    LEBRON IS COMING TO OHIO #reds #baseball #redsmilb #Redsreaction

The 2026 MLB Draft is underway today, and the Cincinnati Reds have already made several notable selections on Day 1. Here are the Reds' top picks so far: Round Overall Pick Player Position School 1 No. 18 Justin Lebron Shortstop University of Alabama 2 No. 58 Eric Becker Shortstop University of Virginia Competitive Balance B No. 70 Mulivai Levu First baseman UCLA 4 No. 122 Ethan Norby Left-handed pitcher East Carolina University These selections have a clear theme: Justin Lebron (No. 18) is considered one of the best all-around college position players in the draft. Scouts praise his combination of power, speed, defense, and arm strength, giving him the potential to remain at shortstop as a professional. Eric Becker is another polished college shortstop known for his defensive reliability and on-base skills, adding depth to an already strong Reds middle-infield pipeline. Mulivai Levu brings left-handed power after a productive career at UCLA. Ethan Norby is a strike-throwing left-hander who could move through the minor leagues relatively quickly. Overall, Cincinnati appears to be emphasizing up-the-middle athleticism and advanced college talent rather than taking high-risk high school prospects early. The additions of Lebron and Becker strengthen an already impressive collection of young infielders in the organization.

The Cincinnati Reds stink. They need to trade everyone. #Redsreaction

As of July 4, 2026, the Cincinnati Reds have had a disappointing first half of the season. They're 40–47, sitting in last place in the National League Central, and trail the division-leading Milwaukee Brewers by a significant margin. Their postseason odds have dropped to around 1%, meaning they'd need a strong second-half turnaround to reach the playoffs. Some of the biggest storylines include: A difficult stretch against division rivals. The Brewers have been especially troublesome, winning six straight meetings with Cincinnati entering the July 4 weekend. The return of ace Hunter Greene. After missing the first half following elbow surgery in March, Greene is making his 2026 season debut on July 4. The Reds hope his return can stabilize the rotation and spark a late-season run. Young talent remains encouraging. Elly De La Cruz continues to be the club's most dynamic everyday player, while rookie pitcher Chase Burns has emerged as one of the brightest stories of the season. Burns reportedly owns a 10–1 record with a 2.40 ERA through 17 starts, giving the Reds a potential top-of-the-rotation arm alongside a healthy Greene. The offense has shown flashes, with contributions from players such as Noelvi Marte, Sal Stewart, and Spencer Steer, but inconsistency has made it difficult to string together winning streaks.Looking ahead, the Reds' priorities for the rest of the season are likely to be: Seeing if Greene can stay healthy and return to ace form. Continuing the development of Burns and their young core. Deciding whether to buy or sell before the MLB trade deadline, depending on whether they can make up ground in the Wild Card race. Despite the record, the organization still has a promising young nucleus. If Greene returns to form and players like De La Cruz, Burns, and Stewart continue developing, the Reds could be positioned to contend more seriously in 2027, even if 2026 ends up being a transition year.

What's Wrong With the Cincinnati Reds? Bullpen & Offensive Woes Fuel Fifth Straight Series Defeat | Red Hot Reds Podcast

