A Mid-Year Relationship Reset for Epic Love – Emma Solo (Ep.39)
Summer gives us a natural opening for reflection and recalibration. There’s more space, more sun, and more energy to shift the patterns that aren’t working. In our relationships, that means we can use this season as a reset point, to choose something different, more intentional, and more connected. In this episode, I walk you through the 5 elements of our Successful Relationship Strategy™ and show you how to use each one to up-level your relationship. We look at what’s common in struggling and “just fine” relationships… and what becomes possible when you start doing things differently.Whether things feel okay or you’re longing for more, this episode will help you identify how to reset your rhythms and invest differently so you can create the love you really want.In today’s episode, I cover:The 5 core elements of a thriving relationshipHow average habits quietly cap your connectionWhat an extraordinary relationship actually looks likeTangible ways to elevate each element this summerHow these elements at the heart of lasting loveAt the end of the episode, I also guide you on how to use summer energy to amplify your relationship reset, from playful rituals to meaningful conversations. You’ll walk away with a clear framework to assess where you’re at, what might need attention, and how to take aligned action to elevate your relationship from ordinary to extraordinary. The Framework for Your Reset1. Mindset & MeaningThe way we think about our relationship shapes how we experience it. Our beliefs, assumptions, expectations, and internal narratives can either create connection, or keep us locked in disempowering patterns. In a Struggling Relationship – There’s blame, criticism, mind-reading, and unrealistic expectations. Partners often operate from old scripts, inherited beliefs, or rigid roles without examining what actually works. In an Ordinary Relationship – People avoid big issues, tolerate disconnect, and operate from habit. There’s no intentional reframing, just a general “this is how it is.”In an Extraordinary Relationship – Each partner takes ownership of their perspective, challenges limiting beliefs, and chooses a mindset that empowers them both. They define their own meaning around love, marriage, commitment, partnership, teamwork, roles, and expectations. And do so with clarity and mutual respect.Reset – Reflect on what beliefs, expectations, or inherited definitions you’re bringing into your relationship. Where are you making assumptions? Where might those need to be updated?t life, be honest:2. Communication & AlignmentCommunication is more than talking, it’s how we connect, understand, and co-create.In a Struggling Relationship – There’s defensiveness, withdrawal, constant miscommunication, or escalated fights. Repairs don’t happen or happen poorly. In an Ordinary Relationship – Partners talk mostly about logistics. Emotional depth is rare. They’re not fully attuned or on the same page.In an Extraordinary Relationship – Communication is intentional and kind. Partners stay curious, validate each other’s experiences, and repair quickly when needed. They speak from a grounded place and know how to collaborate under pressure.Try this – Notice your communication patterns. Are you interrupting, shutting down, staying surface-level? What small shifts would make your conversations feel safer and more connective?3. Clarity & DynamicsEvery couple has patterns but without awareness, those patterns run the show.In a Struggling Relationship – Partners are reactive, constantly triggering each other and looping through unresolved issues. It’s chaotic and painful. In an Ordinary Relationship – They brush issues aside or address them only at the surface. The same fights or emotional injuries repeat, and nothing truly changes. In an Extraordinary Relationship – There’s deep personal work. Partners recognize patterns, take responsibility for their part, and stretch to meet each other with compassion. They use conflict as an opportunity for growth.Try this – Track one pattern that keeps repeating. Is it a specific argument? A trigger point? A shutdown or explosion? Explore what it connects to and how you can tend to it more intentionally in yourself and together.4. Connection & IntimacyReal intimacy requires attention and it’s more than just physical. It’s about emotional presence, shared rituals, and co-created joy.In a Struggling Relationship – There’s disconnection, minimal affection, poor or no sex life, and unresolved emotional distance. In an Ordinary Relationship – Couples coexist. There may be affection and sex, but it feels routine. Emotional intimacy and closeness fades over time.In an Extraordinary Relationship – There’s regular affection, meaningful connection, playfulness, flirtation, and physical intimacy that feels safe, satisfying and soul nourishing. Partners prioritize fun and nurturing.Try this – Have a check-in about how connected you feel. Talk about what feels good, what’s missing, and what you’d each love more of, without blame.5. Collaboration & PartnershipLove isn’t enough. A shared life needs a shared vision and goals, and a structure and systems for collaboration and co-creation.In a Struggling Relationship – One person does it all, or everything is a mess. There’s resentment, imbalance, and lack of vision and support. In an Ordinary Relationship – Roles are assumed but not clear. There’s minimal long-term planning and just enough structure to stay afloat. In an Extraordinary Relationship – Partners co-create their life with intention. They set shared goals, divide responsibilities consciously, and have systems that reflect their values and strengths. There’s vision, direction, and smooth collaboration.Try this – Have a “state of the union” talk. Review division of labor, shared visions, goals, routines, and where you each feel supported or not. What would help you feel more like a team?A relationship reset isn’t about shooting for perfection, it’s about choosing better for a more aligned, joyful, and happy life. Where the partners find better ways of showing up for themselves and each other.Summer gives us the perfect backdrop for change. We can ride the momentum of this energy into what we long to experience and create.Let this season be the moment you pause, reflect, and recommit to your relationship. so that you can move into the rest of the year more aligned, connected, and on purpose…You get to decide what kind of love you want. Now’s the time to build it.Listen to the episode for weaving in a summer theme into your reset. Bring a Brand New You to Your Relationship in the New Year w/ Tavia Sharp (Ep.29)
Sometimes we overcomplicate what it takes to take ourselves and our relationship to the next level. We might think it’s hopeless, that it’s impossible, and that it’s too much work and either not worth it or that we can’t do it. We might think we have to do all the work because our partner doesn’t want to even talk about our relationship. We might feel stuck and alone. But all that is not necessarily true! At some level you are choosing to experience your life and your relationship that way. And so you cocreate that experience with your partner… Don’t shoot the messenger. All the psychobabble aside, suffice it to say that you can bypass all this heartache and headache and take a shortcut… That’s right, a shortcut. Why not? Who said we can’t make things easier for ourselves? This shortcut has to do with changing your personal brand, including your image, to show up to your relationship and your life differently… Letting your brand lead the way, you’ll automatically shift your state, your mood, your energy and become more magnetic inspiring something different in your interactions… In this episode, I have motivating and fun conversation with Personal Branding Expert, Tavia Sharp, on what is our personal brand, the impact in has on our relationship and our life, identifying when we need a brand refresh, what a brand refresh can do for us, how the refresh can rekindle romantical sparks in our relationship and change our dynamics, how to address fear or resistance to upgrades and changes, and how to use the holidays to start our refresh to set ourselves up to start the new year with a brand you us… We also explore Tavia’s process for rebranding ourselves! Creating More Harmony and Passion in Your Relationship w/ Valerie Greene (Ep.28)
