BUILDING RESILIENCE: BRICK BY BRICK:A Conversation with my mentor Coach Kevin O’Hara of HabitsV2 (HABITSV2.COM)

Some conversations are more than podcast episodes. They’re full-circle moments.Years ago, while trying to become a better human being, I stumbled across Kevin O’Hara’s YouTube videos. We had never met. He didn’t know my name. But every time I listened, I walked away believing I could become a better version of myself.I can honestly say I would not be the man I am today without Kevin’s influence.I don’t know where I’d be had I never found his work. Maybe I’d still be drinking. Maybe I’d still be trapped in the cycle of drinking, recovering, and repeating. Maybe I wouldn’t even be here anymore. What I DO know is this:Kevin helped me believe lasting change is possible.Bit by bit. Brick by brick. Moment by moment.Kevin taught me what I call my go-to Principle 101:“KEEP THE ALCOHOL OUT MY MOUTH!”Simple? Absolutely.Easy? Not always. But Kevin taught me that we STOP THE FLOW, DO THE WORK, and KEEP MOVING FORWARD.And that philosophy goes far beyond drinking. It applies to ANY habit, behavior, or pattern that leads us away from becoming the best possible version of ourselves. We interrupt the pattern. We do the work. We make the next good choice. Then we do it again.Because of Kevin, I have been released from the chains of alcohol and the kryptonite it became in my life—the thing holding me back from becoming my best self. Not through perfection.Through choices.Bit by bit.Brick by brick.Moment by moment.Over the years, Kevin has mentored me, challenged me, encouraged me, and reminded me that resilience isn’t about becoming perfect. It’s about continuing to build.Sitting down with Kevin on Real Resilience Talk was a dream come true and one of the most meaningful conversations I’ve had since starting this podcast. If you’ve ever struggled with alcohol, unhealthy habits, self-doubt, shame, anxiety—or simply wondered whether real change is possible—I hope you’ll give this conversation your attention.IN THIS EPISODEWe talk about:• Kevin’s journey from alcohol dependence to purpose• Building resilience through daily choices• Escaping the drinking/recovering/repeating cycle• Managing cravings, temptations & triggers• Habits, identity, accountability & lasting change• Loving yourself while continuing to grow• Why perfection is the enemy of progress• Turning guilt and shame into growth—not identity• Authenticity in the age of AI• Community, belonging & helping others• Alcohol, stress, mental health & suicide prevention• Building a life worth living one choice at a time.KEVIN’S HEARTWORK:Kevin O’Hara is an author, speaker, coach, and recovery advocate dedicated to helping people create meaningful, lasting change. His books and resources have been beyond stellar and include:• Stop Drinking Alcohol• How to Stop Drinking Alcohol – Audiobook• Alcohol Freedom• 30 Day Reboot: Rethink Your Drinking: RESET YOUR LIFE• Hang Loose Without The BoozeYou can learn more about Kevin and follow the HEARTWORK he does at:https://www.habitsv2.comA PERSONAL THANK YOUKevin—thank you.Thank you for living authentically.Thank you for showing up for people you may never meet.Thank you for proving that change is possible. Most of all, thank you for helping me become the husband, father, veteran, coach, comedian, and human being I continue striving to become.Your work has impacted countless lives. I’m only one of them.STOP THE FLOW.DO THE WORK.KEEP MOVING FORWARD. Bit by bit. Brick by brick. 🧱If this conversation helps you, please SUBSCRIBE and share it with someone who may need it.If you or someone you know is experiencing a mental health crisis, call or text 988 in the U.S. and press 1 for the Veterans Crisis Line.Go out there and like Kevin says, "be the best possible version(BPV) " of you today!#RealResilienceTalk #BPVofSelf #HabitsV2 #MentalHealth #SuicidePrevention

Real Resilience Talk #92 "RESISTING THE DARKNESS" w/ Mr. Steve Wohlberg of White Horse Media & Whiter Horse Bible School

"RESISTING THE DARKNESS" | A Conversation with Mr. Steve WohlbergHow do we find hope when the world feels uncertain? In this episode of Real Resilience Talk, Coach Cam sits down with veteran Bible teacher, author, and speaker Mr. Steve Wohlberg for an honest conversation about resilience, faith, hope, and standing firm in difficult times.Together, they explore how history, biblical prophecy, religious liberty, and personal faith can shape the way we respond to fear, suffering, and adversity. Rather than focusing on panic or sensationalism, this conversation encourages listeners to pursue truth, strengthen their faith, and remember that hope can endure—even in life's darkest moments. One part of this conversation that I especially appreciated was our discussion about the beauty of the First Amendment. Regardless of where we come from or what we believe, the ability to openly discuss ideas, ask questions, respectfully disagree, and share our perspectives is something worth protecting. Real resilience often begins with honest conversations, and I believe our freedom to have those conversations is one of the greatest strengths we have.Whether you're a lifelong believer, someone exploring faith, or simply interested in resilience from a spiritual perspective, this episode offers thoughtful insights into overcoming darkness through courage, conviction, and trust. In This EpisodeBuilding resilience through faithFinding hope during difficult seasonsHistorical persecution and lessons from historyBiblical prophecy and current eventsReligious liberty and freedom of conscienceA thoughtful conversation about the importance of the First Amendment and respectful dialogueOvercoming fear with faithMental health, hope, and perseveranceAbout Our GuestMr. Steve Wohlberg is a veteran Bible teacher, author, speaker, and media director whose specialty is helping Christians understand challenging topics—including biblical prophecy, Revelation, current events, spiritual deception, fear, hope, and faith—without becoming consumed by panic or sensationalism.Steve serves as the Speaker and Director of White Horse Media in Idaho, has authored more than 40 books, appeared on 500+ radio, television, and podcast programs, and has spoken at both The Pentagon and the United States Senate.Learn More About Mr. Steve WohlbergWhite Horse Bible SchoolWhite Horse Mediahttps://www.whitehorsemedia.com/About Real Resilience TalkReal Resilience Talk is dedicated to having honest conversations about resilience, mental health, leadership, prevention, healthy outlets, and the human experience. Our mission is simple:To help build lives worth living by creating meaningful conversations that inspire hope, connection, and action.Because one conversation...One perspective...One act of kindness...One difficult question...or one moment of hope......can change someone's life.LIKE IT OR NOT...WE ARE ALL WE GOT.I'd love to hear your perspective in the comments below. RRT 82 w/ Mr. Charley Johnson of Mental Wellness Labs (raising consciousness & optimizing clarity)