Get your FrostBuddy today!: https://frostbuddy.com/REDHOTREDS Help us get us 500 Subscribers! https://www.youtube.com/@RedHotRedsPodcast The Cincinnati Reds continued their disappointing June slide, losing their fifth consecutive series after dropping two of three games to the Arizona Diamondbacks. Following a 2–4 week that included another series loss to the San Diego Padres, frustration is mounting among Reds fans as the team struggles to recapture the momentum from its strong 20–11 start earlier in the season. Reds Bullpen Collapse Remains Biggest Concern The Reds' bullpen, once considered one of the best in baseball, has become a major liability since May 1. Relievers have accumulated more than 30 bullpen meltdowns during that span, consistently blowing leads and turning close games into losses. While there is some optimism surrounding the potential returns of injured relievers Emilio Pagán and Pierce Johnson, the bullpen continues to struggle with consistency. Young pitchers such as Chase Petty, Luis Mey, and others have been forced into high-leverage situations, highlighting the organization's lack of dependable late-inning options. Offensive Struggles Continue Without Elly De La Cruz The Reds' offense has also cooled significantly. Since the injury to star shortstop Elly De La Cruz, Cincinnati has struggled to generate enough runs to overcome bullpen issues. The team has frequently failed to capitalize on scoring opportunities, leaving runners stranded and relying on narrow victories. Several recent wins required exceptional pitching performances because the offense produced only two or three runs. Noelvi Marte Emerging as a Bright Spot One positive development has been the resurgence of Noelvi Marte. After returning from Triple-A Louisville, Marte has begun showing signs of the offensive potential that made him one of the organization's top prospects. Marte was named the podcast's "Red Hot Red of the Week" after: Batting .316 during the week Hitting home runs in three consecutive games Stealing three bases Providing much-needed energy to a stagnant lineup The Reds hope Marte can become a key offensive contributor alongside J.J. Bleday and Elly De La Cruz when healthy. Chase Burns Leading Reds All-Star Conversation Despite the team's struggles, several Reds players remain in the All-Star discussion. The strongest candidate is rookie pitcher Chase Burns, who has emerged as one of the National League's most dominant starters. Burns has posted elite numbers and could earn his first All-Star selection. Other potential Reds All-Stars include: Elly De La Cruz (if healthy enough to return before voting concludes) J. J. Bleday, whose breakout season has made him one of Cincinnati's most productive hitters Tough Road Ahead for Cincinnati The Reds now face a critical stretch against the New York Mets and New York Yankees. The discussion begins with excitement surrounding the Reds' farm system, led by 2024 MLB Draft second overall pick Chase Burns, whose electric arm continues to generate buzz as one of baseball's premier pitching prospects. Key Reds Prospect Highlights Austin Hendrick has continued his resurgence after earning a promotion to Triple-A Louisville, displaying improved offensive production and defensive versatility. Eli Pitts, a highly athletic outfielder selected in the 2025 MLB Draft, is emerging as one of the organization's fastest-rising prospects thanks to his combination of speed, power, and defensive range. Nestor Lorant has impressed since his promotion to Double-A Chattanooga, posting strong strikeout numbers while limiting opposing hitters. Trevor Kuncl remains a potential bullpen option for Cincinnati after a strong season between Double-A and Triple-A. Sheng-En Lin is beginning to regain prospect momentum after recent strong pitching performances in Daytona. Rising International Prospects The Reds' international pipeline continues to produce intriguing talent, including: Angel Nunez Pablo Nunez Hansel Jimenez Iker Redona Several Dominican Summer League and Arizona Complex League players have shown early-season breakout potential, giving the Reds one of the more intriguing lower-level farm systems in baseball. Organizational Outlook The podcast emphasizes that the Reds' prospect rankings balance both long-term upside and MLB readiness. While national outlets often focus heavily on projection, this ranking values players who could contribute to Cincinnati in the near future. Strong performances from players such as Austin Hendrick, Eli Pitts, and Nestor Lorant have strengthened optimism about the organization's depth, while continued development from international prospects provides additional upside throughout the system. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Socials and audio: https://linktr.ee/redhotredspodcastWelcome to the Red Hot Reds Podcast. Reds trade rumors & deadline decisions, bullpen blowups & Reasons for Hope? | Red Hot Reds