Even though we love our partner so much, we might still find that we fight or feel disconnected often… We might attribute this to flukes, poor communication skills, our partner’s attributes and imperfections, our sensitivities or triggers, or not being compatible and wondering about our commitment to the relationship… And there might be some truth to some or all of these… But there is also something else going on as well. Something that most partners don’t usually pay attention to. And that is how they are using their Core Masculine or Feminine Energies… Gender aside, partners have both energies as human beings. And they inherently lean towards one more than the other at their core. Things got messed up for us with the women’s movement in that women had to take on more of their masculine traits and characteristics to survive and compete in a man’s world. Shunning and repressing their more feminine traits. Our world hasn’t been valuing feminine characteristics like emotionality, expressiveness, sensitivity, compassion, empathy, nurturing, caring, intuition, creativity, flow, gentleness, helpfulness, collaboration, and such… When people show up with these traits, they are considered weak… So, women and other female identifying persons have adapted to using their masculine traits more: logical, reserved, disciplined, ambitious, planner, leader, assertive, aggressive, courageous, and such…Why do we care about this? Because when both partners show up to an interaction, or to their relationship in general, with masculine energy, that’s what creates friction. That’s when they butt heads, disagree and fight. And that’s when the Core Masculine person in the relationship gets displaced, where they then become disengaged or distant. Creating the feeling of disconnection in the relationship… To make matters worse, there is no attraction between two of the same core energies… Opposites are needed to create passion and be swept off our feet if our core is feminine and that’s what we desire. In this episode, I have a wonderfully enlightening conversation with Women and Relationship Coach, Valerie Greene on how to use our Core Energies to create more harmony and passion in our relationship. We explore the differences between masculine and feminine energies, how to identify what energy we are operating from and how to distinguish when each is called for, what type of relationship gets created according to what energy we choose to show up with, that we can choose what kind of relationship we want to create, how to bring our feminine energy back online, and how we can turn our relationship around. Additionally, we cover how to feel and expand our gratitude feels this holiday season.Hope you enjoy it! *Visit the Episode’s Page for the Video, related content, info about the guest, other resources AND to get our FREE Relationship Enrichment Mini Course! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~STAY CONNECTED: Facebook | Instagram | LinkedIn | X | Pinterest | YouTube DISCLAIMER: This content is meant to support your Journey and not as a replacement for professional assistance. Legal Matters of the Heart, from Prenups to Divorce, and Beyond w/ Leona Krasner (Ep.27)
We are totally in love and decide to go exclusive, move in together, get engaged, get married, have children… But wait, we have to consider what’s the best way to go about the practical side of these steps… When we fall in love and are feeling all mushy, we don’t usually consider the practical strategies that might be helpful to have in place to create a smooth and harmonious life… We don’t consider what might be needed to be protected against unfortunate events and to create safety in the relationship. Prenups, postnups and the like might get a bad rap for representing cautiousness about the partner and what their future might hold. But there is so much more that goes along with creating legal documents and having financial strategies in our relationship. The documents and strategies don’t exist in a vacuum. They are part of a more meaningful conversation and a larger plan that protects the partners and their future. What I love about this topic is that having these adulting pieces in place creates emotional security as well. The relationship dynamics are no longer informed by possible powerplays, doubt, fear, distrust, lack and so on. Everyone knows where they stand and the status of things, and are off on equitable and transparent footing. Which actually is a healthy way to start a joint life… In this episode, I have a phenomenal conversation with Leona Krasner, a Family Attorney, about all the different legal needs throughout the lifespan of a relationship. We cover dating to post divorce if that’s the couple’s fate, and special circumstances that might arise. We have a lighthearted and very warm and mushy conversation considering the topic. Super thoughtful and resourceful. Naturopathic and Spiritual Approach to Mental Health and Overall Wellbeing w/ Dr. Serena Goldstein (Ep.26)
There are times in life when we feel amazing and there are times when we don’t feel so hot… This is especially true when we struggle with our mental health and have possibly even been diagnosed with a mental health disorder… Our relationship and our life can be a real struggle if we struggle with our own wellbeing… For it is difficult to show up with our best self if we are not feeling our best. But we don’t have to struggle, there are so many approaches and modalities we can utilize to have our own back in feeling optimally and creating our best self, best relationship, and best life! We don’t have to suffer. We don’t have to be on medications that might make things worse. We don’t have to feel limited and miss out on joy and happiness, deeply and meaningfully connecting with our partner, doing the most gorgeous parenting, having a successful career or business, and everything else our heart desires… In this episode, I have a super resourceful and inspiring conversation with Dr. Serena Goldstein, a Naturopathic Doctor, who is with us for a second time, and this time addressing mental health and overall wellbeing. We discuss a more natural, holistic and even spiritual approach to healing, wellness and feeling on top of the world. Relationship Experiential Awareness for Repairing, Connecting and Relating Beyond Words w/ Carmela Bennett (Ep.25)
Even though words are important sometimes they are overrated… Hence, we say things like, A picture is worth a thousand words… And in this case, there is so much more communication going on between partners than what words can say… We know we communicate in a lot of different ways, including non-verbal communication and body language… But what if I told you that those are also very basic. Parenting Neurodivergent Kids: Tantrums, Parenting Styles, and Self-regulation w/ Polina Shkadron (Pt1) (Ep.17)
Is there chaos in your home because of tantrums, meltdowns, acting out, or disobedience from your child? Is your child neurodivergent? Have they been diagnosed with ADHD, autism, or other diagnoses on the spectrum? Being a parent is one of the most rewarding roles in this human experience, and one of the most challenging ones. It is a huge responsibility to create and raise another human being… The role brings with it inherent challenges and demands, and it does even more so when we have children with special needs of some sort. But because the role is demanding and because our child might have demanding needs, it doesn’t mean we have to struggle with it and that our family life has to suffer as a result. We can learn parenting and relationship skills, and we can totally learn how to parent children with special needs in a way that supports them and the whole family. In today’s episode I’m excited to have a super-rich conversation with Polina Shkadron, a Play Therapist, about parenting neurodivergent children. Our conversation was so good, it became a 2-part episode. In today’s part, we cover the importance of play for the child’s growth, development and wellbeing and utilizing play dynamics in the parent-child relationship. We also cover why children have tantrums and how to manage them, and the importance of self-regulation. …………………………………………………🌟ABOUT OUR GUEST:Polina Shkadron is a trauma-informed speech-language pathologist, family communication and feeding expert specializing in families living with Autism, ADHD, language and literacy difficulties. Explore Interconnectedness for More Harmony and Joy w/ Dr Jeffrey Dunne (Ep.12)
