Just Common Sense | 170 | The News and The Good News

What happens when thousands of teenagers gather in the streets, violence erupts, and an entire generation appears increasingly disconnected from biblical truth? In this episode of Just Common Sense, Dr. Johnny Hunter is joined by evangelist Marjorie Williams for a frank conversation about youth violence, absent fathers, education, political influence, cultural division, spiritual deception, and the responsibility of the church.Using 2 Timothy 3 as a biblical foundation, they discuss the “perilous times” described by the apostle Paul and challenge churches to do more than simply observe what is happening. They call on pastors, parents, and believers to reach young people, establish strong Christian education, teach a biblical worldview, confront racial hatred, and proclaim repentance and salvation through Jesus Christ. The conversation also turns toward emerging technology, digital identification, artificial intelligence, and concerns surrounding the mark of the beast. Throughout the program, listeners are encouraged to test every claim carefully, remain grounded in Scripture, and practice spiritual discernment. The central challenge is unmistakable: If the church does not disciple the next generation, the culture will.If this helped you:Subscribe and share with a friend who needs hope today. To connect and learn more, visit learninc.orgListen to Just Common Sense on your favorite podcast app.

Dr. Hiram Crawford, Jr. and his wife Dr. Jeronna Crawford to celebrate a multigenerational legacy of bold pro-life, pro-family ministry rooted in Chicago and reaching across the nation. The Crawford family carries one of the most consequential legacies in the modern pro-life, pro-family movement. Rev. Hiram Crawford Sr. founded the Pro-Life, Pro-Family Coalition in 1985 — coining the very terms — and gathered pastors across the African American community to defend life, marriage, and Christian family values. Today, his son carries that mantle as president of the coalition, while his wife Dr. Jeronna shares remarkable stories from her years as a Chicago Public Schools principal where prayer, abstinence education, and Spirit-led leadership transformed an entire community. From confronting city hall to credit unions in 39 churches, this is a conversation about generational faithfulness — and a clear call to stand up for Jesus in our generation, too.Faithfulness is generational — and the Crawford family proves the gospel still passes from father, to son, to grandchildren who stand. If this helped you:Subscribe and share with a friend who needs hope today. To connect and learn more, visit learninc.orgListen to Just Common Sense on your favorite podcast app.

Just Common Sense | 160 | The Church and The State

In this riveting edition of Just Common Sense, Dr. Johnny Hunter takes listeners straight from today’s headlines into the heart of Scripture. From gerrymandering in Virginia and confusion over gender in competitive sports, to moral compromise in leadership and the ongoing attacks on life and faith — he holds nothing back.Through the lens of John the Baptist, Dr. Hunter explores how believers are called to speak truth even when the culture says, “stay in your lane.” Using Philippians 2:5‑8 and the story of John’s bold witness and martyrdom, he makes the compelling case that Christians cannot remain silent in politics, morality, or public life.Faith is personal, but it’s never private. Like John, believers are called to shine light wherever darkness hides — in government, schools, business, and the public square. The message is plain: If Christians won’t stand up, corruption wins — and common sense dies.Listeners are challenged to put on the armor of God, get involved, and bring faith‑filled integrity back to civic life.If this helped you:Subscribe and share with a friend who needs hope today. To connect and learn more, visit learninc.orgListen to Just Common Sense on your favorite podcast app.

Together, they unpack the moral and spiritual deception at the heart of modern socialism—why it rejects God, replaces biblical morality with man’s reasoning, and masquerades as compassion.Dr. Johnson traces socialism’s roots through history—from Karl Marx and Charles Darwin to modern movements—and exposes its persistent influence in American culture and even within the church. He reminds listeners: “Socialism is man’s effort to create a utopian world without God.”The discussion contrasts forced redistribution with the Spirit-led generosity of Acts 4, reveals how faith leaders once stood against communist infiltration, and urges today’s believers to reclaim both truth and courage.Key PointsSocialism rejects God: it replaces divine authority with human control.Man’s morality shifts: calling evil good and good evil leads to destruction.Forced charity isn’t biblical: true generosity is Spirit-moved, not government-mandated.History matters: Soviet efforts to divide America once targeted Black churches and leaders —but pastors stood firm.Today’s call: discern deception, defend truth, and uphold freedom through faith in Christ.“Socialism is man’s attempt to build utopia without God— and that always leads to bondage.” — Dr. Melvin L. JohnsonIf this helped you:Subscribe and share with a friend who needs hope today. To connect and learn more, visit learninc.orgListen to Just Common Sense on your favorite podcast app.

