Angel Reese, Aneesah Morrow Named To Naismith Defensive Player Of The Year Watchlist
The 13th-ranked women’s basketball team takes on Vanderbilt tonight in Nashville for a Music City matchup! The Tigers just had their best SEC win over Florida and look to keep the momentum high over the Commodores. Aneesah Morrow and Angel Reese were just named to the Naismith Defensive Player of the Year Watchlist. The Tigers will take on Vanderbilt at 8 pm on the SEC Network. Dalton Knecht had 27 points, seven rebounds and six assists to lead No. 6 Tennessee to an 88-68 victory over LSU on Wednesday night. Zakai Zeigler had 17 points, nine assists and five steals and Jordan Gainey came off the bench to score 18 for the Volunteers (17-5, 7-2 Southeastern Conference). “It’s important to note there are some really good players around Knecht,” LSU coach Matt McMahon said. “He has turned himself into a Top 10 NBA pick. It’s a tough cover. We just make his shots as difficult as we can.” Will Baker had 16 points and Derek Fountain scored 11 for the Tigers (12-10, 4-5). “Zeigler does a great job organizing that team,” McMahon said. “When he’s is shooting well, he’s hard to cover.” The most interesting statistic came with LSU dominating the rebounding 40-27. Trae Hannibal, a 6-foot-2 guard, led the way with 11. “I thought we tried to rebound the ball with one hand,” Tennessee coach Rick Barnes said. “You've gotta grab it and secure the ball with two hands. You can't be a great team if you can't rebound the ball.” Tennessee led by as many as 26 points early in the second half. LSU went on a 13-0 run midway through the second and got as close as eight before a three-point play by Knecht bumped the lead back to double digits. “(Tennessee's) pressure really bothered us,” said McMahon. “We didn't have anything left in the tank. We couldn't get it any closer than eight.” Softball season is finally here! The No. 14/15 Tigers will host Nicholls tonight at 6 pm at Tiger Park. LSU has won 33-straight against the Colonels. The rest of the weekend, they’ll host the 2024 LSU Invitational with Pittsburgh and Memphis. All games this weekend will be streamed on SEC Network+. Two Tigers are headed back to Augusta! Latanna Stone and Ingrid Lindblad received invites to the 2024 Augusta National Women’s Amateur in April. Joining them will be LSU signee and younger sister of current Tiger Carla Tejedo, Rocio Tejedo. Ingrid remains the World No. 1 Amateur, and has held that position for the last 36 weeks. She was also named the SEC Golfer of the Week after her second-place finish in the Puerto Rico Classic. Aneesah Morrow, Mikaylah Williams, Hailey Van Lith Lead LSU To Big Win Over Florida | REACTION
Aneesah Morrow had 18 points, 20 rebounds, two blocks and a steal, and No. 9 LSU snapped a two-game skid with a resounding 106-66 victory over Florida on Sunday. Hailey Van Lith and Mikaylah Williams each scored 21 points, and Angel Reese added 14 points and 10 rebounds for the Tigers (19-4, 6-3 SEC), who raced to a double-digit lead in the first quarter and led by as many as 45 points in the second half. LSU was looking to rediscover its dominant form after a surprising road loss last Monday night at unranked Mississippi State — a result that followed a disheartening Jan. 25 home loss to unbeaten and No. 1 South Carolina after the Tigers had led most of that game. Flau'Jae Johnson scored 10 points to give all five starters at least that many. Morrow scored from all over the offensive end, complementing her putbacks and generally powerful play in the paint with a pair of 3s. Aliyah Matharu led Florida (11-9, 2-6) with 16 points and five steals and Leilani Correa added 13 points. After Florida opened with a 6-2 lead, LSU took control by scoring 10 straight in a span of 1:57 — part of a run that grew to 14 straight. The surge included a pair of transition jumpers by Williams and Johnson's right-wing 3. When Williams wasn't scoring, Van Lith was hitting mid-range jumpers off screens, or Reese was scoring from the paint and at the foul line. The Tigers avoided what would have been their first three-game losing streak since coach Kim Mulkey took over before the 2021-22 season. They have had just two two-game skids and never lost two straight last season, when they won the national title. ... Morrow had her team-leading 14th double-double in 23 games played, while Reese had her 13th in her 19th game played. LSU BALLS OUT In Win Over Arkansas | LSU Basketball Recap
LSU’s men’s basketball ended a three-game skid in SEC play on Saturday at home, beating Arkansas 95-74 in a morning showdown as the Tigers move to 12-9 overall and 4-4 in league play. LSU had a red-hot start offensively, hitting 8 of its first 9 shots from the field and five of its first six threes. A lot of that production came from Will Baker, who was dominant in the half and scored 17 points on 7 of 8 shooting including 3 of 4 from three-point range. The Tigers stretched out a lead as big as 21 points, but they allowed Arkansas to cut that deficit down before half. The Hogs ended the period on a 6-0 run, but they still faced a 45-30 deficit heading into the locker room. The second half was more of the same for LSU, which managed to stretch its lead out as wide as 28 points. Baker finished with 25 points, hitting 9 of his 11 shots from the field, while Jalen Cook scored 20 and Jordan Wright added 13. The Tigers managed to recapture some momentum heading into a crucial road matchup on Wednesday night against a Tennessee team that currently ranks fifth in the nation.Other Culture Media Shows:The 10 Second Runoff: https://www.youtube.com/@10secondrunoffThe Up & In Show: https://www.youtube.com/@UpAndInShowValley Vision: https://www.youtube.com/@ValleyVision Bets And Breaks: https://www.youtube.com/@BetsAndBreaksLASmall Talk And Tall Tales: https://www.youtube.com/@SmallTalkAndTallTales Culture Media: https://www.youtube.com/CultureMediaLA#WillBaker #LSUBasketball #LSUSports