As we awaken to the reality that everything is interconnected and that we are all interconnected, we can relax in knowing that everything can be easier including our relationship… Why? Because then it’s much easier to feel our connection, to relate to each other in more positive ways, to collaborate, to have compassion and SO much more… When we embrace the idea of interconnectedness, and see how everything relates to everything else, how everything is in relationship with everything else, then we can realize that we are part of something bigger. We are all part of the same thing, Life. We are all part of the same Consciousness. We are One. Through this interconnectedness:When we are generous or greedy with one, we are so in all. When we are kind or mean with one, we are so in all. When we love or hate one, we do so in all…And so on… This has massive implications for self-love, partner-love, and other-love… In today’s episode, I have an enlightening and informative conversation about the concept of interconnectedness, unity consciousness, and implications for a more harmonious and loving relationship and a more sustainable future……………………………………………………🌟ABOUT OUR GUEST:Dr. Jeffrey Dunne is President of the International Consciousness Research Laboratories (ICRL), an organization established in 1997 to continue the research of the effects of consciousness on physical systems carried out at Princeton University from 1979-2007. Cultivate a Healthy Relationship with Food for Overall Wellbeing w/ Brigitte Zeitlin (Ep.10)
We are all aware of the importance of food to our health and wellbeing, but I find it fascinating how much intricacy there is to eating well and getting the proper nutrition for our body.Food impacts so many aspects of our life—from our energy level, vitality, immunity, recovery, and sleep to our female cycle, beauty, brain function, mood, resilience, and so much more. How we engage with our environment, our habits and routines, and the relationship we have with others AND ourselves also impact our internal laboratory and how we make use of our food.Using food well for our overall health and wellness, vitality, longevity, happiness, and enjoyment of life is a key aspect of creating our best life. Putting anything in our mouths simply to satiate hunger and get a boost of energy just doesn’t cut it.In today’s episode, I have a very informative conversation with Brigitte Zeitlin about eating healthy, wellness habits, self-care, and having a great relationship with food.In today’s episode, I cover:Why food and nutrition are important to our overall wellbeingHow food can impact energy, vitality, immunity, sleep, mood, and resilienceThe importance of having a healthy relationship with foodHow our habits and routines influence how we use foodHow our relationship with ourselves can affect our relationship with foodThe connection between nutrition, wellness, and self-careHow to use food intentionally to support a healthy and fulfilling lifeYou’ll walk away with a greater appreciation for the role food plays in your overall wellbeing and a better understanding of why cultivating a healthy relationship with food is an important part of creating your best life.Understanding the Bigger Role of FoodFood is essential to our health, but its impact goes far beyond simply satisfying hunger. What we eat and how we eat can influence many different aspects of our physical and emotional wellbeing. Our energy, vitality, immunity, recovery, sleep, mood, resilience, and even brain function can all be influenced by the way we nourish ourselves. When we understand the broader role food plays in our lives, we can begin to approach nutrition as an important part of our overall wellbeing rather than simply something we need to do to get through the day.Creating a Healthy Relationship With FoodHow we go about food and eating is impactful in and of itself. It’s not only about what we put into our bodies, but also about the relationship we have with food. When food becomes something we use only to satisfy hunger or get a quick boost of energy, we may miss the opportunity to use nutrition to support our overall health, vitality, and enjoyment of life.Cultivating a great relationship with food allows us to become more intentional about how we nourish ourselves and how food fits into our broader wellbeing. The Connection Between Food and WellnessFood is one piece of the larger wellness picture. Our habits, routines, environment, and the way we engage with others and ourselves can all affect our internal laboratory and how we make use of the food we consume. This means that eating well isn’t simply about following a list of foods. It’s also about understanding the different factors that influence our wellbeing and creating habits that support us as a whole person. When these pieces work together, food can become a powerful part of our overall wellness practice.Food as Part of Self-CareSelf-care isn’t limited to occasional activities or moments of relaxation. How we nourish ourselves every day is also part of how we care for ourselves.Making thoughtful choices around food can support our energy, vitality, health, and ability to enjoy our lives. When we approach nutrition as an intentional form of self-care, we can begin to see eating well as something that supports our best life rather than something that simply needs to be managed.Using Food to Support Your Best LifeOur goal isn’t simply to eat for the sake of eating. We want to use food well so that it supports our overall health and wellness, vitality, longevity, happiness, and enjoyment of life.Food can become one of the resources we intentionally use to create the life we want to experience. When we cultivate a healthy relationship with food and understand how nutrition interacts with our habits, routines, environment, and relationship with ourselves, we create a stronger foundation for overall wellbeing.Creating Greater Wellbeing Through Intentional ChoicesCreating our best life involves becoming more conscious about the choices we make every day. Food is one of those choices.By bringing greater awareness to how we eat, how we nourish ourselves, and how our relationship with food affects our wellbeing, we can make choices that better support the life we want.Listen to the episode with Brigitte to learn more about eating healthy, developing wellness habits, practicing self-care, and cultivating a healthy relationship with food for overall wellbeing.Hope this information serves you and helps you get on the path to your Successful Relationship and Meaningful Life.MENTIONED INSIDE AND MORE1-Pg Downloadables:Relationship Collaboration System Watch our related videos on our: Youtube channelABOUT OUR GUESTBrigitte Zeitlin, MPH, RD, CDN is a celebrated women’s nutrition coach, registered dietitian, and media personality. Thriving Through Transitions, Creating New Beginnings w/ Deborah Donenfeld (Ep.9)
