98 | Zachary Martin, CPT | This Isn't My Job, It's My Life: Strength, Longevity & What Two Decades in the Gym Teaches You

This week we sat down with someone who's been a big part of our world over the last year... Zachary Martin, certified personal trainer and owner of ZM Fitness, who has been in the game for nearly two decades and shows absolutely no signs of slowing down.Zach grew up as an only child with a health-conscious single mom who showed him early on that movement matters. From watching trainers at the gym as a teenager and quietly studying their every move, to building a full training practice over 19 years in Minneapolis — this episode is a masterclass in what happens when you find the thing you love and just keep showing up for it.We talk about what it actually takes to last in the personal training industry, why strength training is the foundation of everything (yes, everything), and how Zach thinks about programming differently now than he did 15 years ago. He gets honest about the emotional weight of the job — the clients who feel like family, the sessions that hit different, and the irrational fear that everyone will cancel on you at once. We also dig into what it means to practice what you preach, why rest between sets matters more than you think, and how becoming a dad at 39 completely rewired his relationship with movement, longevity, and why he does any of this at all. This one is full of perspective shifts, real talk, and the kind of passion that makes you want to go pick up something heavy.*****Keep up with Zachary Martin!Instagram: @mplstrainerWebsite:  ZM Fitness*****Follow us on Instagram:@weget2dothispodEmail us questions/comments at:[email protected]Check out the video portion of our show at:https://www.youtube.com/@weget2dothisFor business information hit up the links below:Dr. Kailee Acupuncture Website Oak Endurance WebsiteReviews go SUCH A LONG WAY and it would mean the world to us if you took a second out of your busy life to leave one :)Spotify: follow the show, tap the three dots near the podcast title, then tap rate showApple Podcasts: follow the show, scroll to the bottom to Ratings and Reviews, then leave stars or write a reviewYouTube: subscribe and drop a comment on the episodeThank you for being here.We Get 2 Do This!

97c | "I Did It For Me." — Inside a GMAS Post Race Call w/ Luana Ciccarelli (Part 3 of 3)

Three episodes. One journey. This is the finale.Throughout this call I share my screen and give a real inside look at TrainingPeaks — the app I use to build and manage all of my athletes' training plans. We reference specific workouts and the training calendar directly, which you can only see if you're watching. Audio listeners will still get everything, but if you want the full picture head over to our YouTube channel at youtube.com/@weget2dothis or watch on Spotify. You've heard about run coaching calls before — way back in Episode 12 we did a fly-on-the-wall style call with athlete David. Well, we're doing it again, and this time we're taking it even further. This is it. Part 3 of 3. The finale of our series following Oak Endurance athlete Luana Ciccarelli through her full Grandma's Marathon 2026 journey. If you haven't listened to 97a and 97b yet, go back and start there. The series was intended to showcase what run coaching calls with myself (Coach Jacob) and an Oak Endurance Athlete are like! :-) Luana went in with a goal of sub-4:15. Her PR was 4:19:32. She crossed the finish line at 4:13:55. A six minute PR!!! And this is the full breakdown of how it happened. In this episode we go through the entire race, mile by mile. What the morning felt like, how she executed the pacing plan we built in 97b, the mental tricks that got her through the hard miles, what it felt like to cross the finish line, and what the days after a big goal actually feel like when the dust settles. We also talk about what it means to do something truly for yourself, why post-race blues are more real than people admit, and what has made this training block different from every one before it.This one was worth the wait. This call is specific to Luana and her current training cycle. Every coaching call looks a little different depending on the athlete and their goals. Interested in working with me at Oak Endurance? 97b | What Story Do You Want to Tell? Inside a Run Coaching Call w/Luana Part 2 of 3: RACE WEEK

