"Recovering First Love" (Revelation 2:1-7) — Teddy Lee
In this sermon, Pastor Teddy Lee from City on a Hill, unpacks Revelation 2:1–7, where Jesus is calling out the church in Ephesus—a church known for its sound doctrine, faithful service, and perseverance. Yet despite all of their commendable qualities, Jesus lovingly confronts them with one sobering concern: they had forsaken their first love. This passage invites us to examine the condition of our own lives, repent where necessary, and return to the simple joy of loving Jesus above all else. Ultimately, this is a call not merely to right belief or faithful ministry, but to a relationship with Christ that remains our deepest affection and greatest delight.Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/passionchurchcaWebsite: https://www.passionchurch.ca/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/passionchurchca

"Firstfruits—Part 1" (Proverbs 3:5-10) — Jeremy Palattao
Many of us live with a scarcity mindset—the fear that there won't be enough, that we need to hold tightly to what we have, and that our security ultimately depends on us. Yet throughout Scripture, God invites His people into a different way of living: one marked by trust, surrender, and abundance. In this five-week series, we'll explore what the Bible teaches about stewardship, generosity, and God's provision. We'll discover that everything we have ultimately belongs to God, that our resources reveal what we treasure most, and that giving is not primarily about money but about worship and trust. As we learn to place God first, release our grip on control, and participate in His mission, we'll find that His grace transforms fearful hearts into joyful, open-handed people. What if the first thing you gave revealed more about your trust than the amount you gave? In Week 3 of From Scarcity to Abundance, we explore the biblical principle of firstfruits and discover that giving God our first is an act of worship and trust. As we examine what it means to seek God's Kingdom first, we'll see that generosity isn't about giving God what's left over—it's about surrendering our first and best to the One who faithfully provides.Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/passionchurchcaWebsite: https://www.passionchurch.ca/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/passionchurchca

"Where Your Treasure Is" (Matthew 6:19-24)

In Week 2 of From Scarcity to Abundance, we unpack Jesus' words in Matthew 6 and discover that what we treasure ultimately shapes who we become. As we examine the relationship between worship, money, and the heart, we'll see how generosity becomes a practical way of redirecting our loves toward God and investing in what truly lasts.Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/passionchurchcaWebsite: https://www.passionchurch.ca/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/passionchurchca

"God Owns It All" (Psalm 24:1-2) — Jeremiah Modino
Many of us live with a scarcity mindset—the fear that there won't be enough, that we need to hold tightly to what we have, and that our security ultimately depends on us. Yet throughout Scripture, God invites His people into a different way of living: one marked by trust, surrender, and abundance. In this five-week series, we'll explore what the Bible teaches about stewardship, generosity, and God's provision. As we learn to place God first, release our grip on control, and participate in His mission, we'll find that His grace transforms fearful hearts into joyful, open-handed people. In Week 1 of our series From Scarcity to Abundance, we explore the foundational truth that everything belongs to God. Looking at Psalm 24, we'll discover how stewardship begins not with what we give, but with what we surrender. As we release our grip on control and embrace our role as stewards rather than owners, we learn to trust God's provision and live with greater freedom, peace, and generosity.Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/passionchurchcaWebsite: https://www.passionchurch.ca/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/passionchurchca

"Led by the Spirit, Formed in Christ" (Romans 8:14-30) — Nathan Johnston
Pentecost is often called the “birthday of the Church,” because it’s the first time the Spirit dwells within believers collectively, the Gospel is proclaimed publicly, and a Spirit-formed community is launched into mission. It’s the moment where waiting turns into empowerment—where God’s presence moves from being with His people to being within His people, for the sake of the world. But before God pours out His Spirit, He prepares a people—through surrender, formation, and faithful waiting. So as we begin this series, we’re asking a simple but honest question: If God wanted to pour out His Spirit here… would we be ready to receive? In this sermon, Pastor Nathan, from Broadway Church, unpacks Romans 8:14-30.Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/passionchurchcaWebsite: https://www.passionchurch.ca/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/passionchurchca