Subscribe nowYes, it’s that time of year when we are looking for our New Beginning, to start fresh. We transition into a new chunk of time with the expectation that things will be different. That we’ll make all the changes we want to realize everything we desire. The thing is that change and transitions can be challenging. If it was so easy to create change, most people wouldn’t struggle in life and they’d go through transitions with flying colors. We all know that is hardly ever the case. If anything, transitions are times when life gets even more challenging, when we get triggered, and when we don’t feel so good. And even when we go through transitions we desire—like getting married, having a baby, moving to a new home, starting a new job, or entering a New Year—we can still have a bumpy road.In today’s episode, I have a lovely conversation with Deborah Donenfeld about creating change and how to have our back when going through transitions. In today’s episode, I cover:Why transitions and change can be challengingWhy even positive and desired transitions can come with difficultiesWhat happens when we feel triggered or uncomfortable during periods of changeHow to support ourselves when navigating major life transitionsHow to create change while having compassion for ourselvesHow to move through difficult changes with greater awareness and intentionHow to create a new beginning while honoring the process of transitionYou’ll walk away with a greater understanding of why transitions can feel difficult even when they are changes you wanted and how you can better support yourself as you move through them and create your new beginning.Understanding Why Transitions Can Be ChallengingChange is a natural part of life, but that doesn’t mean it is always easy. We often enter a new period of our lives with expectations that things will be different and that we will finally make the changes we desire.Yet transitions can bring uncertainty, discomfort, and emotional challenges. They can push us outside of what is familiar and trigger reactions we may not expect.Understanding that difficulty is a normal part of transition can help us approach these periods with greater awareness and compassion. When Even Positive Change Feels DifficultNot every difficult transition is something we wanted to avoid. Sometimes the changes we experience are things we genuinely desire.Getting married, having a baby, moving to a new home, starting a new job, or beginning a new year can all represent exciting new chapters. And yet, even these positive transitions can come with a bumpy road.Recognizing this helps us avoid the expectation that a desired change should automatically feel easy or perfect.Having Your Own Back During ChangeWhen we are going through a transition, we may feel triggered, overwhelmed, or simply not like ourselves. These experiences don’t mean that we are failing at the transition.Instead, they are opportunities to become more aware of what we are experiencing and to support ourselves through it.Having your own back means recognizing what you need, giving yourself compassion, and allowing yourself to move through the process rather than expecting yourself to have everything figured out immediately.Creating Change With AwarenessCreating meaningful change requires more than simply deciding that things will be different. We also need to understand what happens within us as we move through the transition. When we bring awareness to our reactions, emotions, expectations, and challenges, we have more opportunity to respond intentionally instead of simply reacting to what is happening. This awareness can help us navigate change with greater resilience and create the new beginning we are looking for.Moving Through Difficult Changes With GraceTransitions don’t always happen in a straight line. There can be difficult moments, unexpected challenges, and times when we question ourselves or the direction we are taking.Rather than seeing those moments as evidence that something has gone wrong, we can recognize them as part of the process. With support, compassion, and awareness, we can work through our edges and move through tough changes with greater grace.Creating Your New BeginningA new beginning isn’t simply about leaving the past behind or becoming a completely different person. It is about navigating the transition in front of us and intentionally creating what comes next. When we understand that change can be challenging, we can prepare ourselves for the process instead of being caught off guard by it.We can give ourselves permission to experience the difficult parts while continuing to move toward the life and experiences we desire.Listen to the episode with Deborah to explore how to create change, have your own back during transitions, and move through life’s big changes with greater compassion and grace.Hope this information serves you and helps you get on the path to your Successful Relationship and Meaningful Life.MENTIONED INSIDE AND MORE1-Pg Downloadables:Relationship Collaboration SystemWatch our related videos on our: Youtube channelABOUT OUR GUESTDeborah Donenfeld is the owner of Photosynthesis Coaching and a life coach specializing in supporting people in midlife who are starting over. Uplevel EVERYTHING by Embracing a Self-Love Practice... – Emma Solo (Ep.8)
The concept of self-care might feel super played out, but now more than ever, how we view and treat ourselves has a profound effect on our life and the lives of others.Self-care is actually a simplistic notion when what we require to realize our highest wellness and levels of self-realization, our most harmonious and loving relationship/s, and our most radiant human experience is embracing self-love.Self-love transcends all our foibles, defenses, and patterns. It transcends hopelessness, anger, and fear, our ego, and judgment. It is the way to our better existence. As we start the new year, and we are excited for a new beginning and a new me, #ME2.0, I want to offer a simple framework for shifting our mindset and our consciousness around how to go about being ourselves and doing our lives. Let’s kick off the new year right—this shift will usher in your grandest life adventure. In today’s episode, I cover:Why self-care alone may not be enough for our highest wellnessWhat self-love really means and how it differs from self-careHow the way we view and treat ourselves affects our lives and relationshipsHow self-love can help us move beyond judgment, fear, anger, and limiting patternsHow to shift our mindset and consciousness around ourselvesHow to begin embracing a self-love practice in everyday lifeHow self-love can support a new beginning and a more radiant human experienceYou’ll walk away with a new perspective on self-care and self-love, along with a simple way to begin shifting how you relate to yourself so you can create greater wellness, more harmonious relationships, and a more radiant life.Moving Beyond Self-CareSelf-care has become a familiar concept, but taking care of ourselves can go much deeper than simply engaging in activities that make us feel better or more rested. The way we view and treat ourselves has a profound effect on our lives and on the people around us. This is why self-love can become such an important practice.Rather than focusing only on what we do for ourselves, self-love invites us to look at the relationship we have with ourselves and how we show up in our lives.Embracing Self-LoveSelf-love allows us to move beyond the limitations of our usual patterns, defenses, and ways of seeing ourselves. It isn’t about believing that everything we do is perfect or avoiding the difficult parts of ourselves. Instead, it creates an opportunity to approach ourselves with greater awareness and acceptance.Self-love can help us move beyond hopelessness, anger, fear, ego, and judgment so that we can experience ourselves and our lives differently.Shifting Your Mindset and ConsciousnessCreating a new beginning requires more than simply deciding to become a “new me.” It requires a shift in how we think, how we see ourselves, and how consciously we participate in our lives. As we enter a new year and embrace the idea of #ME2.0, we have an opportunity to become more intentional about the way we approach ourselves and our lives.By shifting our mindset and consciousness, we create the possibility for a different and more fulfilling experience.Making Self-Love a PracticeSelf-love doesn’t have to be complicated. The goal is to make it something we can actually integrate into our everyday lives.A practice means continuing to bring awareness to how we treat ourselves, how we respond to our experiences, and how we show up for ourselves. The more consistently we practice self-love, the more naturally it can become part of how we live, relate, and experience the world.Upleveling Your Life Through Self-LoveWhen we embrace self-love, we aren’t only improving our relationship with ourselves. We create the possibility of improving our relationships, our wellness, and our overall human experience.Self-love supports our ability to create more harmonious and loving relationships because the way we relate to ourselves influences how we relate to others. It can become a foundation for our highest wellness, self-realization, and most radiant human experience.Creating Your New BeginningA new year can be an invitation to create a new beginning—not by rejecting who we have been, but by becoming more conscious about who we are and how we want to live.Embracing a self-love practice gives us an opportunity to shift the way we approach ourselves and our lives and begin creating our grandest life adventure.Listen to the episode to explore how embracing a self-love practice can help you uplevel your life, your relationships, and your overall experience.Hope this information serves you and helps you get on the path to your Successful Relationship.MENTIONED INSIDE AND MOREEmbrace a Self-Love Practice1-Pg Downloadables:Relationship Collaboration System Watch our related videos on our: Plan for a NEW BEGINNING and for a LIFETIME of LOVEBeat the WINTER BLUES – When NOT Feeling Like YourselfYoutube channelDISCLAIMER: This content is meant to support your Journey and not as a replacement for professional assistance. Best Practices for a Healthy, Wealthy and Financially Successful Marriage w/ Stacy Francis (Ep.7)