Throughout this call I share my screen and give a real inside look at TrainingPeaks — the app I use to build and manage all of my athletes' training plans. This is Part 2 of a three-part series following my athlete Luana Ciccarelli through her build, race week, and post-race recap for Grandma's Marathon 2026. If you haven't listened to 97a yet, go back and start there — it'll make this one better. This call was recorded 48 hours before race day. The training is done. The hay is in the barn. Now it's about showing up with a plan and the right mindset to execute it.In this episode we get into the actual race plan — mile by mile pacing strategy, goal setting broken down into process goals and outcome goals, and the mental game that gets you through the hard miles. We talk about Lemon Drop Hill at mile 22, why miles 15 to 22 are the real fight, mantras that actually work when it gets dark out there, fueling strategy, and why you should probably look up from the ground every once in a while during a marathon.Luana is going for her first sub-4:15. She's done this 18 times before. This time she wants to finish knowing she didn't hold back and pushed as hard as she was supposed to when she was supposed to.She is more ready than she knows. Part 3 is the post-race recap. See you on the other side! This call is specific to Luana and her current training cycle. 97a | Inside a Run Coaching Call w/Luana: Luana's Road to Grandma's Marathon 2026 (Part 1 of 3) THE BUILD

Throughout this call I share my screen and give a real inside look at TrainingPeaks — the app I use to build and manage all of my athletes' training plans. We reference specific workouts and the training calendar directly, which you can only see if you're watching. Audio listeners will still get everything, but if you want the full picture head over to our YouTube channel at youtube.com/@weget2dothisYou've heard about run coaching calls before — way back in Episode 12 we did a fly-on-the-wall style call with athlete David. Well, we're doing it again, and this time we're taking it even further. This is Part 1 of a three-part series following my athlete Luana Ciccarelli through her full build, race week, and post-race recap for Grandma's Marathon 2026. What you're hearing is a real maintenance/pre-race coaching call — no script, no edits, just me and Luana five weeks out from race day.I'm Coach Jacob Oak of Oak Endurance — a Minneapolis-based endurance coaching company offering run coaching, strength training, and one-on-one athlete support. Luana has been an Oak Endurance athlete for about four years — working with me on both run coaching and strength — and this series is a real, unfiltered look at what that relationship and process actually looks like.Luana is 49 years old and Grandma's will be somewhere around her 19th or 20th marathon. She works a full-time desk job, she's a mom, she's been sober for 16 years, and she might be in the best shape of her running life right now.In this call we get into the physical stuff — training blocks, peak mileage, fueling, plantar fasciitis, and race pace strategy for a sub-4:15 goal. But we also go deep on the mental side of endurance sports: the psychology of control, what happens when your identity gets wrapped up in a race result, and how to actually build a healthy long-term relationship with running.Part 2 is race week. Part 3 is the full recap. Come back for all of it.This call is specific to Luana and her current training cycle. Every coaching call looks a little different depending on the athlete and their goals. 95 | Dr. Spencer Lindholm | "Pain Is the Last Thing to Arrive & the First Thing to Go"

This week we headed down to Eden Prairie, Minnesota to sit down with Dr. Spencer Lindholm, sports chiropractor and owner of Great North Athletics — and honestly, the gym space alone was worth the trip. Spencer has over a decade of experience in sports injury, rehabilitation, and performance training, and he's built his practice around one core belief: if you have a body, you're an athlete, and movement is medicine. In this episode, we get into what personalized, whole-person care actually looks like in practice — and why the traditional model of rushing people in and out the door just doesn't cut it when you're trying to figure out why someone keeps getting hurt. Spencer breaks down the most common running form issues he sees (hint: your posterior chain is probably not working as hard as you think it is), why load management errors are behind the majority of training-related injuries, and how he thinks about gait retraining without throwing your whole training plan out the window. We also talk about the real cost of skipping the basics — sleep, hydration, stress — and how no amount of red light therapy or cold plunging is going to save you if your foundation is cracked. Spencer is refreshingly direct about all of it, and brings the kind of nerdy, puzzle-solving energy that makes you want to go get a full movement assessment immediately.Whether you're a runner dealing with a nagging injury, someone who's been told "just don't do that anymore," or a practitioner trying to do better for your patients — this one is worth your time.*****Keep up with Spencer and Great North Athletics:Instagram: @greatnorthathleticsWebsite: Great North Athletics*****Follow us on Instagram:@weget2dothispodEmail us questions/comments at:[email protected]Check out the video portion of our show at:https://www.youtube.com/@weget2dothisFor business information hit up the links below:Dr.