Get your FrostBuddy today!: https://frostbuddy.com/REDHOTREDS Cincinnati Reds Continue to Struggle The Reds endured a disappointing 1-5 week, extending concerns about a team that has struggled heavily against NL Central opponents. Cincinnati now sits at just 2-13 within the division, highlighting major issues in both the pitching staff and bullpen performance. Despite the team's struggles, there have been a few bright spots: Matt McLain has shown signs of breaking out, hitting three home runs over his last seven games. Blake Dunn earned Red Hot Reds' Player of the Week honors after contributing offensively and making several standout defensive plays, including multiple home run robberies. Chase Burns continues to emerge as one of the organization's most promising young pitchers. Pitching and Bullpen Remain Major Concerns The biggest issue for Cincinnati remains pitching. The Reds rank near the bottom of Major League Baseball in walks allowed, and the bullpen has transformed from one of the league's strengths early in the season into one of its weakest units. Injuries and inconsistent performances have left manager Terry Francona searching for answers, while the front office faces increasing pressure to address roster construction concerns. Trade Deadline Decisions Loom With injuries to key players like Elly De La Cruz and continued underperformance across the roster, discussion has shifted toward whether the Reds should become sellers at the MLB Trade Deadline. Potential trade candidates mentioned include veterans such as Tyler Stephenson, Nick Lodolo, Brady Singer, Nathaniel Lowe, and Eugenio Suarez, while younger core players remain central to the organization's long-term plans. Looking Ahead The Reds will face the San Diego Padres and Arizona Diamondbacks in upcoming series that could help determine the direction of their season. With the National League Wild Card race still within reach, Cincinnati has an opportunity to regain momentum—but time is running short. Jacob Friend continued his impressive campaign, going 4-for-4 with a home run and three RBIs. Tyson Lewis showed signs of improvement at the plate after a slow start to the season. Newly promoted Anielson Buten impressed immediately, hitting .400 with two stolen bases during his first week in Daytona. Elly De La Cruz Injury Update, Braves Series Review & Bullpen Concerns: Red Hot Reds 5/31/26

Get your FrostBuddy today!: https://frostbuddy.com/REDHOTREDS Help us get us 500 Subscribers! https://www.youtube.com/@RedHotRedsPodcast --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Elly De La Cruz Injury Sparks Concern The biggest topic of discussion is the injury scare involving Elly De La Cruz, who exited Sunday's game after appearing to tweak his hamstring while running to first base. While initial reports suggest the injury may not be severe, Reds fans are anxiously awaiting MRI results. The hosts discuss De La Cruz's reputation for playing through injuries, his impressive consecutive games played streak, and what his absence could mean for the Reds lineup. Could Edwin Arroyo Be Called Up? With uncertainty surrounding De La Cruz's health, the conversation shifts to top prospect Edwin Arroyo. The hosts debate whether the Reds should promote Arroyo from Triple-A Louisville if De La Cruz misses significant time, noting Arroyo's strong performance since returning from shoulder surgery. Reds Salvage Series Against MLB's Best Braves Despite dropping two of three games to the Atlanta Braves, the Reds avoided a sweep with a victory in the series finale. The hosts acknowledge Atlanta's status as one of baseball's hottest teams and discuss standout performances, including another strong outing from Nick Lodolo. They also examine how Cincinnati measures up against elite National League contenders. Mets Series Shows Signs of Progress The Reds took two of three games from the struggling New York Mets earlier in the week. Positive contributions from players like J.J. Bleday, Spencer Steer, and rookie ace Chase Burns highlighted the series. The hosts praise Burns' continued dominance and discuss how the Reds may manage his workload as the season progresses. Bullpen Issues Continue to Loom A major concern remains the Cincinnati bullpen, which has struggled significantly after a dominant April. Injuries to key relievers, including Emilio Pagán, Graham Ashcraft, and Pierce Johnson, have left manager Terry Francona searching for reliable late-inning options. Surprisingly, Sam Moll has emerged as one of the bullpen's most dependable arms. Blake Dunn Emerging as Valuable Contributor The episode also highlights the recent play of Blake Dunn, whose speed, defense, and offensive production have provided a spark for the Reds. The hosts discuss Dunn's potential role moving forward and whether he deserves additional opportunities near the top of the batting order. Looking Ahead As the Reds enter June, the team faces important questions regarding De La Cruz's health, bullpen stability, and potential roster moves. While Cincinnati finished the week at 3-3 and avoided a losing week, the hosts agree that the next several weeks could play a major role in determining the club's postseason aspirations. Cincinnati Reds Dominican Summer League Preview 2026: Top Prospects, IFA & Future Stars