How you manage the finances in your relationship is a good barometer of your relationship health. Yes, that’s a bold statement. The thing is that finances equal the relationship’s resources and ability to realize the couple’s Best Life. Now, I’m not claiming that you need a ton of money to have your Best Life, nor that if you have a ton of money that you are realizing your Best Life. It’s not about the amount. What I am claiming is that how you manage the finances in your relationship is an indicator of the strength of your partnership and what kind of life you are able to realize. When there is a lack of transparency, collaboration, and partnership in money management, the same can potentially be found in other areas of the relationship. In today’s episode, I have a compelling and resourceful conversation with Stacy Francis about how to manage finances in our relationship with our partner and how to create a secure and wealthy future. And, who knew, almost anyone can become a millionaire! In today’s episode, I cover:How financial management can reflect the health of your relationshipWhy transparency is important when managing money as a coupleThe importance of collaboration and partnership around financesHow couples can work toward a secure and wealthy futureHow our financial choices can support the life we want to create togetherPractical resources and tools for managing financesWhy building wealth isn’t simply about how much money you haveYou’ll walk away with a greater understanding of how your approach to money can impact your relationship, your partnership, and your ability to create the life you want together.Money Management as a Reflection of Your RelationshipMoney is more than just numbers. In a relationship, finances represent resources and the ability to create and realize the life you want together. That’s why the way a couple manages money can provide insight into the strength of their partnership. When partners are transparent, collaborative, and intentional with their finances, they are practicing many of the same qualities that support a strong relationship. On the other hand, a lack of transparency or collaboration around money can potentially point to challenges in other areas of the relationship as well.Creating Transparency Around FinancesFinancial transparency is an important part of creating security and trust between partners. When both people understand what is happening financially, they can participate more fully in creating their shared future.Being transparent means creating space for both partners to be informed and involved rather than leaving financial decisions or responsibilities entirely to one person. The goal is to build a partnership around money where both people can understand the bigger picture and work together toward their shared goals.Building a Financial PartnershipManaging finances as a couple requires more than simply paying bills. It requires collaboration and partnership. When couples work together around their finances, they have an opportunity to align their resources with the life they want to create. This means looking at money as something that can support the couple’s shared vision rather than becoming a source of division or disconnection.A strong financial partnership allows both people to participate in the process and make decisions that support their relationship and their future.Creating a Secure and Wealthy FutureFinancial security and wealth aren’t simply about having a large amount of money. What matters is how you manage the resources you have and how intentionally you use them to create the life you want. The conversation with Stacy explores how couples can think differently about their financial future and take steps toward creating greater security and wealth. And as Stacy reminds us, almost anyone can become a millionaire. The bigger question is how we manage, grow, and use our resources in a way that supports the life we want to live.Using Resources and Tools to Support Your GoalsHaving the right resources can make financial management more accessible and actionable. There are tools available that can help couples track spending, create budgets, and become more intentional with their money. The episode also points listeners toward resources such as Savvy Ladies and financial-management apps including PocketExpense, GoodBudget, and YNAB (You Need a Budget). These tools can help make the financial side of your relationship more visible and give you practical ways to begin working together.Creating Your Best Life TogetherUltimately, financial success isn’t about reaching a particular number. It’s about using your resources intentionally so that you and your partner can create and realize your Best Life. When couples bring transparency, collaboration, and partnership into their money management, they strengthen more than their finances. They strengthen the way they work together as a couple. The goal is to create a healthy, wealthy, and financially successful marriage where both partners are actively participating in creating the future they want.Listen to the episode with Stacy Francis to learn more about managing finances in your relationship, creating greater financial security, and building a wealthy future together. How to Thrive this Holiday Season by Managing Expectations, Temptations, and Family Dynamics - Emma Solo (Ep.6)
Do you find the Holiday Season stressful and overwhelming, wonderful and magical, or all of the above? You are not alone in feeling ambivalent about the holidays. There is so much that takes place and that we experience in a short amount of time. And yes, I know—first-world problems. Nonetheless, this is part of our experience, and denying or minimizing it doesn’t serve us. The opposite is true. When we have awareness of how we are operating and feeling, we can have our own back, address what’s not serving us, and create the magic we seek. The holidays, just as anything else in our life, are what we make of them. Do we make them more challenging than they have to be? Do we create bondage around how we approach them? Do we trigger ourselves? Do we give our power away? Do we create misery? All of this can be avoided, and the opposite can be created. We can have a smooth end-of-year, magical holidays, and an exciting new year—but only if we are intentional and proactive about what we create. In today’s episode, I cover:Why the Holiday Season can feel stressful, overwhelming, wonderful, or magicalHow our expectations can affect our experience of the holidaysHow to become more aware of what is and isn’t serving usWays to manage and anticipate holiday challengesHow to get ahead of stress and emotional triggersHow family dynamics and holiday activities can impact usHow to be intentional and proactive about creating the holiday experience we wantHow to create a smoother, more enjoyable, joyful, and magical seasonYou’ll walk away with greater awareness of the things that can make the holidays challenging and practical ways to manage, anticipate, and get ahead of them—so you can have your own back and create more of the holiday experience you actually want.Understanding Your Holiday ExperienceThe Holiday Season can bring up many different experiences. For some, it can feel wonderful and magical. For others, it can feel stressful and overwhelming. And for many of us, it