31. The Things We Took for Granted: Life After 40
Send us Fan MailTime doesn’t just pass differently after 40— it can feel like it’s sprinting. In this episode, we reflect on what we took for granted when we were younger—bodies that bounced back, endless energy, and friendships that came easily. Now, those same things need care and intention, from looking after our health to making time for the people who matter. We talk about how quickly the years seem to move, how technology is reshaping our attention and our kids’ learning. From missed opportunities to dreams of traveling more, it’s an honest, relatable, and slightly nostalgic conversation about learning to appreciate what we have while we have it.Thanks for listening! 30. The Myers-Briggs Personality Test: What It Really Says About Us
Send us Fan MailThree sisters sit down to take the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) —and then take it a step further by guessing each other’s types out loud before revealing the results. As we land on INFP (the youngest), ENFP (the middle child ), and INTJ (the eldest), we explore what the letters really mean, from introvert vs. extrovert to thinking vs. feeling, sensing vs. intuition, judging vs. perceiving and see if there are surprises we did not expect. The conversation goes beyond labels into real-life stories about family dynamics, conflict, and protecting ones energy, while also exploring how personality tests are used across cultures and how our perspectives shift with age.Search MBTI free test and take one for yourself and share the results with us and your thoughts! 29. Everyday Findings: Wait… That’s Normal There?!
Send us Fan MailIn this episode, we take a fun look at what a simple grocery run can reveal about the cultures of the US, Germany, and Japan. From Florida’s bagger-at-the-checkout routine to Germany’s blink-and-you’ll-miss-it scanning speed and Japan’s bring-your-own-bag discipline, we discover how everyday shopping habits reflect different ideas about convenience and responsibility. Along the way, we compare customer service styles—Japan’s thoughtful attention, Germany’s efficient no-nonsense focus, and the US’s friendly, chatty help—and unpack the sometimes confusing world of tipping culture. We also wander into daily rituals like indoor shoes, pool hygiene rules, and the art of staying quiet on trains and in theaters. With plenty of laughs and relatable moments, the episode shows how small habits—bagging groceries, returning carts, or tipping the barista—can reveal a lot about how people in different cultures live together. Thanks for listening! 27. New Year, New Habits: Cleaning, Decluttering & Letting Go
Send us Fan MailThe episode explores how more space often leads to more clutter and how downsizing, donating, and setting boundaries around “essentials” can bring real relief. We share candid reflections on spending habits—whether on clothes, food, or travel—and explain how identifying your personal weak spot makes limits easier to maintain. Practical, lived-in strategies like quick tidy sprints, kid-powered cleaning routines, and one-in, one-out rules are mixed with humor and honesty about the daily chaos of family life. Throughout, the conversation reframes minimalism as a mental health support rather than a picture-perfect aesthetic, encouraging ones to start small, reduce friction, and create more room for rest, connection, and joy. Thanks for listening! 25. Fall Edition: ’Tis The Season For A Global Halloween
Send us Fan MailHalloween takes on wildly different forms around the world- from Japan’s massive Shibuya street party and Disney parades to Germany’s spooky costumes and expanding trick-or-treat scenes. In the U.S., the holiday walks a line between fun and safety, with teal pumpkins signaling allergy-friendly treats, dentist buy-backs, and a shift from crowded haunted houses to calmer fall festivals. While Japan’s celebrations skew adult and urban, and Germany sticks to strictly spooky vibes in October, each country brings its own twist. We also share our first Halloween memories and low-effort “Jimi Halloween” costume hacks to inspire your next party. Thanks for listening! 24: Q&A Session: What Flavor Of Ice Cream Are We?!
Send us Fan MailFor this milestone episode, we handed the mic to you, our listeners, and asked you to send in your burning questions for us three sisters. Nothing was off the table: from our most ridiculous childhood shenanigans to how we navigate culture, career, and chaos as adults. Your questions sparked laughs, debates, and a few “wait, do you actually remember it that way?” moments. The result? A mix of honest reflections, unexpected laughter, and the kind of candid moments that only siblings can pull off.“Looking back, did any birth‑order stereotypes align with your situation? How did that evolve over time?” “What part of your childhood do you miss most now that we live in a world dominated by modern technology?"“If each of you were a flavor of ice cream based on personality, what would it be?”“What do you think each sister would be doing in life if you weren’t sisters?”“What’s a personality trait one sister has that the others didn’t appreciate growing up, but now love or admire?”Do you feel more “Japanese,” “Western,” or something in between now? How do you define your identity? If the three of you were cartoon characters, who would you be — and why? What advice would you give to sisters who’ve drifted apart and want to reconnect? Thanks for listening! 19: Family Trips & Fuzzy Memories: We Snorkeled?!
Send us Fan MailIn this episode, the three of us look back on our family travels from the early '90s to recent years. Cancun was our favorite, with its crystal-clear waters and a snorkeling spot—though hilariously, one of us has no memory of ever snorkeling there. That foggy recall becomes a running joke as we trade stories, from our dad’s laminated road trip maps to the time he accidentally drank maple syrup, thinking it was whiskey. Piecing together these decades-old memories felt like solving a puzzle, reminding us how fortunate we were to travel cross country in America—and how those adventures left us with stories up to recent years we’re still laughing about today. Thanks for listening! ABOUT THIS SHOW
A podcast hosted by three sisters in their 40s with a lifetime of stories and insights to share. From growing up in Japan to now living across three continents, we've gone through life's twists and turns. Join us as we dive into our cherished childhood memories, offer our unique perspectives on a wide range of topics, and recount our humble experiences living in different parts of the world. Despite long distances and scheduling conflicts that have kept us physically apart for years, we're here to give you a glimpse of what it's like to have sisters, regardless of the miles that separate us. Are we still the same as we used to be, or have we grown and changed along the way living in diverse locations? Stay tuned; we hope you’ll be entertained!