93 | Tiffany Farrar, LPCC | Who Are You Outside of Your Sport? Identity, Resilience & Mental Performance

This week we sat down with Tiffany Farrar, Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor and Founder of Confluence Counseling in St. Paul, MN — and someone who brings a rare combination of clinical mental health expertise and a deep love for sport. Tiffany works with individual athletes, collegiate teams, and everyday people navigating the messy intersection of performance and mental wellness. In this episode, we dig into what it really means to build mental toughness — not just grit your teeth through hard things, but actually train your mind the way you train your body. We talk about the danger of tying your whole identity to one sport or activity, and why knowing who you are outside of your sport might be the most important thing you can do before an injury ever happens. We also get into the science behind suppressed emotions and how they show up in the body, why Tiffany thinks "lazy" is a lazy word, and what an approach mindset actually looks like in the middle of a brutal 400-meter repeat.Tiffany also gets personal, sharing her own experience with cancer and broken feet — and what rebuilding looked like on the other side. Rather than glossing over the hard parts, she talks about what it took to stop comparing her comeback to who she used to be, sit with the grief of lost time, and eventually find genuine excitement in showing up again. Her story is proof that the tools she teaches aren't just clinical — they're lived.Whether you're an athlete, a coach, or just someone trying to get out of their own head, this one is packed with practical tools and honest conversation.Keep up with Tiffany:Website: https://www.confluencecounseling.com/*****Follow us on Instagram:@weget2dothispodEmail us questions/comments at:[email protected]Check out the video portion of our show at:https://www.youtube.com/@weget2dothisFor business information hit up the links below:Dr.

91 | Timothy Borowski | Unlocking What’s Stuck: Health, Stress, and the Patterns We Don’t See

This episode hits a little different. We sit down with Tim Borowski, naturopath, wellness entrepreneur, and founder of Axon Movement, for a conversation that goes way beyond surface-level health advice.Tim’s work is centered around one idea:finding and unlocking what is stuck.Whether that’s chronic pain, long-standing health issues, or patterns in the nervous system that haven’t responded to anything else, Tim takes a systems-based approach to uncover root causes and create real change. We dive into:Why so many people feel like they’ve “tried everything” but still aren’t getting betterThe role of the nervous system in performance, stress, and recoveryWhy fixing symptoms isn’t always the same as solving the problemThe connection between mindset, physiology, and daily lifeWhat “health” actually means and if there’s even a clear answerWe also get into the gray areas of health. The stuff that isn’t always black and white. Where science, experience, intuition, and individuality all overlap. This conversation moves from practical to philosophical in the best way. It is one of those episodes that makes you pause, reflect, and maybe even question some of the things you’ve always believed about training, recovery, and what it means to actually feel good. Not just how you’re training… but how you’re living. And maybe more importantly, how it all feels right now.Keep up with Timothy:Instagram: @axon_movementWebsite: https://www.axon-movement.com/*****Follow us on Instagram:@weget2dothispodEmail us questions/comments at:[email protected]Check out the video portion of our show at:https://www.youtube.com/@weget2dothisFor business information hit up the links below:Dr.

