Frederick Douglass and the Fourth of July
As the nation marks 250 years since the Declaration of Independence, this episode of Proclamation Station takes time to reflect on a powerful question raised by Reverend Frederick Douglass: “What to the Slave Is the Fourth of July?”Frederick Douglass was not only a world-renowned abolitionist, speaker, and author; he was also a licensed minister whose Christian convictions shaped his bold opposition to slavery. In his 1852 speech and in the appendix to his autobiography, Douglass exposed the wide gap between the pure Christianity of Jesus Christ and the hypocritical Christianity used to defend slavery in America. In this episode, we examine Frederick Douglass and the Fourth of July, What to the Slave Is the Fourth of July, and the biblical call to reject oppression, hypocrisy, and false religion. We also reflect on the sobering truth behind the phrase “not 250, but 161”: while America may celebrate 250 years of national independence in 2026, descendants of enslaved African Americans can only point to 161 years of legal freedom at best, beginning with the adoption of the 13th Amendment in 1865.Together, we consider Douglass’s Christian perspective, his critique of slaveholding religion, and his conviction that the true Gospel of Jesus Christ could never support the buying, selling, or oppression of human beings.Listen now and join us for a thoughtful reflection on freedom, faith, history, and the Christianity of Christ.

Husbands, Love Your Wives Like Christ
Husbands, God has called us to love our wives with a love that reflects the love of Christ. In Ephesians 5, husbands are commanded to love their wives as Christ loved the church and gave Himself for her. That kind of love is patient, kind, forgiving, sacrificial, and committed to peace. In this episode of Proclamation Station, we discuss how husbands can reduce and prayerfully eliminate unnecessary arguments in the home by learning to listen carefully, speak gently, control the tongue, and treat their wives with kindness and respect. Scripture reminds us to be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to become angry, because a harsh word can stir up conflict, but a gentle answer can turn away wrath.Together, we look at ***Christian marriage*** through the biblical command for ***husbands to love their wives*** as Christ loved the church. Through passages such as Ephesians 5, 1 Corinthians 13, James 1:19, Colossians 3:19, Proverbs 15:1, and 1 Peter 3:7, we consider practical ***biblical marriage advice*** for husbands who want to stop unnecessary arguing and help build a peaceful, Christ-centered home.Listen now and be encouraged to love your wife like Christ, guard your words, and build a home marked by grace, respect, and peace.

What Made The Prodigal Son’s Father Great
Happy Father's Day to all fathers and father figures. Today we honor the men who have loved, guided, protected, provided for, and cared for the families entrusted to them. While there is no perfect manual for fatherhood, Jesus gave us a powerful example in the parable of the Prodigal Son.In this episode of Proclamation Station, we take a closer look at the father in Luke 15 and explore the qualities that made him truly great. He allowed his younger son to learn difficult lessons through the consequences of his choices, yet he never stopped loving him. When his son returned home in repentance, the father responded with compassion, forgiveness, restoration, and grace. He also lovingly corrected his older son, teaching him the importance of mercy, forgiveness, and reconciliation.Together, we discuss wisdom, stewardship, repentance, forgiveness, family restoration, and the powerful love that reflects the heart of our Heavenly Father. We also examine how both sons needed guidance and healing, and how the father's response provides a model for families today.Listen now and discover what made the Prodigal Son's father great—and what fathers, families, and believers can learn from his example.

Why Children Matter to Jesus
Children's Day is often overlooked, but throughout His earthly ministry, Jesus consistently demonstrated how valuable children are in the eyes of God. He welcomed them, blessed them, protected them, and even used them as examples to teach adults important spiritual lessons. In this episode of Proclamation Station, we explore what Scripture reveals about Jesus' love for children and why He pointed to their humility, trust, sincerity, and teachable spirit as qualities that please God. Through passages such as Matthew 18, Matthew 21, Luke 9, and Mark 10, we discover that children are far more important to God's Kingdom than many people realize.Together, we discuss why Jesus defended children, why He warned against causing them harm, and what adults can learn from the childlike faith He repeatedly praised. We also reflect on our responsibility to love, respect, encourage, and care for the young people God has entrusted to us.Listen now and be reminded why children matter to Jesus—and why they should matter to us as well

