The Messengers

Love sharing the gospel and seeing others come to Christ. We are a husband and wife team that write, study and learn from the Bible.

  1. 196

    Know Your Worth

Do you know you are precious to God? You may not feel like it, but He sees you as special and worthy. We must know how important we are to Him. We are worthy of all He has for us, not because of what we have done, but just because He loves us.

  2. 195

The Stripes of Jesus and the Blood of Jesus

The Stripes of Jesus and the Blood of Jesus is a powerful teaching that highlights the two sides of Christ’s sacrifice. His stripes purchased our healing, and His blood purchased our forgiveness. Through His suffering, Jesus carried our sickness, broke the power of sin, and restored us to wholeness. This message reminds us that Jesus didn’t just save our souls—He heals, redeems, and transforms every part of our lives. Let this teaching strengthen your faith and deepen your understanding of what Jesus accomplished for you.

  3. 194

    The Truth Doesn't Die

Are you confused about the truth? There is so much misinformation about God today. The truth is that He loves us all and wants to be part of our lives. Each of us is very precious to Him. Since the beginning, the enemy has tried to hide the truth about God. But the enemy is, and always has been, a liar. Tricia shares some important truths in this episode. Please reach out if you have any questions about this teaching.

  4. 193

The Book of James: Faith in Action

Have you ever wanted more wisdom on being a Christian?  You will find many answers in the book of James.  He was the half-brother of Jesus and one of the main leaders in the church at that time. He writes powerful lessons for us to learn even today.  Study and meditation on this book will lead you into newfound respect and love for yourself and others.  Marcus and Tricia enjoy taking you through the small, but impactful, book of James.

  5. 192

    Lost or Trusted

Do you feel you aren’t worthy enough for Jesus to care about you? In the parable of Jesus leaving the 99 sheep to go after the lost one, it seems Jesus didn’t care about the other 99. This is not true. Jesus loves them so much He trusts them to stay in the green pastures where He left them. Do you consider yourself one of the 99, or the special sheep Jesus is looking for right now? Marcus and Tricia unveil truths about who we are to Jesus and how He sees everyone.

  6. 191

    Winning Hearts, Not Arguments

Too many people think witnessing means shouting louder than the next person… but Jesus showed us a better way. He didn’t win souls with anger or condemnation — He won them with truth spoken in love. In this powerful new teaching, we’ll show you how to share your faith the way Jesus did — with grace, patience, and compassion. Learn how to start real conversations, plant seeds of hope, and reflect God’s love without ever raising your voice. ✨ Because the goal isn’t to win debates… it’s to win hearts for Christ. 🎧 Listen now to “Winning Hearts, Not Arguments” — available wherever you listen to The Messengers audio teachings.

  8. 189

    Growing up in Christ

In this devotion, Marcus unpacks Paul’s words from 1 Corinthians 3:1–9, where the apostle challenges the church in Corinth for acting like spiritual infants. Instead of growing in Christ, they were splitting into camps, following their favorite leaders, and missing the point. Marcus reminds us that Paul planted, Apollos watered—but only God makes anything grow. True maturity comes when we stop idolizing personalities and start centering our lives on Jesus. It’s not about cliques, pride, or spiritual favoritism—it’s about building on the right foundation.

  9. 188

    Joyful, Patient, and Faithful

Life can throw storms our way, but Romans 12:12 gives us God’s recipe: be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, and faithful in prayer. Joy is more than a feeling—it’s a confident expectation in God’s promises. Patience reminds us that Jesus is still on the throne, no matter the trial. Faithful prayer keeps us grounded, lifting our needs and the needs of others before the Lord. When we live this way, we discover peace and strength that the world can’t take away.

    Audio Devotion - No Fear

Welcome to today’s audio devotion from The Messengers. We all know fear—how it creeps in when the night feels too quiet or the day feels too overwhelming. But God never called us to live in fear. He gave us His power, His love, and His peace. In this devotion, titled ‘No Fear’, we’ll discover how to stand firm in faith and silence the lies of fear with the truth of God’s Word. So take a deep breath, open your heart, and let’s step into His presence together.

