A monthly podcast where we discuss a full season of a TV show as if it was a novel. It's like a Book Club... for TV!

    Not The Mighty Nein

Just a quick update to let you all know that, unfortunately, June got away from us, so there will be no episode. Don't worry, though, we will come back to The Mighty Nein in September. For July, Kerri has selected Taskmaster Series 19! We hope you all enjoy it. TRAILER: https://youtu.be/K_2xCORlP88?si=qpMZ6e4ZXO_VGlfa

    Elementary (2012) - Season 1

It's time for more mystery and detecting as we discuss season 1 of 2012's Elementary. This is Rachael's favorite version of Holmes and Watson. Evelyn really enjoys it. And Kerri thinks it's perfectly fine. Still this is an overall recommendation from everyone and you should watch it if you haven't. We do love the fact that (spoilers) Holmes and Watson never cross the line into a romantic relationship. They're really just great as platonic besties, and it's good that it stays that way. Overall, the casting in this show is really well done. However, this show is one of the examples of, if you've watched too much TV, then you can figure out Who Done It just by who the guest star is for the week. But it's still fun! We appreciate how well they handled Sherlock's drug use and how prominent it continued to be. Most of the time in shows, it's a sort of background thing that comes up every now and then when the plot needs it. The drug use and addiction as portrayed in this show is something you don't really see very often. We also decide to get into a bit of deductive vs. inductive vs. abductive reasoning and which one Sherlock actually uses. Up next, we head back to the world of animation for season 1 of The Mighty Nein, available on Amazon. Jessica Jones (2015) - Season 1

She's officially back in the MCU, so we go back and rewatch season 1 of Jessica Jones.  The casting for this series is really outstanding, especially David Tennant as the ultra-creepy Kilgrave.  Rachael's main complaint with this show is that everyone makes the worst decision at almost every turn. We did all find interesting how anti-climactic the ending and Kilgrave's death were, even though it seems like that was designed on purpose. Any other kind of death that was flashier or showier would have just fed into his ego and narcissism.  One thing we're still a little confused about is what exactly Jessica knew about Luke from the start and why she was even following him in the first place. We do try to answer the question of whether or not someone with Kilgrave's powers be good? And, finally, shout out to the door. Next month we visit the land of crimes and mysteries with Elementary season 1, available on Hulu. What We Do In The Shadows (2019) - Season 1

It might not be spooky season, but we're talking vampires anyway as we return to What We Do In The Shadows, season 1. BAT! We get into Matt Berry's AMAZING performance. The relationship between Nandor and Guillermo. The absolutely spot-on cameos of the vampires who make up the Vampire Council. And also the fact that these aren't regular vampires. These guys are just fucking idiots. Colin is interesting. The whole energy vampire thing in general is fascinating but we do wish they had saved the reveal that he has actual supernatural abilities for later in the season. It would have worked a bit better if we were unsure if he was a vampire for real or just the world's most boring man. There's also a short sidetrack into talking about the film Vamps. And speaking of Krysten Ritter, next month we revisit the superhero genre with the first season of Jessica Jones.  TRAILER: https://youtu.be/nWHUjuJ8zxE?si=2pRUto0Wo5uLunZm TUMBLR: https://showclubpod.tumblr.com/ MERCH: https://showclub.redbubble.com/ EMAIL: [email protected]

    The Resort (2022)

It's time to head into the jungle to search for two missing kids as we discuss the Peacock (not Amazon Prime) original series, The Resort. There's love! Adventure! Mystery! What more could a girl want? While we disagree a little on how well the plot of the show works, we do agree that the acting is all around fantastic. It's very clear from the get-go who all of the characters are and what their relationships are like. This show does an excellent job of showing the different ways people process grief and loss. But what was Alex's deal? Was he really Alejandro or just losing his mind? Next month, it's a vampire reality show. That's right! We're (re)watching season 1 of What We Do in the Shadows.  TRAILER: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mfBbSwX6kEk TUMBLR: https://showclubpod.tumblr.com/ MERCH: https://showclub.redbubble.com/ EMAIL: [email protected]