Haleigh Bryant & Kiya Johnson Score PERFECT 10’s To Lead LSU To Win Over Kentucky
The LSU women’s basketball took a tumble in the rankings following last weekend’s loss to Auburn, which was its first in SEC play. But the Tigers remained in the top 10, and after a 2-0 week that featured decisive wins over Alabama and Arkansas, they are moving back up in the rankings. In the latest AP Top 25, they moved up one spot to No. 9. That will set up a top-10 matchup on Thursday night at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center as undefeated No. 1 South Carolina comes to town with ESPN’s College GameDay in attendance. LSU will look to snap the Gamecocks’ nation-leading 27-game road winning streak. The Tigers are 18-2 on the year and 4-1 in SEC play so far. With a win on Thursday night, they would almost certainly climb back into the top five.LSU’s men’s basketball team seems to have turned something of a corner to begin SEC play. After a rough non-conference stretch, the team began SEC play 3-1 with a ranked road win against Ole Miss. It also took down Texas A&M by double-digits on the road, but it couldn’t get the sweep when it hosted the Aggies again on Saturday in what was a 73-69 loss.LSU gymnastics began conference competition on Friday, hosting No. 6 Kentucky in the PMAC. It couldn’t have gone much better for LSU with the Tigers posting a score of 198.125, the highest score we’ve seen around the country this year. LSU had a strong performance on vault, headlined by a 9.975 from Haleigh Bryant and a 9.925 from Savannah Schoenherr. But it was the floor that pushed LSU’s score into the upper echelon. The Tigers’ floor score would have been a season-high for any team in the country and was the third-highest in program history. Kiya Johnson stole the show and anchored the rotation with a perfect 10. Johnson finished with a 39.650 in the all-around, a season-high for her. The win was Jay Clark’s 50th career victory at LSU after taking over the program in 2021. Next up for the Tigers is a trip to Missouri on Friday. Missouri, which is coming off a win against No. 20 Georgia and has just one loss to No. 4 Alabama, will be another tough test for LSU.LINK TO DONATE TO THE GREG BROOKS VICTORY FUND: https://lsusports.evenue.net/www/ev_lsu/ss/ev/DonationEntry?donationCd=GBRF&linkID=lsu&locale=en_US&siteId=ev_lsuOther Culture Media Shows:The 10 Second Runoff: https://www.youtube.com/@10secondrunoffThe Up & In Show: https://www.youtube.com/@UpAndInShowValley Vision: https://www.youtube.com/@ValleyVision Bets And Breaks: https://www.youtube.com/@BetsAndBreaksLASmall Talk And Tall Tales: https://www.youtube.com/@SmallTalkAndTallTales Culture Media: https://www.youtube.com/CultureMediaLA#AngelReese #LivvyDunne #LSUSports

Mikaylah Williams, Hailey Van Lith Lead LSU To BIG Win Over Arkansas | LSU Women’s Basketball Recap
No. 10 LSU women's basketball, behind an 18-0 run to open the game, had doubled up the Hogs by the midway point through the second quarter. Shooting north of 40% in the first 13 minutes, led by the outside shot, the Tigers cruised to a 99-68 victory Sunday night. The win for LSU (18-2, 5-1) and Kim Mulkey sets the stage for a monster showdown with No. 1 South Carolina (17-0, 5-0) and Dawn Staley Thursday night. Against Arkansas, she may have regained her footing. The Bossier City product scored 15 of the team's first 33 points, going 6-of-7 from the field during that stretch. Williams knocked down three 3's in the first 12 minutes. Her passing and rebounding made a difference as well, securing boards, racing down the court to find open teammates. The freshman finished with a game-high 21 points along with nine rebounds and three assists. In the scorching first half, it was all about the drive-and-kick game with the guards to open wing players. The Tigers were hot and the shots from Williams, Van Lith, Flau'jae Johnson – even Angel Reese hit a 3 – were falling in the first half to give LSU a big, 55-28 halftime lead. Out of the locker room, Mulkey called for her team to focus on the inside game with Reese and Aneesah Morrow. Reese finished with 16 points, 17 rebounds and Morrow kicked in 14. The team scored 22 points in the paint in the second half. From the tip, LSU was determined to get the ball out and run in transition off misses. It just so happened that Arkansas plenty of shots, making just 28% of its attempts and the Tiger guards, Hailey Van Lith, Williams, Last-Tear Poa and Flau'jae Johnson used that to their advantage. LSU pushed the pace, drove the basket a lot and dished when the land wasn't open. That led to open 3-pointers, which the Tigers knocked down 8-of-16 of those. Van Lith, who scored 20, and Poa led LSU's quick approach, each with six assists. As a team, the Tigers finished with 21. Angel Reese, Aneesah Morrow Rack Double-Doubles + Livvy Dunne, LSU Gymnastics Kentucky Preview