  12. 185

The Peace That Holds You Together

🌊 Life has storms. Peace has an Anchor. In a world that steals sleep, drains joy, and fills your mind with “what ifs,” Jesus offers something stronger than calm waters—He offers His peace. 💬 “Peace I leave with you; My peace I give you…” – John 14:27 This isn’t fragile peace that depends on good news or easy days. It’s a fierce, unshakable peace that stands guard over your heart and mind, even in the middle of the storm. ✅ Anchor your mind in God’s truth. ✅ Pray about everything, worry about nothing. ✅ Let His peace fight for you. You can’t control the storm, but you can choose your anchor—and His name is Jesus. 🙏 Prayer: “Lord, let Your peace guard my heart today.”

  13. 184

    Jesus is our Cure

In this powerful and encouraging devotion, Marcus remind us that Jesus didn’t just carry our sins, He bore our sickness too. Through 1 Peter 2:24, we’re invited to believe in God's promise of healing, whether it comes instantly or through a process. This message is a faith-filled reminder that we can turn to Jesus first in every trial and trust in His perfect timing. No matter the diagnosis, Jesus is our cure.

  14. 183

    Wait

Sometimes the hardest command from God is the simplest one: "Wait." But what if waiting isn't a punishment... but preparation? In this powerful devotion, special guest Jake Griggs joins The Messengers to dive into what it means to trust God's timing, even when you're ready to draw the bow and fire. Listen now and be encouraged as we learn to wait with purpose, faith, and fire. Contact Jake Griggs [email protected]

I am a Child of God - Audio Devotion

Do you realize God knew you before the creation of the world? God loves us so much He lovingly formed us in our mother's womb. The Bible says we are called children of God when we accept Jesus as our Savior. God loves us either way, but there are special benefits to being a child of God, with eternal life being only the beginning. Marcus brings an audio devotional about being a child of the Most High God.

  19. 178

    I have Freedom in Jesus

Do you feel bound up in chains in some areas of your life? Jesus came to bring us freedom. During this time of year in America, we celebrate our freedom as a country. We appreciate all our military people who have fought for our freedom for hundreds of years. Jesus gave us freedom for thousands! When we give every part of our lives over to Him, we will walk in a freeing way. Marcus brings an audio devotional reminding us the freedom we have in Jesu

  20. 177

    Incomprehensible Peace (Audio Devotion)

Would you enjoy a kind of peace that goes beyond anything you can even imagine? Think of the most peaceful scenario and then multiply it infinitely. That is the kind of peace God longs to give you. Philippians 4:6 shows us how to give up our worries, and verse seven gives us an incredible promise of peace when we go to God for everything. Tricia brings you a devotional you don't want to miss. God bless you!

  21. 176

Audio Devotion: I Have Boldness Through Christ

Do you hope to have more courage in your life? Hoping in God gives a joyful trust we can have what we need. One area we all should be strong in is boldness. Jesus sent His disciples out boldly so they could proclaim the good news of Who He was. As believers, we are to be bold, too. Not in our own strength, but in God's. When we put our hope in Him, we can walk boldly and do His will. Marcus brings good news about these truths.

  22. 175

    Grace Audio Teaching

Do you ever feel God is upset with you? He does not get angry when we make mistakes. We all do that! He would have to be upset with everyone all the time! God gives us His wonderful grace. When we start having problems, our weaknesses can burst out for everyone to see. The good news is God’s grace is always there for us. Marcus and Tricia invite you to join them as they look deeper into these truths. Please bear with them through the audio problems. Thanks!

  23. 174

Audio Devotion - I am the Creation of God's Hands

Do you ever wonder how God sees you? He doesn't get mad when you make a mistake. He isn't frustrated or upset because you don't do everything perfectly. When you make Jesus the Savior of your life, God sees Jesus when He sees you. You are perfect to God, not because of what you do, but just because He loves you. Marcus shares more about how we are all crated lovingly by God.