    The Night Manager (2016) - Season 1

This month, we revisit season 1 of the Tom Hiddleston-led spy drama The Night Manager.  Overall, we really like this series. The casting is amazing, and it is a very interesting story. However, we would have liked to have seen more of the training Jonathan Pine went through and how his relationship with Angela Burr developed. Speaking of, his relationships with the women in the show and how he seduces pretty much all of them was sometimes a bit much. Some of it could have worked better if it had been clearer how much time had passed between certain scenes. Next month, a couple trying to rekindle their romance winds up embroiled in a decades-long mystery at The Resort. Fleabag (2016) - Season 2

It's a romance with a Hot Priest this month as we discuss season 2 of Fleabag. And we have a special guest as our good friend Karen finally joins us for a conversation. Everything about this show is simply fantastic. The writing, the acting, the casting, it's all top-notch. The aggressive moisturizing the therapist does because she has dry forearms is so weird. Because dry elbows? Sure. But forearms? And yet, we still love it. We talk about doomed romances from our past, the chemistry between Fleabag and Hot Priest, and if it matters that some characters don't have names. Up next, it's Tom Hiddleston doing spy shit as we will be watching season 1 of The Night Manager, available on Amazon Prime.  TRAILER: https://youtu.be/g-ZcaKdvML8?si=0yX1t72C2HSBeCcG TUMBLR: https://showclubpod.tumblr.com/ MERCH: https://showclub.redbubble.com/ EMAIL: [email protected]

    Extraordinary (2023) - Season 1

This month, we visit a world where people have superpowers as we discuss Hulu's Extraordinary. We mostly talk season 1 but we do get into season 2 a little bit. It's really fun to see all the powers people have. They really run the gamut from the expected of people who can fly or teleport to a guy who has a 3D printer ass.  It's such a fun and quirky show in that great British comedy vein. Kash might actually have one of the most interesting powers with his ability to turn back time and the lesson he finally learns at the end of season 2 is quite profound. Rachael shares her top 5 Jizzlord quotes because the way that man delivers those lines is just gold. Jizzlord really is our favorite. Of course, we discuss what superpowers we would want to have. Up next, we will be watching season 2 of Fleabag, available on Amazon Prime. Interview with the Vampire (2022) - Season 2

Strap in, folks. This is our longest episode to date because there is A LOT to talk about with season 2 of Interview with the Vampire.  Unfortunately, Rachael had a hard time getting into this season because the actors were just not pretty enough. /sarcasm Though, it did honestly take Evelyn a few episodes to really get into it.  The only complaint any of us have is that Evelyn had a hard time connecting with the actors a bit because of the contact lenses. But overall, the series really is wonderful.  The Claudia and Madeleine relationship might be one of the most tragic things in the show. Armand continues to be so fascinating because of this dichotomy of a vampire who has so much power but acts so powerless. Up next, we will be watching season 1 (and maybe season 2) of the Hulu original series Extraordinary. Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt (2015) - Season 1

How would you survive if you had to live in a bunker? Find out as we discuss Season 1 of Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. We're gonna be honest, this conversation wanders a little bit but we still have fun! This show is just so fun and happy, which is a little odd considering the rather serious subject matter. We love how all of the characters are written. Especially Kimmy. It would be very easy to make her just an idiot. But while she's naive, she is not stupid. The one thing we do wonder about is Jane Krakowski's character being written as a Native American. We're sure there's a reason for it, but that storyline may not have aged as well as some of the others. Why isn't Ellie Kemper in more things? As the lead? She's amazing and we love her. Next month, it's spooky season so we're heading back to the world of Anne Rice and watching Season 2 of Interview with the Vampire! It's available on Netflix as of September 30th, but is currently available on Hoopla. (Support your local library!!) Only Murders in the Building (2021) - Season 1