What Will Your Memorial Be?
As we honor the sacrifices of those who gave their lives in service to our country, we are reminded to reflect on our own lives and ask an important question: What will our memorial be?In this episode of Proclamation Station, we examine the account of the woman who poured expensive perfume on Jesus in Matthew 26:6–13. While others criticized her sacrifice, Jesus declared that her act of love and devotion would be remembered wherever the Gospel is preached. More than two thousand years later, His words have proven true.Together, we explore what it means to live purposefully for Christ, why faithful service is sometimes misunderstood by others, and how the lives we touch may become the memorials we leave behind. Whether or not our names are remembered by history, our actions can leave a lasting impact on our families, our communities, and the Kingdom of God.Listen now and be encouraged to give your best to the Master and consider the question: What will your memorial be?

Is The World Going To End Now?
Is the world about to end?For generations, people have tried to predict the end of the world. From Harold Camping to Nostradamus and others, countless predictions have come and gone—yet Scripture warns believers not to be deceived by fear, speculation, or false prophecy. In this episode of Proclamation Station, we examine what the Bible actually says about the end times, the Rapture, and the Second Coming of Jesus Christ. Together, we discuss why no one knows the day or the hour, why the days of Noah still matter prophetically, and why believers are called to stay spiritually ready rather than obsess over dates and predictions.Jesus taught that His return would come unexpectedly—like a thief in the night. Instead of living in fear, believers are called to remain faithful, watchful, and prepared.Listen now and be encouraged to trust God, stay ready, and focus on faithfully following Christ.

How Can I Share My Faith?
Many believers want to share their faith but feel nervous, unprepared, or afraid of rejection. The good news is that there is no single “perfect” way to tell others about Jesus. In this episode of Proclamation Station, we explore practical and biblical ways to share your faith with confidence, humility, and love. Your testimony is personal, and you are the most qualified person to tell the story of what God has done in your life.We discuss how to overcome fear, how to approach people respectfully, and how to trust the Holy Spirit to open doors for meaningful conversations. We also explore simple tools like preparing your testimony, living a godly life before others, and understanding the Romans Road to Salvation.Jesus calls every believer to be a witness (Matthew 28:18–20; Acts 1:8), but sharing the gospel does not require perfection—only faithfulness. If you’ve ever wondered how to start conversations about your faith or worried that you don’t know enough, this episode will encourage and equip you to share the love of Christ with others.Listen now and be encouraged to let your light shine.

The Two Mothers Who Saved Moses

At the same time, an Egyptian princess, moved by compassion, made a decision that would change history.Together, their actions reveal how God works through faith, courage, and compassion to accomplish His divine purpose.Through Exodus 2:1–10, we see that even in uncertain and dangerous moments, God’s unseen hand is at work—bringing together unlikely people to shape the future. This episode is for anyone facing difficult decisions, uncertain outcomes, or moments that require both faith and compassion. Why Faithful Pastors Need Your Support
Why do faithful pastors need the support of their congregation? In this episode of Proclamation Station, we explore the weight and responsibility carried by pastors who faithfully serve God’s people. While no one is perfect—including those called to lead—Scripture makes it clear that faithful spiritual leadership is both a calling and a burden that requires strength, endurance, and accountability before God.From the example of Moses to the instructions given to the early church, we see the importance of encouraging, honoring, and supporting those who lead with integrity and truth. When that support is missing, it can create unnecessary strain and hinder the work God has called them to do.At the same time, this support is rooted in godly leadership—not blind allegiance, but a shared commitment to God’s Word and His purpose.Scripture calls believers to respect and uphold faithful leaders (1 Timothy 5:17; Hebrews 13:17), while living in peace and unity with one another (1 Thessalonians 5:12–13).If you’ve ever wondered what your role is in supporting your pastor—or why it matters—this episode offers biblical insight and practical perspective.Listen now and be encouraged to strengthen your church community.

