In our next OYE podcast edisode, we welcome our long-time regular customer and OYE supporter Johannes, aka Wallat Wallat. We're thrilled to have him on board with his good mood bringing mix perfect for kicking off summer. Johannes presents a wonderful, deep, and funky house mix, exclusively on vinyl. Wallat Wallat is a Berlin based vinyl DJ with a broad musical taste and a passion for classic house and anything with a groove. Growing up in the vibrant hip-hop culture of the 90s in West Germany, that influence still echoes in the sounds he gravitates toward today. His sets unfold as journeys, blending different styles and eras of house music with occasional turns into boogie, electro or techno territory, all connected through moving bass lines, sharp percussions, catchy vocals and an irresistible groove. Aside from playing records across town and digging through dusty record bins he curates the event series Slices and Westfalo Disco and hosts the long-running music show Kontrabass at acclaimed online radio station ByteFM. A vinyl only mix, that is perfect to dance away that grey in grey! Perfect for everybody, that is a moody feeling these days. Do You Know Juno is a vinyl DJ who approaches every set as a story—shaped by jazz roots that bind the entire journey, deep rhythmic sensibilities, and a strong reverence for the Detroit and Chicago lineage with a contemporary twist. Her sound lives in the continuum of jazz dance music: from spiritual and fusion jazz through disco, broken beat, and soulful house into Detroit’s machine-soul traditions. Anchored in jazz phrasing, improvisation, and swing, she channels the soulful percussiveness of Detroit house as well as complex organic sounds from nu-jazz while drawing equally from disco’s rich musicality and Chicago house’s raw groove and even acid. These influences become narrative tools—each record a chapter, each transition a plot shift—strings meeting drum machines, live instrumentation dissolving into analog textures, warm chords flowing into gritty rhythms. Classic disco and soulful house surface naturally in between, creating emotionally coherent arcs that fuse timeless musicianship with forward-thinking dance floor energy. We're thrilled to welcome our next guest to our OYE podcast series. Just in time for his new release on OYE Records. Carl will be releasing a new solo EP titled Baby G in November 2025. Over the past few years, his unique approach to blend a wide range of dance music styles has taken him across Germany’s club and festival circuit. From Disco, Electro, Funk, and House to Ghettotech, Hip hop, Punk, and even Rock – Carl leaves no genre untouched, as long as it moves the dancefloor. He has released several hip hop albums as part of the duo Hang & Otto, and explored G-Funk with Wall Ra under the name Wall Ra & CeeCee. It has a dreamy and light structure, it flows… Including some all-time classics this is a must listen piece of music. Berlin based DJ & Producer Kat Davids' selections are inspired by the depth of Detroit, Body-High Dub house, Deep house and Dub techno. Whether holding a tight atmosphere at a club or letting loose at festivals - always striving to allow people to lose oneself in a musical journey for a night. With an intimate space that feels raw and honest, Kats’ music is characterized by her own vocals, field recordings, playful percussions and driving bass lines. Her releases “dust” on Intercept Records, the single “Haunted” on Tresor Records, and a collaboration track with Cecilia Tosh on the Nachtdigital Vinyl LP, will be followed by her debut Vinyl EP in 2025. She has played at some well-known institutions such as Tresor, Watergate, Revier Südost, ELSE Club, Weltspiele Hannover and toured in Latin America and South Africa with diverse DJ gigs and DJ Workshops. Since her LIVE Set debut at Berghain / Säule 2024, she had LIVE appearances at festivals like Nachtdigital. Since November 2022, she has hosted her own regular show on the well-established THF Radio Berlin, featuring over 50 guests ranging from newcomers to legends. In the summer of 2022, she also founded the FLINTA* collective V.A. Femme* with the aim of fostering mutual support and providing a space to learn and exchange musically. Next up in our OYE podcast series is Irakli. He surprises us with a rather unusual house mix. Since he's usually known for techno or ambient sets, we really like this. A truly summery mix that immediately puts you in a good mood. Perfect for these gloomy times we're currently living in. Originally from Georgia, Irakli’s early descent into the German capital has seen him corner and develop a side of the local scene and turn it into something of an international fare. He created STAUB, one of Berlin’s most celebrated techno parties. As a part of the production duo I/Y, he has been releasing music under the synonymous co-founded label. But most of all, Irakli’s craft behind the decks has been weighed upon by the likeliest of Berlin’s underground venues, namely Tresor, Berghain and Griessmuehle, with his vision of electronic music taken further afield in Europe, and the Americas. In 2017 he founded the Intergalactic Research Institute for Sound with artists like Stanislav Tolkachev, Natalie Beridze, Rezo Glonti and many others. Irakli also heads up a burgeoning convey diving into exploratory concepts of ambient, hued by the tones and colors of his homeland, Georgia. Adding orchestral collaborations and sound installations to a field of work outside of the club, Irakli’s expanding platforms and industrious connection to Berlin has seen his entry point into the scene now serve as an outlet into the more abstract, experimental realms of techno. With new endeavors afoot and a creative repertoire to boot, Irakli’s DJ sets, labels and parties always display unique qualities. Our dear friend Subradeon is the next for our OYE Podcast series. This 3 hours mix is a live recording from our OYE night at Renate. Number 15 of our OYE Podcast Series is coming from Willem aka Rasval, who recorded a vinyl only mix under his new alias ‚Willem‘, which focuses more into House and Dub-House and will be a platform for his musical outcome in these genres.    