can be all of the above. There is so much that takes place in a short amount of time. Between activities, expectations, family, traditions, responsibilities, and the emotions that come with the season, it can be easy to feel pulled in many different directions.Instead of judging ourselves for how we experience the holidays, awareness gives us the opportunity to recognize what is actually happening and respond more intentionally.Managing ExpectationsOur expectations can have a significant impact on how we experience the holidays. We may have ideas about how things should go, how other people should behave, or how we are supposed to feel during the season. When reality doesn’t match those expectations, we can create unnecessary stress, disappointment, or frustration for ourselves. The holidays are what we make of them. Becoming aware of the expectations we are carrying allows us to decide what is actually serving us and what we may need to release or adjust.Anticipating Stress and TriggersThe holidays can bring us into situations that trigger us or bring up patterns we may already be familiar with. Family dynamics, traditions, social expectations, and the sheer amount of activity can all contribute to feeling overwhelmed.Rather than waiting until we are already stressed or reactive, we can anticipate the situations that may be challenging for us.Awareness allows us to get ahead of those challenges, have our own back, and make choices that support the experience we want to create.Managing Temptations and Coping PatternsThe holiday season can also make it easier to fall into patterns that don’t necessarily serve us. When we feel stressed, overwhelmed, or emotionally activated, we may look for ways to numb, avoid, or cope rather than addressing what is really happening. The goal isn’t to judge ourselves for these patterns. It’s to become aware of them so we can make more conscious choices. When we recognize what triggers us and how we tend to respond, we have more power to choose a different way of navigating the experience.Navigating Family DynamicsFamily can be one of the most meaningful parts of the holidays—and it can also be one of the more challenging aspects. Being around family can bring up old dynamics, expectations, emotions, and patterns. The key is to recognize that we have a role in how we participate in these dynamics. We can become more intentional about what we engage with, how we respond, and what we want to create.Rather than giving our power away to other people’s behavior or expectations, we can focus on what is within our control and have our own back.Creating the Holiday Experience You WantThe holidays don’t have to simply happen to us. We can be intentional and proactive about what we create. When we become aware of what is stressing us, what we are expecting, what triggers us, and what isn’t serving us, we can make different choices. This allows us to create more space for joy, connection, meaningful traditions, and the experiences we actually want to have.We can create a smoother end-of-year, magical holidays, and an exciting new year when we take responsibility for our experience and intentionally participate in creating it.Listen to the episode to explore how you can manage expectations, temptations, and family dynamics so you can have your own back and create a more enjoyable, joyful, and magical Holiday Season.Hope this information serves you and helps you get on the path to your Successful Relationship.MENTIONED INSIDE AND MOREEnd-of-Year & New-Year Planning (ENP) ProcessNumbing for coping with stress especially during the holidaysHolidays thoughts stressing you out?Having a letting go practice for lightness and joyUplevel your holidays with enriching traditionsWhat would you like to have more of in the New Year?Blast the winter blues with more loveAre you achieving your relationship goals?1-Pg Downloadables:Relationship Collaboration System Watch our related videos on our: Youtube channelRELATED VIDEOSPlan for a NEW BEGINNING and for a LIFETIME of LOVE | DEC Theme: PLANBeat the WINTER BLUES | When NOT Feeling Like YourselfPLAYLIST: Successful Relationship with Emma PodcastDISCLAIMER: This content is meant to support your Journey and not as a replacement for professional assistance. About Men: Don't Let Anger Issues and Toxicity Affect Your Holidays w/ Richard Heller (Ep.5)
Do your holiday plans and activities get derailed? Have you ever wondered about the impact of the feminist movement on the romantic relationship and on men? I have, a lot, as a part of the work I do with couples. Because we not only have all the emotional and psychological aspects at play in our relationship dynamics, but we have all sorts of other influences affecting how we get along. And gender and our own individual energies play a huge role in how we experience the relationship and each other, and what kind of relationship we are able to create at the end of the day.The key is always to bring awareness to all we do and to all our contexts. This is especially important in the relationship with our life Partner. Bringing more awareness and higher levels of consciousness to our interactions helps us more easily understand each other and connect more deeply. It allows us to transcend the social constructions and other minutia of life and revel in our love. It allows us to create a more joyous, harmonious, and loving relationship. In this episode, I’m joined by Richard Heller, and we discuss the male / masculine experience in relationship and what this means for men, for women / the feminine, and for the relationship as a whole. We explore what men need in relationships, what they contribute, and how partners can collaborate for mutual satisfaction and create a successful relationship. We tried our best to be as inclusive as possible in our conversation and ask that you tailor the pronouns and other relevant gender aspects to fit your situation and relationship constitution. The intention is to address and help navigate the differences between partners and not necessarily the social constructs around gender. In today’s episode, I cover:The male / masculine experience in relationshipsHow gender and individual energies can influence relationship dynamicsWhat men / the masculine may need in relationshipsWhat men / the masculine contribute to a relationshipHow partners can better understand and collaborate with each otherHow awareness and consciousness can help couples connect more deeplyHow to navigate differences between partners without getting stuck in social constructsYou’ll walk away with a greater awareness of how gender, masculine and feminine energies, and our individual experiences can influence the way we relate to one another—and how bringing more consciousness to these differences can create greater understanding, connection, and harmony.Understanding the Male / Masculine ExperienceEvery person brings their own experiences, expectations, needs, and ways of relating into a relationship. Gender and our individual energies can also influence how we experience ourselves, our partner, and the relationship.Rather than assuming that one way of relating is right, bringing awareness to these differences can help partners understand each other more deeply. When we become curious about the male / masculine experience instead of judging or making assumptions, we create more room for connection and collaboration. What Men / the Masculine Need in RelationshipUnderstanding what our partner needs is an important part of creating a successful relationship. Men may have needs and experiences that are not always understood or expressed clearly within the relationship. When those needs aren’t recognized, partners can become frustrated, disconnected, or caught in repetitive patterns.Creating space for men to express what they need—and for their partners to genuinely listen and understand—can create greater safety, connection, and mutual satisfaction. What Men / the Masculine ContributeMen and the masculine can bring unique qualities and contributions into a relationship. Recognizing and appreciating those contributions allows partners to move away from comparison and toward complementarity. The goal isn’t to create rigid roles or reinforce social constructions. It’s to understand what each person naturally brings and