What You Miss When You Skip Church
What do believers miss when they drift away from church? In this episode of Proclamation Station, we explore the blessings many people overlook when they skip gathering with other believers. Just as athletes grow through coaching, practice, and teamwork, believers grow stronger when they learn, serve, and walk alongside a church family.Church is more than a building or weekly routine—it is a place to grow in faith, receive encouragement, learn God’s Word, pray for one another, and stay spiritually strong.Scripture reminds us not to give up meeting together, but to encourage one another all the more (Hebrews 10:25).When we disconnect, we often miss more than we realize. If you’ve ever questioned whether church attendance still matters, this episode will challenge and encourage you to rediscover the value of belonging to a church family.Listen now and discover what you may be missing.

Lord, Help Me Control My Tongue
Why is it so hard to control what we say?We all start life learning how to speak as children—but somewhere along the way, things can go downhill. Too often, we speak before we think, saying things we later wish we could take back.In this episode of Proclamation Station, we explore the power of our words and the impact they can have on our lives and the lives of others. Scripture reminds us that the tongue has the power of life and death (Proverbs 18:21), yet so often we struggle to pause and think before we speak. The Bible warns us about the danger of an uncontrolled tongue—but it also gives us hope. We are not left to manage our words on our own. God is ready to help us guard our speech and use our words to build others up.If you’ve ever wished you could hold your tongue just a little longer, this episode will encourage you to seek God’s help in speaking with wisdom, patience, and purpose.Listen now and discover how to bring your words under God’s control.

Is There Proof of Eternal Life?
Is there real proof that eternal life exists—or is it something we simply believe? In this episode of Proclamation Station, we explore the evidence behind everlasting life, from the testimony of those who saw the risen Christ to the personal transformation experienced by believers today. If hundreds witnessed Jesus alive after His resurrection (1 Corinthians 15:6), and He promised a place prepared for those who believe (John 14:2–3), what does that mean for us?Is eternal life just a hope—or is it something we can truly know?Listen now and explore the evidence for yourself.

Forgiven Before You Even Sin
Did Jesus die only for the sins we’ve already committed—or also for the ones we have yet to commit? In this episode of Proclamation Station, we explore the depth of God’s grace and what it truly means that Jesus died once for all sin. Scripture reminds us that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us (Romans 5:8), and that His sacrifice was complete. But this raises an important question: If grace covers all sin, what keeps us from continuing in it? The Bible makes it clear that grace is not a license to sin, but a call to a transformed life.God’s love not only saves us, but also sustains us. Through Christ, we receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need, and we are guided to grow in righteousness. This episode will challenge and encourage you to better understand the power of God’s grace, the seriousness of sin, and the new life we are called to live.Listen now and discover what it truly means to be forgiven—past, present, and future.

What Must I Do To Be Saved
When Christians talk about being “saved,” it can sound unfamiliar or even confusing. What does salvation really mean, and how does it change a person’s life?In this episode of Proclamation Station, we explore the question, “What must I do to be saved?”—the same question asked in Scripture when a jailer encountered the power of God (Acts 16:30–31).The Bible teaches that all have sinned and fallen short of God’s glory, yet God offers the gift of eternal life through Jesus Christ (Romans 3:23; 6:23). This message is clearly laid out through what many call the Roman Road to salvation, showing how faith in Jesus leads to new life.A powerful example of this transformation is found in the life of the Apostle Paul. Once a persecutor of Christians, Paul encountered Jesus and experienced a radical life change (Acts 9:1–6).Salvation is both simple and profound. It is not something we earn, but something we receive by faith in Jesus Christ.Listen now and discover how true faith leads to a transformed life and the gift of eternal salvation.

What Memorial Will You Leave Your Children?
In the book of Joshua, God instructed the Israelites to set up twelve stones after crossing the Jordan River. The stones served as a memorial so that when future generations asked about them, parents could explain how the Lord had brought His people safely through the waters (Joshua 4:1–9).In this episode of Proclamation Station, we reflect on the memorials we are leaving for our own children. The Bible teaches that faith should be passed from one generation to the next, as “one generation commends your works to another” and tells of the mighty things God has done (Psalm 145:4).What stories of God’s faithfulness are we preserving for our families? Our testimonies, our example, and our willingness to speak about God’s goodness can become the memorial stones that guide our children toward Him.Scripture reminds us of the responsibility we carry to teach the next generation and to “start children off on the way they should go” (Proverbs 22:6). The legacy we leave behind—our faith, our words, and our example—may become the very guideposts that point them toward Christ.Tomorrow is not promised. While we still have time, let us faithfully tell our children about the goodness of God and the salvation found in Jesus Christ.Listen now and be encouraged to leave a legacy of faith that helps guide the next generation toward heaven.