With clear, devotional commentary, he walks through key promises pointing to Messiah’s birth and early years (Gen 3:15; Gen 12:3; Isa 7:14; Hos 11:1; Matt 2), the visit of the wise men, Herod’s rage, and God’s protective guidance. The takeaway: history isn’t random—God rules over rulers, and Christ brings real peace in a turbulent season. Dr. Johnny Hunter surveys the week’s headlines—then shows how God still weaves human plots into His perfect plan, especially at Christmas. In this edition of Just Common Sense, Dr. Johnny Hunter walks through a stack of headlines—from federal investigations and congressional subpoenas to world violence and culture-war controversies—and asks a bigger question: Where is God in all of this? Drawing from Proverbs 2:7 and Luke 2, he reminds us that the first Christmas unfolded under a government decree, yet fulfilled divine prophecy right on time. He urges believers to guard their hearts during a stressful season, practice wise stewardship, and keep their hope anchored in Christ. Just Common Sense | 139 | When Tech Meets Truth: AI, Ethics, and Human Dignity with Matthew Eppinette

Today’s “Just Common Sense” digs into the collision of technology, truth, and human dignity. Dr. Matthew Eppinette joins us to unpack why modern ethics swapped external standards for internal feelings, how AI chatbots (and “grief bots”) can stunt real relationships and healthy grieving, and why quantum-speed computing comes with massive power demands you don’t see on your screen. We also wade into organ donation and the push to redefine death, IVF “plus” embryo screening, and the growing blur between humans and machines. It’s a practical, Scripture-anchored call to think clearly, love wisely, and keep people—not platforms—at the center. If this helped you:Subscribe and share with a friend who needs hope today. To connect and learn more, visit learninc.orgListen to Just Common Sense on your favorite podcast app.

Just Common Sense | 138 | Epoch Times with Pastor Arthur (AJ) Johnson

On this Thanksgiving edition, Dr. Johnny Hunter welcomes Pastor Arthur “AJ” Johnson (Birmingham, AL) for a heartfelt conversation on giving thanks in everything. After a quick sweep of national headlines, Pastor AJ shares his pro-life journey (including an arrest while peacefully praying at a clinic and a night in the same Birmingham jail cell once used for Dr. King), the miracle of his family after years of infertility, and the deep grief of losing a son.Anchored in 1 Thessalonians 5:18, he teaches the difference between thanking God in trials (not necessarily for them), and shows how gratitude glorifies God in every season. Scripture-rich, pastoral, and practical—this one lifts weary hearts to worship. If this helped you:Subscribe and share with a friend who needs hope today. To connect and learn more, visit learninc.orgListen to Just Common Sense on your favorite podcast app.

Just Common Sense | 137 | Conflicts with the Constitution w/ Rusty Thomas

Dr. Johnny Hunter welcomes Pastor Rusty Thomas for a candid conversation on constitutional liberty, media narratives, and the church’s response to cultural threats. After quick headlines (Turning Point USA, court fights over redistricting), the episode dives into lessons from Ruby Ridge and Waco/Branch Davidians, contrasting the media’s story with on-the-ground accounts. The second half examines reports of a proposed “Sharia/Epic City/The Meadows” development in Texas, broader concerns about Sharia law and Marxism as competing ideologies, and why Rusty believes they’re incompatible with America’s creed. The show closes with a pastoral call to courage: don’t fear—trust Christ, contend for truth, and live the gospel publicly. To learn more about today's guest, visit:https://www.archurch.net/https://www.rustythomas.org/If this helped you:Subscribe and share with a friend who needs hope today. To connect and learn more, visit learninc.orgListen to Just Common Sense on your favorite podcast app.

Just Common Sense | 136 | Solomon Speaks: Life, Law, and the Battle for the Unborn (Dr. Robert Solomon)

