Betty, a high school dropout who left school in the 10th grade, spent the majority of her life employed as a cashier and waitress. Throughout her life, she entered into five marriages. She had killed her husband, a firefighter, in order to obtain his life insurance benefits amounting to $100,000 and his pension. His remains were found in a wishing well on their property, which was adorned with a flower garden. Additionally, police uncovered the skeletal remains of her fourth husband, Doyle Wayne Baker, buried beneath a storage shed on the premises. Baker had also been shot, and his disappearance had remained a mystery until the investigation into her fifth husband led to the search of her property. On October 4, 2004, the lifeless and partially clothed body of nineteen-year-old Courtney Coco was discovered in a derelict building along Farm to Market Road 1406, close to Interstate 10 in Winnie, Texas. Originally from Alexandria, Louisiana, Courtney was last seen alive around 4:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 2, 2004. Despite various leads emerging during the investigation, the case eventually went cold. It wasn't until fifteen years later that authorities arrested a suspect—who had been engaged to Courtney's sister in 2004—for her murder. A callous woman who concealed her infant in a drawer beneath her bed until the child was discovered just weeks shy of their third birthday has been sentenced to seven and a half years in prison. Mark James Robert Essex (August 12, 1949 – January 7, 1973) was an American serial sniper and black nationalist known as the "New Orleans Sniper" who killed a total of nine people, including five police officers, and wounded twelve others, in two separate attacks in New Orleans on December 31, 1972, and January 7, 1973. Essex was killed by police in the second armed confrontation.Essex is believed to have specifically sought to kill white people and police officers due to racism he had previously experienced while enlisted in the Navy. He was well-dressed and took great pride in his appearance. He was indeed someone of significance.” He had a cherished dog named “Money.” Raymond Lee tricked Wiley into letting him into the motel room. Once inside, however, Lee attempted to rob Wiley. Danny Harold Rolling (May 26, 1954 – October 25, 2006), known as The Gainesville Ripper, was an American serial killer who murdered five college students in Gainesville, Florida over four days in August 1990. He later confessed to raping several of his victims, committing a triple homicide in his home city of Shreveport, Louisiana, and attempting to murder his father in May 1990. In total, Rolling confessed to killing eight people. He was sentenced to death for the five Gainesville murders in 1994. He was executed by lethal injection in 2006. Randy Stewart Doran was last heard from in early April of 1978 by postcard. Randy was known to hitchhike across the country; He was born in California, but known to travel to Nevada and Florida. He was believed to have been working on a boat dock in New Orleans, Louisiana, just prior to his disappearance. The investigation into Sullivan began in July 2022 after a teenage girl reported to the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office that Sullivan had sexually assaulted her several times when she was 14 years old. The teen additionally claimed that Sullivan had sexually groomed her and used threats of violence against her and her family to prevent the assaults from being reported. Euzebe Vidrine was the 1920s Acadiana serial killer who was the only man ever legally hanged in Evangeline Parish. He was one of Louisiana's earliest serial killers that came from Ville Platte who wrecked havoc in not only Louisiana but Texas as well. Bre Morgan was attacked by a sexual predator at a laundromat in Lacombe, Louisiana. After returning to move over her clothes, she was approached by a convicted sex offender. Morgan says he pretended to help her at the change machine before uttering bone-chilling words and attacking her. Ms. Anita Hedgepeth lived in Algiers Point in 2012 and encountered a young man while walking to her car on January 25. She was approached by a man with a gun demanding her car, but she resisted. The situation escalated when the assailant grabbed her purse, resulting in a struggle. The victim intervened by jumping on the car's hood and was tragically shot. Amidst the chaos, the victim urged Ms. Hedgepeth to run before collapsing in her yard, leaving his children distraught. Daniel Bryan “Bunce” Napier known as the "Butterfly Man," murdered a 15-year-old girl in Shreveport in 1934. He was part of a crowd in Georgia that in 1915 had lynched Leo Frank in connection with the similar killing of a girl named Mary Phagan. Some writers have speculated that Napier was Phagan's killer as well. He also used the name "Fred Lockhart" and this is how he was largely referred to in the papers of the day. The state of Louisiana has death certificates with both names. Mary James Peters was born in 1938 to James and Veronica Peters in North Dakota, along with her four brothers. At the time of the incident, she was 85 years old, legally blind, and lived alone. Mary was