Brooke has spent over a decade helping athletes of all levels dial in their nutrition and hydration, from first-timers to finishers at Kona, Leadville, and beyond. We get into what "optimized hydration" actually means (hint: it's not just drinking more water), why sodium is the electrolyte that matters most during long efforts, and how wildly different sweat losses can be from person to person — we're talking anywhere from 200 to 2,600 milligrams of sodium lost per hour. Brooke walks us through the gold-standard sweat composition test she offers through Precision Hydration, how sweat rate and sweat saltiness are two totally separate variables, and why sodium citrate is the form you want in your sports nutrition products. We also cover GI distress on race day, the risks of both under- and over-replacing electrolytes, how to adjust your hydration plan for heat and humidity, and whether you need to sodium-load before a big race. Brooke even shares her most memorable "we get to do this" moment — jumping off a ferry into the Norwegian fjords at the start of the Norseman Xtreme Ironman.Whether you're training for your first triathlon or your next 100-miler, this episode is packed with practical, science-backed insights you can put to use immediately.Keep up with Brooke:Instagram: @gritsportsnutritionWebsite: gritsportsnutrition.com*****Follow us on Instagram:@weget2dothispodEmail us questions/comments at:[email protected]Check out the video portion of our show at:https://www.youtube.com/@weget2dothisFor business information hit up the links below:Dr. Kailee Acupuncture Website Oak Endurance WebsiteReviews go SUCH A LONG WAY and it would mean the world to us if you took a second out of your busy life to leave one :)Spotify: follow the show, tap the three dots near the podcast title, then tap rate showApple Podcasts: follow the show, scroll to the bottom to Ratings and Reviews, then leave stars or write a reviewYouTube: subscribe and drop a comment on the episodeThank you for being here. 86 | Lisa Radzak | Body Image, Eating Disorders, Raising Resilient Kids & What Every Parent and Coach Should Know

This episode covers sensitive topics including body image, body dissatisfaction, disordered eating, and eating disorders. We share these conversations with care and intention, but please be mindful of where you're at as you listen. You know yourself best. Please note that this podcast is not a substitute for professional advice or treatment, and Jacob and Kailee are not licensed mental health providers. If you or someone you love needs support, resources are linked below.*****In episode 86, Jacob and Kailee sit down with Lisa Radzak, Executive Director of WithAll, a nonprofit dedicated to preventing eating disorders by reaching people early — long before patterns have a chance to take hold.Lisa opens up about her own journey, from some of her earliest memories being tied to how her body looked, through years of body dissatisfaction and disordered eating, to eventually being diagnosed with bulimia nervosa just before law school. Her path to recovery — and the privilege she recognized in having access to it — is what ultimately led her to dedicate her career to making sure other people, especially kids, don't have to travel that road at all.The conversation covers a lot of ground, including:The difference between body dissatisfaction, disordered eating, and a clinical eating disorderWhy you can never tell if someone has an eating disorder just by looking at themThe warning signs every coach, parent, and healthcare provider should knowHow to approach someone you're worried about without shutting them downThe four simple principles for raising kids with a healthy relationship with food and their bodiesWhy we should never tie food or exercise to appearance — and what to say insteadWhat to do if you're concerned about someone and where to find real helpLisa also shares why the prevention side of this work is so powerful, what it looks like to build awareness at the community level, and why the most impactful thing you can do for a kid might just be letting them move and never commenting on their body at all. This one is for every parent, coach, athlete, and human who has ever carried an old comment about their body a little longer than they should have — and wants to make sure the next generation doesn't have to.Resources from today's episode:WithAll WebsiteFREE What to Say Coaches Certification  Education program for coaches to know how to help with eating disorder prevention, identification of eating disorder warning signs, and what to say/to when concerned.Live Brave 5k & 1 mile to benefit WithAll (form a team!) Eating Disorder Myths & Warning Signs //What to Do When Concerned//Get Help Now (including NCEED and FindEDHelp resources)WithAll’s Recovery Support Program – financial grants to help with housing/groceries while in intensive treatment*****Follow us on Instagram:@weget2dothispodEmail us questions/comments at:[email protected]Check out the video portion of our show at:https://www.youtube.com/@weget2dothisFor business information hit up the links below:Dr. 85 | Run Through It or Rest? The Honest Guide to Injury vs. Soreness

