chaos

Pisces season launches on February 18th, spelling out the end: of the zodiac cycle, the winter, and all our most tiresome old behaviors. The time has come to re-enter the closet (imagine) and clear out the outdated garments, artifacts and vestiges of outdated selves, in time for the new beginning which spring always promises. It’s a period of review, before the reinvention. Deeping the reckoning and reconciliation, Mercury retrogrades in Pisces from February 26 through March 20, triggering the sort of chaos necessary to inspire closure. Your classic penchants for self-sabotage and martyrdom become glaringly apparent, and you have an opportunity to heal the brimming madness once and for all. Mercury Retrogrades always come with a mission, and we’ll go deep on what this saga has in store for you. But that’s not hardly the half of it. March 3rd delivers upon us the Full Moon Total Lunar Eclipse in Virgo, a portal-opening which prophesies personal and collective reckoning. Don’t worry: I have you covered. We’ll talk about how this style of eclipse has previously registered in history, and what it spells out for you when the sun and moon come into frightening symmetry. One way or another, this Pisces season doesn’t promise to go quietly. To make sense of this spiritual, psychedelic spin cycle, you’ve come to the right place. Write to me at [email protected] To book a reading with, go to DavidOdyssey.com and Davidodyssey.substack.com

How to Embody Mars and Venus this Valentine’s Day

Hello Sex Symbols, it’s Valentine’s Day! Let’s rekindle the erotic flame with Mars and Venus, the lovers of astrology, and reveal your inner Eros and Aphrodite. Mars represents masculinity, sex, fire and drive, and Venus is love, beauty, artistry and femininity. Where do these two planets hold court in your chart? Where are they now? I explain how the masculine and feminine play out within each of us, and how you can experiment with them in your sex life, style and creative expression. To further explore themes of unity and connection, I consult some of the icons of the Tarot: The Lovers, The Devil, Temperance and the Two of Cups. Along the way, I call on Fleabag, Kabbalah and other essentials to make all this practical for you. Whether you’re building an altar for a solo sexual fantasia, or looking to come together with your beloved, this episode promises to supercharge your erotic and spiritual imagination. Write to me at [email protected] To book a reading with, go to DavidOdyssey.com and Davidodyssey.substack.com

Neptune in Aries: The Big Picture with Maliea Croy

For the first time since 1875, Neptune has returned to Aries, where it will stir conflict and imagination through 2039. Neptune rules the collective consciousness, dreams, streams of entertainment and ways of perceiving our world. Aries launches the zodiac with themes of drive, aggression and ambition. To get a grip on such a trippy crossing, I call on Maliea Croy—astrologer, trend-forecaster and host of the Club Cosmos podcast. Maliea and I break down the styles, ideologies and even delusions which have defined the Neptune in Pisces era (2011-2025), then talk about how Neptune’s attributes apply in Aries, the sign of war, creation, and initiation. We get into Neptune’s previous edition in Aries, which happened to coincided with the Civil War (yikes) and contemplate what’s to come in the realms of politics, fashion, art and identity. And, of course, we bring all this intergalactic progress to your doorstep, offering ways for you to ride this period of intense change for the highest good. Listen to Maliea’s podcast Club Cosmos Radio on Apple, Spotify or wherever you get your podcasts, and book a reading with here at Malieacroy.com. Write to me at [email protected] To book a reading with, go to DavidOdyssey.com and Davidodyssey.substack.com

How to Survive the 2026 Saturn-Neptune Conjunction

On February 20, two dark masters will collide for the first time since 1989 when the planets Saturn and Neptune come into conjunction in the sign Aries. I’ll be going deep to make sense of what this means for all of us, macro and micro, globally and personally. I explain what Saturn and Neptune are, and how tracking their movements through the signs helps us to understand where the collective consciousness is going, and what’s to come of our own addiction, imagination and policy. I break down the significance of these two planets starting a brand new cycle in the first sign of the zodiac, Aries, and how this marks a definitive closure point in your healing process, before you launch into the battle to come. A ton of big stuff happened during the last Saturn-Neptune collision: the fall of the Berlin wall, the launch of the world wide web, and definitive artistic statements from Madonna, Janet Jackson, Tim Burton, and Queen Latifah. The echoes of 1989 will prophesy where we’re headed next. We’re playing with liberation and authority, freedom and fetish, creativity making sense of control. Together we will face your own inner rebel, overlord, junkie, and, of course, your inner sex symbol, and I’ll give you the tools to make this a turning point in your journey to maturity, accountability, and courage. Hang on. This is only the beginning…Write to me at [email protected] book a reading with, go to DavidOdyssey.comPLEASE NOTE: Correction. Aquarius Season 2026 Horoscopes

