Gill loves working in teams and seeing others succeed so has a focus on professional development and growth of team members. Gill uses many of her skills in voluntary work with the Australian Institute of Professional Intelligence Officers and on the Committee of Management for the building where she resides. In addition, she works as the Chief Supervisor for VCE Exam invigilation and is employed as a courtesy car driver for the Australian Open Tennis each year.     In this first episode of Marvellous Women: The Podcast, Jodie Purves shares how her focus and determination during her early years as an athlete kept her passionate about her family, pursuing a healthy lifestyle, managing her business career, and helping others succeed on their own journey. Jodie Purves has dedicated her life to sport, especially cricket, through her time as elite athlete, coach, mentor and in her subsequent career in sport administration. She successfully captained the Australian Women's Cricket Team for five years from 2009-2014 and led the team to double World Cup Wins in 2012 in Sri Lanka and 2013 in India. She also captained the Queensland Women's Cricket Team for six years leading the side to their first WT20 win. She was named Queensland Sportswoman of the Year in 2013 and was inducted into the Queensland Cricket Association Hall of Fame in 2020 for extensive contributions to women's cricket in Queensland, including the development of younger players. Jodie is passionate about furthering the development of all people through sport, health and wellbeing and promoting the development of women's sport in Australia and internationally.