We break down one of the most common dilemmas every runner faces — is it soreness or is it an injury? In this episode, we get personal about our own injury histories, share practical tools like the single-leg hop test and a pain scale reality check, and walk through the red flags that mean it's time to stop pushing. Because running smarter isn't just about the miles — it's about knowing when to rest, recover, and show back up.Bonus blog post on this topic here!*****If this episode brought you any comfort, perspective, or energy, we would be so grateful if you took a moment to support the show.Check out the new site: weget2dothis.comReviews go SUCH A LONG WAY and it would mean the world to us if you took a second out of your busy life to leave one :)Spotify: follow the show, tap the three dots near the podcast title, then tap rate showApple Podcasts: follow the show, scroll to the bottom to Ratings and Reviews, then leave stars or write a reviewYouTube: subscribe and drop a comment on the episodeThank you for being here :-)*****Follow us on Instagram:@weget2dothispodEmail us questions/comments at:[email protected]Check out the video portion of our show at:https://www.youtube.com/@weget2dothisFor business information hit up the links below:Dr. Kailee Acupuncture Website Oak Endurance WebsiteWe Get 2 Do This!

84 | WHAT Do You Put Your Trust In? A Roundtable with Taylor Thomas & Christine Hernandez

In episode 84, Kailee and Jacob sit down with Growth Circle co-founders Taylor Thomas and Christine Hernandez for their first-ever four-person roundtable. The conversation goes deep, covering where real passion comes from (hint: it's not waiting around for it), the high performer's dilemma of staying present while always chasing the next goal, and what it actually means to grow.Taylor breaks down why passion follows movement, not the other way around, and why the 1% better every day narrative doesn't hold up in real life. Christine opens up about turning her most personal challenges into fuel, learning to redirect her fiery nature through the Enneagram, and the difference between driving for enough versus driving from enough. Together, they challenge the idea that growth is a straight diagonal line, and make a case for celebrating small wins, sitting in seasons of friction, and trusting the process even when the finish line feels far away. The conversation closes with Christine turning the tables and asking Kailee and Jacob one of the most disarming questions you can ask a high performer: "What do you think you are putting your trust in right now?" Not do you trust, but what. Their honest answers reveal a lot about what abundance actually looks like when you strip away the hustle, and might just have you pausing to ask yourself the very same thing.Whether you're an entrepreneur, an athlete, or just someone trying to stop white-knuckling their way through life, this one will have you asking better questions of yourself long after it ends.Keep up with Christine and Taylor:Christine Instagram: @boldleadercoTaylor Instagram: @taylor.j.thomasGrowth Circle Website: https://www.thomasendurancecoaching.com/growth-circle/Impact Initiative Website: https://www.impactinitiative.network/*****Follow us on Instagram:@weget2dothispodEmail us questions/comments at:[email protected]Check out the video portion of our show at:https://www.youtube.com/@weget2dothisFor business information hit up the links below:Dr. 83 | Spring BEWARE: Too Much Too Soon Too Quick

Spring is officially here, and while the warmer weather and longer days have us all itching to get outside and run, this time of year is actually the most popular season for running injuries, with March seeing more than twice as many doctor visits compared to other months. In this episode, we break down why the spring transition is so risky and how to make it through to race season healthy and strong. We cover the two biggest traps runners fall into: trying to make up for a low-mileage winter by ramping up too fast, and assuming that treadmill miles translate directly to road miles. Jacob shares his go-to recommendation for easing back outside with a 50/50 treadmill-to-road split before going full outdoor. We also talk about why dropping strength training once the weather gets nice is one of the most common mistakes we see, and how just one to two days a week in the weight room can keep you durable all season long.Kailee brings in some Traditional Chinese Medicine wisdom too. In TCM, spring is liver season, and the liver governs your tendons, which helps explain why Achilles issues, plantar fasciitis, and other connective tissue injuries spike this time of year. She also shares some simple food and lifestyle tips to support your body through the seasonal shift. We wrap up with some exciting announcements, including a group run on April 4th with giveaways for Grandma's Marathon entries for both 2026 and 2027!*****If this episode brought you any comfort, perspective, or energy, we would be so grateful if you took a moment to support the show.Check out the new site: weget2dothis.comReviews go SUCH A LONG WAY and it would mean the world to us if you took a second out of your busy life to leave one :)Spotify: follow the show, tap the three dots near the podcast title, then tap rate showApple Podcasts: follow the show, scroll to the bottom to Ratings and Reviews, then leave stars or write a reviewYouTube: subscribe and drop a comment on the episodeThank you for being here :-)*****Follow us on Instagram:@weget2dothispodEmail us questions/comments at:[email protected]Check out the video portion of our show at:https://www.youtube.com/@weget2dothisFor business information hit up the links below:Dr. Kailee Acupuncture Website Oak Endurance WebsiteWe Get 2 Do This!