Whodunnit?? This month, we podcast about a show that's about a podcast as we discuss Season 1 of Only Murders in the Building. Rachael and Evelyn really like this show. For Kerri, it was just okay. She would have preferred to be let in on what was actually going on earlier, and then watching the team figure it out would still have been engaging. We do like the relationship between Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez. They are a lot of fun together. Jane Lynch being Steve Martin's stunt double might be one of the best things that happened on this show. The article mentioned by Wagner in the Listener Email section: https://www.bbc.com/news/world-65951188?app-referrer=deep-link Up next, we head back over to Netflix as we watch Season 1 of Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. Squid Game (2021) - Season 3

Squid Game has finally come to an end with season 3 (2.5??). But was it satisfying? It certainly wasn't what we were expecting.  First of all, WHAT IS CATE BLANCHETT DOING IN SQUID GAME??? As awesome as that is and as much as there is potential for worldwide Squid Games, we don't need any more. We're good with this show being it. The VIPs are still just awkward, and they really don't need to speak. Just having them be a looking presence would have been enough.  We really feel for Gyeong-seok. How do you return to your life after going through such an experience? Especially, since no one else knows what happened.  Next month, The Bag has spoken and we will be watching season 1 of Only Murders in the Building. Tomorrow (2022) - Season 1

We visit the Korean afterlife this month as we watch the 2022 Netflix K-Drama, Tomorrow. TRIGGER WARNING: This show deals heavily with themes of suicide and sexual assault. Please take care of yourself and skip this episode if those topics are troubling for you. However, given the very serious nature of the topics covered in this show, it is truly life-affirming.  The show handles all the subjects very carefully and respectfully, but we feel it dropped the ball a bit with the follow-up after the person is "saved." What happens with them from there? Are these people now getting professional help? There are also some issues with how the "rules" of this afterlife work. They're not as consistent as they should be. Next month, we'll be watching the sure-to-be exciting final season of Squid Game. Upload (2020) - Season 1

It's time to visit the future as we explore the moral and ethical ramifications of the digital afterlife with 2020's Amazon Prime series, Upload.  We discuss if we would upload, our feelings on the sex suits, and whether Nathan is being held hostage by Ingrid. Also, which scifi franchise has the best self-driving cars? Kevin Bigley (Luke) totally has BDE - Big DeLuise Energy. Nathan and Nora are just the cutest. We love them. Aleesha and Luke are also just amazing.  Our next watch will be the K Drama Tomorrow. Daredevil (2015) - Season 1

This month, we visit Hell's Kitchen as we discuss season 1 of Daredevil. It's an interesting take on a superhero show as we watch Matt wrestle with the moral and ethical arguments of what he's doing and if it's necessary. The casting of this show is pretty much perfect. Wilson Fisk might be one of the most compelling villains on TV. The fight scenes are so good because they don't happen just because. There is always a bigger meaning and reason for them. Also, this show has a lot in common with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Jill Bearup's Hallway Fight Scene Analysis: https://youtu.be/aaGmKfSdBUQ?si=ivrPn6Q97Fb-dZBh For our next watch, Rachael's bag has chosen Upload season 1. Available on Amazon Prime. The Good Place (2016) - Season 1

We return to happier times as we discuss season 1 of The Good Place. The casting for this show is totally on point. The writing across all the seasons is excellent.  Just as a heads up in case you haven't seen the entire series, we do discuss some plot points from later seasons. And if you haven't watched the whole thing, why not? Get on it! We discuss what would be in our Good and Bad Places. What hints would tell us that what we think is the Good Place is actually the Bad Place (chores and stupid body pain)? Is the points system fair? We do go off on some tangents though…. Sorry. The rest of the cast being told that the Good Place is actually the Bad Place: https://youtu.be/3Bhyin0HaLU?si=-qK0s4C-BfJZ4Nkj Next up, we take a hard left and watch season 1 of Daredevil from 2015 (the original Netflix series now available on Disney+). Roswell, New Mexico (2019) - Season 1

This month, Rachael makes the girls watch the 2019 CW reboot Roswell, New Mexico. This is one of those shows where she didn't want to like being a big fan of the original (as Kerri and Evelyn are), but she did! Evelyn found it to be just fine. Kerri did not like this one at all. We all think it's a plus that the characters have been aged up out of high school. Plus, Claudia Black! It's always good to see her. But if there is one word that could be used to describe this show, it's "hamfisted." There's also just too much happening. At least half the plotlines could be dropped, which would greatly help. Next month, we're returning to a feel-good classic: season 1 of The Good Place which can be found on Netflix. Squid Game (2021) - Season 2