  24. 173

    I Am Loved Audio Devotional

Do wonder if you are loved? We may not feel love from people around us, but we are completely loved by God. There is nothing we can ever do to stop His love for us. We can never love Him as much as He loves us, but He doesn't expect us to do that. He simply wants to be loved by us with all our hearts. Tricia's devotion speaks of the love God has for us. Enjoy!

  25. 172

    Audio Devotion - Deliver Us

Have you ever wondered why people end their prayers with amen? One of the definitions is, “Let it be.” When ending our prayers, as we see in this verse, we should praise God, not because He needs it, but because we do. When we ask for something, we should praise God to remind us of Who He is and then put our faith in agreement and say, “Amen.” This is certainly not the only way to pray, because prayer is just talking to God wherever you are. This whole prayer was simply an example Jesus was teaching the people. Marcus shares this devotional on why we end prayers in this way.

  26. 171

    AudioDevotion-We All Forgive

Do you know people who will not forgive no matter what happens? Jesus mentioned we need to forgive our debts, which can be sin. This is not just forgiveness from Him. We need to forgive others who have wronged us, too. Jesus so freely died for our sins, and forgave us, because He loves us so much. We are commanded to love others, even if they are still unkind to us. Tricia’s devotional is about having our debt of sin cancelled and releasing our grip on others.

  27. 170

    Great Potential

Have you ever felt you have no purpose in life? So you feel you are aimlessly wandering about? There is good news. Everyone has a purpose with God. He knew you before the world began, and He placed special gifts and talents into each one of us. You are unique in every way. When yo are walking with God, you can live up to your potential He created for just you. Marcus and Tricia want to tell you the good news of how special you are to God.

  28. 169

    Honoring God with Our Prayers

Have you ever wondered why Jesus gave the example of how to start a prayer? He wanted the people to know the importance of beginning with giving honor to God. God is holy and we must not be disrespectful with coming with requests. This was a guideline Jesus was giving the people, because they didn't know how to pray. Keep in mind, this was before Jesus' death. Now we have a personal relationship with God and can speak more freely. It is important to know there is no wrong way to pray from your heart. Marcus shares this devotional about the importance of starting off the respectful way when coming to God.

  29. 168

Audio Devotion - God's Will Be Done

Do you ever feel like you want, what you want, when you want it? We all want things to go our way, but that may not be God's will for our lives. As hard as it may be, God's will is far better for us than we can imagine. We need to invite Him in to work in our lives. Marcus explains further in this encouraging devotional.

  30. 167

How does your fruit look? Is it abundant and full, or small and falling to the ground? Our great friend, Jake, is going to speak about how to bear, not just good fruit, but ABUNDANT fruit. 33. 164

    Gratitude

What have you been thankful for lately? Some of us may be walking through trials. It may be easy to get upset and not appreciate what we have. We can get focused on what we are lacking, and forget to be grateful for all God has done in our lives. Even the air we breathe is a miracle. When we start thanking God for things, we become people full of gratitude. Please share some of the reasons or miracles you are grateful for in your life, either in the past or present. Email us at [email protected]. We look forward to hearing from you.

  34. 163

    God's Faith Resides in Me

What do you have faith in? Some people trust in their finances, jobs, or securities they think they have, but can be lost quickly. We need to put our faith in God. He is the only One who can help us in our times of trouble. We should have faith that He loves us and only wants the best for us. When we trust in Him, we will be blessed, even when we go through hard trials. God never leaves us alone. Marcus describes more about faith in this audio devotion.

  35. 162

    Everyday Nutrition

Are you hungry, but can't seem to feel satisfied? God is the only One who can really help us get the nourishment we need. Feeding on Him and His Word daily will give us all the nutrition required to fill us. We shouldn't be Spiritually anemic. We can gorge ourselves on God and be filled continually. Tricia speaks about this concept in today's devotional. Enjoy!

  36. 161

    Eagerly Awaiting

If you are expecting something good, do you wait for it eagerly? We get excited when we know we are going to get a good thing. Whether it is a package in the mail, a visit from a loved one, or anything else that will lift our spirits, we can joyfully wait. Since we know Jesus is coming back sometime, we should eagerly wait for the time He comes. Marcus gives deeper insight into this truth. Enjoy!

