1 Thessalonians 1:1. Welcome to The Preached Word podcast. Join us today as we begin a new series on First Thessalonians, exploring its powerful and relevant message for a young church facing opposition, and showing how its truths continue to encourage steadfast faith in Jesus Christ amid trials. Join us as we examine the author, his audience, and the powerful apostolic greeting found in its very first verse.

Malachi 4:1–6. The advent of Jesus Christ, the Sun of righteousness, would be preceded by the coming of Elijah, a representative of the prophets. This confused the Jews of the first century, who looked for a literal return of Elijah the Tishbite, but Elijah came figuratively in the ministry of John the Baptist. Here we learn what his preparatory ministry was all about.

Malachi 3:13–18. As the Lord continues to prosecute his people, he asks them if they've ever profited from his service. We've all done this at one time, but we usually have a wrong idea of what "profit" means. But when we have the right idea of it, we find that the Lord profits us more than we can count!

Malachi 3:7–12. The Israelites had robbed the Lord of his tithes and offerings because they didn't appreciate how great he is. So, the Lord invited them once again to test and prove his generosity. Do we rob God today as they did? If so, let's learn a better way together.

Malachi 3:1–6. Malachi foretold the coming of John the Baptist and, even more importantly, the coming of Jesus, the Messenger of the Covenant. Look at verses 2 through 6 for a description of Jesus' ministry.

Malachi 2:10-17. Along with Ephesians 5, every Christian family should be intimately familiar with these verses from Malachi. They emphasize the holiness of the family and how God uses families to further his kingdom. Although divorce is sometimes necessary (and even preferable), we must be careful to pursue it only for Biblical reasons.

Malachi 2:1–9. The Lord rebuked the priests of Malachi's day, but he didn't destroy them because of his covenant. To learn what this covenant was and how it applies to us today, hear God's Word from the second chapter of this amazing prophecy.

Malachi 1:6–14. What is worship? What about our worship pleases him? Is it possible that some things also displease him? Let's see what Malachi wrote about the worship of the priests in his day. And let us also worship our priest, Jesus Christ, in spirit and in truth.

Malachi 1:1–5. What's the book of Malachi about? Join us as we explore this question in today's text. In this message, we'll introduce this prophet and his ministry.

3 John 12–14. Our final message on 3 John focuses on yet another individual, a man named Demetrius. Like Gaius in verses 1–8, he had a good report. Today, we see what we can learn from him.

3 John 9–11. Diotrephes, unlike Gaius, was a man who loved to have preeminence in the church. That is, he placed himself over not just the church but even the Lord himself. John tells us how to respond to men like this in the church.

3 John 1–8. Gaius, the recipient of this epistle, was a man filled with love for God and his people. The apostle John commends him to us as a worthy example of one who followed Jesus with his whole heart.

2 John 7–13. There's a lot of talk these days about THE Antichrist, but John said that there were already many of them in the world. In today's text, he tells us what to do with them.

2 John 4–6. What is truth? What is love? This message seeks to clarify these terms and apply them to each believer's walk.
