What does “figuring out” mean to you?We sometimes take ourselves so seriously in our search to figure out what our needs are and what our purpose in life is, that we often get stuck, not knowing where to go forward. Humans are the only species that roam the Earth with the power of choice, and that could be both a blessing and a curse. In today’s episode, I talk with Heather Parady about the power of taking action and choosing to get out and explore the world and play and connect with your inner child. She definitely knows a thing or two about this topic since she is a breathing example of a homeschooled girl that turned from an introvert with no friends, into an extrovert entrepreneur and podcast host.Heather believes that people who are successful at figuring things out are those who are continually moving forward and taking steps and understanding that even though something might not work, it will lead them to discover what the next step should be.So tune in, to learn that choosing to be mindful of what enters your mind and taking actions toward what you desire, can be real cultivators of happiness.Heather’s Happiness Hack:“Even though the circumstances are aligned, you still have to find another level of happiness, which is not what your job is or is not how much money you're making - it's that freedom and that lightness. And I think it's a real spiritual experience - you have to be really connected to yourself and something bigger than you.” (14:20)Some questions I ask: - Where did you find this confidence to be totally yourself and connect with people? (03:56) - How do you define happiness? (12:55) - What do you do to look after your inner child, other than create? (14:46) - Who are the five people that you’re closest to in your life and that you share your time with, the most? (23:14) - What is your morning routine? (26:58)In this episode, you will learn: - Heather’s relationship with her parents and how they modeled a part of her character. (05:05) - How she balances being in a relationship and the need for being independent. (08:26) - Why Heather became interested in the psychology realm. (10:25) - Heather’s advice for people who are creative but come from an analytical background. (18:58) - How Heather chooses the people she shares her time with.
