Ep. 6: Community is Trending + I Have Thoughts...

Nine to Kind's Admin Night is officially here! Before we get into what it actually is...we need to chat about the "trend of community. Brands are selling it, events are everywhere, and if you felt a little skeptical about all of it I totally get it.That skepticism is why I almost did not do this and what it took to get me to move forward. We get into what paying to be in a room with people actually gives you, why adult friendship feels so overwhelming, and how lower intimacy relationships are more valuable than we give them credit for.Admin Night was built for the chronically responsible person who needs a space to show up without being the one holding everything together. We are talking emails, taxes, adulting tasks, good drinks, real conversation, and zero pressure to perform. The formula is simple. Novelty plus community plus accountability plus nourishment. This episode walks through how that came together, why the serendipity of the right people in a room cannot be manufactured, and what incorporated self care actually looks like on a random Tuesday night.// // // // //Register for June's Admin Night HEREConnect with Nine to Kind + LaurenShop Nine to KindFollow Lauren on IGFollow Nine to Kind on IG Get full access to Nine to Kind at ninetokind.substack.com/subscribe

Ep. 5: Can Pessimism Be a Form of Self Compassion?

Our society loves us some toxic positivity doesn’t it?! Because of our culture that thrives on weaponizing gratitude and demean “negativity” we are often not taught how to sit with feelings like pessimism.People often find it odd of just how pessimistic I can be, especially as someone who instills hope in others for a living. The thing is...pessimism can truly be a guide if we learn how to be in a healthy relationship with it.This week's episode gets into how we are bypassing important information and feelings all in the sake of "good vibes only" and how possibility can be exactly what turns our relationship with pessimism into a healthy one.// // //Connect with Nine to Kind + Lauren:Nashville! Ep. 3: The Sacrificial Shift Into Genuine Burnout Prevention

Week by week I am realizing that Nine to Kind is about something bigger than scheduled self care. Building a "Nine to Kind" is deconstructing hustle culture by reshaping the role of work, hobbies, and sustainability in my life. This transition into embodiment has highlighted how deep chronic responsibility can go. Chronic Responsibility and Productivity Guilt have snuck their way back in through the push to monetize interests and shapeshifting hobbies into to a more palatable form of burnout. In the spirit of intention, I had to make structural and financial sacrifices. We dig into reflections around the reclaiming of time, reducing guilt driven overcommitment and how to incorporate autonomy building rituals into existing routines.Mentioned in this episode:Alexa Martinez: @alexacoaches on IG // Alexa's WebsiteHow we can connect:Nine to Kind on SubstackLauren Ruth Martin on IGNine to Kind on IGShop Nine to Kind Get full access to Nine to Kind at ninetokind.substack.com/subscribe

Ep.2: "Artisan" Marketing + Finding My Own Path

Theme of the Episode: Rebuilding Nine to Kind with Artisan, Values Aligned MarketingAfter a week of vulnerable updates, I share yet another vulnerable update on the brand rebuilding process. We discuss my broader move away from stressful social media centric marketing toward more values aligned, high touch “artisan” marketing that prioritizes connection, events, and community over transactions. The reality is that Nine to Kind was never meant to be just a productivity planner brand...but more so a practical, self compassion focused collective for chronically responsible helpers who want to slow down and release productivity guilt. The episode connects this vision to accommodations, neurodivergence, and choosing an approach that fits how you operate, even if it’s slower, riskier, or less efficient. What I referenced in the episode:Off the Grid by Amelia Hruby, PhD (Podcast + Substack)Sunday ForeverTimestamps:00:00 Welcome and Thanks00:46 Podcast Format Update03:54 Marketing Without Socials06:45 More Than a Planner08:41 Artisan Marketing Vision11:02 Brand Example Sunday Forever13:13 High Touch Marketing Tactics15:23 In Person Events Roadmap18:41 Accommodations and Neurodivergence22:13 Middle Path and Vulnerability Get full access to Nine to Kind at ninetokind.substack.com/subscribe

Building in Public: An Honest Return to Your Feed

Hi! I'm back to the Nine to Kind podcast after a break to share a life and business update. This wouldn't be without candor about the process of returning and a commitment to visibility in 2026. I give the behind the scenes peek into Nine to Kind's journey since 2023. One that has been humbling and perfectionism ridden triggering anxieties around money, debt, and self worth (despite it being part of the business building process). The past few months have included affirming experiences like an in person market, a speaking gig, and interest in coaching. These experiences helped me realize I don't need to quit but there is a need to accept a slower, aligned pace. I share my difficulty internalizing successes (“life dysmorphia”) and how this next iteration is an exposure to being truly seen. // // //Links from the episode:Nine to Kind on SubstackShop Nine to KindFind me on IG// // //Timeline:00:00 Welcome Back Update02:41 Nine To Kind History04:04 Q4 Pressure Spiral06:43 Wins And Momentum08:07 Quiet Season Reset09:24 Therapy Or Personal Brand12:26 Choosing My Way13:46 Life Dysmorphia19:03 Next 90 Day Focus19:55 Podcast And Planner Vision Get full access to Nine to Kind at ninetokind.substack.com/subscribe
