In this episode of WWMD, we sit down with Imam Suhaib Webb — scholar, educator, and one of the most influential American Muslim voices of the last two decades. From his days in Oklahoma City to studying Islamic law at Al-Azhar University in Cairo, from leading Boston’s largest mosque through the aftermath of the Marathon bombing to building a seminary rooted in Malcolm X’s family legacy — Imam Suhaib has lived a life most people only know fragments of. In the inaugural episode of WWMD, we sit down with Mufti Azeemuddin Ahmed — scholar, and founder of Masjid DarusSalam in Lombard, Illinois. Mufti Azeemuddin takes us back to a time when his parents were among the only Muslims in their county in rural Illinois, and walks us through the sacrifices they made to preserve their deen — from bringing a teacher from India to teach Quran in their living room, to sending their children halfway across the world to study. This is a conversation about what it took to build something from nothing, and why that spirit still matters today.