“After Roe v. Wade fell, the abortion industry didn’t die. It just moved to the mailbox and the internet.”On this episode of Just Common Sense, Dr. Johnny Hunter and his wife Pat welcome Rev. Robert Solomon, Vice President of the National Black Pro-Life Union, for a frank conversation about the state of the pro-life movement after Roe v. Wade. They trace the shift from brick-and-mortar abortion clinics to abortion pills, expose the population-control roots of the abortion industry, and discuss how Obamacare is being used to subsidize abortion. Anchored in Scripture, they draw sobering parallels between slavery and abortion, warn about the advance of a godless, communist mindset, and call believers to action: prayer, bold truth-telling, and contacting elected officials to defend innocent life.Post–Roe Reality: The Fight Has Shifted, Not StoppedRoe v. Wade being overturned did not end abortion; it pushed the battle to the states.Pro-life work now must engage federal, state, and local levels. From Clinics to Pills: A New FrontlineBrick-and-mortar abortion clinics are declining, and abortion doctors are aging out.The industry is moving aggressively to abortion pills:Mailed through the U.S. Postal Service, even into states with strong protections.Distributed through major retailers like Walmart, CVS, Walgreens.Much of the battle will increasingly be online and in the mail, not just on clinic sidewalks.Abortion and Slavery: A Moral ParallelSlaves were treated as chattel property; today, preborn children are treated as the property of the mother. The 14th Amendment protects “persons” from being deprived of life without due process; the question is recognizing the unborn as persons.Just as slavery divided and defiled the nation, abortion is now doing the same.Eugenics and Targeted Population ControlThe roots of legalized abortion are deeply tied to eugenics and population control.Certain populations were (and are) considered “undesirable” or “inferior”: black Americans, Jews, Native Americans, poor whites, disabled individuals.Abortion, sterilization, and birth control were deliberately used as tools to reduce these populations.Historically, black Americans moved from “asset” (as free labor) to “liability” (as competitors), and policy followed that mindset.Obamacare and Taxpayer-Funded AbortionObamacare included mechanisms that expanded abortion coverage, bypassing the Hyde Amendment.Democrats fought hard to maintain subsidies so that taxpayers would indirectly fund abortion. The shutdown battle is tied to whether subsidies for abortion-involved plans continue.National Identity at Stake: Toward Communism?Open borders and refusal to deport dangerous individuals are seen as intentional destabilization.Bringing in large numbers of people who do not assimilate is described as a way to change the nation’s character. The warning is clear: without a moral and constitutional anchor, America heads toward a communist-style system with no real freedoms.Biblical View of Life in the WombScripture clearly presents life beginning at conception.God knows, forms, and calls individuals from the womb.Jesus’ fierce protection of children (millstone warning) reflects God’s heart toward the defenseless and the young. What Believers Should DoPray and stay grounded in the Word.Teach and defend a biblical view of life.Support pregnancy centers and ministries that offer real help and alternatives.Call and visit district offices of senators and representatives, especially regarding:Abortion subsidies in Obamacare.Regulation and restriction of abortion pill distribution.Work toward making abortion not only illegal, but unthinkable. If this helped you:Subscribe and share with a friend who needs hope today. To connect and learn more, visit learninc.orgListen to Just Common Sense on your favorite podcast app.

Just Common Sense-Episode 135 You Are What You Vote

In this episode of Just Common Sense, Dr. Johnny Hunter starts with headlines—from the legacy of Charlie Kirk and the latest shutdown blame game, to electric vehicles and police Cybertrucks—then moves into a deeper question: who should really be caring for the poor? Walking through Matthew 25, he points out what Jesus did and did not say about feeding “the least of these,” arguing that charity is the responsibility of God’s people, not big government.Dr. Hunter connects the dots between historical slavery, modern welfare dependency, open borders, SNAP benefits, and the impact on families and communities. He also highlights the Fayetteville Renewal Project, a church-led initiative built on charity, unity, and outreach, and closes by urging listeners to find a Bible-believing church, seek true freedom in Christ, and remember that Jesus Christ saves. If this helped you:Subscribe and share with a friend who needs hope today. To connect and learn more, visit learninc.orgListen to Just Common Sense on your favorite podcast app.

Just Common Sense | 134 | The Fayetteville Renewal Project: Charity, Unity, Outreach

Guest host Pastor Dale Paschal talks with Pastor Greg Williams (Cliffdale at the Lake Community Church) about the Fayetteville Renewal Project—a citywide, volunteer-only initiative built on three pillars: Charity, Unity, and Outreach. The plan: unite Bible-believing churches, pool people and resources, knock on doors, assess needs, fix what’s broken, connect families to services, and serve with zero political agendas. Funding flows primarily from churches; oversight comes from a multi-denominational council to ensure accountability and focus. What you’ll hear:Why unity across denominations is essential (and possible)How a volunteer model stretches every dollar to real needsPractical help: repairs, bills, counseling referrals, and moreGuardrails: accountability, stewardship, and non-partisanshipA scalable approach other cities can adoptCall to action: If you’re a pastor or church leader in the Fayetteville/Raeford area, connect with Pastor Greg’s team and invite your congregation to serve. Just Common Sense-Episode 133 Headlines with Insight from Marjorie Williams

Today’s “Just Common Sense” scans the headlines—shutdown politics, “No Kings” protests, global unrest—and asks a deeper question: is chaos our biggest problem, or is sin? Evangelist Marjorie Williams joins us to make the case that only Jesus cures the heart behind the headlines, calling listeners to repent, return to the Word, and re-engage the local church. We contrast a “No Kings” culture with Matthew 2’s King Jesus and anchor in Proverbs 2:7: God grants common sense and shields those who walk with integrity.
