Pada 10 September lalu, dunia memperingati World Suicide Prevention Day alias Hari Pencegahan Bunuh Diri Sedunia 2022. Peringatan itu pertama kali digelar pada 2003 oleh Asosiasi Internasional untuk Pencegahan Bunuh Diri (IASP) melalui dukungan Organisasi Kesehatan Dunia (WHO). Perhatian pada persoalan bunuh diri semakin besar seiring dengan peningkatan jumlah kasusnya. WHO memperkirakan setiap tahun ada 703.000 orang yang melakukan bunuh diri di seluruh dunia. Sementara itu, Badan Litbangkes Kemkes RI (2016) mencatat di Indonesia terjadi 1.800 kematian akibat bunuh diri setiap tahunnya. Artinya, setiap hari ada 5 orang melakukan bunuh diri. Sebanyak 47,7% korban bunuh diri berusia antara 10-39 tahun. Situasi serba sulit saat pandemi covid-19 diperkirakan memperburuk situasi dan memperbesar potensi terjadinya tindak bunuh diri. Setiap kematian akibat bunuh diri merupakan masalah kesehatan masyarakat dengan dampak besar pada orang-orang di sekitar mereka. Tindak bunuh diri adalah soal kesehatan jiwa yang membutuhkan penanganan serius. Pada banyak kasus, bunuh diri diawali oleh depresi yang dipicu berbagai faktor mulai dari ekonomi, sosial, dan berbagai faktor lainnya. Bahkan di masa kini, kita sering dengar bunuh diri juga disebabkan cyber bullying. Kali ini Indonesia Tanpa Stigma mengajak dr.
