Si no te gusta vete a otro sitio. The Daily Struggle I used to be very self-conscious about singing. It was because I thought (and I still do), "What will people say about me?" "What if I go out of tune?" "So-and-so sings better than I do," and a ton of other things that kept me from expressing myself the way I wanted. Little by little, that rebellious spirit we all have inside came to the surface and forced me to sing. The fact that I sing might seem like a small thing, but it causes controversy among my orchestra colleagues and the general public; some like it, and others shout at me: "Shut up already, you’re no good!" (Because yes, they have shouted that at me several times, lol). But the challenge here is doing what you truly want to do, as long as it’s within the law. It’s my life, and in the end, I do it for self-improvement. The fact that someone like me can make a living from music and be considered a "Maestro" by some is a miracle to me, especially since I don't come from a musical family—only my mother, who loves to sing and can strum the cuatro a little. Music is a right we all have, and if I feel like singing, I’m going to do it, and that’s that! If you don’t like it, go somewhere else. That’s how we should be with the things we love doing that others, in their bitterness, don’t want us to do. That is when your rebellion must be activated. I encourage you: if you’ve always wanted to do something, if you had a dream you couldn't fulfill, fight for it. Maybe you won't be the best in the world, but better yourself. Strive for excellence. Show that divine spark you have inside. The darkness of others cannot and must not defeat you; light always wins against the shadows. Recording is an Act of Faith I’ve spoken about this before, but recording really is a combination of small opportunities. When silence, lighting, perspective, a full battery, excellent execution, and a good pose all align—that’s when you’ve made it! In my case, if any of these elements fail, I have to redo or cancel the recording. The only thing I’m usually flexible with is my interpretation of the piece, because it is natural and human to make a slight mistake here and there—the kind that even the most professional orchestras in the world make but no one notices (No one is perfect, only God). So, to record a "simple video," you must have great faith and enormous patience! Not to mention the post-production process, which is a whole other chapter in my life. I hope you liked the video. A fraternal hug to you.