For Alabama, they brought their best. But LSU made adjustments and broke away in the second half to secure a 78-58 win. The Crimson Tide had a 35-34 lead at halftime, but held Alabama to just 10 points in the third quarter. Angel Reese was contained in the first half, but she found a crack in the Crimson Tide’s system in the second half. She finished with 20 points and 17 rebounds. But Aneesah Morrow and Flau’jae Johnson especially stepped up when Alabama contained Reese. Morrow finished with her 12th double-double of the season with 20 points and 11 rebounds. With Reese being contained in the first half, Morrow finding the basket showed that it’s difficult for opposing teams to stop both Reese and Morrow. Morrow even shot 2 for 3 from three, and had three steals. Johnson also remained consistent on Thursday night with 10 points and eight rebounds. The sophomore guard has been arguably one of LSU’s best defensive players, as she also finished with three steals. Hailey Van Lith also had three steals along with eight points and four assists. Mikaylah Williams finished with 14 points for the Tigers, but once again remained quiet in the Tigers’ win. LSU forced 19 turnovers from Alabama as opposed to 12 turnovers from the Tigers. They will take the court back in Baton Rouge at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center on Sunday against Arkansas. That game will tip-off at 4 p.m. C.T., and will be broadcasted on ESPN. The top-10 nationally ranked LSU Gymnastics team will host No. 6 Kentucky for their SEC opener on Friday, January 19 at 8 p.m. CT inside the Pete Maravich Assembly Center. The competition between the Tigers and the Wildcats marks the 96th overall meeting between the two programs. LSU holds the series record over Kentucky at 85-10-0 and are 24-2-0 at home. Introductions of the team begin at 7:52 p.m. CT with the first vault set for 8:05 p.m. CT on SEC Network. John Roethlesberger will be joined on the call by three-time Olympic gold medalist Aly Raisman in her NCAA broadcasting debut. Taylor Davis will be the on-site reporter.

Jordan Wright BALLS OUT, Corey Raymond Is BACK & EXCLUSIVE LSU Tiger Girls Content
He's back. LSU is finalizing a deal with Corey Raymond to return as the next defensive backs coach of the Tigers after a stint at Florida. The anticipation is that he will take on duties with the cornerbacks, but a title is still being worked out, sources tell LSU Country. Raymond, an architect to the "DBU" tradition in Baton Rouge, makes his way back to Death Valley for a second run with the Bayou Bengals. Raymond spent 10 seasons with the Tigers before Brian Kelly’s arrival to Baton Rouge ahead of the 2022 season. Raymond then coached the defensive backs at Florida for two seasons under Billy Napier before the two sides parted ways. Raymond’s secondary has produced seven First-Team All-Americans during his time at LSU, a list that includes Eric Reid (2012), Jalen Mills (2015), Jamal Adams (2016), Tre’Davious White (2016), Greedy Williams (2018), Grant Delpit (2018 and 2019) and Derek Stingley Jr. (2019, 2020). LSU is also expected to tab Jake Olsen as the Tigers' safeties coach. Olsen reportedly came with LSU's new defensive coordinator Blake Baker to Baton Rouge and has been at LSU the last couple of weeks, but it has not been clear if he would assume an on-field coaching role. The last two seasons, Olsen served as a defensive analyst at Missouri where he worked under Baker and also has previous experience as a special teams coordinator. Prior to his stint in Columbia, Missouri, Olsen was on Ed Orgeron's staff at LSU in 2021. Tigers defensive tackle Jacobian Guillory did not enter his name into the 2024 NFL draft prior to Monday’s deadline and instead plans to return to LSU for what will be his redshirt senior season. A former four-star prospect from Alexandria, Louisiana, Guillory has mostly been a rotational player in his four years at LSU. He’s appeared in 39 games but made just three starts, two of which came in 2022 and one of which was this past season. Coming off their first loss in conference play this season on the road against Auburn, the LSU women’s basketball team finds itself back in a hostile road environment on Thursday night as it travels to Coleman Coliseum to take on Alabama in Tuscaloosa. Every road game the Tigers have played so far this season has either set a program/arena record or been a shutout, and this will likely be no different as the Crimson Tide look for a huge win. Alabama sits at 15-4 on the year but is just 2-2 in SEC play and coming off an 18-point loss to Arkansas at home its last time out. Here’s what you need to know to watch as LSU looks for a similar result in Tuscaloosa. LSU earned its first ranked win of the season on Wednesday night, moving to 11-6 overall and 3-1 in SEC play with an 89-80 win over the Ole Miss Rebels in the Pete Maravich Assembly Center. The Rebels managed to take several decent-sized leads in the first half, and the Tigers found themselves trailing by as much as seven. But in large part thanks to big halves from Jordan Wright and Jalen Reed, who had 11 and eight points in the frame, respectively, LSU took a 35-33 lead to the locker room despite shooting just 41.4% as a team. However, the Tigers shot above 50% in the second half while Ole Miss shot just 32.4%. They stretched their lead to as much as 16 points, and though Ole Miss would cut it to single digits a few times, it never got closer than five points in the final 10 minutes. Wright finished with a game-high 27 points, while Jalen Cook ultimately finished behind him with 16 points. The Tigers allowed big nights to stars Jaylen Murray (23 points), Matthew Murrell (20 points) and Allen Flanigan (19 points), but the rest of the Rebels struggled to get going. LSU TIGER GIRLS DO IT AGAIN! Livvy Dunne & Konnor McClain Standout In LSU Gym Meet
