Casey of Memphis, Tennessee, has dedicated more than 35 years educating the public about the 19th Amendment's ratification with a book, e-book, audiobook, DVD/streaming video and public art. She is an engaging speaker on the 19th Amendment and voting rights. The year 2026 in the USA recognizes the 250 years since the Declaration of Independence was signed in 1776. The Declaration of Sentiments written by Elizabeth Cady Stanton for the 1848 Seneca Falls convention was patterned after the Declaration of Independence. Paula published the book, The Perfect 36: Tennessee Delivers Woman Suffrage, and helped produce the DVD/streaming video: "Generations: American Women Win the Vote." American women WON the right to vote (nobody GAVE it to them!) in 1920 and Canadian women won their right in 1918. It took 72 years for American women to be included in the U.S. Constitution. Her home state of Tennessee was the last state that could possibly ratify in 1920, so all American women vote today thanks to Tennessee.She co-founded the Tennessee Woman Suffrage Heritage Trail, is the current chair of the National Votes for Women Trail Committee and co-produced the podcast, "Her March to Democracy ... Stories Along the National Votes for Women Trail." Paula also helped place suffragist public art across Tennessee in Nashville, Jackson, Clarksville and Memphis.  She also discusses the lack of statuary about women and how public art gets placed. Paula is a most ideal guest because she provided pertinent, focused content and is very easy to talk to and helpful in every way. SEND US A TEXTToday's episode is my tribute to a very special person, singer, & actress who also was a cast member on the RADIOCOMEDYSHOWS.COM. When i was contracted a few years ago to interview Mike Reilly's cast members on his  RADIOCOMEDYSHOWS.COM. It was a very wonderful experience to interview Sibel Thrasher well know Vancouver Blues Singer.  I enjoyed going to hear her sing at a blues music festival in Vancouver &  to imagine having the privilege to interview this wonderful person.The world lost one of its leading song-stress-es Sibel Thrasher passed away at age 71 on April 9, 2020.  Sibel a vibrant and cherished member of The Arts Club family. Many  were touched by her amazing spirit and beautiful energy. Among her many accomplishments,  fondly remembered, for starring in the production of Ain’t Misbehavin’, which ran for two years at The Arts Club Revue Stage in the 1980s. Sibel, you will be missed. Born in Cincinnati, Ohio and raised by her mother, grandmother and grandfather  all ministers of the Baptist church. Their wonderful choir influenced the nine year old Sibel and her two little brothers to become “The Thrasher Singers”.  In 1979 she joined the world famous “Platters” on an international tour starting in Los Angeles. That tour stopped in the Orient then on to Vancouver, Canada for one month in 1981, during which Sibel fell in love – with Vancouver. Eventually Sibel moved to Vancouver and continued pursuing a solo career. In 1984 she auditioned and won the perfect role in Fats Waller’s musical “Ain’t Misbehavin'” which turned out to be a smash hit. Scheduled to run for six weeks, this brilliant show ran two years!Sibel was also nominated for Best Gospel Singer of The Year in 1994. Sibel has recorded with artists such as Long John Baldry, Donna Summers and Etta James. Greatly influenced by the great jazz sounds of Sarah Vaughan, the smooth sexy singing of Dinah Washington and Brook Benton, the dynamic sounds of Ella Fitzgerald and, of course, the strong & inspirational sounds of Billie Holiday.Sibel won many awards during her career and she was inducted into the B.C. Entertainment Hall of Fame in 2004.  Sibel was an absolute pleasure to work with @ RADIOCOMEDYSHOWS.COM  loved by all the cast and crew. She loved to come to rehearsals and taking great delight in the special character roles that Mike Reilly wrote for her. The only thing bigger than Sibel’s voice was her heart. At the volunteer appreciation dinner Phil Sacco won my donated free podcast interview. His focus is on the GREAT importance of MEN' MENTAL Health.Phil knows the importance of good mental as he attends Dark Horse  Men’s group which belongs to the ManKind Project facilitated by Cory Bretz. Phil was married for 13 years & divorced in July 2020. The divorce led him down a path of depression that understandably resulted in suicidal thoughts  in Dec 2023/Jan2024. Phil is diligent in taking care of his mental health & reaching out to care & support others in their struggles with depression & anxiety. Being involved in the Men's group with Cory in the Mankind project provides many opportunities for him to be empathetic with other men.Phil works at BC Ferries in the Supply Chain as a Technical Store person for the past 8 years. Previously he was a  HVAC Technician which is Heating ,Ventilation & Air conditioning systems at  Airstream Heating and Air Conditioning for 15 months.He attended a spiritual sound bath in early 2024 where through meditation, the message given to him was he mattered, was loved and had a message to share with others who were suffering. Since then he attended more sound baths where that message was deeply affirmed.He believes a higher power is at work in his life which I 100% AFFIRM. Previously  for many years Phil wondered about his purpose in this life.  Through tremendous heartbreak, he  now feels  lots of love to give to this world. It is his time to make his impact, by advocating for Men’s Mental Health. I have known Bonnie for many years. First meeting ....Bonnie proudly opened the Oregon and Washington territory for Nature’s Best, a leading wholesaler. In April I rec'd an uplifting & encouraging message from Eric Swagart from Perris California , Southern California Entrepreneur of the Year (2018)! The message he left really surprised me "your message ...."   