Episode 14 - The I Ching is perhaps the earliest textbook on ‘psychology’ and ‘decision-making’ in human history.

Hi, I'm Lisa and welcome to Lisa wanna talk. Today, I invite you to step with me into a subject that stirs bothwonder and quiet curiosity—the I Ching.Let me begin with a thought that may gently unsettle what youexpect: the I Ching was never merely a book of fortune-telling. At its heart, it is a book of change—of movement, of transformation, of the subtle currents that shape our lives.More than that, it may well be one of humanity’s earliest and most profound reflections on the inner world—a timeless guide to how we perceive, choose, and act. Long before the language of modern psychology or decision theory was formed, this ancient text was already tracing the patterns of the human mind.So today, let us set aside the image of prophecy, and instead walk into this three-thousand-year-old landscape of wisdom. Together, we’ll explore how its quiet insights still echo in our modern lives—and what it might teach us about navigating change with clarity and grace. You are welcome to write or leave a comment, and it would be great if you could share or follow this [email protected] me or buy me a coffee: https://pay.firstory.me/user/lisawannatalk

Episode 13 - Emotional Hunger: Craving Love Without Knowing What We Need

Hi, I'm Lisa and welcome to Lisa wanna talk.Today, I’d like to talk about something abstract, yet deeply familiar to almost everyone: emotional hunger. You may have hundreds of contacts in your phone, swipe endlessly on dating apps, go on countless dates—and still feel a quiet, unfillable void in your heart. That restless ache is emotional hunger. It’s often misunderstood as being “too needy,” “too clingy,” or “too lonely.” But it’s not your fault. It’s a deep, psychological hunger—a whisper from the depths of your soul, asking to be seen, understood, and nurtured. You are welcome to write or leave a comment, and it would be great if you could share or follow this channel. [email protected] Support me or buy me a coffee: https://pay.firstory.me/user/lisawannatalk

Episode 12 - Secure Excitement: Finding Balance in the Early Stages of Love

Hi, I'm Lisa and welcome to Lisa wanna talk.Today, I’d like to explore a fascinating part of dating—the early phase when everything is new, thrilling, and a little unpredictable. Have you ever met someone who makes your heart race, feeling both joy and a quiet fear of getting hurt? We sometimes tell ourselves, “The more it hurts, the more I love them.”But there’s another way to experience this excitement—a concept from psychology called “Secure Excitement.” It’s the balance of thrill and safety, letting your heart flutter without losing its calm. You are welcome to write or leave a comment, and it would be great if you could share or follow this channel. [email protected] Support me or buy me a coffee: https://pay.firstory.me/user/lisawannatalk

    Episode 11 - Procrastination : It’s Not Laziness—Your Brain Is Protecting You

Hi, I'm Lisa and welcome to Lisa wanna talk.Today, I’d like to talk about a challenge almost all of us face—a problem we always seem to put off until tomorrow: Procrastination.Have you ever noticed this? Even when something important sits right in front of us, our brain acts like a stubborn child, finding every trivial task to keep us busy. Many people call procrastination “laziness,” but neuroscience tells a different story. It’s not about ability—it’s about emotion. At its core, procrastination isn’t a failure of time management; it’s a struggle with emotional regulation. You are welcome to write or leave a comment, and it would be great if you could share or follow this channel. [email protected] Support me or buy me a coffee:https://pay.firstory.me/user/lisawannatalk

Episode 10 - Emotional Intelligence: Beyond Pleasing Others, Toward Knowing Yourself

Hi, I'm Lisa and welcome to Lisa wanna talk.Today, I’d like to explore a familiar yet often misunderstood idea: emotional intelligence. It’s a term we hear everywhere—but rarely pause to truly understand. When you think of it, you might imagine someone effortlessly smooth, never upset, always keeping everyone pleased. But here’s a thought that may gently shift your perspective: emotional intelligence isn’t about how others see you—it’s about how you see yourself. It’s not just about keeping others comfortable, but about learning to be at ease within yourself, while still holding space for others. So today, let’s take a step back and re-examine this concept we think we know so well—and uncover what it really means beneath the surface. You are welcome to write or leave a comment, and it would be great if you could share or follow this channel. [email protected] Support me or buy me a coffee:https://pay.firstory.me/user/lisawannatalk

Episode 9 - The Modern Dating Dilemma: Love in the Swipe Generation

Hi, I'm Lisa and welcome to Lisa wanna talk.Today, let’s explore a question many of us quietly carry: how dowe find real connection in a world of endless swipes?Modern dating is something almost everyone experiences, yet few truly pause to understand. In theory, dating apps open the door to more people than ever before—far beyond what past generations could imagine. And yet, something feels off. More people are single, fewer are dating, and lonelinesslingers in the background. We have more choice than ever before… yet feel more uncertain than ever.So why is modern dating so difficult?Today, we’ll gently unpack this paradox and explore six keyreasons behind it. You are welcome to write or leave a comment, and it would be great if you could share or follow this channel. [email protected] Support me or buy me a coffee:https://pay.firstory.me/user/lisawannatalk