The LSU Tiger Girls, the Louisiana State University’s esteemed hip-hop dance team, have once again made headlines with a stunning victory at the UDA College Nationals in Orlando. The team captivated audiences with a Michael Jackson-inspired hip-hop routine, earning a triumphant score of 97.2222 and reaffirming their status as one of the most formidable collegiate dance teams in the nation. The Tiger Girls didn’t stop at hip-hop. They also showcased their versatility by securing third place in the Division IA Jazz division. Their jazz routine, set to Aaliyah’s ‘Are You That Somebody,’ offered a stunning contrast to their hip-hop performance, demonstrating the team’s wide range of talents. This victory holds particular significance for the LSU Tiger Girls. In 2021, they faced challenges from the LSU Athletic Department, which initially denied them the opportunity to compete. The reasons ranged from COVID-19 concerns to funding and the availability of athletic trainers, with the department prioritizing NCAA-recognized sports. Despite these hurdles, the team emerged victorious, securing their second consecutive win following their 2022 championship with a routine to Ciara’s ‘Like A Boy.’ The Tiger Girls’ latest performance is not just a testament to their exceptional talent, but also to their resilience and determination. As they continue to gain popularity on social media and the global stage, they are undoubtedly a force to be reckoned with in the world of collegiate dance.Olivia Dunne is out to make her senior season on LSU’s gymnastics team her “best one.” The 21-year-old athlete and social media sensation earned a score of 9.850 in a floor routine Saturday at the Sprouts Farmers Market Collegiate Quad Meet in Salt Lake City, where LSU placed second overall with a score of 197.150. The Tigers, in their second event of the year, fell to top-ranked Oklahoma, (197.900) but defeated No. 12 UCLA (197.100) and No. 2 Utah (196.975). Freshman Konnor McClain delivered an impressive performance Saturday, earning her first-ever perfect score of 10.00 on the bars.In a major upset, the Auburn women's basketball team toppled then-No. 7 ranked LSU, snapping LSU's impressive 16-game winning streak with a 67-62 victory on Sunday. Auburn's defense played a pivotal role in securing the win, holding LSU Coach Kim Mulkey and her high-scoring Tigers, known for their nation-leading 93.8 points per game average, to a season-low. LSU coach Kim Mulkey reflected on the loss post-game, attributing Auburn's win to their energy, particularly in pressuring LSU and disrupting their passing game. LSU's offensive struggles, aside from Reese's contribution, were evident in the game. The win marks Auburn's first victory over a top-10 opponent since defeating No. 4 Tennessee in January 2022, while this is LSU's first loss since their season opener against Colorado.A furious comeback wasn't enough, so a four-game win streak ended Saturday night for the LSU men's basketball team. Auburn used a raucous Neville Arena crowd to jump to a 28-point lead over LSU in the second half of Saturday's matchup of undefeated SEC teams. LSU cut the lead to eight late in the game but fell to Auburn, 93-78. Trae Hannibal had 18 points to lead all LSU scorers. The Tigers, 10-6 (2-1), host Ole Miss on Wednesday. Will LSU Win The SEC In 2024 With Nick Saban Gone? + NFLSU Showing Out In The Playoffs
LSU Football has been racking up dub after dub this offseason. Brian Kelly’s been putting in work, locking in the No.1 quarterback, running back and wide receiver in 2025 and bringing in guys like Blake Baker and Bo Davis to elevate the defense. And now, luck seems to be on his side with the retirement of Nick Saban. Alabama players have started to enter the transfer portal, including wide receiver Isaiah Bond; and it’s only a matter of time before recruits begin to flip. As the Alabama coaching search progresses, can LSU sneak in to poach some of the recruits they’ll lose? And can LSU win the SEC in 2024 without the Alabama powerhouse?LSU was the only school with three players on the Wooden Award Midseason Top-25 Watchlist. Angel Reese, Aneesah Morrow, and Mikaylah Williams made the list as LSU’s top-three scorers. Angel is averaging 19.8 points per game, Aneesah averages 18.5, and Mikaylah 16.9. They’re strong candidates for the 2024 John R. Wooden Award Women’s Player of the Year. The nation’s No. 1 scoring defense had no answer for the nation’s top offense. The Tigers took down Texas A&M 87-70, with all five starters scoring in double figures. Aneesah Morrow led the Tigers in scoring with 21 points, adding eight rebounds and two steals. Angel Reese recorded her eighth double-double of the season with 20 points and 18 rebounds. Hailey Van Lith scored 14, Mikaylah Williams 16, and Flau’Jae Johnson scored 10. LSU will be back in action on Sunday at Auburn. The men’s basketball team is chasing their fifth-straight win this weekend against some tough competition. They’re playing at No. 16 Auburn tomorrow at 5 pm on the SEC Network. LSU is currently 2-0 in conference play, and so is Auburn. LSU’s football season may be finished, but there are still some formerTigers on the field! Actually, quite a few. There are 27 former LSU players in the NFL Playoffs that start this weekend. 