We're kicking off 2025 (and season 2 of this podcast!) with Season 2 of the smash hit Squid Game. If we have any complaints, it's that this season ended on a cliffhanger. We think they did a great job keeping the emotional intensity in season 2 even though audience knows what's going to happen during the games. And, interestingly, one of the people we're following through the games is one of the soldiers. It seems like their side of things is just as messed up as the players. Rachael has an interesting theory that many of the people in the game were brought in by the Front Man to test Gi-hun's resolve and his belief that people are still good. There's his best friend, a mother and son, a pregnant woman and her (ex)boyfriend. And with the voting after EVERY GAME, it shows that these people are here by their choice. Kerri's theory is that the In-ho brought Gi-hun back and allowed him to live so that the Games can be brought down. Or maybe he just wants Gi-hun to take over. Evelyn thinks the VIPs aren't even involved this time and In-ho is fully funding this as his own experiment. What we want from season 3: -Flashbacks to In-ho's time in the game as a player. -How/why did In-ho come back as the Front Man? -What's going to happen with the people who stayed behind when Gi-hun and that group went off to take down the games? -What exactly does the boat captain know about the games? -What's the deal with that weird shaman lady? Coming in February, we'll be discussing the 2019 reboot Roswell, New Mexico. It is now streaming on Netflix.  TRAILER: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NoaR_ih9Q0M TUMBLR: https://showclubpod.tumblr.com/ MERCH: https://showclub.redbubble.com/ EMAIL: [email protected]

    Staged (2020, Series 1-3)

This month we're covering all three series of the BBC comedy Staged. Kerri and Evelyn love this. Rachael, not so much. But that could be because it is such a product of its time and circumstances that watching it as a new viewer now it just doesn't have the same impact.  The one thing everyone can agree on is that the guest stars are amazing! Samuel L Jackson? Dame Judi Dench? CATE BLANCHETT?!?! Come on…  We do also talk a bit more about last month's pick The Orville because after that, everyone went and watched seasons 2 and 3. It's such a great show! And we might be getting a season 4? Fingers crossed.  Coming in January we'll be discussing season 2 of Squid Game. The Orville (2017) - Season 1

This month we head to outer space with season 1 of The Orville. And if, for some reason, you're not a fan of this one then #blameitonthebag. As for us, it's a hit all around. Kerri had never seen it before but will continue watching the rest of the seasons.  This show has a way of commenting on current social and political issues without feeling preachy. And the guest stars! So many amazing guest stars. There's also an interesting thing that since money doesn't exist at this point in the future, where is the incentive or what is the compensation like for people and doing their jobs? We also have some input on more vampire shows and other just excellent shows for possible consideration from a listener! Next up, we'll be watching all three seasons of the BBC Zoom dramedy Staged starring David Tennant and Michael Sheen. All episodes can be found on BritBox. Interview with the Vampire (2022) - Season 1

It's spooky season, so Kerri made Evelyn and Rachael watch season 1 of the greatest show currently on television, Anne Rice's Interview with the Vampire. This one is a hit across the board with everyone.  We talk a bit about the Rembrandt in Louis and Armand's dining room in Dubai and how it came to be in their possession. Evelyn wants to do a whole Ted Talk on Lestat and narcissism. We dive into Louis and Lestat's parenting, Lestat and his relationship with Antoinette and how it compares to what he has with Louis, and The Drop.  Rachael asks what is the perfect age to be turned into a vampire. Evelyn and Kerri agree that late 20s into your 30s is good. Definitely, after your brain has fully developed. Evelyn accidentally brings up Sam not being a natural blond and the whole existential crisis Sam had during his interview with Autumn Brown. Next up, we'll be watching season 1 of The Orville. Available on Hulu. TRAILER: https://youtu.be/cYRL93Ayp_g?si=PD4_6Du0UvUYBn0C TUMBLR: https://showclubpod.tumblr.com/ EMAIL: [email protected]

Dance Til Dawn (1988) - LIVE!

