    E26: Boundaries that Honor God

Have you ever felt exhausted because you're constantly saying yes to everyone else but no to yourself? Maybe you're showing up for work, family, church, friends, and responsibilities—but at the end of the day you feel drained, overwhelmed, and stretched thin. As Christians, sometimes we believe that constantly giving more, doing more, and being available for everyone is what God expects from us. But throughout Scripture, we see that God never called us to live exhausted and depleted. This episode talks about boundaries from a biblical perspective and why they are essential for creating a healthy, balanced lifestyle.  E26: "Boundaries that Honor God"  - Workbook - download  HERE Other Suggested Episodes:E12: A Time for EverythingE17: Embrace Your SeasonWhat did you enjoy the most about this episode? In this episode, we talk about what forgiveness really is, what it isn’t, and why it’s essential for our spiritual and emotional well-being. It was a painful season, but through prayer, guidance, and God’s grace, I discovered how forgiveness can lead to real healing and peace. You’ll also learn a simple, practical method called REACH that can help you begin the process of forgiving someone in your own life. If you’ve ever struggled to let go of hurt, resentment, or disappointment, I pray this episode encourages you. Who do you need to forgive today?Links to Grief Support Resources: E18: “Transformed by Grief”Grief In Common: Online Monthly Support Groups & 1:1 Grief Coaching Grief Share : Weekly Grief Support Groups by Zip Code Rula.com: Online Therapy  (First check if your insurance can cover the co-pay)Book:  “Healing After the Loss of a Mother” Book: “The Gift of Forgiveness" Book: “Forgiving What You Can’t Forget”What did you enjoy the most about this episode? E22: Divine Detours

Making plans, setting goals and creating systems is great, but what happens when you suddenly face a roadblock that says “detour” or “road closed ahead” and it doesn’t allow you to further that path, goal or dream you had in mind or it puts you behind your original timeline? Perhaps you carry dreams, goals, and plans of how things should turn out in your life. How do you move forward and transition from that dream you had set for yourself in a given timeline? How do you cope and accept to walk confidently in the direction God is leading you to? This episode discusses what the Bible says, possible reasons why God re-routes, and practical ways to cope with divine detours. E21: The Power of Systems

In this episode, we discuss the topic of the power of developing systems to help you be consistent with your goals. Many times we set ambitious objectives, only to need help to maintain the momentum required to reach them. This is where the concept of setting systems instead of just goals comes into play. We will explore the power of systems over goals and how adopting this approach can transform your life in a friendly, kind, and effective manner. My desire is that after you finish listening to this episode you are inspired to identify your current systems and adjust or even create new ones if needed! I believe that no matter your age or situation, there’s always room for personal and spiritual growth. We will specifically discuss the benefits of establishing systems and what the Bible says about that. We will close with practical ways that you can use to evaluate your current systems or get inspired to develop new ones to make the best of your time and become the person God has called you to be. Episodes Mentioned: Episode 20: Setting Goals During Time of Adversity Episode 11: Create Habits Not ResolutionsEpisode 16: Building Consistency Resources Mentioned:Capsule Wardrobe on Pinterest Mark Zuckerberg’s Uniform Atomic Habits - By James ClearVolunteer Opportunities - Christianbrigades.org/volunteer Scriptures Mentioned: Genesis chapter 6: 13-22Exodus 18:24-27Genesis 41Send me a message / connect with me: [email protected]: @sarahi__montoya Instagram: @Sarahimotivations What did you enjoy the most about this episode? E20: Setting Goals During Adversity

In today’s episode, we will discuss the topic of goal setting during adversity, specifically after a setback when you’re going through a tough transition in life. Transitions such as moving forward in life after a loss, a recent diagnosis, a breakup, or even new major life changes such as starting a new family, moving towns, moving jobs, all these changes can take an emotional toll on your personal goals as you learn to adjust to your new life, your new community or even to a new you. So my desire is to share practical ways to help you set new goals and possibly help you refresh your current goals, as a way to motivate you to get back on the mission God has called you to be. E9: The Thief of Joy

Scripture tells us that joy comes from the Lord. But one thing that we need to realize is that there is a spiritual realm, where the enemy is always looking for any opportunity to rob you from your joy, your peace and the purpose God has for your life. And sometimes it comes in the form of comparison and envy. So in this episode, we will be talking about comparison, the thief of joy, and how that can distract you from your calling & your uniqueness.  We will be closing with some practical ways to overcome that. E5: Consider the Lilies

A few months ago, as spring was coming to an end, I wrote a devotional titled: “Consider the Lilies” and in today’s episode, I  elaborate on that topic  and  include an application exercise, with the hopes of encouraging you to embrace with joy the season God currently has you in. Jesus  faithfully says to "consider the lilies of the field" and reminds us that the lily doesn’t worry. If you were to study the science behind the growth of Lilies, you will realize that the lily doesn’t complain where it’s planted and still grows beautifully in any type of environment as long as it gets sufficient water. Similarly, as God’s flowers, we too can take rest and surrender to who God has created us to be, as long as we are receiving his living water regularly.  One way to maintain joy during your current season is by seeing the positives in your life through the practice of gratitude. There’s a game my husband and I play a few times a week called the “Gratitude Count Down” - I adapted it from the Calm App a while back. I love it and I hope you find it useful too! -----Follow on IG:  @sarahi__montoya Follow on IG: @christianbrigadesChristianbrigades.orgSarahimontoya.comThe Calm App What did you enjoy the most about this episode? E3: Missional Life

In today’s episode we will be discussing how to live a missional life. When God calls you, you can’t wait for things to be perfect, or already set up and established. When we see our lives through the eyes of God, we live differently, we give differently, and we love differently.  “Go” might look different for you than what it looks for me. For you, it may involve speaking about Jesus with a neighbor, a coworker, a stranger, or a child. Whatever it may be, each of us are called to be part of God’s work locally and beyond our own borders. For others it may involve boarding a plane, contributing financially or simply praying for the work God is doing in a certain country or through a missionary.  God wants to include us in his amazing work to change lives and save people. He is calling us to arise and go the distance to reach our neighbor, our nation, and the ends of the earth with His great love. You can’t keep waiting for opportunities, you need to start creating your own opportunities, and God will do the rest. God is on a mission and anyone who chooses to be a 'follower of Jesus' is signing up to be a missionary with Him. E2: Our Identity in Christ

In today’s episode we will be discussing our identity in Christ, and I will also be sharing a Bible study tool that has helped me stay true to who God has called me to be. And I pray that it’s also a blessing for you. Many times we tend to look outside of ourselves to understand who we are or how we fit in our society. As the world brings about new technology, ideas and trends, we try to keep up with society so that the world can see that we are not too behind. Perhaps to the world, you may demonstrate to be a certain type of person, but to God you are his most precious and valuable gem greater than any earthly material accomplishment. Your properties & belongings don’t factor into God's love for you! As humans, our self-identity can be confusing when we do not know who we truly are in Christ. If someone were to ask you, “who are you?” Perhaps you would base your response based on external factors such as  your occupation, your background, or perhaps your title in groups that you’re proud to be a part of. You are a  child of God, blood washed, holy ghost filled, sanctified, child of the living God, you come from generations of warriors, of fighters like David, Samson, Ruth, Esther. You were born to fight and destined to win. This is your identity: God’s own identity glowing through you! www.sarahimontoya.com @sarahi__montoyaLink to SOAP Bible Study Outline What did you enjoy the most about this episode?