a petite woman, standing at 5’1'' and weighing 110 pounds. She had two daughters, Teresa and Mary, and many grandchildren. She was close friends with Rita Baldwin but feared her husband, Tim. Mary attended church with her friend Ledvic Herlevic every Sunday. Tim, Rita, and their seven children were neighbors of Mary in Louisiana, where Mary was a godmother to their youngest son. Timothy often did handyman work for Mary in her home. After moving to Ohio, issues arose with Rita's financial troubles, leading to a downward spiral for the family. Madison Brooks spends the evening at Reggie’s Bar on 1176 Bob Pettit Boulevard in East Baton Rouge, where she was served alcohol despite being underage and met the four men accused of attacking her. Ronald Joseph Dominique, also known as The Bayou Strangler, he was an American serial killer and rapist who murdered at least 23 men and boys in the state of Louisiana between 1997 and 2006. Dominique's victims tended to be teenagers and men aged between 16 and 46, but not all of them were homosexual. Most of the victims were African-American. He often met them during walks or drives in his pickup truck, as well as in gay bars, luring them with offers of alcohol, drugs, housing, or group sex with his supposed girlfriend. After successfully convincing potential victims, Dominique would lure them to his trailer where he would overpower them, bind them, and subsequently rape them. Dominique's victims tended to be teenagers and men aged between 16 and 46, but not all of them were homosexual. Most of the victims were African-American. He often met them during walks or drives in his pickup truck, as well as in gay bars, luring them with offers of alcohol, drugs, housing, or group sex with his supposed girlfriend. After successfully convincing potential victims, Dominique would lure them to his trailer where he would overpower them, bind them, and subsequently rape them. The Houma Police Department and the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office searched the areas of Bayou Terrebonne, as well as the Intracoastal Waterway for Ezekiel Harry. Police conducted interviews and suspected foul play to be involved. Houma Police said they received a call in reference to the possible abduction of a 2-year-old near the 100 block of Mahler Street. The call came in on 07/12/2022.During the investigation, Houma Police contacted the mother, who initially stated she was along Bayou Terrebonne with her kids when a subject in a gray truck passed, grabbed her child and departed the area. On September 23rd, 2022 at approximately 4:49 p.m. the Houma Police Department responded to the Liberty Street Bridge in reference to a child being thrown into Bayou Terrebonne from the Liberty Street Bridge. It was there that police discovered an 18 month old little boy was thrown into the bayou off of the bridge, with another child near the water and a third child left abandoned in a car. Junior was last seen playing outside in front of their home in the 100 block of Howard Road in Lisbon. His mother, Shelia Phillips, was inside and her boyfriend, Nicholas Gilbert, was working on his truck nearby. The St. Tammany Parish coroner verifies the identity of the elderly man whose remains were found stuffed inside an ice chest in a Slidell-area apartment on Tuesday night through DNA. The man, who investigators believe was born in 1928, was left in a 160-quart cooler kept in his daughter's residence on the 100 block of South Military Road. The man, Charles Fisher has been positively identified and apparently born in 1928, may have been dead for months or even years before his 58-year-old daughter and her roommate reported his death. Even worse is what they have done to his body prior to it being found. In the early morning hours of March 27, 2018 a melee ensued when the two Airmen were alone in their room.After completing his shift Isiah Edwards went to the dorm room he shared with Bradley Hale, then left to bring back food for them both. When he returned, he flipped open his knife. Edwards made a joke about using it to rob the restaurant where he had gotten the food before putting down the knife next to Hale’s chair and going to bed. Edwards woke up when he felt Hale’s hand on his buttocks, and then saw his roommate walk towards and enter the bathroom. Isiah explained that they had no arguments, fights or problems of any kind before falling asleep, but the touching made him “really pissed off.” While his roommate was in the bathroom, Edwards stated he sat up in his bed and “was just sort of fuming a bit.” He got out of bed and stood in a corner of the room by the switch for the overhead light. Handley and Schanda married in 2006. It's unclear why their marriage fell apart but in 2017, multiple restraining orders were filed involving both of them and as his marriage deteriorated, he started using drugs.Schanda Handley and her daughter Isabella Cumberland were at their home on a quiet street in Lafayette, Louisiana, on Aug. 6, 2017, when two men appeared at their front door. At first glance they looked like deliverymen, which was a welcome interruption, since Handley had been anxiously awaiting a clothes steamer she had ordered.
