Vaughan will walk through the 4 common breathing mistakes he sees consistently and guide you through his OCEAN Breathwork framework.Think of it like a golfer who practises hundreds of shots a week. If the fundamentals of the swing are off, all that practice is reinforcing the problem. Breathwork is the same. Why this matters to your practice -Breathwork is not alternative medicine. It's applied physiology. Whether you work with people on their bodies, their minds or their habits, understanding how to guide better breathing will add an immediate, practical layer to what you already do.The leading longevity voices all agree on the main pillars of health: sleep, nutrition and exercise…breathing leads them all.It leads movement, it helps drive digestion and it determines whether your nervous system is set up for a great night’s sleep. You’re not breathing for relaxation - that's a side effect. You’re breathing for nervous system regulation. What to expectA practical, evidence-informed session. You will leave with a clearer understanding of how to avoid the most common breathing mistakes, the physiology behind breathwork and straightforward techniques you can incorporate into your own practice immediately.

Simplifying Wellness Series - The Rise of The Doula - Why More People Are Opting for Doula Support During Childbirth
Send us Fan MailThis week at Seed we are focussing on the journey to parenthood, through fertility, pregnancy, birth and post-natal care. For this campaign, we have drawn on the expertise from our Seed Childbirth Collective - a panel of Seed experts who support parents-to-be on this journey, from pre-conception to beyond birth.Childbirth is often described as one of life’s most transformative experiences — yet it can also bring uncertainty, vulnerability, and intense emotion. Increasingly, expecting parents are turning to doulas for guidance, comfort, and steady support. But what exactly does a doula do, and why has this role become so valued in modern birth culture? In this podcast, we are delighted to share the mic with Lizzie Gilbert, a professional doula located in Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire, to better understand the role of a doula in supporting mums through what is often one of the most profound events of her lifetime.Says Lizzie, “Your experience of birth really matters. Even years later, you will hear people talking about their birth... they can recall it so vividly. It is deeply psychological, emotional and relational and just feeling safe, informed and supported really does have lasting effects on confidence, mental health and the transition into parenthood. "Information, education and managing expectations are so important. Even if you don’t have a doula, I would encourage new parents to be well informed.”For more information visit https://seedwellness.co.uk/elizabethgilbert

From Anxious to Empowered – Rewiring Your Journey to Parenthood with Magalie Valadier & 4 Seed experts
Send us Fan MailHosted by Magalie ValadierIn this episode, host Magalie Valadier, Medical Herbalist & Limbic Imprint Practitioner, is joined by Emily Guiver (Antenatal Teacher & Birth Trauma Practitioner), Sam Lowi (Craniosacral Therapist), and Louise Slope (Nutritionist) to explore the root causes of perinatal anxiety. The discussion moves beyond the dismissive "it's just hormones" narrative to map the complex interplay of biochemistry, inherited family history, and physical memory.Key Topics Discussed:The Perfect Storm (Hormones & History):The episode opens by validating the overwhelming physiological changes of pregnancy and postpartum. The host explains that estrogen rises to 100 times normal levels during pregnancy, only to crash by up to 95% within days of birth—described as the most dramatic hormonal event in human life. The discussion expands to the concept of the "limbic imprint" —how an individual's nervous system is wired by their own childhood, their birth story, and even the epigenetic stress of their grandmother's experiences. This creates a unique sensitivity to the hormonal rollercoaster. The Physical Blueprint (How Trauma Manifests):The conversation shifts to where these inherited stories and stresses live in the body. The host and guests discuss how the "blueprint" of anxiety is not just mental but physical.Sam (Craniosacral Therapy) explains that the nervous system's hyper-vigilance lands as physical tension. She describes seeing this as a subtle bracing in the diaphragm (which disrupts the breath), a holding in the cranial bones (linked to one's own birth pattern), and a rigidity in the fascia (the body's connective tissue web). The team discusses how mothers may hold fear in the pelvis without realizing it, and how newborns can carry patterns of stress from gestation or birth.Trauma Release: Sam elaborates on how gentle, therapeutic work can allow the body to release these deep-held patterns, emphasizing that the body often needs to "unwind" physically from old stories before the mind can fully settle. The Collective Approach:The practitioners discuss how they work together to address anxiety from all angles. While the episode did not include live demonstrations of specific tools, the team outlined their collaborative philosophy:Emily works to detach the emotional charge from traumatic birth stories, preventing them from feeling like prophecies.Sam addresses the physical holding patterns in the pelvis and cranium to change the body's expectation of birth.Louise focuses on building a biochemical buffer with nutrients to support mood stability.Magalie (host) supports the nervous system with herbs and limbic recoding to help the subconscious mind write a new story of safetyTakeaway:The core message is that perinatal anxiety is a signpost pointing to a deeper, multi-layered experience involving biochemistry, ancestral history, and physical memory. Healing requires tending to the entire ecosystem—the mind, the biochemistry, and the body's fascial memory. By doing so, parents are not just calming their own anxiety but changing the legacy for their child.