Get your FrostBuddy today!: https://frostbuddy.com/REDHOTREDS Help us get us 500 Subscribers! https://www.youtube.com/@RedHotRedsPodcast ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------The Cincinnati Reds continue to invest heavily in international talent development, and the Dominican Summer League (DSL) remains one of the most important starting points for the organization’s future stars. While the DSL is often overlooked due to limited coverage and the challenges of scouting teenage international prospects, it has become a critical pipeline for the Reds organization. From MLB stars like Elly De La Cruz to rising prospects like Alfredo Duno, many of the Reds’ top young players began their journeys in the Dominican Republic. With two DSL teams — the DSL Reds and DSL Rojos — Cincinnati continues to dedicate major resources to developing international free agents and uncovering future breakout stars. Why the Dominican Summer League Matters for the Reds The DSL serves as the first professional experience for many international signings, most of whom are between 16 and 18 years old. These players are still developing physically and mentally while learning professional baseball fundamentals. Because of that, prospect evaluation in the DSL is highly projection-based. The Reds have increasingly prioritized international scouting and player development, producing a steady stream of talent from Latin America. Their recent signing classes have featured several highly ranked prospects, reinforcing how important this level has become within the organization. Top Cincinnati Reds DSL Prospects for 2026 Angel Nunez Jr. Headlines Reds International Class Outfielder Angel Nunez Jr. enters the DSL season as one of the most exciting young players in the Reds system. Ranked among the top international free agents in the 2026 signing class, Nunez brings elite speed, strong defensive instincts, and advanced hitting ability for his age. The 17-year-old left-handed hitter projects as a true five-tool prospect with the potential to remain in center field long term. Scouts praise his athleticism, quick hands, and mature approach at the plate. While his power is still developing, many believe additional strength could unlock even more upside. Angel Salio Emerging as Breakout Candidate Infielder Angel Salio impressed during his first DSL season with strong offensive numbers, including a .331 batting average and .909 OPS. His combination of size, athleticism, and plate discipline has made him one of the organization’s fastest-rising international prospects. Salio has experience across the infield and could eventually settle at third base as he physically matures. His ability to hit for average while showing emerging power gives the Reds another intriguing middle-of-the-order projection. Although still refining his consistency at the plate, Liberts Aponte remains one of the Reds’ highest-upside young infielders and could make a stateside debut sooner rather than later.

The hosts praised Hendrick’s perseverance and development, noting he appears closer than ever to reaching the major leagues. Chase Burns Is the REAL DEAL! Cincinnati Reds finally Win a Series | Red Hot Reds Podcast 5/24/26

Get your FrostBuddy today!: https://frostbuddy.com/REDHOTREDS Help us get us 500 Subscribers! https://www.youtube.com/@RedHotRedsPo... --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Red Hot Reds Podcast Recap: Cincinnati Reds Earn Winning Week Behind Chase Burns The Cincinnati Reds finally posted a winning week, finishing 3-2 despite multiple rain delays and postponed games across the organization. On the latest episode of the Red Hot Reds Podcast, hosts Roger Straz and Ricky Logan broke down the Reds’ series wins, bullpen concerns, standout performances, and the continued dominance of rookie pitcher Chase Burns. Reds Beat Phillies, Split Cardinals Doubleheader The Reds opened the week by taking two of three from the Philadelphia Phillies, highlighted by another electric outing from Chase Burns. Cincinnati then split a rain-altered doubleheader against the St. Louis Cardinals after Sunday’s finale was postponed. The Reds improved thanks to stronger starting pitching and timely offense from players like Elly De La Cruz, Sal Stewart, Nathaniel Lowe, and JJ Bleday. Chase Burns Emerging as Reds’ Ace Much of the discussion centered around rookie phenom Chase Burns, who continues to establish himself as one of MLB’s most dominant young pitchers. Burns currently owns: 6-1 record 1.83 ERA 64 strikeouts in 59 innings 0.95 WHIP The hosts debated whether Burns should receive National League Cy Young consideration and potentially earn an All-Star Game start. Burns has consistently stopped losing streaks for Cincinnati and has quickly become the most reliable arm in the Reds rotation. Bullpen Still a Concern for Cincinnati Despite the winning week, the Reds bullpen remains inconsistent. Graham Ashcraft blew another late lead against Philadelphia, continuing Cincinnati’s struggles to close games while Emilio Pagan remains injured. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Socials and audio: https://linktr.ee/redhotredspodcast Welcome to the Red Hot Reds Podcast. Cincinnati Reds Prospects EXPLODING in 2026 | Alfredo Duno, Edwin Arroyo Update: Minor League Monday

