Rope flow mastery: a conversation with Edward Troise of ET Strength

Edward's website www.etstrength.com   Edward's instagram: https://www.instagram.com/edward.troise/ You know what's dope about the internet?   That you can reach out and have conversations with people who are doing good things.   I came across some of Edward's rope flow videos and went into the rabbit hole of his content. So of course, as I typically do, I asked him if he'd be down to come on the pod show.   We cover a number of things including his journey in fitness, in life, the benefits of rope flow, why it works, and more.   The world needs better conversations.  And this is one of them.   Sidenote: My side quest is to have as many jacked friends as possible. +1

Languages, abs, better learning, and more A conversation with David Murray

"wisdom comes from multiple perspectives" - @NicPeterson    The beautiful part of the internet is all the wonderful people you can connect with.   And thus, all the perspectives you get to come across.   David is an educator, publicly elected official, speaks multiple languages, and loves all things fitness and nutrition.   We cover a bunch of topics including  - how he learned French and Spanish in the last few years without apps like Duolingo  - how he went from being a skinny fat guy who didn't have any genetic advantage to being year round lean and strong - his experience and thoughts on learning and being a teacher  - and more  David's IG  https://www.instagram.com/davidhmurray/ Coaching, consultations, questions: www.linktr.ee/ranbirsanghera

Probably the best interview on being healthy, losing fat, and just living a good life ft Bobby Hoyt aka Millennial Money Man

One of my favorite humans and former client Bobby Hoyt aka Millennial Money Man joins me today.  It's been 3 years or so since we worked together and we catch up on some of the keys in being perpetually healthy, lean and strong. And what it actually means to be healthy.  Bobby is a successful online business owner and just all around great guy.  And one of his great talents is to be able to take seemingly complicated things and simplifying them for the layman. And I think you really get to see that in how he breaks down how easy it is to get and stay in shape.  I'll try to get time stamps in here because this was chockfull of great insights. https://linktr.ee/ranbirsanghera

What we think isn't true: a message to a client

This is a series of message I sent to one of my online clients. She had sent me this message:  tracked something that i label as annoying to track haha - progress And of course I asked her how easy was it in relation to what she had assumed to be true: It was easy, but more importantly, I opted to eat something @ the house this AM instead of grabbing a bkfst sandwich @ the coffee shop that was going to be a bit harder to deconstruct/track  Exactly. So you can see that she used the 4 Lenses of Fat Loss: ✅ high enjoyment ✅ low calorie ✅ fast and easy ✅ easy to track It's so important that we start to slow down so we can see how we're actually thinking. Our brain is moving so fast that thoughts move through so quickly that there is no space between them and you. So you believe they are 100% true. Easy fat loss = concept + application

Knowing and understanding only comes from application. Things like the Food Enjoyment Matrix may “make sense” in your head but true knowing comes from doing. I have been thinking about what was the actual path I took to get here. Becuase when we’re good at something, we forget what it was like to be that beginner.

  8. 96

It’s as easy to get abs as it is to lose 5 lbs

How you can do the simplest things to get the biggest results. And why the fact that people think it’s more complicated than that actually prevents them from ever starting to begin with. Message me for coaching, programs, consults [email protected]

  9. 95

Living in the next obvious step

Questions before taking action leads to procrastination and non useful discussion. But when you take the next obvious steps, you find insight, more useful discussion, and rapid improvement in skill and fulfilling of desires.

  10. 94

    Language of muscle and reality

Speaking the language of muscle will make it change. Plus some thoughts on creating reality

  12. 92

Why I’m going to squat everyday for 1 whole year

Squatting to a daily max everyday? Why?!

  13. 91

Burritos can make you fat…or they can make you lean

Looking at food as good or bad is not a useful or pleasant framework. Here’s a better way….

  14. 90

Chicken tenders will save you this year

The more mental bandwidth you need to solve the same problem over and over, the more likely you are to blow yourself up. Instead, make it simple, useful, and pleasant. Figure out a few recipes that you put on repeat. That’s how you make fat loss automatic and enjoyable.

  15. 89

Be kind and still dominate life

You can have success and not have to be a jerk.

  16. 88

15 seconds to un complicate a daily donut

I prefer to have a six pack and eat a donut. That’s what the food enjoyment matrix allows me to do. Take a few minutes and level up your food decision making.

  17. 87

Decision fatigue and eating the same thing

If you eat what you like daily on repeat without having to think about it every day….results become easy and effortlesss and enjoyable

  18. 86

Getting an answer vs knowing how to get an answer vs “is this even a question worth asking”

Better to know the frameworks than get an answer to a bullshit question that didn’t need to be asked in the first place

  19. 85

    Client deep dive: Monique

How to laugh, have a good time, and get absurd results.

  22. 82

    Survivorship bias

Don’t look at the survivors…look at all the people who didn’t make it to get the full picture.

  23. 81

The secret for muscle change: it’s not some special workout or exercise 🛫

If you know the specific ingredient that changes a muscle, you can change the muscle with virtually any equipment or program. Let’s gooooo

  24. 80

An unhelpful question: how much muscle can I build?

This question derails a lot of people through a waste of time and resource spent on things that don’t change behaviors. Don’t be that person.

When you want to do calculus but refuse to learn algebra

The Strength Method Nutrition levels allow you to build the basics of food freedom. Eat what you want when you want and stay ripped all year round. Most people try to skip to the fancy shit and ignore the fundamentals. Those people crash and burn. Don’t be one of those poor shmucks.

  40. 64

The enchilada challenge was a failure...OR WAS IT?

How you measure your day determines success or failure. Most people judge by “did I follow the plan perfectly” but that’s not helpful. Each day presents many obstacles that could prevent following the plan perfectly. Instead, if you change your measuring to “how well did I adapt to each circumstance”, you are ALWAYS closing the gap between where you are and where you want to be.

  41. 63

My thought process as my plan is falling apart: real time adjustments

How I think about and navigate “road blocks.” Also how i make myself anti-fragile and able to make progress no matter ANY circumstance.