77 | The Chaos Coordinator Behind Kuvetta: Building a Small Brand That Lasts w/ Abby Drach

In this episode, Jacob and Kailee sit down in person with Abby Drach, founder of Kuvetta Athletic, a women’s athletic apparel brand built for strong bodies and endurance sport.Abby shares how Kuvetta came to life from a vision she had at a young age and how her background as a Nordic skier at Dartmouth shaped the way she designs apparel. She talks about creating pieces that actually move with muscles, fit powerful legs and shoulders, and still let women express style through bold prints, florals, and personality. You will hear the real behind the scenes of building a small business from scratch, including Abby’s early days sewing over 2,000 face masks during COVID, making thousands of pieces on a home sewing machine, and eventually expanding into a network of US based contract sewers to keep production local. She opens up about slow growth, what marketing wins actually do and do not change overnight, what it was like having a pop up storefront in Boulder, and why in person connection has been one of the biggest drivers of the brand. The conversation also gets honest about entrepreneurship and identity, especially the pressure to keep chasing the next milestone, how hard it is to let the wins sink in, and how one negative review can stick even when you are surrounded by supportive customers. Abby and the crew talk about patience, defining success for yourself, and why you do not need a viral moment to have a meaningful and sustainable business.Whether you are an athlete, a founder, or someone in the messy middle of building something you care about, this episode is a reminder that community matters, the work compounds, and grit can still look like grace. We get to do this.Kuvetta WebsiteKuvetta InstagramAbby Drach InstagramFollow us on Instagram:@weget2dothispodEmail us questions/comments at:[email protected]Check out the video portion of our show at:https://www.youtube.com/@weget2dothisFor business information hit up the links below:Dr. Kailee Acupuncture Website Oak Endurance WebsiteLASTLY -> If you enjoyed the show, please like, comment, subscribe and consider giving us a 5-star review wherever you listen or watch :-)We Get 2 Do This!

76 | When the Coach Gets Coached (02): Sickness, Doubt, and Keeping the Door Open

In Part 2 of When the Coach Gets Coached, Jacob sits down with his coach, Matt Welch, at one of the hardest points of a training cycle right after illness and right before a decision. What starts as a simple training update turns into a deep and honest conversation about sickness, burnout, motivation, and the emotional weight that comes with chasing big goals. Jacob opens up about feeling deflated, questioning whether he even wants to race, and wrestling with the fear of letting his coach down. Matt brings perspective from the coaching side, reminding Jacob that fitness is not fragile, progress is not wasted, and that setbacks do not erase the work already done.Together, they unpack fueling mistakes, winter training stress, mental resilience, and the pressure athletes put on themselves to force outcomes before life events like weddings, travel, and major transitions. Kailee joins the conversation to offer grounding perspective, reminding Jacob that this journey has been years in the making and that racing can still be a celebration, not just a result. This episode is for any athlete who has ever gotten sick at the wrong time, lost motivation mid build, or felt like they failed their coach or themselves. It is a reminder that training is rarely linear, that uncertainty is part of the process, and that sometimes the bravest move is simply keeping the door open.Matt Welch InstagramTAG InstagramMatt Welch StravaTAG WebsiteFollow us on Instagram:@weget2dothispodEmail us questions/comments at:[email protected]Check out the video portion of our show at:https://www.youtube.com/@weget2dothisFor business information hit up the links below:Dr. Kailee Acupuncture Website Oak Endurance WebsiteLASTLY -> If you enjoyed the show, please like, comment, subscribe and consider giving us a 5-star review wherever you listen or watch :-)We Get 2 Do This!

