This week we take a look at the story of the prophet Elijah. The most well known part of Elijah's life is when he faces the prophets of Baal on Mt. Carmel. But what is not as well known is what happens the very next day. Elijah is overcome with fear because Queen Jezebel threatens his life. And after several days of running, Elijah kind of just gives up. He tells God he doesn't even want to live anymore. This week we take a look at the Israelites entrance into the Promised Land. It's finally happening after 40 years in the wilderness, God's promise to Abraham is being fulfilled. This week we take a deep dive into the lives of the Israelites after the exodus. God is leading them to the Promised Land. He is visibly leading them as a pillar of cloud by day and a pillar of fire by night. This week we take a look at the first two chapters of Moses life. Moses spends the first 40 years of his life in Egypt and then the next 40 years as a shepherd in Midian. And it's near the end of his time as a shepherd that God personally calls Moses to go and bring a message to the Israelites and to Pharaoh. But Moses doesn't want to go. It seemed like 40 years earlier this is exactly what he wanted to do, help his people. But now that he's an old man and 40 years removed from the world of Egypt, he doesn't want to go.
