Political Pursuits: The Podcast
by Lou Ann Anderson
Political Pursuits: The Podcast, hosted by Lou Ann Anderson, takes a look at the political gamesmanship pursued throughout our country, throughout even our world. We curate political news and current events – and do it with an eye for not just who is making certain moves, but also for what the moves mean, why they matter and how an opponent might react. For better or worse, all of these characteristics are trackable and in evidence with regard to the gamesmanship seen in today’s political landscapes. We hope you’ll join us at Political Pursuits as we offer our bent on how today’s issues are impacted in this game-playing environment. The game is afoot! louannanderson.substack.com

The California Communist and the Minnesota Marxist
Think freedom isn’t on the November ballot? Think again as the principles of liberty - principles on which this country was founded - are challenged in the form of a California Communist and a Minnesota Marxist. Stated differently, personified in the form of Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris and her running mate Tim Walz, a life-ending threat of America as we know it is real and potentially looming.Lou Ann Anderson of Political Pursuits and Lynn Woolley of Planet Logic discuss what’s at stake along with the power alliance of Donald Trump, J.D. Vance and now Robert Kennedy, Jr.As an important coalition of freedom fighters emerges to again make America great, healthy, prosperous, safe and so much more, Harris seems dedicated to avoiding media interactions and to taking no serious positions on the policies and issues about which voters care most.Hope you’ll join Lynn and Lou Ann for their take on a pivotal election poised for many more twists and turns as November approaches. The World the Way It Is
Financial markets are tanking, Middle East tensions are escalating and the American political system is in a cycle unlike any other ever seen. The Democrats are skipping steps in our traditional electoral process. Tenets once seen as basic, even sacred, no longer seem to apply. Things like robust competition between candidates, basic consent of the governed regarding rules and process, the opportunity to cast one’s vote for those ostensibly tapped to represent your interests. These items are evidently passé since “the future is now.”These “shortcuts” are creating an electoral environment that threatens the rights and future freedom of all Americans – regardless of party, ideology or even interest in politics. Lou Ann Anderson of Political Pursuits and Lynn Woolley of Planet Logic break down today’s headlines including their analysis of potential Democratic vice president candidates. They discuss the way the world is today and what might be ahead.Lou Ann Anderson worked in central Texas talk radio as both a host and producer and currently hosts Political Pursuits: The Podcast. From College to Kindergarten Your Tax Dollars at Work
Look at the madness on college campuses these day with the antisemitic, pro-Hamas protests and ask yourself: What am I getting in return for my tax dollars that support these left-wing schools? Then, think about your local schools where the top-heavy administration eats up more of your taxes, and yet so many students cannot read at grade level. Lou Ann Anderson of Political Pursuits and Lynn Woolley of Planet Logic discuss how bad the situation is, and what you can do about it – if anything.Within the podcast they mention a couple of specific articles. Texas School Choice and the Bellstocracy
Ahead of Texas’ March 5 primary, Planet Logic’s Lynn Woolley and Political Pursuits’ Lou Ann Anderson discuss the House District 55 race which pits incumbent Rep. Hugh Shine, R-Temple, against three challengers including Hillary Hickland, a ninth generation Texan, mother of four and school choice advocate. In this race of mounting intensity, school choice is a critical issue that also highlights Bell County’s changing local dynamics. Lynn and Lou Ann discuss these electoral factors as well as the public education industry’s 1-2 punch of encouraging Democrats to vote in the Republican primary while what seem as school district electioneering efforts promote similar actions with even public school industry allies like Raise Your Hand Texas getting in the act.Lou Ann Anderson is a writer, former radio producer and current podcaster at Political Pursuits. Awakening Lions
At this week’s World Economic Forum, Argentina President Javier Milei told the globalist gathering that his rise to power was a message of people desiring freedom. In response to his election he said that “I did not come here to guide lambs. I came here to awaken lions.”With that, Planet Logic’s Lynn Woolley joins Political Pursuits’ Lou Ann Anderson to discuss the “awakening” in evidence not just here in the U.S., but across the globe. One Giant Step for Tyranny
There’s much to be said for being a happy warrior but after this week, sometimes you just can’t quite get there. Indictments, arrests, nonsensical charges, politically-motivated prosecutions, suspensions of basic Constitutional rights and a multitude of additional assaults to life as we know it visibly looming on the horizon. Political Pursuit’s Lou Ann Anderson and Planet Logic’s Lynn Woolley discuss recent developments further catapulting our country toward totalitarianism. Some Americans are thankfully horrified with engaged patriots assessing their next steps and the more passive yet astute at least beginning to assess the need for concern. Others can’t be bothered while those with lackluster intellectual curiosity and/or minimalist if any loyalty to country populate a class best characterized as part of the problem. Join Lynn and Lou Ann for a look at the insanity of these dark times. Get full access to Political Pursuits at louannanderson.substack.com/subscribe

America Under Indictment
America is under indictment! Not just Trump. It’s you, me, our freedoms, our way of life, all we hold dear. As the administrative or “security state” feels its power being exposed and threatened, there seem no limits to its destructive sights trained on anyone perceived to be in the way. Planet Logic’s Lynn Woolley and Political Pursuit’s Lou Ann Anderson discuss President Trump’s indictments in comparison to the attempted burying (or dismissing) of corruption allegations associated with unindicted Joe Biden and his Biden Crime Family. Doubling Down on Double Standards?
Political Pursuits' Lou Ann Anderson and Planet Logic’s Lynn Woolley review the week’s news with an eye on the hypocrisy and karmic implications that loom. From newly-minted House of Representatives Speaker Kevin McCarthy to Joe Biden’s ever-growing classified document drama, they cover it all. Even a seemingly rigged (unless you are Fox News!) Brazilian presidential election and months of citizen protests (Fox News doesn't tell you about that!!) culminating in what’s being termed a J6-style “insurrection.” And indeed there are similarities -- provocateurs and a federal government playing its own nefarious role. Temple ISD Campaign Shows Tricks and Truths of Bond Elections
Bond elections are interesting animals. Local governments generally embark upon a best-foot-forward approach in convincing voters to take on new debt (i.e., higher taxes) ostensibly "for the good" of the community. But is that always the case? Lou Ann, Lynn Woolley and Stuart Speidel provide analysis of just how local governments work to sell taxpayers on increased bond liability. With school districts being the entity type that borrows more than any other local government category, Temple ISD's current campaign serves as a great example in discussing the tricks and truths of bond elections. Lou Ann discusses her recent Temple Daily Telegram Letter to the Editor which outlined three reasons to vote no. TISD: An Agent in Radical Social Order Reform?
The Temple Independent School District proudly promotes its participation in the Anti-Defamation League-sponsored No Place for Hate program. A deep dive into components of this program reveal it to be Critical Race Theory packaged under a different name. The Coordinator Handbook and Resource Guide reads as a community organizer’s social justice operations manual. Lou Ann discusses this and other information pulled from the NPFH website. TISD is currently asking voters to approve $174.9 million in bond packages which, with interest, will land closer to $260 million. When added to existing debt ($264.7 million), the new debt would basically double school taxpayers’ financial liability.