This week we're doing it LIVE! Commentary style as we watch the 1988 classic Made For TV Movie Dance Til Dawn. This one has everything and everyONE you could want from an 80s movie. It's Prom Night! There are new dates, old dates, surprise dates! Apologies for the feedback sounds. We were working through some technical issues. It's been cleaned up as much as possible. We hope it's not too annoying. You can find Dance Til Dawn here: https://youtu.be/OKQG87x8GmY?si=SkuvkLvFVecTZUGe. So, cue it up and watch along with us!! Next month, it's spooky season so we'll be watching season 1 of Anne Rice's Interview with the Vampire now available on Netflix and AMC+. Fringe (2008) - Season 1

Let's head back to 2008 and discuss season 1 of the cult classic, Fringe. This was an interesting conversation. Evelyn loves it (she picked it!), Rachael really likes it, but Kerri could not get into it. The pseudo-science was just too pseudo for her to get into. But given some of the things Evelyn and Rachael mention about later seasons, maybe she'll jump ahead a bit and see if she likes future episodes better. But everyone can agree that Joshua Jackson is amazing. Having his character be a conman gives him an interesting point of view into what Walter is doing and how he behaves. Perhaps this is one of those series that could be ripe for a reboot.  Next month we will be watching the 1989 Made for TV Movie Dance Til Dawn, available on YouTube, and doing a live commentary along with it! Sh**ting Stars (Shooting stars)

This month, we watched the 2022 K Drama Sh**ting Stars, which we're pretty sure is supposed to be Shooting Stars. But those asterisks are weird.  The show itself is an interesting commentary on fan culture and celebrity fixation. And it's also super cute and adorable. Tae Song and his driver coming up with ways for him to have a meet-cute with Han Byeol was one of the best things ever.  We do wish Reporter Jo Ki-Bbeum had told her boss off and left to start her own agency. We'll believe that happened once the show was over. It was a little frustrating how often a scene would end with someone saying they have something important to tell someone else and then we don't see that conversation actually happening until later in a flashback. Next month we will be watching season 1 of Fringe. It is available on Max and Freevee (via Amazon Prime). Hannibal - Season 2

This month, the girls discuss season 2 of NBC's Hannibal. It's a hit all around, though there are some small things that annoy. The cast is absolutely amazing. It's visually stunning and even the sound design is on point. We debate if Hannibal has a moral compass, if he loves Will. And also how funny this show is. Rachael does wish we had watched this in October, though. Next month we will be watching the Korean drama Shooting Stars, available on Viki. La Femme Nikita (1997) - Season 1

La Femme Nikita is the 90est show ever and we love it so much. It still holds up. We are quite confused about what country Section One is supposed to be associated with given the reveal in season 3 of where they are physically located. (SPOILER: It's underground, below the Eiffel Tower.) Evelyn has ALL the things to say about Michael. Kerri and Rachael cannot fault her for any of it. The interactions between the elder statesmen in section - Operations, Madeline, and Walter - are really great to see in a show like this. (Are they in a throuple? Who knows?)  How did Michael's wife warrant only one episode? That should have been a much longer story arc.  Kerri and Evelyn have many thoughts on Recasting if they were to remake this today. What do you think? We do briefly discuss the CW remake from a few years ago and it just wasn't quite as good.  Overall, we highly recommend that everyone watch this show. Streaming free on Tubi! Next month we will be watching Hannibal, Season 2. Now available on Amazon Prime. Too Hot to Handle - Season 4

This month Rachael tests the friendships as we discuss season 4 of the hit Netflix dating show, Too Hot to Handle. It's gloriously bad and there is definitely a lot to talk about.  We really appreciate when the contestants are able to have real conversations about how they're feeling. The workshops could use some help, though. The general idea of the show is interesting, but the execution could use some fixing.  What would it take to be able to spend a week in that house? Cos that would be awesome. La Femme Nikita (1997) Trailer, Season 1: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BjO0EHEBntg This show can be found streaming for free on Tubi. Suburra - Season 1