how those differences can support the relationship. When partners recognize and value what each contributes, they can begin to work together more intentionally. The Impact of Gender and Social ConstructsOur relationships don’t exist in a vacuum. We bring cultural expectations, social conditioning, personal experiences, and beliefs about gender into the way we relate to each other. These influences can shape our expectations of what men, women, partners, and relationships are supposed to look like.Bringing awareness to these influences allows us to question what actually works for our relationship rather than automatically following inherited expectations. The intention isn’t to get caught up in social constructs around gender, but to understand the differences between partners and create a relationship that works for the two people actually in it.Creating More Understanding and ConnectionThe key is always to bring awareness to what we do and to the contexts influencing us. This is especially important with our life partner. When we bring higher levels of consciousness to our interactions, we can more easily understand each other and connect more deeply.Instead of allowing differences to create distance, we can become curious about them and use them as opportunities to understand each other better. This gives us the opportunity to transcend the social constructions and other minutia of life and revel in our love.Collaborating for a Successful RelationshipA successful relationship isn’t about eliminating differences. It’s about learning how to navigate them together. When partners understand what each person needs, appreciate what each contributes, and communicate with greater awareness, they can create a relationship that is more collaborative, harmonious, and mutually satisfying. The goal is to create a partnership where both people can show up authentically while also making room for the other person to do the same.Awareness gives us the opportunity to move beyond assumptions, understand each other more deeply, and intentionally create the relationship we want.Listen to the episode with Richard to explore the male / masculine experience in relationships and discover how greater awareness can help you understand, connect, and collaborate with your partner more deeply. Simple, Sexy and Super Generous Money Management w/ Christine Luken (Ep.4)
Whoever said that budgeting, crunching numbers, and money management is dry and boring? Finances and money management can be a source of conflict in many relationships. Partners bring their own backgrounds, experiences, and habits to their relationship when it comes to finances, and they each have their own relationship with money.Top this with their own programming around abundance, worth, value, and so on, and their relationship dynamics can make things even more complicated. And not for nothing, money is a hot topic for many couples.Usually, one of the partners is savvier or more interested in crunching the numbers, tracking the money, and managing the finances. This can leave the other at odds with the whole process and money matters. It may not be their strength, and they may find the whole thing tedious, which frustrates their partner even more.In this episode, I’m joined by Christine Luken, and we discuss how money is emotional, how our unconscious programming plays a role in our money management, and how partners can create a money management system that is mutually satisfying and actually fun and sexy. We also explore the importance of being generous for creating more abundance and for its own sake.In today’s episode, I cover:Why money and money management can become a source of conflict in relationshipsHow our backgrounds, experiences, habits, and programming shape our relationship with moneyWhy money is emotionalHow unconscious programming around abundance, worth, and value affects our financesHow partners can create a money management system that works for both of themHow generosity can create more abundance in our lives and relationshipsYou’ll walk away with a different perspective on money management and practical ways to make finances a more satisfying, collaborative, and even fun part of your relationship.Money Is EmotionalMoney isn’t simply about numbers. Our relationship with money is influenced by our experiences, beliefs, habits, and programming around abundance, worth, and value.Partners can come into a relationship with very different ideas about spending, saving, earning, giving, and managing money. What feels completely normal to one person may feel uncomfortable or even irresponsible to the other. When we understand that money is emotional, we can begin to have more meaningful conversations about what is really happening underneath the numbers. Our Unconscious Programming Around MoneyThe way we manage money is often connected to what we learned growing up and the experiences we’ve had throughout our lives. These beliefs can influence how we make financial decisions and how we respond to our partner around money. One partner may associate money with security, while another may associate it with freedom or enjoyment. One may naturally want to track every dollar, while the other may prefer not to think about the details at all.Becoming aware of this programming gives us an opportunity to understand ourselves and our partner rather than simply judging the differences.Creating a Money Management System TogetherUsually, one partner is more interested in the numbers, tracking the money, and managing the finances. This can create frustration when the other partner doesn’t share the same interest or finds the process tedious. The goal isn’t necessarily for both partners to manage money in exactly the same way. It’s about creating a system that works for both people and allows each partner to contribute in a way that feels aligned with their strengths and needs. When couples collaborate around money instead of fighting about it, finances can become another area where they strengthen their partnership.Making Money Management Fun and SexyMoney management doesn’t have to be dry or boring. When couples approach finances as something they are creating together, it can become an opportunity for connection, collaboration, and shared vision.Instead of allowing money conversations to create distance, partners can create a system that feels mutually satisfying and supports the life they want to build together. The way we manage money can become part of the larger relationship we are intentionally creating. The Power of GenerosityGenerosity is another important part of creating abundance. Giving can shift our relationship with money and remind us that abundance isn’t only about what we accumulate or hold onto. When we cultivate generosity, we create opportunities to experience abundance for ourselves and contribute to others. It becomes a mindset that can support us not only during the holidays but throughout our lives.Money is about so much more than numbers. It can be an opportunity to understand ourselves, connect with our partner, create a shared vision, and build a life that feels abundant and meaningful.Listen to the episode with Christine to explore your relationship with money and discover how you and your partner can create a money management system that feels simple, satisfying, and even sexy. Use Your Strengths to Have a Huge Impact on Your Relationship w/ Nermine Zakhary (Ep.2)
