    Episode 76 - Sourcing and Developing Commercial Bred Heifers - 3R Cattle LLC.

    On this episode of "Red Angus Remarks", we are joined by Chad and Brad Robben of 3R Cattle, LLC. in Mt.     Episode 75 - Red Angus in Canada - Darren Ippolito

    On this episode of "Red Angus Remarks", Darren Ippolito of Moose Creek Red Angus joins us to discuss the historic Moose Creek Red Angus dispersal that occurred in December.  We also discuss the differences in the beef industry between the U.S. and Canada, including the comparison of herd sizes and differences in meat grading systems.  Darren also gave us an insight into his breeding strategies and what is next for his family and Moose Creek Red Angus.

    Episode 74 - Social Media, Branding, and Marketing - Tucker Brown

    On this episode of "Red Angus Remarks", we are joined by Tucker Brown of the historic R.A. Brown Ranch.  Tucker has successfully promoted his family's operation through multiple social media outlets, including TikTok, Facebook, and Instagram.  He gives an overview of his family's operation, how he created R.A.     Episode 72 - Introduction to RAAA Executive Vice President - Greg Ruehle

    Welcome back to "Red Angus Remarks!"  On this episode, Taylor sits down with new RAAA Executive Vice President Greg Ruehle.  To begin the podcast, Greg gives a brief overview of his background and history.  They then spend time discussing Greg's role with the Association, where he views the breed is at currently, and his vision for Red Angus and the Association going forward. Greg has been very active since joining the Association in mid-October, traveling to or participating in many state affiliate meetings, sales, and shows.  If those listening haven't had a chance to meet Greg, he will continue to be extremely active in his travels.  Additionally, feel free to give him a call or send an email!

    Episode 69 - Jon and Patty Tebeilus - 2025 RAAA Commercial Producer of the Year

    Episode 64 - GridMaster Challenge Introduction

    This week, Cory and Taylor introduce the newly formed GridMaster Challenge!  The Red Angus GridMaster Challenge (GMC) was created by the RAAA Marketing Team as an educational opportunity for Red Angus members and commercial producers.  Participants will have firsthand opportunities to learn about the fed cattle sector of the beef industry and learn more about their herd’s performance and carcass genetics.  Additionally, producers will be exposed to the various tools available through the Association and in the industry to help benchmark and make improvements in their herd, including carcass ultrasounding, Igenity Beef, and feet and leg scoring.  The Challenge will be hosted by the Tri-County Steer Carcass Futurity (TCSCF) with the host yard being Nilan Feedyard of Oakland, IA.  The enrollment deadline is November 15th, 2025.  For further information, please visit the link below or reach out directly to Taylor or Cory.     Episode 63 - Learn from the Best Panel Discussion - Sam Twedt, Kyley DeVoe, and Jesse Weber

    At this year's annual RAAA National Convention, Taylor and Cory hosted the capstone discussion for this year's Learn from the Best class, which consisted of a panel discussion including Sam Twedt, Kyley DeVoe, and Jesse Weber.  Sam Twedt (Twedt Red Angus) and Jesse Weber (Weber Land and Cattle) are both winners of the RAAA Seedstock Producer of the Year award within the last three years, while Kyley DeVoe (3K Land and Cattle) was the outgoing RAAA President.  Questions were submitted prior to the event by participants and were asked to the panel during the discussion.  Attendees also had the opportunity to ask additional questions throughout the discussion.  Questions varied from most impactful mentors and seedstock animals, trends within the breed, how to become involved in the Association, and many more.  To learn more about Learn from the Best or to listen to prior Learn from the Best content on the podcast, please follow the links below.     Episode 62 - Fall Market Outlook - Bryan Gill

    On this week's episode, Cory has a discussion with Bryan Gill, Red Angus breeder and volume commercial buyer of Red Angus feeder calves, to get his thoughts on the run seen through the Summer Video Sale season and outlook going into the fall.  Many know the market only strengthened through the summer, as Bryan highlights in our discussion.  We also discuss different opportunities that exist to help protect value in these strong markets.  Another common theme discussed in the podcast is the trend in shorter sales and less cattle available out in the country.  This episode came out a week after Convention, if there was any more questions on Breedr, please reach out directly to Taylor or Cory.

    Episode 58 - 2025 RAAA National Convention Overview - Halla Ramsey and Kaitlyn Fulmer

    Episode 50 - Bull Buyers and EPDs - Dr. Charley Martinez

    On this episode of Red Angus Remarks, we welcome Dr. Charley Martinez of the University of Tennessee to the podcast.  Taylor first heard Dr. Martinez speak at 2024 Beef Improvement Federation Symposium and was very intrigued with the information was shared regarding how bull buyers utilize EPD's when making bull purchasing decisions.  Dr. Martinez have utilized eye tracking software to follow producers' eye movements when looking at catalogues and which traits producers are utilizing when making decisions.     Episode 44 - Bull Stud Series Episode 2 - Beef-360

    We are on to episode #2 in our Bull Stud Series.  Within this episode, we discuss Red Angus sires with Keenan Switzer of Beef-360.  Beef-360 has taken a very unique path on developing their sire lineup, where heavy emphasis has been placed on the maternal power, makeup, and longevity on each of the bulls they offer.  Discussion within this episode keeps coming back to the female and cow families behind each sire.  Emphasis is also placed on the environmental adaptability of each bull. as many of Beef-360's customers face challenging environmental factors, especially within the southern reaches of the United States where fescue is abundant and heat tolerance is a must.  Listen to this episode and visit the link below to learn more about Beef-360.     Episode 42 - ND Red Angus History - Annette Steffan

    On this week's episode we hear from Annette Steffan on behalf of the North Dakota Red Angus Association.  This episode highlights a fantastic effort by State Affiliate to document history.  In honor of the ND Red Angus Association's 60th Anniversary, Annette spearheaded an effort to chronicle the history of the ND State Affiliate, the Red Angus breed, and key individuals whom helped establish the breed as main-stay in the Northern Plains in the form of a documentary.  In this podcast, Annette highlights how the documentary took shape over many hours of hard work brainstorming, writing, recording interviews, and editing.  The initial version of the documentary was shared with the public at the Annual ND Red Angus Association banquet in December 2024.  Annette highlights the rave reviews that were received by those in attendance.  She finishes the episode with what the future has in store for this project, as additional material continues to be recorded and edited.  The initial documentary is not yet available for public access, but keep a close eye on the North Dakota State Affiliate's website for further updates!     Episode 38 - RAAA Education Capstone - George Murdock

    Episode 33 - Cattlemen's Congress Update and Herdsman of the Year - Tony Tolar

    Episode 31 - OKC Outlook and Fall Bull Sale Recap - Taylor and Cory

    Episode 29 - Fall Marketing Recap and Spring Outlook - Bryan Gill

    Merry Christmas to all our listeners!  On this episode, Taylor and Cory visit with Bryan Gill, the RAAA Marketing Committee Chair, to recap the fall marketing season and discuss the outlook for feeder cattle and replacement females going into next spring.  A majority of the discussion focuses on trends observed in the central portions of the United States.  Prices were very strong this fall, with Red Angus feeder cattle being in high demand.  Take a listen to get Bryan's view points for this spring!  All classes of replacement females held strong or were higher than last year, with no indications appearing for that to change on the horizon as long as moisture is in the extended forecast.  For any inquiries or feedback, please reach out to us at [email protected].

    Episode 28 - Genetics and Genomics Series Episode 3 - Bobby Strecker - ABS Global