We Are God’s Customer Service Counter: Representing Christ Daily
As followers of Jesus Christ, we are called to represent Him in every interaction. Whether we are sharing the gospel with non-believers or encouraging fellow believers, our words and actions reflect the God we serve. In this episode of Proclamation Station, we explore what it means to live as visible representatives of Christ in a world that is constantly watching. Jesus commands us to make disciples (Matthew 28:19–20) and to strengthen one another in faith (Luke 22:32). That responsibility means we must remember that we are not simply speaking for ourselves—we are representing Him.In many ways, every believer serves as God’s representative to the world—a kind of spiritual customer service counter for the Kingdom of God. The way we treat people, respond to challenges, and demonstrate grace can either draw others toward Christ or push them away.Scripture reminds us that we are Christ’s ambassadors (2 Corinthians 5:20), called to serve with humility, patience, and love. God does not ask for a minimal or satisfactory performance. Instead, He calls us to pursue excellence in how we serve Him and how we treat His children. This episode will challenge us to examine how well we represent Christ in our daily lives and encourage us to strive for something greater than simply getting by.If you desire to live as a faithful ambassador for Christ and reflect His love in every encounter, this conversation is for you. Listen now and be encouraged to represent the Lord well in everything you do.

Black Christian History: Mary Elizabeth Lange
Mother Mary Elizabeth Lange arrived in Baltimore from Haiti by way of Cuba in 1813, a free woman of color determined to serve others. Her mission began with education, but her faith-driven commitment to justice reached far beyond the classroom. At a time when most Black people in America were still enslaved, Lange worked courageously to provide opportunity and dignity to those denied both. She uplifted orphans, widows, the sick, the poor, and the marginalized, rising above the obstacles she faced as an immigrant and a Black woman in early 19th-century America.Recognizing that Black women were excluded from recognized ministry roles within the Catholic Church, she founded the Oblate Sisters of Providence in 1829 — the first sustained religious order for women of African descent in the United States. In the 19th century, the sisters’ schools and ministries spread into states such as Pennsylvania, Louisiana, Kansas, Missouri, and Washington, D.C.Today, the order continues its work in Maryland (Baltimore), Florida (Miami), and New York (Buffalo), as well as overseas in Costa Rica (Alajuela and Siquirres). The sisters’ ongoing ministries reflect Lange’s vision of education, service, and Gospel-centered justice. In this episode, we explore the faith, perseverance, and leadership of Mary Elizabeth Lange and reflect on her enduring legacy in Black Christian history through education and compassionate ministry.Listen, subscribe, and share.

Black Christian History: Jarena Lee
Although Jarena Lee, an African American woman, was born free during a time when slavery defined the nation, her life journey was anything but easy. A self-taught scholar and preacher, she faced relentless opposition because of both her race and her gender. Even after convincing church leaders that her call to preach was genuine, her challenges did not cease.Lee traveled long distances—often on foot—and delivered hundreds of sermons each year. Black Christian History: Bishop Richard Allen
“Why can’t we have our own church?” That question stood at the heart of a painful and defining moment in American church history. Reverend Richard Allen and other African American worshippers at St. George’s Methodist Church in Philadelphia were forced to confront discrimination when they were manhandled and ordered to sit in a newly established segregated section during worship. Rather than accept humiliation, they walked out. From that courageous decision grew a movement that would shape generations. Richard Allen would go on to help found what became the African Methodist Episcopal (AME) Church, creating a place where Black believers could worship freely, lead boldly, and serve God without discrimination.Today, many of us worship in churches built on the sacrifices of those who refused to accept injustice. This episode explores the faith, courage, and leadership of Bishop Richard Allen — and challenges us not to take for granted the spiritual freedoms we now enjoy.Listen, learn, share, and subscribe as we reflect on the legacy of a man whose faith helped build the Black Church.Sources:Freedom’s Prophet by Richard NewmanThe Life, Experience, and Gospel Labours of the Rt. Do Not Grow Weary in Well Doing
Have you ever noticed that in a race, everyone is running as hard as they can — yet only those at the front are applauded? In life, it can feel the same way. Effort often goes unseen, and faithfulness can feel unnoticed. But God sees every step.Scripture reminds us, “Let us not grow weary in well doing, for in due season we shall reap, if we do not give up” (Galatians 6:9). When we follow Jesus and commit ourselves to doing what is right, even when it’s difficult, we can trust that He notices and cares. This episode encourages us to stay faithful, keep doing good, and rely on Christ to help us focus on the right things instead of the wrong ones. You may not hear applause from the crowd — but heaven is watching, and God promises a reward for those who remain faithful. Closer to God, Closer to Peace
There are moments in life when we desperately need to hear from God. Scripture gives us a powerful promise: “Draw near to God and He will draw near to you” (James 4:8). God is not distant or unwilling—He invites us into deeper fellowship with Him.Drawing near to God requires turning away from the distractions of the world and allowing our love for Him to fill our hearts. As we grow closer to Him, it becomes easier to hear His voice, follow His will, and walk in obedience. This episode reminds us that true peace is found not in circumstances, but in closeness to God. When we draw near to Him, we discover that He draws near to us—and peace follows.