  37. 160

    Audio Devotion - Asking God

Do you ever feel like you want to do something for God, but you are not sure where to start? Asking God what we need to do is always helpful. In the Bible, Jesus gives us an example of ways to help others. Marcus goes through scripture to show where we can begin to do the work God asks of us..

  38. 159

A Quick Study of James 4

James Chapter 4 addresses issues of worldliness, pride, and submission to God. It begins by discussing the source of conflicts and quarrels among people, attributing them to selfish desires and covetousness. James warns that asking God with wrong motives will not lead to answered prayers. Follow Along in your bible with Marcus as he walks you through his favorite chapter of the Book of James.

  39. 158

  41. 156

    Don't Look Back

Have you ever heard someone just boast about the things they have done? They may not acknowledge that it was truly God who helped give them those achievements. People can also look back at things they have lost and put more importance on them than God. We all need to look to God and ask for His help. When He does, we must give Him all the credit and honor for all we have. We can look forward to an amazing future when we trust in God. Marcus and Tricia invite you to join all the fun with personal examples and stories from the Bible. God bless you!

  42. 155

    Running from God

It’s easy to look at the people in the Bible and judge them for doing the wrong things. We must remember, they were people, just like us. They may not have started out sinning against God, but ended up that way from not listening to what He asked them to do. We need to look deep in our hearts, because there are times we miss the mark, too. We may start out doing something for God but end up way off the path He wants us to be traveling. When we truly examine our lives, we may be surprised at what we find. Marcus and Tricia ask you to join in the conversation about how little steps can lead to big problems. BTW, it’s Burger King, not McDonalds.

  43. 154

    Trials aren't Difficult with God

Does it seem like everything is coming against you all at once?  Sometimes we go through hard trials, but we don’t have to go through them alone.  We cannot do anything right without God’s help.  We can try to force our way through, but it will be painstaking and harder than it needs to be.  Marcus and Tricia invite you to listen and learn from their years of experience.

  44. 153

    Unfathomable Love

Have you ever felt unloved? People can let us down, but God never will. He LOVES us more than we can even imagine. There are no words that can precisely describe how God feels about us. We may have had a bad experience with someone in our past, but God will always love us. In fact, there is nothing we can do to stop or intensify His love for us. Join Marcus and Tricia as they read words from God straight to you. Enjoy the fun!

  45. 152

    Being Still Requires Forgiveness

Do you find it hard to hear God’s voice? We must be able to get still in His presence to really understand what He is saying. Being still doesn’t just mean no physical movement. It is something that we must be able to do with our Spirits. Marcus and Tricia give some tips on how to be still with God. With funny personal examples and lessons, they invite you to have fun as you learn with them.

  46. 151

    We Are All Chosen

Did you know that you were chosen by God? Many don't know what that means but He has chosen each of us to have a close relationship with Him. Today, Marcus and Tricia talk about some scriptures that show how God chose people to do amazing things. We hope that you enjoy this episode of The Messengers.

    Our Works or God's?

Do you ever feel worn out when doing something for God? If so, you might want to seek Him on what you should be doing.  Sometimes God has us do a certain act for a season in our lives. We must realize this and not force ourselves to do what we think is God’s will. Join Marcus and Tricia as they help you better understand this topic. The Letter or Spirit

Do you ever feel you have to go to God because someone else said you must? That is not what God desires at all. He wants you to choose to have a relationship with Him. The letter of the law says you must do something only in a certain way. The spirit of the law is the reason behind why you are doing the acts. Someone may try to force you to offer something to God. He would rather have a little with a pure heart, than a lot begrudgingly. Marcus and Tricia ask you to join the fun as this topic becomes clearer.

  50. 147

    The Other Side

It is exciting to hear a word from God. Sometimes, though, we don’t stop to listen to everything He is saying. We may take a small part and try to force things to go our way. We mistakenly believe we have it under control when we are supposed to put God in control. Come listen to how Elizabeth learned this lesson the hard way. Enjoy!
