    #1101 | What Is a Number?

    What even is a number? Numbers are omnipresent in our lives, and the ways in which we choose to represent them is often taken for granted. Have you ever considered the fact that the concept of zero is something that had to be invented? Or that, the number of fingers you have doesn't necessarily have to be represented as "10"?     #7 | HTTP Simply Explained

    What is HTTP? We recognize it from URLS, but most of us don't have the slightest clue as to what it actually is, I know I didn't. Before I learned about HTTP, I didn't even realize that HTTP was something that did something, as silly as that sounds. I think I sort of just figured that it was just some meaningless part of the URL. In this episode you'll gain an understanding of HTTP and what it does for us, which is a lot.     Who knew that all the wisdom you'd ever need would come from the heroes in a half shell? Okay, maybe that's an exaggeration, but it's totally true that we have a lot to learn from The Ninja Turtles: Leonardo, Raphael, Donatello, and Michelangelo. They must be worth listening to if some of the best painters in history were named after them! ;) I discuss a variety of ideas and actionable steps in this episode that can help you become a better version of yourself, including the importance of balancing maturity and playfulness, doing the right thing without the need for recognition, and mindful eating.     #4 | Navajo Code Talkers: The Unsung Heroes of WWII

    The Navajo Code is one of the few military codes throughout history that was never broken in its lifetime. United States Marines from the Navajo Nation used this code, which was based on their native tongue, to efficiently and securely send highly sensitive military information during WWII. The ingenuity of the code and the bravery of the men who employed it can not be understated. In this episode, I talk about the Navajo Code Talkers and why they were so crucial to America's military efforts in the Pacific theater during WWII. I learned a lot while making this episode and I believe you'll learn a lot by listening.