Episode 8 - The Courage to Be Disliked – An Introduction to Adlerian Psychology

Hi, I'm Lisa and welcome to Lisa wanna talk. Today, I’d like to explore a quietly radical idea: The Courage to Be Disliked — a simple introduction to Adlerian psychology. It’s a topic that runs deep, yet lives in our everyday moments—when we seek approval, hesitate, or question ourselves. We won’t be diving into Freud’s hidden subconscious or Jung’s archetypes. Instead, let’s turn to a warmer, quietly rebellious voice: Alfred Adler. He believed we are not bound by our past, but free to choose our path—and that in accepting not everyone will like us, we begin to truly live. You are welcome to write or leave a comment, and it would be great if you could share or follow this channel. [email protected] Support me or buy me a coffee: https://pay.firstory.me/user/lisawannatalk

Episode 7 - Ikigai : The Meaning of Life Lies Within You

Hi, I'm Lisa and welcome to Lisa wanna talk. Today, I’d like to gently open a conversation with you—about Ikigai, and the quiet question of what makes life feel worth living. Ikigai is a concept that comes from Japan, a word that doesn’t quite settle into any single translation. If we follow its literal meaning, it speaks of “a reason that makes one want to live.” Yet even that feels like only the surface of something deeper. It is the thing we all, in our own ways, are searching for—sometimes loudly, sometimes in silence. A sense of purpose. A quiet joy. A reason to rise, to continue, to be.And perhaps the most beautiful part is this: what we are searching for is not far away. It has always been there—softly waiting, somewhere within us.That,in essence, is Ikigai. You are welcome to write or leave a comment, and it would be great if you could share or follow this channel. [email protected] Support me or buy me a coffee: https://pay.firstory.me/user/lisawannatalk

Episode 6 - The Art of Conversation—a dance not only of speaking, but of listening.

Hi, I'm Lisa and welcome to Lisa wanna talk. Today, I’d like to linger with you for a moment on a quiet craftwe practice without noticing: the art of conversation—a dance not only ofspeaking, but of listening. We speak every day, scattering words like seeds, rarely pausing towonder how they take root in others. Yet true eloquence is not the charm of asilver tongue, nor the ease of pleasing every ear. It is something gentler, deeper—a skill shaped by attention, by patience, by practice. So today, let us turn toward three small doorways into thisart—three ways to let our words carry a little more weight, and a little morewarmth. You are welcome to write or leave a comment, and it would be greatif you could share or follow this [email protected] me or buy me a coffee:https://pay.firstory.me/user/lisawannatalk

Episode 5 - Goodreads | The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck: A Counterintuitive Approach to Living a Good Life | Part 2

Hi, I'm Lisa and welcome to Lisa wanna talk. Today's 5th episode will talk about the second half of a book that I personally love a lot, called " The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck: A Counterintuitive Approach to Living a Good Life ". Its main focus is self-growth, but it gets rid of the traditional concept of embracing positive thinking in the past, and uses a very straightforward dialogue to tell us that only by discarding incorrect expectations, honestly facing ourselves, and accepting all of ourselves, can we live freely. As there have been numerous summaries of the book, I will summaries the 6 highlights of the book that impressed me the most: 1. Be careful about behaviors that will feel good in the short term, and be more careful not to get addicted to yourself 2. Self-worth comes from the interpretation of one's own negative encounters 3. Responsible: Take responsibility for everything that happens to you, even if it's someone else's fault 4. Certainty: Certainty are the enemies of growth, and "uncertainty" allows us to focus on self-growth and self-exploration, and to abandon all established stereotypes 5. Do something, then the answer will follow 6. Freedom: The truly meaningful "freedom" is not about having unlimited choices, but about consciously choosing to have profound experiences within a limited range. Above is today's Goodreads of "The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck: A Counterintuitive Approach to Living a Good Life " part 2. Hi, I'm Lisa and welcome to Lisa wanna talk. Episode 3 - Goodreads | Time and how to spend it: the 7 rules for richer, happier days |