Stop Taking God's Blessings For Granted
After the Children of Israel were delivered from slavery in Egypt, God faithfully provided for them in the wilderness by sending manna from heaven each morning (Exodus 16). It was a daily miracle—simple, sufficient, and freely given. Yet over time, they began to complain, growing dissatisfied with God’s provision and even longing to return to slavery for what they believed was better food.In much the same way, when we accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, God blesses us daily in ways both seen and unseen. Still, like the Israelites, we can become so familiar with His blessings that we overlook them—or worse, complain instead of giving thanks. This episode challenges us to ask an important question: What is the “manna” God is providing in our lives today?Join us as we learn from the mistakes of the Children of Israel and rediscover the importance of gratitude—recognizing, appreciating, and honoring the blessings God gives us every single day.

Persecuted For Jesus' Sake
Persecution has been part of the Christian faith from the very beginning. In this episode, we examine the persecution faced by believers in the early church and compare it with the suffering many Christians still endure today for following Jesus Christ.Drawing from 1 Peter 1:6–8, we reflect on Peter’s words to the exiles—believers who were tested by trials yet anchored by a living hope through eternal life in Christ. Though they were grieved by suffering, their faith produced endurance, joy, and unshakable trust in God.This message reminds us that persecution does not mean God has abandoned His people. Instead, it reveals a faith that is refined, strengthened, and sustained by hope that cannot be taken away. Join us as we explore what it truly means to be persecuted for Jesus’s sake and how believers today can stand firm with confidence in Him.(Originally aired November 12, 2022.)

Changing the World One Prayer At A Time
The world can be changed through prayer—one person and one prayer at a time. God calls us to “pray without ceasing” (1 Thessalonians 5:17) because prayer connects heaven’s power to earth’s need. Every person we encounter is carrying a story, a burden, or a silent struggle—and whether they know it or not, they need prayer. In this episode, we encourage you to step out in faith and lovingly ask those around you—at home, at work, online, or even in passing—if there is anything you can take to God on their behalf. You will be amazed at the hidden hurts and hopes people entrust to you, and as you intercede for others, your own faith will grow deeper and stronger. God tells us that “the prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective” (James 5:16), and He works through the prayers of His people. Join us as we share how simple acts of prayer can spark transformation—and help us cover the world with prayer, one prayer at a time. Why The Second Christmas Will Be Glorious!
Every year we celebrate the First Christmas—the birth of Jesus Christ in Bethlehem as the suffering Servant. But Scripture points us to an even greater day ahead: the Second Christmas, when Jesus returns as the conquering King to gather His Church and usher us into eternal glory. The Bible promises that the Lord will descend with a shout, the dead in Christ will rise, and those who remain will be caught up together with Him (1 Thessalonians 4:16–17). While we rightly celebrate Christ’s birth at Christmas—and honor Him every day—our hearts and eyes must remain fixed on His glorious return. In this episode, we look beyond the manger to the throne and explore why the Second Christmas will be the most joyful celebration the world has ever known.