We're kicking off 2024 with season 1 of Suburra. Kerri LOVES this show. Evelyn enjoyed it, but not so much for Rachael. Despite the fact that there are no good guys, the characters are fleshed out enough that we do care for them. The plot might get a little bogged down in the middle, but it's still a great story.  For next month, in honor of Spring Break, Rachael has selected season 4 of Too Hot to Handle, available on Netflix. Arcane - Season 1

We're closing out the year with Evelyn's new favorite show - Arcane. Rachael agrees that this show is excellent. It's not really up Kerri's alley, though. We're not really sure why the upper city cares so much about the lower city wanting to be independent when they don't really care about the people that live down there, anyway. Rachael and Kerri were expecting something more to happen between Mel and Jayce, as in a betrayal perhaps, but nothing did. Everyone does love the boytoy, though. He's hilarious.  Making of Arcane, Season 1: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL5_skaAKwU5QAZOA09SGdkkMo49ijzWqx For January, Kerri has selected Suburra, Blood on Rome season 1 available on Netflix. The Outlaws (2021) - Season 1

This month, it's time to meet The Outlaws! The 2021 series is available on Amazon Prime and stars Stephen Merchant and Christopher Walken. Season 2 is out now! Kerri definitely likes this one a lot more than Rachael's last pick (Veronica Mars) and Evelyn thinks this is fine.    SPOILER WARNING: There is a massive twist that happens near the end of this season that is discussed in detail. So, if you haven't watched this show, go watch it and then come back and listen to what we have to say.   It's an interesting show because while there's a lot that happens and these people go through so much together, none of their circumstances have changed. The people have changed and become better, but their lives are exactly the same. It's really good, though.    Rani's mom is really super awesome. We love her. We also love Greg and Gabby. They're just awesome as friends. But what if Gabby's dad is the boss of The Dean? That would be interesting.   What would you guys do if you found a giant bag full of money? Also, THEY PAINTED OVER A REAL BANKSY!!! How could they?? Next month, Evelyn has selected Arcane: League of Legends which can be found on Netflix. Inside Man (2022)

This month, we discuss the 2022 series Inside Man created by Steven Moffat and starring David Tennant and Stanley Tucci. Everyone has THOUGHTS. It's a fascinating series where every decision a person makes is absolutely the wrong decision, but it's very easy to understand why that decision was made.  There is some dislike about the two storylines being so separate until right at the very end. We do all agree that the acting is absolutely amazing from everyone. One of the biggest questions we have is why doesn't Janice believe Harry at the beginning? Janice also seems to be the one keeping herself in this situation. Things didn't have to turn out this way. What would your final meal be if you were on death row? Inside Man BFI Q&A: https://youtu.be/Pgf_EOX7Q8A?si=RG0viseDdpHiuFfJ Next month, Rachael has selected season 1 of The Outlaws, available on Amazon Prime. Veronica Mars - Season 1

This was an interesting one. Rachael obviously loves Veronica Mars (this was her choice). Evelyn liked it well enough. Kerri HATED it. The acting is fine and it's really just the actual storylines and plot points that are the issue. Can we talk about the guest stars, though? Jessica Chastain! Adam Scott! Amanda Seyfried! Lisa Rinna and Harry Hamlin! All outstanding.  We also really appreciate that there was never anything romantic between Veronica and Wallace. They're just besties and that's great.  Next month, Kerri has selected Inside Man. The 2022 limited series starring David Tennant and Stanley Tucci, available on Netflix. The Uncanny Counter - Season 1

This month we discuss season 1 of The Uncanny Counter (season 2 out now!). The characters in this show are so great and fleshed out so well. Do you guys enjoy just being thrown into the deep end of a show's lore or is the info dump important? Where are all the adults in the school while there's attempted murder happening? But So Mun was a total badass for calling out the strongest bully to try and put an end to everything. And we hope the redemption arc that was started for Hyuk-woo at the end of season 1 continues in season 2. What exactly are the rules for non-interference in human affairs? Because those lines go wibbly-wobbly quite a bit.  Next month, Rachael has selected Veronica Mars, Season 1, available on Hulu. Taskmaster - Series 9