14 of those players are on active rosters, nine on practice squads, and four on injured reserve. They’ll start things off with wild-card weekend on Saturday. The No. 5 nationally ranked LSU Gymnastics team is set to compete in ESPN’s first-ever invitational, the Sprouts Farmers Market Collegiate Quad Meet, on Saturday, January 13 at 3 p.m. CT in the Maverik Center. The early-season quad meet features four of the top-ranked teams in the country, who all made up last year’s Final Four. In the meet, LSU will take on No. 1 Oklahoma, No. 2 Utah and No. 12 UCLA on the national stage as the competition will air on ABC.LINK TO DONATE TO THE GREG BROOKS VICTORY FUND: https://lsusports.evenue.net/www/ev_lsu/ss/ev/DonationEntry?donationCd=GBRF&linkID=lsu&locale=en_US&siteId=ev_lsu Other Culture Media Shows: The 10 Second Runoff: https://www.youtube.com/@10secondrunoff The Up & In Show: https://www.youtube.com/@UpAndInShow Valley Vision: https://www.youtube.com/@ValleyVision Bets And Breaks: https://www.youtube.com/@BetsAndBreaksLA Small Talk And Tall Tales: https://www.youtube.com/@SmallTalkAndTallTales Culture Media: https://www.youtube.com/CultureMediaLA#NickSaban #BrianKelly #LSUFootball

Angel Reese, Aneesah Morrow Lead LSU To 87-70 Win Over Texas A&M
Texas A&M isn't leading Division I in scoring defense for no reason. The Aggies built a few runs off of its stingy defense to either briefly take the lead – which was early – or cut LSU women's basketball advantage down to with a couple of possession like in the third quarter. Kim Mulkey and her bunch, who sports the nation's highest scoring offense, countered with a heavy dose of Angel Reese as the Tigers stood firm out of those A&M runs to pull away, 87-70, inside the Pete Maravich Assembly Center Thursday night. Reese finished with a double-double of 20 points and 18 rebounds to lead LSU (16-1, 3-0) to its third straight Southeastern Conference victory. #angelreese #lsubasketball #kimmulkey

Blake Baker, Bryce Underwood Are Tigers, Mikaylah Williams Breaks Ankles & Haleigh Bryant Owns Vault
The women’s basketball team kept their 15-game win-streak intact with an 84-73 win at Ole Miss. All five starters ended in double figures for 83 of the 84 points. Mikaylah Williams led the team with 20 points, including four from beyond the arc. She also added seven rebounds and four steals. Angel Reese and Aneesah Morrow combined for 34 points and 17 boards, Angel scoring 21 on her own. Hailey Van Lith scored 13 points and Flau’Jae Johnson scored 16. The Tigers return home to face Texas A&M on Thursday at 7 pm.LSU announced a new defensive coordinator on Friday, but he’s not so new to LSU. Blake Baker was hired after serving as Missouri’s defensive coordinator and safeties coach for the past two seasons. Before that, he was LSU’s linebackers coach in 2021. He brings eight years of defensive coordinator experience. At LSU, he coached All-American Damone Clark who was a fifth round NFL Draft pick and currently starts for the Dallas Cowboys. The LSU men’s basketball has started SEC play 1-0! The Tigers went to Texas A&M to beat the Aggies 68-53 over the weekend. They held them to just 25.4% shooting from the field. The Tigers outscored Texas A&M 38-21 in the second half. Jordan Wright led the team with 20 points and 10 rebounds. Jalen Cook was another Tiger in double-digits, with 13 points, three assists, and two steals. They’ll be back on the court on Tuesday at home against Vanderbilt at 8 pm.The LSU’s gymnastics team took the win against the Ohio State Buckeyes Friday night in its 2024 season opener. The Tigers started the meet on vault, where they finished with 49.375 points. Bryant was the high-scorer with a 9.950 as the anchor. Also in the Tigers' vault lineup was true freshman Amari Drayton, a member of the 2021 U.S. Olympic Team Trials. Drayton scored a 9.925, finishing second on the leaderboard, behind Bryant. LSU scored another 49.375. Johnson was first on the leaderboard with a 9.925 on bars. Alexis Jeffrey started strong with a 9.775, but the momentum was quickly halted when Sierra Ballard obtained the first fall of the meet. Freshman Konnor McClain followed Ballard and though she attempted to pick up the energy, a fall of her own led to a score of 8.950. The Tigers ended with a 48.700 on beam. The Tigers ended victorious with a 196.975-196.775 win over the Buckeyes. Matt House FIRED + Kim Mulkey & LSU Women’s Basketball Open Up SEC Play