Did you know that our strengths can have a huge positive impact in our relationship, as well as a negative impact? Yep. We can influence, create change, and spearhead transformation in our relationship with our strengths. But if we are not intentional about how we use them, they can also be misused and be detrimental to our relationship. It all starts with having awareness of our strengths, owning them, and understanding how to use them. For then we can capitalize on what they offer, making our interactions smoother and more meaningful. When we intentionally operate from our strengths, we radiate, entice, and invite others to a wonderful dance with us. We have an impact in the moment, on our partner’s experience, and on their heart. In this special episode, I’m joined by Nermine Zakhary, who shares how to discover and use our strengths. We explore how our strengths influence our relationships and how intentionally using them can help us create more meaningful connection and collaboration. We also explore my own strengths to illustrate the power of understanding what we naturally bring to the relationship, and how we can use those strengths intentionally. In today's episode, I cover:Why our strengths can have both a positive and negative impact on our relationshipsThe importance of awareness, ownership, and intentional use of our strengthsThe 4 domains of strengths and what each one contributesHow our strengths can complement our partner’s strengthsHow to use our strengths to create a more meaningful and successful relationshipYou’ll walk away with a greater understanding of your own strengths, how they may show up in your relationship, and how you can begin using them in a way that supports both you and your partner.Understanding Your Strengths1. Strategic Thinking StrengthsStrategic Thinking strengths help us see possibilities, create direction, gather information, and explore ideas and meaning. They allow us to look beyond what is immediately in front of us and imagine what could be possible. In a Relationship – These strengths can help partners create a shared vision, explore possibilities, understand the bigger picture, and bring new ideas into the relationship. When Misused – Without awareness, these strengths can become overwhelming for a partner who needs more practical direction. Too many possibilities, ideas, or high-level conversations can make it difficult to move into action.2. Executing StrengthsExecuting strengths bring ideas into concrete reality. They focus on details, goals, processes, systems, and practical action. In a Relationship – These strengths can create structure, reliability, organization, and forward movement. They can help couples turn their shared ideas and goals into something tangible. When Misused – A strong focus on details, rules, systems, or getting things done can sometimes leave little room for flexibility, exploration, or emotional connection.3. Influencing StrengthsInfluencing strengths help us convince, ignite, enroll, and energize others. They can bring enthusiasm, momentum, and energy into our relationships. In a Relationship – These strengths can help partners communicate passionately, rally around a shared cause, create excitement, and inspire one another. When Misused – Without intention, influencing can become pushing, persuading, or dominating the conversation rather than creating genuine collaboration.4. Relationship-Building StrengthsRelationship-Building strengths help us connect, invite, listen, and accept. They create space for authentic relationships, encouragement, and non-judgment.In a Relationship – These strengths can create emotional safety, connection, understanding, and acceptance. They help partners feel heard, valued, and supported. When Misused – Focusing too heavily on maintaining harmony can sometimes mean avoiding difficult conversations or neglecting your own needs in order to keep the relationship comfortable.Using Your Strengths IntentionallyOur strengths are powerful, but simply having a strength doesn’t automatically mean we are using it well. Awareness is the first step. Ownership allows us to recognize what we naturally bring, and intention allows us to choose how we use it.When we understand our own strengths and appreciate the strengths of our partner, we can stop expecting each other to operate in exactly the same way. Instead, we can begin to recognize how our differences can complement one another. Our strengths can influence our mindset, communication, interactions, connection, and collaboration. When we use them intentionally, they become powerful resources for creating a more aligned and meaningful relationship. The goal isn’t to change who you are or become good at everything. It’s to understand what you naturally bring, recognize where it can be helpful, notice where it may be getting in the way, and learn how to use it in a way that supports both you and your partner. When we intentionally operate from our strengths, we radiate, entice, and invite our partners into a wonderful dance with us. Now’s the time to discover them, cultivate them, and use them intentionally to create the relationship you want.Hope this information serves you and helps you get on the path to your Successful Relationship and Meaningful Life.MENTIONED INSIDE AND MOREGallup CliftonStrengths Assessment1-Pg Downloadables:Relationship Collaboration System Watch our related videos on our: Youtube channelABOUT OUR GUESTNermine Zakhary is a Certified People Acuity Coach™ & Positive Intelligence & Metal Fitness Coach, specializing in the application of strengths to accelerate performance, energy, relationships, and results and handling life’s challenges with a positive mindset. The Secret Ingredients for a Successful Relationship w/ Carole Cullen (Ep.1)
Who says being in a committed relationship has to be hard?Relationships can certainly be challenging, but they don’t have to feel impossible when we’re intentional about how we create and nurture our relationship. There are key ingredients that help make a relationship gratifying, connected, and successful. Research on successful couples shows us that certain patterns and behaviors contribute to healthy relationships—and the opposite patterns can be strong predictors of relationship breakdown.Committed relationships and marriage are special, delicate, and incredibly important to our overall wellbeing. They also play an important role in the stability of the family and have a powerful influence on our children. After more than 20 years of working with couples and helping them create successful relationships, I finally embraced a longtime dream of hosting a relationship podcast—and I’m so excited to launch it!For this very first episode, I interview my longtime friend and colleague, Carole Cullen, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. Together, we explore some of the key ingredients that can help couples create a successful and lasting relationship. In today's episode, I cover:Emotional IntimacyCommunicationQuality TimeShared Goals & ValuesThese four ingredients can help couples become more intentional about how they connect, communicate, and build their life together. The Secret Ingredients for a Successful Relationship1. Emotional IntimacyEmotional intimacy is an important foundation for a strong relationship. It’s about being able to share your inner world with your partner, feel understood, and create a sense of emotional safety and connection. When couples cultivate emotional intimacy, they have a stronger foundation for navigating challenges and maintaining closeness over time.2. CommunicationHealthy communication is essential to a successful relationship. It’s not simply about talking more. It’s about learning how to express yourself, listen to your partner, understand each other’s experiences, and work through differences in a constructive way.The way couples communicate can have a significant impact on how connected and supported they feel.3. Quality TimeBeing physically together isn’t necessarily the same as being emotionally connected.Quality time gives couples an opportunity to slow down, reconnect, enjoy one another, and intentionally nurture their relationship.Making space for meaningful time together can help couples maintain connection even when life gets busy.4. Shared Goals & ValuesA strong relationship also involves creating a shared vision for the life you want to build together.Shared goals and values help couples get on the same page about what matters to them, where they’re going, and how they want to work together as partners. When couples are intentional about their shared direction, they can create a stronger sense of teamwork and partnership. The goal isn’t perfection. It’s becoming more intentional about the relationship you’re creating together.I hope this information serves you and helps you get on the path to your Successful Relationship.MENTIONED INSIDE AND MOREJohn Gottman’s WorkGottman’s Card Deck1-Pg Downloadables:Relationship Collaboration SystemWatch our related videos on our: Youtube channelABOUT OUR GUESTCarole Cullen is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, AAMFT Clinical Supervisor and public speaker.
