ep. 94: why I have to speak out (and why you should, too)

We need to speak out, and speak out NOW. Because people’s lives are at stake. Because families and the well being of children are at stake. Let’s stand together, and make our voices be heard.https://www.amybriggscoach.comemail me! [email protected] Cox Richardson

    ep. 84: just listen!

Learning to listen - without negating, correcting, fixing, or solving - can change the world. It can change the world on a large scale, and it can change your world locally. And you know what? It can even change your internal world, because if we sometimes resist deeply listening to others, what parts of ourselves are we not listening to? https://www.amybriggscoach.com email me! ep. 82: you have to decide

“Love has never been a popular movement. And no one's ever wanted, really, to be free. The world is held together, really it is held together, by the love and the passion of a very few people. Otherwise, of course, you can despair. Walk down the street of any city, any afternoon, and look around you. What you've got to remember is what you're looking at is also you. Everyone you're looking at is also you. You could be that person. You could be that monster, you could be that cop. And you have to decide, in yourself, not to be.” ~James Baldwin https://www.amybriggscoach.com email me! [email protected]

ep. 81: the six types of courage

I saw a meme the other day...a list called 'The Six Types of Courage' from The Academy of Art, Creativity & Consciousness. 16. 79

ep. 79: heal yourself. heal your community.

To heal yourself, you have to get quiet. You have to get in touch with how you’re feeling, and become aware of what you need in order to feel better. Find that resource - whatever it is - inside of yourself. And then take action by going out and offering it to others. Join my Community! https://www.amybriggscoach.com email me: [email protected]

ep. 78: reclaiming the word 'resistance'

I can think of no better outlet for my efforts right now than acts of love through resistance. And to be honest, I can think of nothing worse right now than to be silent; to be content with the unearned privileges and comforts I enjoy while others are being stripped of theirs, or have never had them at all. https://www.amybriggscoach.com Join Community Tricia Hersey Rest Is Resistance email me! 18. 77

ep. 77: the case for feeling your feelings

From where I sit today, two days after our election, I believe that the emotions so many of us feel - the uncomfortable, difficult, hard emotions - are really valuable energy moving through. Let’s not ignore them. Let’s use them. Let’s honor their truth and wisdom so that we can move forward and truly do something. https://www.amybriggscoach.com email me! [email protected]

  19. 76

ep. 76: we're in this together

So, my friend…it’s election day. How will it all shake out? I have no idea, and you probably don’t either. But I know that regardless of the outcome, we will be OK. https://www.amybriggscoach.com email me! [email protected]

  20. 75

ep. 75: you have to believe it to see it

Your belief in yourself…who you are and what you’re here to do…creates your reality. https://www.amybriggscoach.com email me! [email protected]

  21. 74

    ep. 74: preaching to myself

Most often, change is messy, and it takes me longer than I want it to take. And I cycle through the same feelings of doubt, worry, self-criticism, and second-guessing myself that my clients feel. https://www.amybriggscoach.com email me! [email protected]

  22. 73

ep. 73: tiny happy baby steps

Authenticity is powerful. And the more you practice lining up with yourself and taking small, easy steps from that place, the more you fully inhabit the new version of yourself. And the more magnetic you are to people around you...including potential employers, future clients or customers, and future colleagues. https://www.amybriggscoach.com email me! [email protected]

  23. 72

ep. 72: line up with yourself

Alignment with your own truth - the truth of who you are - is the cornerstone to living a happy life. It’s essential to feeling fulfilled and satisfied with what you do. It’s THE biggest, most powerful factor in having a positive impact on the world around you. Authenticity is powerful. You know it when you see it in other people. And when you line up with yourself, when you are authentic, your presence will be magnetic. https://www.amybriggscoach.com email me! [email protected]

  24. 71

ep. 71: the question to ask yourself

When you're feeling like it's time for a change, there's one powerful question to ask yourself...before you do anything else, before you take action. https://www.amybriggscoach.com email me! [email protected]

  25. 70

ep. 70: when you're bored with what you do

Because most of us don’t make regular assessments - of happiness, satisfaction, and well-being - as we move through life, a feeling of boredom or apathy is worth unpacking and taking some time with. Your feelings didn’t appear overnight. There’s some part of you that has been neglected or unsatisfied and you haven’t been paying conscious attention to it. Now is the time to start paying attention. https://www.amybriggscoach.com email me! [email protected]

  26. 69

ep. 69: when what you get is not what you want

Sometimes what you want is not what you actually get. And that's OK. It's OK for reality to be messy. Being able to sit with the complexity of your own life…when what you’ve got isn’t completely what you want…it’s a powerful place to be. work with me! email me! [email protected]

  27. 68

ep: 68: that crazy voice inside of you

Today I want to talk about something that we all experience. You, me, everyone! Whether we’re consciously aware of it or not. I want to talk about the almost-constant, often-crazy voice that is always talking to us. Michael Singer: the untethered soul Amy Briggs Coaching email me! [email protected]

  29. 66

    ep. 66: keeping your balance

How cool would it be if you had a way to calm yourself down when you get flooded with stress and anxiety? Well, guess what? You can bring yourself back into balance, nervous system regulation, and well-being whenever you need to. It just takes a little know-how and practice. 30. 65

ep. 65: getting back on track

Taking a break from something because you just aren’t feeling it…that's OK. Let the desire come back on its own. If you give it space, it’ll probably come back stronger than ever. If it doesn’t, something new will come in its place. Trust yourself, and trust the process. https://www.amybriggscoach.com email me! [email protected]