I did not know i was going to have those 3 months when i was in February to April. I simply was diligent with all my details,  It has taken quite  awhile to write this on success as it seemed to be very difficult to attain, success.  Focusing on helping others by promoting them with in depth interviews then i was realizing there are pockets of success coming my way especially in May this year. So much so that there were people in business messaging to request to come on as guests on my podcast. A local SEO expert right here in Vancouver became another expert guest. Leesa was great to work with providing business focus & expertise for success. Really enjoyed interviewing Michael from the exciting city of LAS VEGAS my favourite vacation destination. His story of driving limousine in Vegas & celebrities he meets like Jerry Seinfeld. For 12 years  a start-up based in Salt Lake City, a clothier who owns a production facility in Bangkok, a sole-proprietor based in Southern California, a high profile retail store on Las Vegas Blvd and for the past 6 years owns his company called Sin City Custom Suits. Michael Steph-anski is a very talented Owner and Stylist in Customer Service & Fashion Design. Michael has  created clothes for some of Las Vegas' most notable attorneys, executives for The Vegas Golden Knights and three friends  getting married along with their grooms' parties.Initially becoming involved in custom clothing purely by chance &  learning how valuable his services are. Contacted recently by the wife of a potential client who was extremely tall and equally as big around. This man  never able to purchase off the rack dress clothes. Very hesitant at his first appointment. Michael used the gift of humour by the line that being more intimate than most men care to be because of the need to measure, becoming more relaxed and rather enjoyed selecting fabrics though the actual measuring part was still neither one of our favourite parts. The suits needed some minor alterations as is common with first time clients. At the final appointment when he was coming out of his bedroom so his wife could see the clothes on him, she  cried. She expressed 'thank you' and 'you look so good' through her tears. That's when Michael knew he had a calling rather than just a vocation. He is so talented & a person who loves what he does, his great skill. experience & expertise in creating custom made suits.His beginnings were not promising spending 5 days in Salt Lake City in training, handed a briefcase filled with fabric swatches, a measuring tape and order sheets and wished great success in Las Vegas.  We will deeply dive into Michael's success story. Interviewing is fun & includes a lot of spontaneity.  That is why in the pre interview I never tell the guest what the exact questions are. What I do is go over the areas of questions,  ... to cover everything in the pre-interview so that they are totally comfortable & relaxed in the interview. It is simply a conversation. It is so easy because I have had success in removing background noises... SEND US A TEXTWHY, WHEN, & HOW. The vocal warm up helps to loosen the cords & effectively gets ready for.... project. Going through my range & waking up the different parts of my voice. Warming up also minimizes my mistakes.When? In the morning. I have found these warm ups helpful: panting exercise, high & then low with my voice, standing in front of the mirror stretching my tongue to the left then the right. Then loosening my body up by jumping up and down with lots of energy & finishing with The P exercise, peter piper picked a  peck of pickled peppers 10 times & getting faster each time. Annunciating clearly on each P. 7 warm up exercises to include in your routine. I will often refer to resonance. It is defined as: the quality in a sound of being deep, full, and reverberating."the resonance of his voice" 1.Lip Rolls/Lip Trills  For the Lip roll keep your mouth closed & make a B sound while keeping a constant flow of air. It will cause your lips to quickly vibrate creating the roll or trill sound.Begin by doing the exercise on a single straight pitch in your speaking range & when comfortable move through your vocal range starting from very high down to very low & your voice will warm up. 2Tongue  Trills Similar to the LIP Rolls but the vibration is caused in your tongue instead of your lips. Being with your mouth in a neutral position, slightly open & make a D or G Keep a constant breath flow & feel the tongue tip vibrating against the roof of your mouth. 3“M” Sound is a good way to activate resonance in the front of the mouth & face. Make an M sound with your mouth closed & use constant breath flow. To keep the sound full  & consistent without  drastic changes in volume & intensity.  Hold the sound for a few seconds on a single pitch. 4“N” Sound Keep upper mouth closed & in neutral position, make a “N” sound & . You likely will feel your tongue  touching the roof of your mouth.5“L” Sound activates some resonance a little further back in your head & throat ...you will feel vibration in the head & throat. Allow your tongue to gently press against the back of your top teeth & slightly open your mouth. 6“Z” Sound ...activating resonance in the front of the mouth & face. Using a more open sound than the previous exercises.  Close your teeth but do not clench them & slightly open your mouth7“NG” Sound  is a great way to activate your nasal resonance. You will feel vibration in your nose & sinus areas.  