Grown up in a little town in the middle of Mecklenburg Pomerania, William has been socialized in his teen age by several surrounded electronic music events. In an exciting development for OYE Records, the renowned Berlin record shop is set to relaunch with an anticipated debut EP from fast-rising local artist LACATY . LACATY's journey into the industry began through a serendipitous meeting with an OYE team member through Femme Bass Mafia and eventually found their own paths. As the idea of releasing a debut EP came up, it felt natural for LACATY and them to join forces. Relocating to London marked a pivotal moment in LACATY's career. Immersed in the city's vibrant energy, she was among a select group chosen for the AVA Creator Forum, where she honed her skills and creative practice. The distance from Berlin's social scene provided the mental space to fully develop her ideas, resulting in a debut EP. "I wanted to create what I play – tracks that are not only energetic and punchy but also filled with emotion," LACATY shared. "Being in London, away from the familiar Berlin vibe, allowed my sound to evolve naturally, unconfined by genre expectations." Designed to heat up any dance floor, all three tracks feel like an ode to the vibrant 90s music scene. Next one for our OYE Podcast series is good friend and long time OYE customer Sara Miller. We are very happy to have her on board with such a good mood bringing mix, perfect to welcome summer. Sara Miller is an Irish-born DJ, producer and sound engineer based in Berlin. Her party series Naive Melodies began in the Kreuzberg club Kleine Reise in 2012, before upping USB sticks and moving to Loftus Hall and STATTBAD. Through years as a product of her own parties and regular appearances at Berlin's legendary Renate, Sara honed her craft for extended sets with genre-bending selections. Over the past years, she has continued to play at many of Berlin's most respected clubs including Watergate, About Blank and ELSE as well as establishing her name across Europe and beyond. Her debut track Orange Sea, released in mid-2021 on the Munich label Permanent Vacation, has gained considerable momentum since its release including support from Roman Flügel and Jennifer Cardini. Sara’s debut EP “Lunar Theory” will be released in May 2023 on Permanent Vacation. On the EP's four tracks, Sara has drawn inspiration from her broad musical knowledge and years of DJing experience and party wizardry. You can detect influences from classic 90's house, breakbeat, Italo and Acid in her tracks, all combined into a fresh and sparkling result. But music is not the only source of inspiration for this notorious night owl; nighttime and its celestial companion, the moon, are equally important to Sara’s work. Head of the newly minted, queer identifying VRAAA label and a celebrated protagonist on Berlin’s most sexually liberated dancefloor, Pornceptual, Projekt Gestalten is the identity of Brazilian techno producer and DJ, Diego Garcia. Exploring pornography as an artform with the Pornceptual collective for more than five years now, their ringside promotion of events and parties globally has seen Garcia’s divergent agenda encourage and inspire its guests to freely explore their sexuality. It took to a point where a recent Boiler Room in partnership with the collective was deemed too explicit for YouTube before finding vindication on PornHub. Adorning their DJ sets in various forms of white wedding dresses and baroque embroidery, Projekt Gestalten’s sexual-kinks, queer desire and bold feminine spirit flaunts a unrivaled promiscuity of tongue-in-cheek tawdry that’s pushing techno music and its artistic, sexual appetites that much further. A figurehead within Berlin’s queer techno scene, and diamond in the rough of ‘twenty-tens’ Netlabel culture, Projekt Gestalten’s exploratory conquest of melodic, harmonic and hypnotic sounds is starting to spread around. For many people, it was at this point that XDB appeared on their radar. He has no shortage of technical skill but it’s his selection that truly shines – putting the music itself at the forefront, letting songs breathe when need be, and delivering plenty of head-scratching ‘what the hell is this track?’ moments. It’s on this that Kosta has built his reputation. When it comes to producing, Kosta favours a slow and steady work rate, opting to focus on quality control rather than record shop ubiquity. His DJing keeps him in the public eye, but one gets the sense that XDB prefers to operate in the shadows. There’s a refreshing lack of gimmickry to his approach – keeping it low-key allows him to be judged solely on the basis of talent. Arguably, it’s an innate quality – the way he wants to play it; the way that brings him most satisfaction, but it’s helped establish his reputation as an artist of considerable merit, winning the approval his audience and peers, alike.
