Tony Sanborn is a current serving K9 handler with the Scottsdale Police Department in Arizona. He is also the President of the Arizona Law Enforcement Canine Association (ALECA), an organisation obsesses with empowering its members to be better police officers and K9 handlers. Tony started life with exposure to violence and insecurity, with his father being a Vietnam War Veteran, suffering from the effects of PTSD. Josh Bailey started life rough, living with violence from his Step-Father, to being removed from custody, living in a family refuge centre and eventually being placed in the care of his Grandparents. He also lived a life of service, from the 1st Commando Regiment, Air Marshalls, Protective Services, Australian Federal Police and the Australian Army. His career with the Federal Police came to an end after a saga of administrative, legal and personal circumstances that resulted from an on duty car crash which left him with PTSD, and a fight against the organisation that was meant to have his back. Josh now studies psychology and helps other people who also serve as he has, and provided guidance and perspective about the inherent struggles with service based organisations. Jason Semple served in the NSW Police force for 2 weeks before almost losing his life in a stabbing attack that took the life of his partner, Peter Forsyth. Jason then went on to serve more years as a beat cop, before being selected for the elite Tactical Operations Unit, where he served with distinction before undertaking contracting in Iraq at the height of the conflict. Upon return, he was recruited for the Australian Federal Police (AFP) ORG, an emerging unit for service overseas. It was here that Jason made his name as a sniper, a skill he has maintained ever since. Shane is a former member of the Victoria Police. He spent time on the road as a general duties officer before moving into the elite Special Operations Group (SOG), a unit dedicated to Counter Terrorism. Colton is a former United States Marine Corp K9 handler. Paul Warren is a former Australian Infantry soldier who was deployed to and subsequently wounded in Afghanistan in 2009. John Devine is a former US Navy SEAL, the US Navy’s special forces direct action unit. John has multiple deployments to warzones both in a direct combat capability as well as advising host nation forces in their fight against terrorism. After his first deployment John was trained as a K9 handler where he went on to complete more deployments to Afghanistan against the Taliban. Mia Skogster is an elite international IGP dog sport competitor from Finland. She has been in the sport since her mid teens and has won multiple world titles competing against the best in the industry, including Ivan Balanaov. Benny Olson was a Direct Support K9 handler for the Tier 1 Navy SEAL team, the Naval Special Warfare Development Group. He deployed multiple times to Iraq and Afghanistan during the GWOT with various K9s on direct action missions. Most of his deployments occurred AFTER he was blown up on a target in Iraq that killed another of his comrades and left him severely injured. Josh is a veteran of the Canadian Armed Forces. He went from being an infantry soldier, stood up the Canadian Special Operations Regiment (CSOR) in it's early days and eventually screened for the tier 1 unit, JTF2. Josh has deployed multiple times to Afghanistan and Iraq as well as Africa. He deployed top Iraq in the fight against ISIS twice as a K9 handler before retiring into civilian life. The first woman to be on the Origin K9 Podcast! Tara Burke is a former Soldier, Coast Guard Reservist and Police K9 handler. She has deployed multiple times to the Middle East and served her community on the front lines of policing. After her Police career came to an end, Tara began training dogs with Ridgeside K9 where she remains working today. We cover a range of topics and Tara has an interesting story. Bob Richards deployed to the Vietnam War twice. On his first deployment Bob was wounded with 7 RAR, he was then posted to Kapooka as an instructor and he deployed again to Vietnam with 3 RAR. Bob is a man who is passionate about helping other veterans. Chris Ramirez is a former 82nd Airborne Regiment Soldier from the US Army. He has deployed multiple times with that unit on short notice.