Focus on the NG sound & you can use a variety of different vowel sounds in front of the NG. Vocal warm ups are an excellent way to activate the various voice registers, resonances, & tones, of your voice & create flexibility & comfort. Along with 2 radio commercials I voiced & produced at The Giant. I began there as the over night announcer back in late August 2000. One day i was informed by the station manager that Robin Pinto Penticton’s female boxer, her Manager Peter Holt would be calling. Robin would be on the boxing card in Laughlin Nevada & I would interview Peter Holt live on-air that day. Later the interview would air via the news department’s Dennis Walker from my interview & production. My love of interviewing began when I was at BCIT. In the 2nd year of the BCIT program BROADCAST Communications with The Radio Option. The students took over the radio station CFML & worked all positions. SEND US A TEXTMy recent travel experience to the USA for the Blue Jays & M's...We started planning in January...  Kelly has good experience going .. M’s game in Seattle. The most difficult part of prep was getting ready to be at Pacific Station in downtown Vancouver ...  at 5:35 AM & because of my good friend Ben giving a lift I made it with time to spare. Customs at Pacific Station was smooth...The Amtrak...positive experience. ... We arrived in plenty of time for the game at 1 PM at T-mobile park...Gausman was pitching an excellent game ...6 innings with 9 strikeouts & no walks. But in the 3rd... & Vlady JR is my fav Jay. I was hoping he would hit a HR ...Jays were up 7-4 in the 7th & in the bottom of the 7th the jay’s bull pen let them down... Pearson hit a batter  on his first pitch. ... it was 9-7 for the M’s after 7.  The Jays ...Kirk had a great day with 4 singles & got one on the 9th. The drama was building in the 9th...FINAL score m’s9- Jays 8. It was close all the way...The toughest part of the trip was after the game...Kelly booked a yellow cab...Then we saw the cab coming our way & we both had our arms up hailing it. We saw the # on the cab & yes...The train was delayed  15 minutes. When i looked at my watch i thought it stopped 7:08 pm We left Seattle at 7:16 PM... Vancouver at 11:30 PM. They make an announcement & open the doors.. .What a relief  to get on skytrain yet another longer wait  because of the fireworks.Kelly was aware of my difficulty walking & very helpful & caring suggesting to have a stop as there were seats. Kelly was amazing as he knows his way around Seattle though frustrated & it was so hot must been 90 degrees Fahrenheit. There were large crowds for the Taylor Swift concert that we made our way through & mostly beautiful young women dressed to party with Taylor Swift. The good experience was possible because of great preparation, Ben’s lift as no public transport was available so early in the AM & Kelly’s awesome direction & experience . SEND US A TEXTGreater detail of the importance of sound in how my recording set up is arranged & all the steps.  When there are technical concerns or challenges it does throw off the focus for voicing ,now is the set up that is ready for auditioning, recording a voice-over project, or podcast episode.   My recording system is on my Mac, it is GARAGE Band. Open Garage Band looking for my podcast template. Already has my intro. Firstly in the GB settings i will click on AUDI/MIDI & make sure output device is on External Headphones & input device is on krisp mic. The black apple ... very top of my Mac far left hand corner. Click on system settings to see the sound output is on  External Headphones ... Sound is controlled  by the Behringer audio interface &converts microphone  signals into a format my mac and recording system software recognizes. The interface also routes audio from my mac out to my speakers and recording system. Check the recording settings   0 dB means that you are right at the threshold of human hearing. A positive dB means that the sound is a few times louder than the threshold, while a negative dB means that you are a few times softer than that threshold.  Hearing threshold is the sound level below...Bottom half of GB to the far left in the recording settings. Below recording settings you will see record level. Check  the volume... At the top of that lower 1/2 u will see buttons of Track, Master, & Compare. Track & Compare will show as Blue Buttons now click on Master & it will show as a blue button & to the far right you will see blue buttons of EFFECTS, OUTPUT , & EQ,  make sure all those switches are off so there is no echo. When u click on EQ be sure that the line is flat with no variations.Up to the top left hand corner & click on the scissors, the wave form of sound  & being able edit. We can do a sound test  to make sure the wave form is large enough  & shows in green at the top left where you set the volume button  for reasonable volume at minus 0.1DB.Offer to you  25%  off my regular recording fee  email to [email protected] & in the subject line VOICE POWER. SEND US A TEXTDescribe what makes good sound for a voice-over audition....  My set up is key: where my Mac book pro is placed...Then with ease the script is voiced with close proximity to my MXL770 Mic. When recording my speakers are turned off to avoid.... Placed over the Mic is the windsock to insure there are no problems with creating plosive sounds such as popping p’s .... Previous place i was gifted with a vocal booth. In order to achieve the best vocal recording, it is necessary to have as much control over the area surrounding the microphone.... .Better still, if you can prevent any noise from outside from entering into the recording, you will be in great shape to record that perfect vocal. This is where the vocal booth comes in. By googling how to create a vocal booth you will find Designing a Vocal Booth - Primacoustic.Next to my building a demolition ...  When it was demolished next they were building the foundation of the new building. When I shared my recording dilemma in a networking group ...Tony Tsao, Director & Service Manager for Purplo Consulting  solved the problem by sharing the app. It is just over 2 years ago that he shared the link for the KRISP App. I tested it for the inside noise & was delighted that the test was perfect there was no inside noise on my audio on the mp3.