Vaughan trained with 4 X World Champion Freediver, Stig Severinsen, in South Africa. Together, we explore neurodiversity, men’s health, and how understanding the nervous system, breath, and body can change the way men train, work, cope, and connect—with themselves and others. This is a conversation about performance, yes—but also regulation, identity, and what thriving actually looks like for different kinds of brains. For more information about Toby Garbett, visit XXFor more information about Vaughan Wickins and his breathwork courses, visit www.seedwellness.co.uk/vaughanwickins

How Lifestyle Holds The Key To Managing & Even Overcoming Chronic Health Conditions including Cancer with Jacqui Jooste, Clinical Pharmacist & Clinical Health Coach
Send us Fan MailAs a continuation of our health campaign focussing on the topic of cancer, we spoke to Jacqui Jooste, a Clinical Pharmacist & Clinical Health Coach located in Welwyn, Hertfordshire. In this podcast, Jacqui talks about how she supports people who have been diagnosed with cancer or are in remission.A cancer survivor herself, Jacqui understands the complexities of this journey. Drawing on her own scientific knowledge as well as her own healing and recovery, Jacqui shares her top tips for how to remain as optimal as possible to both fight the disease and also support remission.Jacqui focusses heavily on diet and lifestyle from a scientific perspective as a means to help her patients manage and even overcome a wide range of health issues including cancer, diabetes, gut issues and other chronic conditions. Said Jacqui, “Through my own diagnosis, I went through the process of falling apart and then taking back my health. What I realised through this journey are our bodies are hardwired to keep us alive. It has an army of defences but we have to give it the ammunition, ie eating well, managing stress, doing that exercise.”During my time in the NHS, I met lots of patients who needed more holistic support with cancer in day-to-day life. Coming from a science background, my research is evidence based. We journey down where that person’s high risk came from. “If we start to unpack what happens in the body, looking at the whole of the body’s systems and how it can regenerate healthy cells, we can improve outcomes. My job is to bring this information to the patient.” Jacqui is set to launch a new series on Instagram called “Did You Know” to help people learn more about ways to be healthy. Demystifying Wellness series - Introducing the MELT Method - Hot from the US, this revolutionary pain management system is for every body with Sarah-Jane Goulding
Send us Fan MailIncorporating the latest science, the Melt Method is based on 3 hands-on bodywork therapies including structural integration, ie fascial work, craniosacral therapy and neuromuscular therapy. MELT has been adapted as a hands-off self-care treatment so people can get themselves out of pain, improve their mobility and flexibility. Originating from the US, MELT uses specifically designed soft foam rollers, soft balls and bands, MELT helps the body to release tension, regulating the nervous system and restoring the supportive qualities of the fascial tissue. Seed's MELT practitioner, Sarah-Jane Goulding, first discovered this modality when suffering with 4 pro-lapsed discs. Said Sarah, "I loved the fact that I could use this system to get myself out of pain without having to see a health practitioner every week. I call it an enabler so people can use this alongside everything they would do in their daily life, eg you may have some sitting at a desk all day or someone practicing their golf swing. "These repetitive movements cause dehydrated tissue that lives all the way through the whole body around every muscle, tendon and joint. If our tissue is dehydrated and tight, our movement is restricted and compensation patterns then kick in and present as aches and pains in the body. MELT helps us to alleviate those patterns. Once you learn the technique and movements, you can treat yourself whenever you need."MELT is suitable for everyone of all ages and is available in group classes or as a 1:1 session either in person or online. MELT is great for rehabilitation, prevention, maintenance and longevity, boosting both physical health and mental wellbeing. For more info visit www.seedwellness.co.uk/sarahjanegoulding

This could be specific to be a diagnosis, a health challenge, injury and even debilitation from stress."When we look at cancer, there are a whole host of challenges and obstacles just from hearing the word. Medical coaching helps people navigate this - the initial diagnosis, the day to day emotional rollercoaster, the physical responses and supporting the connection between the body and mind. It uses a holistic approach that focusses on individual engagement and taking action, helping people to acknowledge how they are feeling and move forward, giving them a sense of control when they don't feel they have any. It gives people a tool box to draw from while providing a safe space to breathe and evolve through the process."Coaching also extends beyond the person with the illness to those around them including carers, family members and loved ones. Steff also works closely with people from the caring profession who are experiencing burn out. For more information about Steff and her work, visit https://seedwellness.co.uk/stephaniebarrows

Journeys series - How Our Home Can Support Our Health & Wellbeing with Sophie Casey, Seed's Home Coach -
Send us Fan MailAn ideal home provides us with a sanctuary from the stresses of daily life. However, for some, this is not the case. In fact, it could be having the opposite effect. In this podcast, Sophie Casey, Seed's Home Coach, talks about the impact of our environment on our health and wellbeing, sharing her own journey of how moving throughout her childhood taught her how to make a house a home.Sophie’s work involves so much more than decluttering - it is as deeply psychological as it is personal, enabling her clients to understand more about themselves, let go things that no longer serve them, reframe and repurpose items of sentimental value and ultimately feel at ease in their own space. Says Sophie, "We are all living in a world where we have a tidal wave of 'stuff' coming at us all of the time. If we don't deal with it, we can drown in it. There is a difference between a house and a home - a home provides us with a sanctuary from the chaos of daily life, telling our story and reflecting our life experiences."For more information visit https://seedwellness.co.uk/sophiecasey
