We were so honored to have Alicia share her brave and riveting journey with us. She was born in the US and converted to the muslim religion at a young age. She had a semi-arranged marriage and ended up eventually moving to the Middle East. We talk about of how she found herself in an abusive marriage and how she had to flee the Middle East with her two daughters. Her upcoming book, Hidden Calling: A Mother's Courage Unveiled, follows her harrowing escape from the Middle East to protect her two daughters from losing their voices and enduring the same abuse that she did. Now, Alicia is calling for a safer world for women and girls to live in. She does this by teaching others how to recognize and call out 14 forms of abuse.