Brian Kelly announced Wednesday that LSU Football would be parting ways with Matt House, Kerry Cooks, Robert Steeples, and Jimmy Lindsey; and LSU Football fans seem to be ECSTATIC about the decision. But they’re not the only ones who had something to say. Mekhi Wingo reacted quite interestingly to House trying to congratulate him after the ReliaQuest Bowl, Harold Perkins Jr. tweeted a cryptic tweet, and Bradyn Swinson posted a very telling Instagram story. Did the LSU defensive players hate Matt House as much as the fans did?Kim Mulkey and LSU Women’s Basketball will tip off at 8p.m. Thursday night in the PMAC to start off SEC play against Mizzou. LSU leads the all-time series 13-4 and won 77-57 in Columbia last year. Angel Reese and the Tigers are on a13-game win streak after dropping the season opener to Colorado. LSU leads the nation in scoring (95.07), steals per game (13.36), free throws attempted per game (31.7), free throws made per game (23.5) and is second in scoring margin (36.43). The Tigers are first in the SEC in turnover margin (+8.93) and second in field goal percentage (50.1), rebound margin (17.43) and blocked shots per game (6.36) But Kim Mulkey says defense needs to be more polished. They’ll be tested with Mizzou forward Hayley Franks, double digit points in 11 of 13 games, leads Missouri with a 16.2 scoring average for seventh in the SEC, who also ranks 13th in rebounds (7.4), has made a team-high 27 3’s and is the school’s sixth all-time leading scorer, and guard Ashton Todd, who has four double-doubles, is next at 14.4 points and 6.7 rebounds LINK TO DONATE TO THE GREG BROOKS VICTORY FUND: https://lsusports.evenue.net/www/ev_lsu/ss/ev/DonationEntry?donationCd=GBRF&linkID=lsu&locale=en_US&siteId=ev_lsuOther Culture Media Shows: The 10 Second Runoff: https://www.youtube.com/@10secondrunoff The Up & In Show: https://www.youtube.com/@UpAndInShow Valley Vision: https://www.youtube.com/@ValleyVision Bets And Breaks: https://www.youtube.com/@BetsAndBreaksLA Small Talk And Tall Tales: https://www.youtube.com/@SmallTalkAndTallTales Culture Media: https://www.youtube.com/CultureMediaLA#MattHouse #LSUFootball #KimMulkey

Garrett Nussmeier Shows Off + Mike Williams Earns SEC Freshman Of The Week
The Tigers closed out the football season on New Year’s Day with a 35-31 win over Wisconsin! Garrett Nussmeier proved his reliability in the ReliaQuest Bowl — backed into their own endzone, the quarterback led the Tigers 98 yards down the field to get the lead with 3:08 left. He was named the ReliaQuest Bowl MVP, going 31-for-45 for 395 passing yards and three touchdowns. Brian Thomas Jr. caught two of those touchdowns passes and added 98 receiving yards. Malik Nabers broke the LSU record for most career receiving yards in program history with 3,003. Major Burns led the defense with 13 tackles. This was LSU’s largest bowl comeback (14 points) in program history.Garrett Nussmeier ReliaQuest Bowl Stats: - 31/45 - 395 passing yards - 3 TDs - 1 win In his second season coaching LSU, Coach Brian Kelly has completed his second 10-win season. He scored a season-high 20 points in just 21 minutes of play. The freshman went 6-of-9 from three and added one rebound and one assist. EJECTED! Angel Reese HOLDS Kim Mulkey Back From Ref
LSU women’s basketball coach Kim Mulkey was ejected from a game against Northwestern State on Sunday night while her team was up by 41 points and had to be held back by several members of her team. The Tigers were dominating their intrastate opponent, but that didn’t stop Mulkey from absolutely losing it on an official during the fourth quarter after she disagreed with a charge call on guard Aneesah Morrow. While Mulkey went after the ref, star forward Angel Reese and other LSU players tried to hold back the coaching great, and after the 81–36 win, Reese had the perfect reaction to the whole debacle. LSU Football added a pair of key Transfer Portal targets after revealing their commitments to the program. It's been a busy week for LSU. With nine total departures through the first two weeks of the portal and a pair of additions on Friday, the offseason is in full swing. The Additions:Zavion Thomas: Wide Receiver Jardin Gilbert: Safety The Departures:Sage Ryan: Defensive BackFitzgerald West: Defensive LinemanMarlon Martinez: Offensive LinemanQuency Wiggins: Defensive EndJackson McGohan: Tight EndBryce Langston: Defensive LinemanKevontre Bradford: Running BackArmoni Goodwin: Running BackLaterrance Welch: CornerbackThe NCAA has since agreed to a court deal with seven states on Friday that would allow all two-time transfers to be eligible to play immediately without retaliation from the NCAA until the end of the spring sports season. That means Cook will be able to play for LSU for the remainder of this season without any potential restrictions.Jalen Cook had long been expected to be the star of the LSU season. Even with the delay of his season debut due to NCAA transfer eligibility rules, there were big expectations when he checked in against No. 19 Texas on Saturday. It took him seven minutes, but his first make was a deep 3-pointer off the dribble, the type of difficult shot few others on the LSU team can make.Cook played all 20 minutes of the second half, helping spark a near comeback that pulled LSU within seven after an earlier 22-point deficit. He finished with 13 points and six assists. With all eyes on Cook and his impact on the Tiger offense, it was the defensive end that ultimately sank any chances of winning. Texas’ offense slowed down during LSU’s comeback attempt, but it caught second wind to close out the 96-85 win.LSU was on its heels throughout the game, clearly overpowered by Texas’ offensive