    Founder Diaries: Tell your story

Why do we wait to be given the opportunity to tell our story? Typically, it's only when we are applying for a job and tasked with updating our resume and CV. Why don't we tell more stories about our experiences? Write them down, find patterns and connections. You'll spark more curiousity within yourself and maybe even inspire someone else. Thank you to Andrew Lewin, my fellow landlocked ocean lover and conservationist who gave me the opportunity to tell the diving side of my story. From marketing wine to marketing water 🌊

    Founder Diaries: #gololess like Barbie

#HeyBarbie How are your legs so smooth with no razor burn, bumps, ingrown hairs? #gololess like Barbie We asked the original queen of dry shaving about her pain points. She said: "I'm always on the go and don't have access to water. I'm sick of wreaking havoc on my skin when I need a quickie shave off to chase my next adventure, and I want to reduce the amount of plastic in my everyday life." Just a quickie reflection honoring the iconic toy that makes us feel like we can be and do anything. Less water: Barbie's world is a waterless world. Less plastic: Life in plastic? Not fantastic! Mattel created Barbie loves the Ocean, a line of Barbies in ocean careers using PCR plastic. Less waste: Hand your Barbies down to the next generation. Sell them on consignment or donate the dolls to the next loving family.

Founder Diaries: The why behind the waterless wave

#heyamanda When things get hard, always remember WHY you got started... 🎥🎬 Storytime: The Why Behind the Waterless Wave 💙🌊 I worked with @lightkeyphotography to capture the essence and vision for loless last August. It was serendipitous timing as I met them hours after I got off the plane at the end of April and knew that I needed Jian's creative direction. My first round of samples had made it past customs, and you can see those in the video. There were several moments when I questioned whether or not this video would ever see the light of day. It felt very personal; and I wasn't sure if it would resonate with the conservation community. But I found my place, aligned to the #UNOceanDecade #challenge7 - to create an inspiring and engaging ocean. Meet the why behind loless, my founder inspiration for designing a circular, blue beauty brand championing and changing humanity's relationship to the ocean. Telling stories, rebranding the big blue, and connecting to water - this is my focus. It's time to #gololess - Let's keep you smooth and the ocean clean 💙🌊🪒 Thank you to everyone that deciding on water has connected me to. It has been an incredible journey to date of personal and professional growth, and I can not wait to continue to make waves through my work, in my own life and in the world. 🎥 @lightkeyphotography📍Bali, Indonesia📅 August 14, 2022 Loless translates to waterless. We are born into it, it flows through us, and it connects us to every living and nonliving part of our world. I believe that to heal our world and to heal ourselves, we must see ourselves as part of it rather than apart from it, so I share stories, build coalitions, and advance community-driven solutions in order to foster resilient hope through agency. Mermaids x Ocean Connection (The Quickie)

Meet the third (human) body of water to join me on the Bodies of Water podcast, Mette Rosenberg Carlsen. Marine conservationist, dive instructor and professional mermaid. Describe your relationship to water and how it found you?  When I was very young, I started reading novels about whales and fell in love with them completely. David Attenborough's Blue Planet became my most watched tape and I started working towards dedicating my life to the natural world. However, I didn't realize my connection to the ocean until much later. When I started travelling, I found myself only going places that were close to the ocean. And the first time I put my feet in the Pacific ocean I was overwhelmed by a feeling of tranquilizing power and couldn't help but shed a tear - I have been actively seeking out that feeling ever since. What's one sustainability habit or action that you've adopted? Using as little water as possible, whether in the shower, brushing my teeth or any other daily activity Do you have a challenge for our listeners related to water wellness or sustainability? "Dance like nobody is watching" is my best suggestion, but do so under water, because nobody is actually watching and few experiences are more empowering and enjoyable. You can...