On the eve of Aquarius season and a new eclipse cycle, this is the ideal moment to prophesy what’s to come, beginning with a rundown of the “seasons” of astrology, and how to channel the queerest of all signs: Aquarius. This is the sign of the hacker or gay Mortal Kombat aficionado, and it’s the arena for playing with our form and sexuality in which we can design the avatar that’s right for us. With Mars, Venus, Mercury, and the sun in Aquarius, this is the time to look ahead at the year to come, and decide what sort of warrior you want to be. I dive into the Leo full moon on February 1, coinciding with the pagan holiday of Imbolc, then together we prepare for the new moon annular solar eclipse on February 17, in Aquarius, the first eclipse of the year. Past eclipses can give us insights into dealing with a portal-opening of this magnitude. Thought that was enough constellation chaos? Not hardly! With Saturn and Neptune entering Aries and making a rare, once-every-36-years conjunction, I’ll get you ready for the cultural, social, and political upheaval to come. With the planets heading towards Pisces, there’s still a little more time for healing, dealing, and getting your sh*t together. The long night of the eclipses has only just begun. Take shelter here at Heavenly Bodies HQ: we’ll show you how to thrive through the reinvention. Write to me at [email protected] book a reading with, go to DavidOdyssey.com

Embracing Lilith: The Dark Feminine Archetype

Welcome, fellow cosmic travelers! I invite you to journey with me into the wild, untamed energy of Lilith, one of astrology’s most fascinating and misunderstood figures. We begin at the beginning, when Lilith was created and then cast out, in biblical myth, and from folklore and stories that tried to erase her as an aberration. But exile is often where power is reborn. Lilith evolved from myth into astrology, and her placement, especially Lilith in Sagittarius, is a blazing beacon of truth, rebellion, and spiritual independence. She’s the embodiment of the dark feminine, not something to fear, but something to reclaim. She is the voice that won’t apologize, the instinct that refuses to kneel, the part of us that remembers who we were before we were told to behave. With 2026 marking Lilith’s entrance into Sagittarius, the collective story heats up. We find her everywhere, in cultural icons, film, and music. Women who carry Lilith’s fire unapologetically include Anne Hathaway, Tina Turner, Zoë Kravitz, and Jennifer Connelly, and others. Lilith shows up again and again as rejection transformed into radiance, like the X-Men’s Madelyne Pryor. This episode isn’t just about astrology—it’s about reclamation. About finding where you were silenced, where you were labeled “too much,” and realizing that was never a flaw. It was the point. You may begin to recognize Lilith in your own chart, your own story, and your own becoming. So take a breath, look up at the sky, and let’s begin.00:00 – Welcome to Heavenly Bodies 01:24 – Meeting Lilith 02:46 – Lilith in astrology 06:13 – The myth and the exile 11:18 – The dark feminine revealed 18:06 – Lilith in Scorpio 27:39 – Anne Hathaway’s astrological journey 29:19 – Lilith enters Sagittarius (2026) 30:28 – Sagittarius divas and cultural fire 31:40 – Tina Turner’s resilience and legacy 33:38 – Lilith in modern icons 35:34 – Jennifer Connelly and Sagittarius spirit 38:09 – Catwoman, Zoë Kravitz, and archetype 40:45 – Sagittarius women in film and music 46:31 – Personal and political transformationWrite to me at [email protected] book a reading with, go to DavidOdyssey.comYou can watch the full episode at https://www.youtube.com/@TheHeavenlyBodiesShow