firepower. Veteran starter Jordan Wright was unproductive with two points in the first half, but he turned it on in the second frame, finishing with a career high 33 points. The LSU Gymnastics program shined at its annual Gym 101 showcase on Saturday evening inside the Pete Maravich Assembly Center as the Tigers showcased 50 routines ahead of the 2024 season. The Gym 101 showcase had a different format this year compared to previous ones, with the team splitting into two groups and alternating between two events to help prepare the Tigers for meets in the spring that will feature more than two teams. The first rotation of the meet started with one group on the beam and the other on the floor. The night saw multiple debut’s with routines from freshmen Konnor McClain, Amari Drayton and Kylie Coen and newcomers Savannah Schoenherr and Jillian Hoffman. The veteran duo of Cammy Hall and Kiya Johnson also made their returns in the showcase after suffering injury last season. TIGER TEA!!!! Rod Wave’s recent stop on his United States tour had a shocking feature. The 25-year-old Florida rapper brought out rising hoop star and rapper Flau’jae Johnson to perform onstage with him. During the Dec. 13 Atlanta stop of his Nostalgia tour, the “Rags to Riches” artist brought Louisiana State University player Johnson onstage to perform. The basketball player, named 2023 SEC Freshman of the Year, performed her track titled “Big 4.” According to TMZ Sports, the LSU guard was an unlisted feature on Wave’s Nostalgia tour alongside big names Ari Lennox, Toosi, G Herbo, and Eelmatic. The player has already dropped several tracks and music videos in her burgeoning rap career. Her “Big 4” music video has nearly 1.5 million views, and another track, “Karma,” featuring rapper 2Rare, has nearly 1 million views. As previously reported, Johnson performed for LeBron James and his friends and family for his “Uninterrupted” party this summer. She also performed for LSU basketball fans in April after the Tigers won the NCAA title. Johnson is signed with Roc Nation, and says she has high hopes for a collaboration with lyricists J. Cole and Lil Wayne.

Jayden Daniels Wins Heisman, Malik Nabers Got SNUBBED, Aneesah Morrow Dominates & TKN Wins Worlds
Jayden Daniels won the 2023 Heisman Trophy in New York on Saturday. In his Heisman speech, Daniels acknowledged both his former ASU and current LSU teammates, apologized to Tiger Nation for not bringing another National Championship to the program and told his dad that switching from cornerback to quarterback was probably the best move. How much do we think LSU Creative impacted the Heisman results? But unfortunately, Malik Nabers got robbed of the Biletnikoff Award. Marvin Harrison Jr. won the award, but there’s a lot of controversy surrounding the credibility of that decision. If Nabers 2023 stats were better than Harrison’s, why was he snubbed? Could it be because Nabers had a Heisman quarterback tossing the rock?Malik Nabers 2023 stats: 86 REC, 1,546 YDS, 14 TD, 18.0 AVGMarvin Harrison Jr. 2023 stats: 67 REC, 1,211 YDS, 14 TD, 18.1 AVGLSU Women’s Basketball beat ULL 83-53 on Sunday and remains ranked No. 7 in the AP Poll. Aneesah Morrow had another double double, and Mikayla Williams logged a career high in rebounds. Hailey Van Lith is currently out with plantar fasciitis, and Kim Mulkey says it’ll stay that way until Van Lith is healed. And in some more unfortunate news, Kateri Poole no longer with the team. The Lady Tigers will play again Tuesday night vs. McNeese at 7PM in the PMAC.LSU Men’s Basketball lost to Kansas State 75-60, logging 15 turnovers; the team averages around 14 per game. And Jordan Wright and Will Baker both had three. Offensive rebounding was also an issue for the Tigers, as they only had six the entire game. They’ll return to action in the PMAC on Wednesday, facing Alabama State at 7PM.LSU Gymnastics will kick things off with Gymnastics 101 at 4PM in the PMAC on Saturday. The team is ranked 3rd in 2024 Women’s Collegiate Gymnastics Association (WCGA) Preseason Coaches Poll, which is made up of the top-36 teams in the country. It’s the 12th straight year that the Tigers will open the season ranked in the top-10 and 27th in the top-25. The Tigers sit behind Florida and Oklahoma, who they’ll face on the road this season. LSU Facing Wisconsin In ReliaQuest Bowl, Jayden Daniels Heisman Odds + Jalen Cook Availability
LSU Football found out that they’ll be playing in the ReliaQuest bowl against Wisconsin on January 1st, 2023. The preseason favorite to win the Big Ten West, it was a bit of a disappointing Year 1 under Fickell as the Badgers finished just 7-5 and in third place in the division. Many suspected that LSU could draw Kelly’s former team in Notre Dame, but Georgia’s SEC championship game loss to Alabama put another SEC team in a New Year’s Six game and took away the possibility for the Fighting Irish to get into the ReliaQuest Bowl.Following the Pac-12 Championship in Las Vegas on Friday, the 2023 Heisman odds changed drastically. 