Hi, I'm Lisa and welcome to Lisa wanna talk. Today's third episode is about a book that I find helpful, about how to be good at time and create happy experiences. Goodreads: Time and how to spend it: the 7 rules for richer, happier days Author: James Wallman The author uses the word " STORIES " to help us memorize these 7 lists. Our lives are faced with choices all the time, and how to spend our time on choices that can lead to a happy experience, the STORIES list can be used to review and help us make decisions: 1. Story: Can the experience to be done be a good story? Would you like to hear stories like this from others? 2. Transformation: Will the experiences to be done cause you to change or progress? For example, learning new skills has changed more than watching TV. Transformation is also an important key to our sense of accomplishment. 3. Outside & Offline: Research points out that activities outdoors and off-line can directly improve people's mood. It's usually more enjoyable to go out than to stay home; and to minimize and over-create an image on social media, because it will make us lose the original purpose of life. 4. Relationships: You can choose the experience of being close to others. Relationships are an important source of happiness. 5. Intensity: Examine whether the intensity of the experience is sufficient. Engaging in experiences that are slightly above or near the limits of one's abilities is prone to “Flow”. 6. Extraordinary: Whether the experience to be done is special enough, the beginning of an experience, as well as the happiest moment, and the final ending, are important to our happy experience. 7. Status & Significance: The author emphasizes how important it is for the experience of happiness to be both 'beneficial to oneself and to others', as well as being healthy. Above is today's Goodreads about making good of time and creating happy experiences. You are welcome to write or leave a comment, and it would be great if you could share or follow this channel. Episode 2- Goodreads | Lifespan | Can We Reverse Aging?

Hi there, I'm Lisa Chang and welcome to Lisa wanna talk. Today's second episode is about a book that I think is very important, it's about ageing and longevity. The book is called [ Lifespan: Why We Age, and Why We Don't Have To ] and is due out in 2019. The authors are David Sinclair, Professor of Genetics and Co-Director of the Center for the Biology of Aging at Harvard Medical School, and Matthew LaPlante, Professor of Journalism at Utah State University. The book Lifespan can be divided into 3 parts. 1. Part 1 explains the biological background of ageing. The authors argue that ageing is actually a loss of information in our epigenome. This theory implies that we may be able to slow down the process of ageing or ultimately stop it altogether. 2. Part 2 discusses current research and therapeutic approaches. The authors suggest that our 'longevity gene' can be activated by calorie restriction, fasting, exercise and cold exposure, and that some of the associated medications may become part of future anti-ageing treatments. 3. Part 3 discusses the implications of longevity for the future of humanity. The book can be summarized in five key points: 1. Ageing is treatable: it is not inevitable. 2. The biological cause of ageing is the loss of information in the epigenome. Fixing such information deficits can help us fight ageing. 3. Calorie restriction or fasting can help us to live longer. 4. Physical activity is a positive stressor that activates the longevity gene, so it is important to exercise more. 5. Temperatures outside the comfort zone can also provide longevity benefits, such as short cold exposures or saunas. A number of possible future agents or molecules that could activate longevity are also described. For example, short-term administration of rapamycin can inhibit mTOR and prolong life in small experimental animals. AMPK can be activated with the diabetes drug metformin, which significantly reduces the risk of cancer. Finally, anti-ageing is achieved by boosting the function of sirtuins with NAD precursors such as NMN or NR. These are the highlights of today's Goodreads on ageing and longevity. Episode 1- Managing your network: 'Save it for the worthy'

Hi there, I'm Lisa Chang and welcome to Lisa wanna talk.On this channel I would like to share with you my life, what I find interesting in science, health information and the wisdom that has helped me to grow.I hope that whenever you listen to the title track later, you will feel the comfort of seeing an old friend. In today's first episode, I will talk to you about a lighter topic, socializing and friendship.1. Being alone is an ability that includes the ability to take care of oneself and the psychological quality of being able to enjoy silence, and is a prerequisite for loving oneself.2. Relationships should be left to the "worthy". The maintenance of relationships begins to subtract with time. If friends don't share a common language or values in the moment, every second they spend together will be a drain. To manage relationships, you should save your time for those who matter.3. There are three types of friends you should not keep: the first is a friend who is not happy for your happiness, the second is a friend who is always self-centered, and the third is a friend who is full of negative energy.4. Honestly examine whether you fall into one of these 3 categories of friends that you should not have. When you observe others, you are also observing yourself, and solving your own problems is solving your interpersonal problems.5. Friends who are ambiguous can cause us to spend more time observing or thinking about their true thoughts or motives, which can be time-consuming and often does not lead to clear answers. The most straightforward answer is to ask your own intuition. If your instincts tell you that this person is probably not happy for your well-being, they are probably not the kind of person you would want to keep as a close friend. This is what we are discussing today on the subject of social relationships and friendships. You are welcome to write or leave a comment, and it would be great if you could share or follow this [email protected] me or buy me a coffee:https://pay.firstory.me/user/lisawannatalk
