പ്രസിദ്ധ നാടകകൃത്തും എഴുത്തുകാരനുമായ സി ജെ തോമസിൻ്റെ (1918-1960) ചരമദിനമാണ് ഇന്ന്. സി ജെയുടെ ധിക്കാരിയുടെ കാതൽ എന്ന കൃതിയിലെ 'കലയും ബഹുജനവും'  എന്ന ലേഖനം ഇവിടെ വായിക്കുന്നു. He has been working with popular (commercial) and amateur theatre groups in kerala and abroad from 1967 onwards. His perspective oriented and portable scenic designs are the combination of fine arts, architecture, light, technology and performing bodies. Contemporary theatre artist Kannanunni shares his thoughts on theatre and its aesthetics, performance making process and struggles in his creative process. Kannanunni started his theatre practices with Trivandrum based theatre called Abhinaya, then Thrissur School of Drama and New Delhi National School of Drama. He also worked nationally and internationally. Kannan along with friends started a theatre group in Trivandrum called ‘Elephant Theatre Society’ in 2017. Kannanunni’s collaborators and actors Aravind TM and Athul Vijayakumar are also joining in this podcast. In this performative episode, eminent theatre activist, academic, director and actor Ramachandran Mokeri shares his radical thoughts on theatre and society. As an activist in theatre, Mokeri has been working with indigenous people, untouchables , prisoners and marginalised people for their civil rights. Mokeri performed and published numerous works like Thendi koothu , St. Mockery etc... Through his diverse activities in theatre, performance and film, he has been questioning the conventional aesthetics and institutional practices.