It's finally time to talk about Taskmaster! Kerri got Rachael and Evelyn to watch series 9 and, spoilers, THEY LOVED IT!! It has become one of Evelyn's happy shows when she needs cheering up. We talk a bit about the history of Taskmaster and the various international versions that exist. There is also a Prize Task! Which might not be the best thing on an audio podcast… We discuss some outtakes, which contestants we liked, and, of course, the shid.  Next month, we will be watching season 1 of The Uncanny Counter, available on Netflix. Money Heist (La Casa de Papel) - Part 2

We conclude the heist of the National Mint of Spain with Money Heist, Part 2! We discuss the predictions we made (off air) and which ones we got correct and which ones we got wrong. We did okay. We still don't know what Tokyo is doing there. So, the Professor and Berlin are brothers? Whoops… Denver thinking Stockholm Syndrome is an actual physical illness is one of the most amazing character choices ever. The one thing we had an issue with is the timeframe at the very end after the cops decide to storm the Mint and take them down. Way too much time passes between seeing the cops get set-up and then them actually going into the Mint. How much time was that?  Next month, Kerri makes Rachael and Evelyn watch Taskmaster Series 9. You can find all episodes on the official Taskmaster YouTube Channel or check out the link below. Money Heist (La Casa de Papel) - Part 1

This month Rachael aka Cairo, Evelyn aka Charlotte, and Kerri aka Juneau discuss Money Heist - Part 1 (La Casa de Papel). Which really should have been called House of Paper because that is a much better title. The flashbacks in this show serve a really good purpose of filling in the blanks and also keeping the story moving along. Tokyo is kind of useless at this point. But we do stan Raquel and Monica and Nairobi. The Professor can totally get it and we really want him and Raquel to be a real couple but there's no way that's gonna happen.  Next month, we continue with Part 2 because this show is just so good! Trust (FX)

This month we discuss FX's 2018 limited series Trust. It's a show where the main story is not the interesting part and it's difficult to watch a show where all the main characters are horrible people. However, the show is able to get us to understand these characters even if we don't like them.  And then there's Primo. He is possibly the most interesting character in this whole thing. Big props to Luca for pulling that performance off. We also cast swap! Who else would we want to see in these roles? Come back next month when we'll be discussing the Brazilian Netflix drama Money Heist (Part 1). LINKS: Adriano Celentano – Prisencolinensinainciusol https://youtu.be/r_EBFvzyje8 nobody speak | Primo https://youtu.be/ehNjs9SS2MM TUMBLR: https://showclubpod.tumblr.com/ EMAIL: [email protected]

    Bulgasal: Immortal Souls

This month we discuss Bulgasal: Immortal Souls. While we do like the show, it does have some issues that could be sorted out. Mostly concerning the flashback. Do they work as a narrative device or detract from understanding the characters' full motivations? Why did none of the Bulgasals ever talk to each other over the 1000 of years they've been in existence? It doesn't make much sense that Ok Eul-Tae never tried to get Hwal on his side. Also, a map would be extremely helpful. We also do a cast swap! What other actors would we cast in these roles? Our next show will be the 2018 limited series, Trust. It originally aired on FX and is available on Hulu (and possibly Disney+ outside of North America). TUMBLR: https://showclubpod.tumblr.com/ EMAIL: [email protected]

Alice in Borderland - Season 2

We're kicking this off with Alice in Borderland, Season 2 (also a little bit of season 1). Did this even actually happen or not? If not, does it even mean anything? We do, however, very much appreciate episode 2 and the camera choreography employed to cover the naked guy's sensitive bits.  We also give a try at casting some of the roles for an American remake. You know it's inevitable. Chris Evans as naked guy? Our next show will be Bulgasal: Immortal Souls, available on Netflix. TUMBLR: https://showclubpod.tumblr.com/ EMAIL: [email protected]
