    Welcome to 2023!

Who do you want to become in 2023?Tune in to the very first episode of the Rocking Midlife® Podcast for 2023, to hear my personal update as well as a challenge for you!To give you some perspective as well, I recorded this first episode of the Rocking Midlife® Podcast in mid January – well before the record breaking weather bomb that hit New Zealand, causing widespread flooding and damage to Auckland. Hence, I sound quite upbeat and positive in the episode, giving an update on my personal world and asking you about how you are, and who you want to become in 2023. Incidents like the flooding being experienced here, natural disasters, political conflict and more, are reminders that there is so much out of our control, and that oftentimes, life can absolutely suck. On the other hand though, becoming who we want to become in the new year is something we can control......Want to become more intentional in which relationships you put time and effort into this year?Want to become more mindful and less stressed?Want to create a life that is purposeful and fulfilling?Want to become more grateful and less judgemental? We're only one month into the year, and already so much has happened that is out of our control. Nevertheless, there are still 11 months to go where you have the possibility of experiencing growth in so many areas of your life, if you choose to intentionally focus on who you want to become this year.So here's to 2023. Whilst it might be off to a bumpy start, may we never lose the ability to hope and dream.PS: Grab my FREE gift for you - the "Dare to Dream Workbook" to help you get clear about what you really want to do and become over the next 90 days! Reignite your Creativity

Do you feel like your creativity has been suppressed under the weight of all the “must-dos” in your life? Then this week’s interview with Faigie Kobre might just be the inspiration you need to dust off your paint brushes, your sketchbooks, your musical instrument or your pottery wheel, and reignite that creative spirit in your midlife years!Faigie lives in New York and is a mother of 6 children and grandmother to many! She works with women who love art but, don't feel creative due to earlier negative art experiences, Through her workshops, Faigie helps these women reignite their creativity by introducing them to the magical medium of alcohol inks, which are vibrant, fluid and forgiving and which make everyone who uses them feel like an artist.During our conversation, we talked about whole creativity is something that is often neglected in our lives, and how midlife can be the perfect time to reignite it, due to us having more space in our lives now that we are through the child-raising years. We also touched on how we need to change our inner conditioning that tells us that anything creative or artistic is “frivolous” and not worth doing. Faigie in passionate about seeing women reignite their creativity and shares many key thoughts including:•How you don’t have to be born with a talent for drawing to become an artist.•How alcohol inks can be the perfect medium to help you reignite your creative side.•How taking the time to be creative can fuel your soul.Get in touch with Faigie here: •At her website: www.creativityreignited.com •On Facebook: www.facebook.com/creativealcoholinkingEnjoyed this episode of the Rocking Midlife® Podcast?I would be so grateful if you could leave a 5 star review at Apple – this way the podcast is boosted and found more easily!Cat xPS: Want to continue the conversation? The Power of a Vision for your LIfe

This week's guest on the Rocking Midlife® Podcast is a beautiful, vibrant lady from my homeland of Australia - Edwina Murphy-Droomer.  We connected recently when Edwina invited me to be part of a fabulous 11 day challenge she is hosting starting on the 22nd August: the More Extraordinary Every Day Challenge for Midlife Women. (You can still register for your FREE ticket here: https://edwinamd.com/CatColuccio )Edwina is a "Vision Building Mentor" which is a fabulous name for a mentor who helps women create vision boards, then supports them to bring their dreams and goals to life. Her own story is like many women's, with her personal metamorphosis springing from her darkest hour as a suddenly single, broke mother with four children to leading a full-colour life of love, prosperity, and freedom. As a Professional Interviewer and Transformational Coach, Edwina is a powerhouse in the fields of vision building and transformation. She has supported thousands of women to create an exciting vision for the life they want to live and then provides the support and accountability to bring that vision to life.During our conversation, Edwina makes some thought-provoking points, including: 1. We women often spend so much time planning the perfect wedding day or the most amazing event - yet we never take the time to create a vision and plan of the life we want to live - including all areas, some examples being our health, our relationships, our careers etc. 2. Who you want to BE will affect what you want to achieve. Achieving external goals requires internal growth. 3. "If it's going to be, it's up to me!" Want to reach your goals? Want to change your life? Then you will need to accept that no-one is coming to rescue you - it's up to you to roll up your sleeves and do the work. You can find Edwina at her website: https://edwinamd.com/On Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/edwina.md/On Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/edwinamurphydroomerpageEnjoyed this episode of the Rocking Midlife® Podcast?I would be so grateful if you could leave a 5 star review at Apple – this way the podcast is boosted and found more easily!Cat xPS: Want to continue the conversation? Keeping the love alive in your long term relationship

This week’s Rocking Midlife® Podcast interview features Isabel and Michael Hunsinger – the team behind Doctor on a Mission – speaking about how they keep the love alive after 42 years of being together. You might recall that I interviewed Isabel in season 2 about menopause and brain health, as she is a doctor who specializes in helping people age well. Michael is a culinary nutritionist, and the pair work as a team, helping people reverse their diabetes and cognitive decline. What I love about the Hunsingers is that they are not only passionate about their work – they are passionate about one another, and I know that their insights will encourage others in long term partnerships. Isabel even shares a list of 8 key things that have helped them keep their marriage happy and healthy, and while they are a bit out of order due to our having too much fun in our conversation, you are sure to find one that will inspire you to take action on your marriage.I often talk about the roller coaster that is midlife. There is love and there is loss, along with every emotion in between which can feel amplified when you add the crazy hormones of menopause to the mix. For many, this season also exposes the weaker parts of their marriage, as couples are forced to re-engage when the distraction of childrearing is removed. We’ve spoken previously on the podcast about being single, plus about how to heal and live life authentically after divorce. My hope is that today’s episode will give you both hope and tips to help you not only revive your long term relationship if it is feeling a bit stale, but to nurture your relationship so much that it develops to be something far better than you ever imagined. Isabel’s 8 tips for keeping the love alive in your long term relationship became 10 by the end of the interview, so in case you missed any, here they are: 1.Attack the problem, not the person.2.Identify YOUR personal issues and work on them.3.Keep your voice and countenance calm and low.4.Timing of when to discuss and solve problems.5.LISTEN! - no eye rolls or sighs and pay attention.6.Ephesians 4:29 - Be kind with the tongue (your words)7.RESPECT - never disrespect in public.8.Trust - that comes from respect and ALL of the other steps.9."neglect the rest of the world if you have to, but NEVER neglect each other."10.Intimacy - Stay sexy for each other. You can find the Hunsingers at their website: https://doctoronamission.com/You can join their free group here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/shamefreeforwomenWant to continue the conversation?