Get your FrostBuddy today!: https://frostbuddy.com/REDHOTREDS Help us get us 500 Subscribers! https://www.youtube.com/@RedHotRedsPodcast -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Cincinnati Reds Minor League Report: Chase Burns Headlines Rising Prospect Wave The Cincinnati Reds’ farm system delivered another exciting week of development, breakout performances, and rising stars across every affiliate. Headlined by 2024 MLB Draft pick Chase Burns, the organization continues to showcase one of baseball’s deepest pipelines of young talent. Alfredo Duno Powers Dayton Dragons Offense Top Reds catching prospect Alfredo Duno erupted at the plate with three consecutive home runs during a dominant week for the Dayton Dragons. The 20-year-old slugger appears to be regaining momentum after a slow start to the season, flashing the elite power that has made him one of the organization’s most exciting prospects. Duno’s resurgence came alongside impressive performances from teammates including Kian Vu, who extended his on-base streak to 28 games, and Carlos Sanchez, who continues to hit at a high level and could soon earn a promotion to Double-A. Reds Catching Depth Becoming Organizational Strength The Reds’ minor league system is quickly building impressive depth behind the plate. Alongside Duno, prospects such as Ryan McCrystal, Jacob Friend, and breakout ACL performer Hervin Murillo are drawing attention. Murillo earned “Prospect of the Week” honors after an incredible 11-for-19 stretch that included a cycle, multiple extra-base hits, and continued defensive development. The young catcher has rapidly climbed prospect rankings and may not remain in the Arizona Complex League much longer. Edwin Arroyo and Noelvi Marte Continue Triple-A Surge At Triple-A Louisville, Edwin Arroyo continues to prove he is nearing MLB readiness. Arroyo already has nine home runs this season — doubling last year’s total — while also showcasing improved versatility defensively. Meanwhile, Noelvi Marte turned in another strong week offensively, fueling speculation that a return to Cincinnati could happen soon. Marte’s improved plate discipline and production in Triple-A remain encouraging signs for the Reds organization. Austin Hendrick and Carlos Jorge Shine in Chattanooga The Chattanooga Lookouts saw strong performances from both Austin Hendrick and Carlos Jorge. Hendrick continues to show signs of offensive growth after several developmental seasons, while Jorge’s consistent hitting and elite defensive ability in center field are strengthening his case for a Triple-A promotion. Reds Pitching Pipeline Showing Promise Several young arms impressed throughout the week, including: Ty Floyd, who returned from injury with a strong rehab outing in the ACL. Starlin Torres, who delivered his best Daytona start of the season. Jose Acuna and Jonathan Harmon, both of whom turned in quality Double-A performances. The Reds continue to emphasize strike-throwing and pitcher development throughout the system, with several arms rapidly gaining attention. Jacob Friend Interview Coming Soon Rising prospect Jacob Friend is also set to be featured in an upcoming interview after his breakout season with Daytona. Go Reds! #MLB #MiLB Alfredo Duno (full name: Alfredo Enrique Duno) is a highly regarded Venezuelan baseball prospect and catcher in the Cincinnati Reds organization. Born on January 7, 2006, in Miranda, Venezuela, the 20-year-old stands 6'2" (188 cm) and weighs 210 lbs (95 kg). He bats and throws right-handed. The Reds signed him in 2023 as one of the top international prospects (reportedly for around $3.1 million), and he has quickly risen through the minors with standout athleticism, power, and plate discipline for his position. In 2025, playing for the Single-A Daytona Tortugas in the Florida State League, Duno had a breakout season: he hit .287/.430/.518 with 18 home runs, 81 RBIs, and led the league in several offensive categories (including runs, doubles, walks, and OPS). He was named FSL MVP and earned multiple Player of the Week honors. Scouts praise his big raw power, bat speed, and surprising athleticism and arm strength behind the plate for a catcher his size, though he's still developing defensively and is viewed as a high-upside but high-risk prospect. As of early 2026, he's ranked as the Reds' #2 prospect overall (and a top-100 prospect in baseball by some evaluators), with many viewing him as the organization's catcher of the future and a potential star. He's expected to continue advancing through the minors, possibly starting 2026 back in High-A or higher.