Jesus Christ: King of Kings
We celebrate the birth of Jesus at Christmas, but Scripture reminds us that the Child in the manger is also Jesus Christ, the King of Kings (Revelation 19:16)—the promised ruler whose Kingdom is unlike any on earth. He is the King foretold by the prophets, the One whose throne would be established forever (2 Samuel 7:16), and the Messiah whose dominion would bring peace without end (Isaiah 9:6–7).Jesus does not rule through oppression but with compassion, not by force but by love. He does not seek power from people—instead, He gives power to live in freedom, righteousness, and hope through His Spirit. He is the King who came not in a palace but in a manger, not with armies but with angels announcing peace, not wearing a crown of gold but destined for a crown of thorns. Yet He alone is the King whose reign brings life, joy, salvation, and everlasting peace. As we celebrate His birth, this episode invites us to see Jesus not only as the baby in Bethlehem, but as the eternal King who reigns forever and welcomes us into His Kingdom. Join us as we explore what it truly means to honor Jesus Christ as our King—and how His reign transforms every part of our lives today.

Gratitude in the Seasons We Don't Understand
Giving thanks is easy when life makes sense, but Scripture calls us to something deeper. The Bible commands us to “give thanks in all circumstances” (1 Thessalonians 5:16–18), even when life feels confusing or painful. In this episode, we turn to Jesus’ parable of the rich man and Lazarus to uncover a powerful truth: gratitude isn’t rooted in what we see — it’s rooted in the God we trust. Even when circumstances seem unfair, God is still working according to His eternal purposes, reminding us that “all things work together for good” (Romans 8:28) and that trials refine our faith (1 Peter 1:6–7). If you’ve ever said, “Lord, I don’t understand this,” this message will encourage you to trust Him fully — and thank Him even in the seasons that make no sense.

In this episode, we explore how to find faith in the waiting — trusting that God hears, cares, and will answer in His perfect time.

Trading Temporary Pleasures for Lasting Peace
Many people look for a “fix” to numb their pain or fill an empty space in their hearts. Drugs, alcohol, gambling, sex — each offers only temporary pleasure that fades as quickly as it comes. In this episode, we explore how sin promises satisfaction but leaves us broken, while Jesus is the only permanent fix who heals, restores, and gives lasting joy and peace.

Leaving a Spiritual Inheritance
God controls every balance sheet — both material and spiritual. And just as He oversees the world’s wealth, He also measures the value of our lives by what we give, not what we keep. A righteous man or woman who walks in obedience can leave behind blessings that reach far beyond money. Their generosity, godly example, and faith-filled living become a lasting spiritual inheritance passed to their children and grandchildren. In this episode, we explore how true wealth is measured not by possessions, but by the legacy of wisdom and faith we leave behind — and how God’s divine economy ensures that the riches of the wicked ultimately bless the righteous.

God's Mission Includes Our Enemies
We all know the story of Jonah and the great fish. Instead of obeying God’s command to preach repentance to Nineveh, Jonah ran in the opposite direction. But obedience to God’s Word leads to life, while disobedience only brings trouble. In this episode, discover why God’s mission includes even our enemies, and how following His call—no matter how difficult—leads to peace and the joy of hearing Him say, “Well done, my good and faithful servant!”

God created each of us with a unique purpose in His Kingdom. He placed us exactly where He wants us to serve Him best — through love and obedience. Unlike human fairness—often rooted in merit or emotion—God’s ways are sovereign and righteous. In this episode, we explore what it means to trust in God's justice, even when it challenges our expectations. Let’s lean into the mystery and learn to rest in the truth that His ways are higher than ours—and always good.

The Way You Love Yourself Shapes The Way You Love Others
Jesus said that the greatest commandment is that we love God with all of our heart, soul, mind, and strength; and that the second greatest commandment is that we love our neighbors as we love ourselves. The problem is that some of us do not love ourselves enough. We let other people use and abuse us. On the other hand, some of us love ourselves too much. We use and abuse other people. What is the correct balance of love that we should have for ourselves in order to love our neighbors, our brothers and sisters in a manner that God wants us to love them. Come along with us as we study the Bible to answer this question.