2023 Heisman Odds - Jayden Daniels -1200 - Michael Penix Jr. +900 - Bo Nix +1500For the fourth week in a row, LSU came in at No. 7 in Monday’s AP Poll. With finals going on this week, the Tigers will not play again until Sunday when they welcome Louisiana-Lafayette to the PMAC. The Tigers currently lead the SEC in scoring (93.8 ppg), shooting percentage (.507) and turnover margin (+7.3). They also rank in the top three in a handful of other stats such as assists, steals, rebounding margin, free throw percentage and blocked shots.LSU Men’s Basketball held on for a close win over Southeastern. Coach Matt McMahon’s team escaped with a 73-66 win, but it wasn’t pretty. It trailed for much of the first half, though it pulled away to a seven-point lead at halftime. It looked like the Tigers were going to put the game away for good, leading by as much as 15 in the final 20 minutes, but they never managed to put the Lions away. After shooting 60.9% in the first half, LSU’s rate dropped to 36.4% in the second. It was also plagued by offensive sloppiness, turning it over 17 times in total and 11 in the second half. The Tigers got the win to move to 5-3, but it was far from an encouraging performance, especially with some tough games yet to come in non-conference play. Next up for LSU is a Kansas State team that is coming off an Elite Eight appearance. The Tigers will have eight days to work out the kinks before that game on Dec. 9. LSU point guard and Tulane transfer Jalen Cook — who is ineligible to play for the Tigers this season after the NCAA denied his two-time transfer waiver — is awaiting the verdict on his waiver appeal, and coach Matt McMahon is hoping the new ruling will go LSU's wayTiger Tea! Seimone Agustus has been elected to the Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame. Augustus will be inducted with two of her former WNBA teammates. Joining her in the WBHOF Class of 2024 will be Maya Moore and Taj McWilliams-Franklin who Augustus played with on the Minnesota Lynx. Augustus and Moore won WNBA titles in 2011, 2013, 2015 and 2017 together. McWilliams-Franklin was on the 2011 WNBA Championship Lynx team with Augustus and Moore. Augustus is one of only five Tigers to top the 2,000-point mark, and she ended her career with 2,702 points, the second-highest total in program history. In 140 games, Augustus and the Tigers went 121-19 and finished each season ranked among the top five teams in the nation. LSU lost back-to-back games only one time during her career, and the 121 victories stand as the most-ever for the program over a four-year span.LINK TO DONATE TO THE GREG BROOKS VICTORY FUND: https://lsusports.evenue.net/www/ev_lsu/ss/ev/DonationEntry?donationCd=GBRF&linkID=lsu&locale=en_US&siteId=ev_lsuOther Culture Media Shows: The 10 Second Runoff: https://www.youtube.com/@10secondrunoff The Up & In Show: https://www.youtube.com/@UpAndInShow Valley Vision: https://www.youtube.com/@ValleyVision Bets And Breaks: https://www.youtube.com/@BetsAndBreaksLA Small Talk And Tall Tales: https://www.youtube.com/@SmallTalkAndTallTales Culture Media: https://www.youtube.com/CultureMediaLA#JaydenDaniels #AngelReese #LSU

Mikaylah Williams BALLS Out For LSU Women’s Basketball + LSU vs. Georgia State Preview
LSU Football has their 2nd to last home game of the season this weekend against Georgia State. If Georgia State wants to keep the game close, it'll have to do so with a clock-consuming running game featuring RB Marcus Carroll and QB Darren Grainger. LSU's defense ranks 102nd in the nation against the run, allowing 172.1 yards per game. Georgia State: Carroll is No. 3 in the NCAA's top-tier Football Bowl Subdivision in rushing with 1,206 yards (120.6 per game). He is No. 7 in all-purpose yards with 138.6 per game. His 12 rushing touchdowns rank ninth. LSU: Dynamic QB Jayden Daniels positioned himself among the leading Heisman Trophy candidates against Florida last week, when he had an SEC-record 606 total yards (234 rushing, 372 passing). LSU BLOWS SEC Championship Hopes With Dysfunctional Loss + Angel Reese, WBB Kick Off Season In Vegas
LSU Football took an L in Tuscaloosa on Saturday, and all hopes of an SEC championship are out of the picture. LSU’s defense couldn’t get it together… Should the Tigers fire Matt House? And Jayden Daniels’ injury could pose problems moving forward. SEC officiating should be investigated after missing a huge targeting call on Daniels late in the game. Although all hope seems lost for Brian Kelly’s team, Jayden Daniels Heisman Odds actually went up. 2023 Heisman Odds: Michael Penix Jr +150 Bo Nix +200 Jayden Daniels +150 JJ McCarthy +600 Jordan Travis +800 Angel Reese and the LSU Tigers will kick off their season with the Hall of Fame Game in Vegas at 6:30 CT tonight. LSU Football REACTION: Jayden Daniels & Malik Nabers make statement in SEC opener vs. Mississippi St
LSU Football opened SEC play with a 41-14 win over Mississippi State in Starkville. Jayden Daniels silenced a lot of the doubters going 30 for 34 with 361 yards, posting the best completion percentage (88.2%) ever for an LSU quarterback in a game with at least 25 attempts. Malik Nabers showed the elite level that the LSU offense can reach with career highs of 13 catches for 239 yards & 2 touchdowns. And even Kaleb Jackson showed dominance with some bulldozing plays. The LSU Defense looked much more fluid and completely shut down Mississippi State quarterback Will Rogers. Even without Greg Brooks and Omar Speights, Harold Perkins Jr., Whit Weeks, Jordan Jefferson and Savion Jones got the job done, stifling MS State running back Jo'Quavious Marks, who was the SEC's leading rusher entering the Week 3 matchup.