Our thoughts, our awareness,Our Consciousness shape our reality—so learning to direct them matters. In this episode, we explore the idea of consciousness and intentional thinking.I am joined by a great guy, Mr Charley Johnson of Mental Wellness Labswww.mentalwellnesslab.comThis conversation touches on concepts like “mental broadcasting,” consciousness, and the power of self-awareness—not as hype, but as practical tools for growth.I recently came across a 2-week free trial from Mental Wellness Lab focused on what they call “mental broadcasting”:Again the site is 👇https://www.mentalwellnesslab.comThe practice itself has value.Key TakeawaysAnything that gets you to:* Slow down* Focus your thoughts* Optimize your output and input* Replace negative loops* Be intentional with your mindset…can create real change. What you repeatedly think about, you begin to believe. What you believe, you act on.Used consistently, tools like this can:• Improve focus• Reduce mental clutter• Strengthen self-talk• Help you show up better—for yourself and othersThis isn’t magic—it’s discipline.Real Talk, this deeper conversation around “broadcasting,” energy, and coherence is interesting. Whether you view it as science, metaphor, or mindset training—the real question is:Are you being intentional with what you allow into your vibe, your frequency, and your personal world? Most days… I know I’m not.But awareness/consciousness is the first step.If you want to explore it more and do a 2week free trial of what we discuss, visit this site:https://mental-wellness-lab.myshopify.com/products/2-week-free-trial-peak-mental-health-broadcasting-to-one-personFollow Mental Wellness Lab on LinkedIn:https://www.linkedin.com/company/mentalwellnesslab/It’s not about perfection. It’s all about intention. It’s a tool. And like any tool—it works if you use it.#AuthenticityMatters #MentalWellness #Quantum #Consciousness#OPTIMIZATION

REAL RESILIENCE TALK #45 w/ Mr. Brad Bonar of 1Degree of Separation

Today's episode is with Mr. Brad Bonar from THE 1Degree of Separation https://www.1degreeofseparation.life
*I am sincerely sorry for the shitty sound quality on my end in the beginning of this episode:(
That is on me and that's what I get for using public WiFi ! But the good news is that Mr. Brad comes in real Clear! So ignore me like usual and just listen to him!!!
BRAD AND HIS TEAM ARE DOING AMAZING THINGS! 1Degree of Separation is an organization that provides quote:"A comedy show and suicide prevention program aimed at ending the stigma of mental illness.
Depression has one degree of separation: if you don't suffer, then someone you know does.
We aim to bring dialogue, awareness, and acceptance for those suffering from depression through laughter and vulnerability. We laugh at the dark stuff, because laughter releases the pain. We talk about depression because no one should feel shame.
With an army of comedians, we hope to kill the stigma of depression and share stories of hope, happiness and triumph."
They also have the genius 5 questions:5 Questions
People really do have the best intentions when they offer suggestions to a person living with depression but a lot of suggestions are not helpful and can actually be more hurtful.
Start a conversation with these 5 Questions. They are non-judgemental questions that are safe to answer. If you really want to know how to love others with this illness, you have to ask and then listen to understand. Then your action will speak love to them.
If you are living with depression, be sure to ask yourself these questions as well. Have answers to these questions and use those answers to get help from your loved ones that might not understand what you’re going through.
1) What does your depression feel like?2) What do others do that make it worse?3) What do others do that make it better?4) What do you do that makes it worse?5) What do you do that makes it better?
Check them out:https://youtu.be/sFgNzMHgX4s?feature=sharedhttps://youtu.be/is4pgqwmNsQ?si=6jdexgtQjLxEhQcc
Cam's message remains the same y'all:
***BE FIRM, BE FAIR, BE THERE, & CARE!!!***
My last 7cents to y'all:)I want to reiterate what I said about not choosing a permanent decision for a temporary problem...it was inspired by General Neller's 2019 Mental Wellness letter:********"Let me be clear up front, there is zero shame in admitting one's struggles with life - trauma, shame, guilt, or uncertainty about the future - and asking for help. It is not okay, however, to IGNORE YOUR MENTAL HEALTH to the point where you are not able to make sound decisions or end upTaking an irreversible action that leaves behind teammates, family, and those who care about and depend on you."