"Overcoming Evil Without Fear" (Romans 12:9-21) — Jeremiah Modino
Right now in our world, we’re living in a time where anxiety feels constant—there’s pressure to figure out our future, hold everything together, and not fall behind. At the same time, the cost of living is rising, and the world feels more divided than ever. Anxiety isn’t just something we feel anymore—it’s the atmosphere we live in. In this series, A Non-Anxious Faith, we journey through Romans 12, to discover what life looks like when fear no longer defines us because Jesus is Risen. Easter reveals that our deepest fears—of losing control, identity, security, and justice—are answered in Christ, inviting us into a new way of living marked by trust, surrender, and peace. In week 3, Overcoming Evil without Fear, Pastor Jeremiah in this message, we explore what it looks like to trust the risen Jesus in our relationships: to not escalate conflict, to forgive without losing dignity, and to overcome evil with good. It’s easy to respond to conflict with more conflict — to retaliate, protect, and fight back. But in Romans 12:9–21, we’re given a radically different vision: a life marked by love without retaliation. This is what resurrection-shaped love looks like — not the absence of anxiety, but a life no longer ruled by it.

"Marriage: A Mutual Agreement" (A Conversation) — Matt & Kat Johnson
In a culture full of confusion about love, relationships, and identity, Scripture calls us back to something deeper and more beautiful: love shaped by Jesus.“How We Love” explores what it means to relate to one another through the lens of the gospel — not driven by culture, fear, or self-fulfillment, but transformed by Christ. In this conversation with Pastors Matt &Kat Johnson (From Every Nation Surrey) they unpack and share from their life and experience a Biblical and Christ-Centred Vision on Marriage. Society often treats marriage as a contract for personal happiness, whereas the Bible reveals it as a covenant rooted in sacrifice, faithfulness, and grace.Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/passionchurchcaWebsite: https://www.passionchurch.ca/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/passionchurchca

"Spiritual Waterways" (Assorted Scripture) — Jeremiah Modino
In this year’s Advent series, we’re guiding our community back to the heart of the first Christmas. Jesus being born in a manger carries far more weight than we often realize. A manger was a place for animals to drink water, and that small detail in the Nativity story deepens the significance of Jesus’ conversation with the woman at the well, where He reveals Himself as the ‘Living Water.’Over these two weeks, we’re inviting our community to reimagine what it means to live as missionaries right here in our own city. What does it look like for us to ‘dig wells’—to create spaces and opportunities for people around us to access this Living Water?Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/passionchurchcaWebsite: https://www.passionchurch.ca/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/passionchurchca

"It's About Time!" (Proverbs 26:16-19) — Chris Kong
What does it mean for a Christ-follower to bear “seeded fruit” versus “seedless fruit”?It’s possible to live what feels like a “Christian life” and even believe you’re “producing fruit”—but the hard truth is that many self-identifying Christians don’t put intentional effort into their apprenticeship to Jesus beyond attending a Sunday gathering.Do you rise early to seek the Lord? Do you engage Scripture for yourself instead of only relying on Sunday sermons? Do you take initiative to build relationships with those far from Christ, while also cultivating friendships that draw you closer to Him?And what does it really mean to “make disciples who make disciples who make disciples”? It’s a call to view apprenticeship to Jesus with a generational lens. Our prayer for these two teachings is that, as a church, we would be stirred to actively take ownership of our faith and live it out with intention.Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/passionchurchcaWebsite: https://www.passionchurch.ca/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/passionchurchca

"Risen King & Glorious Saviour" (Mark 14:66-72) — Jeremiah Modino
The reality of Jesus’ Kingship and Messiahship was not what the Jews expected. The people expected a Davidic-like king that would conquer, liberate and overthrow the Roman Empire, whereas Jesus chose to die on a Roman cross. Jesus’s life and ministry would subvert the powers and authorities of sin and death in a way no one expected, and even Jesus’ own disciples did not fully comprehend until after the resurrection. In this series, we’ll unpack the passion narrative, and how at every point, the people around Jesus never understood His mission, and what He was ultimately seeking to accomplish. In present day life, many Christians look to things to fulfill them in place of what only Jesus can—good deeds, moralism, church activity, hard work; the list goes on… The reality is, there can only be one Saviour in our life, and that is Jesus Christ of Nazareth.
