Mean Girls, Wellness, and Learning to Trust Again

Why does being excluded hurt so much?In this episode of Truth Talks, Lucy is joined by Lara Lyn of Holy Wild Wellness for an honest conversation about Mean Girl culture, friendship wounds, exclusion, ghosting, and the often-unspoken dynamics that can arise within wellness communities.Together, they explore how these experiences affect us, why they can feel so painful, and how we begin to heal without becoming bitter, guarded, or closed-hearted ourselves. This isn't an episode about blame or gossip. It's a conversation about belonging, the sister wound, self-worth, and finding a way back to trust, authenticity, and connection. For anyone who has ever felt left out, pushed out, talked about, ghosted, blocked, or suddenly found themselves on the outside looking in, this episode is for you.

The Cult I Didn't Know I Was In

In this episode of Truth Talks, I sit down with Jess Weinstock to explore her nine-year journey inside a yoga organisation she later came to recognise as having many of the characteristics of a cult. What began as an inspiring and empowering movement offering community and transformation became increasingly uncomfortable. Jess started noticing troubling behaviours: unquestioning loyalty, manipulation, fear of speaking out, and leadership dynamics that left little room for dissent.Together, we explore how intelligent, thoughtful people can find themselves caught up in unhealthy group dynamics, why belonging is such a powerful human need, and what it takes to walk away when your identity, friendships and sense of community are wrapped up in an organisation. This conversation is not about blame or judgement. It's about curiosity, critical thinking and understanding the subtle ways influence, power and control can show up in wellness spaces. Please note: this episode contains discussion of coercive control, manipulation, emotional harm and cult dynamics, which some listeners might find triggering. Listener discretion is advised. In this episode, Jess shares her personal experience of involvement with Buti Yoga and how her understanding of that experience evolved over time. The views expressed are those of the guest and are shared as part of a broader conversation about community, influence, belonging, and wellbeing.Useful Links:Body Wisdom: 4 week One-to-One Online Somatic Mentoring Journey with Lucy - https://www.soultribestudios.co.uk/body-wisdomJoin SoulTribe Sangha: 6 month Immersion into the roots, traditions and philosophies of yoga, starting September 2026 - https://www.soultribestudios.co.uk/soultribe-sangha-6-month-immersionJoin the SoulTribe: https://www.soultribestudios.co.uk/Follow Lucy on IG: https://www.instagram.com/soul.tribe.yoga/You can find Jess' work at:360 Degree Moves:https://www.360degreemoves.comFollow Jess on IG: https://www.instagram.com/jesslark1/

Truth Talks #2: Grief, Burnout & the Healing Power of Reiki

In Episode 2 of Truth Talks, I'm joined by Alex Cutler from The Wellbeing Atelier.Alex shares her personal journey through grief, burnout, and the path that eventually led her to Reiki. Together, we explore what can happen when we reconnect with our own capacity to heal, even during the most challenging seasons of life.Along the way, we swap stories, discuss what Reiki actually is (and isn't), and share a healthy scepticism towards the sensationalised healing content that often dominates social media. We also ponder why so many people are willing to trust invisible things like Wi-Fi, yet remain deeply doubtful about energy healing. This is a warm, honest and deeply personal conversation about resilience, recovery, healing, and finding your way back to yourself.Whether you're Reiki-curious, navigating your own period of burnout or loss, or simply interested in the many ways people heal, we hope you'll find something here that resonates.Helpful links:To Lucy's work - https://www.soultribestudios.co.uk/https://www.instagram.com/soul.tribe.yoga/Find Alex at - https://thewellbeingatelier.com/abouthttps://www.instagram.com/the.wellbeing.atelier/