  31. 64

    ep. 64: I'm worth it

You are worth it. Even if your goal scares you. Even if other people don’t get why it’s so important to you. If you have the dream, you are worth going after it. You’re worth putting in the work and giving it everything you’ve got. If you fail, you’re still worthy. In fact, you’re worthy of trying again. And again, and again, until you get it the way you want it. This is your life, your one life, and you’re worth making exactly what you want of it. https://www.amybriggscoach.com email me! 33. 62

ep. 62: do what scares you

What do you long to do that scares you? Or that feels too difficult? Or that you think you might fail at? What’s stopping you from just doing it anyway? From trying and seeing what it’s all about? What would happen if you failed? What could you learn about yourself…how much more might you be capable of? And even if you failed, what could you learn for the next time around? Hardrock Hundred Endurance Run amybriggscoach.com email me! [email protected]

ep. 61: grieving what you've left behind

Choosing something new - however right it feels - doesn’t mean it won’t hurt to release the old. https://www.amybriggscoach.com email me! [email protected]

  35. 60

ep. 60: the risks of being yourself

I love to promote being yourself. But I'm going to be honest: it's not always easy. And it’s not always going to be received well. There are real risks to being yourself. The risks are, in fact, WHY you feel some fear around changing. Let’s talk about them. https://www.amybriggscoach.com email me! [email protected]

  36. 59

ep. 59: write it all down

Today I want to give you a tool that I use when I feel out of sorts. Or when I have an issue that I really need to bring some resolution to. This tool is free, easy, and super effective. You can do it anywhere. All you need is a little bit of time, a pen and some paper (or your laptop, if you prefer to type). You’re going to write it all down. Over time, you begin to see that your thoughts are not YOU. You are not your thoughts. Or your fears. They pass by, and they make way for something else. Writing them down helps them pass quicker. They don’t have to stay inside of you. Get them out onto the page and see how the emotional charge of each of those thoughts is deactivated. https://www.amybriggscoach.com email me! [email protected]

  37. 58

    ep. 58: motion is lotion

Mental and emotional energy is a lot like physical energy. When we get caught up in the same ‘positions’...beliefs, thoughts, emotions, and stories that we tell ourselves, we are practicing a kind of viewpoint. A rigid viewpoint of ourselves, the world, and people in our lives. How dynamic and flexible is your viewpoint? Want to bring yourself some relief? Listen to Michael Koppy on the Distance to Empty podcast https://www.amybriggscoach.com email me! [email protected]

  38. 57

ep. 57: the willingness to fall apart

When I finally began working on my own mental and emotional stuff, I fell apart. Over and over again. In the presence of a practitioner who was there to catch me. Falling apart wasn’t fun, but there was always relief on the other side. Being willing to fall apart was necessary. Because it wasn’t until I’d fallen apart completely that I could rebuild on a strong foundation. https://www.amybriggscoach.com email me! [email protected]

  39. 56

ep. 56: go slow to go fast

In running AND in life, it's not how fast you go that will determine things. It's how little you slow down (or stop altogether), which is all about sustainability. It's finding that all-day pace and flowing with it, being present to all of your signals. That 'just-right' feeling is worth a lot. https://www.amybriggscoach.com email me! [email protected]

  40. 55

ep. 55: everything worth creating takes time

If you find yourself waiting for what you want... I'm here to let you know that things taking time is very, very normal. Everything good that I've created in my life has taken time. It’s time to unshame time. https://www.amybriggscoach.com email me! [email protected]

  41. 54

    ep. 54: your own wisdom

Knocking at the door of your own wisdom is a symbolic act. You’re turning back towards what you always knew, but just forgot for a while. You’re embracing what you had a long time ago, and never lost. You are intentionally bringing back a part of yourself that needs to have a say. https://www.amybriggscoach.com email me! [email protected]

  42. 53

ep. 53: why I don't like the word 'coach'

I wish there were a word to express the depth of the work I do with people. I’m afraid that even if there were a perfect, elegant, eloquent word, it STILL wouldn’t be adequate. And since I haven’t yet figured out a new word to call myself, I reluctantly call myself a coach. https://www.amybriggscoach.com email me! [email protected]

  43. 52

    ep. 52: everyone needs someone

I believe the world would be a better place if everyone had access to a mental and emotional health professional. And I'm going to tell you why. https://www.amybriggscoach.com email me! [email protected]

  44. 51

ep. 51: the fear of being nothing

If striving for success drives you, the fear of not being successful can be truly terrifying. Feeling like nobody knows what you do, what you're capable of, or even worse…feeling like you're perceived as a fraud or a big fat nothing…that’s the dark underbelly of all of the striving. https://www.amybriggscoach.com email me! [email protected]

  45. 50

    ep. 50: finding your WHY

When it comes to reaching a goal, it’s not the inspired moments that are challenging. It’s when you don’t have any reason to believe you can get there. It’s when you get bad news, or something you’d hoped for doesn’t pan out. It’s when you have to pivot or tweak something. These are the moments when knowing your WHY will be so powerful. What's YOUR why? https://www.amybriggscoach.com email me! [email protected]

  46. 49

ep. 49: the #1 reason you feel stuck

In a situation where the thing you’re after feels far away from where you actually are, your ability to hold your focus on your dream, your vision, your goal…it’s everything. https://www.amybriggscoach.com email me! [email protected]

  47. 48

ep. 48: forward is a pace

Keep moving forward. Even if it’s slow. Even if it’s painfully slow! Even if you sometimes have to take two steps backward. Moving forward means you’re making progress. Forward is a pace. https://www.amybriggscoach.com email me! [email protected]

  48. 47

    ep. 47: pain as opportunity

That thing that is causing you some nagging pain right now might just be an opportunity to grow, to become stronger, to get even better at something. When you’re willing to tolerate some discomfort to grow beyond the pain, it opens up brand new possibilities for your life. Pain can be an opportunity. https://www.amybriggscoach.com email me!