75 | The Ripple Effect of Sobriety w/Alexandra Zauner

In this episode, we sit down with Alexandra Zauner, the founder of Lucille’s Bottle Shop in St. Paul, to talk about Dry January, sober curiosity, and what it looks like to build a social life that does not revolve around alcohol.Alex has been sober for over 10 years, is a seriously impressive entrepreneur and mom, and has been featured multiple times on KARE 11 as she and her business have grown. She also previously hosted her own podcast, Creating Ripples, which became a powerful platform and grew to well over 200 episodes, built on the idea that every story can create a ripple effect and inspire those around you.Alex shares her sobriety story, what has shaped her mission, and how Lucille’s grew from pop ups and tastings into a retail space and eventually into what she is most passionate about now: mobile events and experiences that help people connect for real. We also talk about the behind the scenes reality of small business ownership, learning what actually gives you energy, and having the courage to refine your vision instead of doing a little bit of everything. We dig into the gray area that a lot of people live in: wanting to drink less while still navigating family gatherings, friendships built around drinking, and social pressure. Alex breaks down why getting clear on your why matters so much, how to approach events where alcohol is present, and why it does not have to be all or nothing. We also get into the fitness world and its relationship with alcohol, including why races and wellness spaces should be offering better NA options, and how advocacy creates change faster than we think.Alex wraps with a We Get To Do This moment that helped realign her entire business and purpose. If you are sober, sober curious, or simply craving deeper connection, this episode will meet you right where you are.If you enjoyed this episode, please follow the show, leave a five star rating, and share it with a friend who might need the reminder that you do not have to do this alone.Lucille's Bottle Shop WebsiteAlexandra Zauner InstagramAlexandra Zauner TikTokLucille's Bottle Shop InstagramLucille's Bottle Shop TikTok*********Follow us on Instagram:@weget2dothispodEmail us questions/comments at:[email protected]Check out the video portion of our show at:https://www.youtube.com/@weget2dothisFor business information hit up the links below:Dr. Kailee Acupuncture Website Oak Endurance WebsiteLASTLY -> If you enjoyed the show, please like, comment, subscribe and consider giving us a 5-star review wherever you listen or watch :-)

72 | Postpartum Running, PT, and Women’s Health W/Courtney Tanaka

In our LAST episode of 2025, we sit down with Courtney Tanaka, owner and founder of RenewMe Physical Therapy, to talk all things physical therapy, postpartum recovery, and what it really looks like to return to running and activity after having a baby.Courtney shares her journey from working inside a large hospital system to building her own practice focused on serving moms who often feel overlooked by the healthcare system. We talk about why the six week postpartum check is rarely enough, what moms actually need in those early weeks, and how education, support, and strength foundations can change the entire recovery process. We dive into common postpartum concerns like leaking while running, pelvic heaviness, back pain, and fatigue, and why these experiences may be common but are not something you simply have to live with. Courtney breaks down how she approaches return to run, strength training, and movement from an orthopedic lens, why pelvic floor health does not have to be complicated, and how small changes can make a big difference. The conversation also expands into motherhood, empathy, boundaries as care providers, and what it means to truly support women during pregnancy and postpartum rather than expecting them to “bounce back.” Courtney shares her own experiences as a mom, runner, and business owner, plus her personal We Get 2 Do This moments. If you are a runner, a mom, a healthcare provider, or someone who supports women through pregnancy and postpartum, this episode is packed with insight, reassurance, and practical wisdom.Courtney Tanaka InstagramRenewMe PT and Wellness WebsiteFollow us on Instagram:@weget2dothispodEmail us questions/comments at:[email protected]Check out the video portion of our show at:https://www.youtube.com/@weget2dothisFor business information hit up the links below:Dr. Kailee Acupuncture Website Oak Endurance WebsiteLASTLY -> If you enjoyed the show, please like, comment, subscribe and consider giving us a 5-star review wherever you listen or watch :-)
