Your Life Is a Constellation: Identity, Transition, and the Invitation to Be More Than One Thing
You’ve built a life that looks right on paper, but something in you keeps whispering that it doesn’t quite fit anymore. You’re holding everyone together and wondering who’s holding you. In this conversation, Ameera sits down with Stefanie Holmden, mental health clinician, founder of Holmm, and published poet, to explore what happens when a woman starts to outgrow the identity she’s been living in. They talk about why change feels like loss even when we chose it, what your nervous system is actually doing when it’s “on fire,” and how to tell the difference between tired and in survival mode.Stefanie shares her framework of pause, ponder, proceed for navigating transition without burning everything down. They explore the power of diversifying your identity, creating an alignment avatar for boundary-setting and why your life was never meant to be a single star but a whole constellation.HIGHLIGHTSBefore the Clinician: Who Were You? Stephanie’s origin story - journalism, a career pivot at 30 with a newborn, and the mother who saw what she couldn’t.Why Does Change Feel Like Loss? Identity conditioning, the desire for certainty, and why we stop diversifying who we are in adulthood. Coming Home to Yourself. Calming the nervous system as a prerequisite for alignment, and the pause, ponder, proceed framework. When Your Nervous System Is on Fire. The F modes (fight, flight, freeze, fawn), recognising dysregulation in high-functioning women, and the first step toward awareness.Boundaries and the Alignment Avatar. A creative approach to setting boundaries: define your values, build an avatar, and let her lead. When the People Around You Don’t Recognise You Anymore. Navigating identity change in relationships, the caring community, and why belonging has to grow with you. Where Did I Go? A Message to Mothers. Guilt, the emotional calendar, and asking your children the question that changes everything.Holmm and the Belief in Inherent Wisdom. The Real Resume: Why Your Hardest Chapters Are Your Greatest Qualification
A note before you listen: this episode contains references to violence, grief, loss, and financial hardship. It is also one of the most honest conversations I've ever had on this show. If you're in a place where those topics feel heavy right now, come back to it when you're ready. It will be here.Episode Summary:Have you been treating your story like it is something to overcome? Like once you are far enough away from it, once you have enough credentials, enough money, enough distance, then you’ll finally be ready to build the life you actually want. This episode is Ameera’s most personal to date. For the first time, she shares the full story behind The Designed Life losing her father at two, growing up as the daughter of immigrants, being bullied for every visible difference, learning business from a brother who went bankrupt and built again, navigating a terrifying episode, grief, a career pivot at 38, motherhood, burnout, and starting a new business at 50.She makes the case that your hardest chapters are not liabilities. They're your lived experience, your real resume, and the evidence that you can do the hard thing in front of you because look at everything behind you. If you have been waiting until you feel ready, this episode will change how you define “ready.” Listen now. And then write your hindsight list.Highlights:[00:00] | This Episode Is DifferentWhy Ameera is telling her story now, and the friend who held the mirror.[04:26] | The Three Women Listening Right Now The misaligned performer, the woman with the shelved plan, and the woman who was pushed.[08:16] | The Inflection Point Is Structural AI, job displacement, and why the women who design now will lead what comes next.[15:53] | What Business and Grief Taught Me Family business -success to bankruptcy, cold calling from a phone book, and a sister lost to cancer.[17:02] | The Day I’ve Never Spoken About An Emergency call, and the moment that proved she wasn't helpless.[24:12] | Your Story Is Not in the Way, It Is the Way The central reframe: your lived experience is your greatest qualification.[27:37] | What Leading Your Next Chapter Actually Means Not burning it down, making the next right decision from strength instead of fear.[33:22] | A Message to the Woman Who KnowsThe closing: you're more qualified than you think, and you don’t have to do it alone.A NEW EXPERIENCE FOR WOMEN WHO DESIRE A LIFE OF WEALTH FREEDOMWEALTH BY DESIGN Connect With Ameera ViraniWebsite Instagram LinkedInIf this episode inspired you, please hit subscribe and leave a review. The Infinity Loop: How to Receive, Steward, and Release Money Without Fear
You have more than enough by any reasonable standard and you still don’t feel wealthy. The gap between what you have and what you feel is not a flaw. It’s the distance between someone else’s definition of wealth and your own. The Life You Prayed For But Can't Find Yourself In with Uniyme Oguta
She built the life she wanted. The career, the family, the role, the respect. And then one morning she woke up and thought: this is everything I asked for, but I cannot find myself in any of it.Unyime Oguta is a speaker, author, and leadership consultant who has spent over 20 years working across corporate and ministry spaces. She does not teach women to do more. She challenges them to stop performing, raise their standards, and lead from peace instead of pressure. And she recently lived that teaching in the most public way possible, stepping away from her coaching business, her podcast, and social media to honour a season of stillness she could no longer ignore. In this conversation, Unyime introduces us to who she calls the exhausted leader, the woman who has learned to wear performance so well it has become a second skin. We talk about what self-erasure actually looks like in real life, why resentment often shows up toward the people and things you love most, and how to recognize the difference between a hard week and a season that is asking you to evolve. This is not a conversation about productivity or optimization. This is a conversation about coming home to yourself in the middle of a life you built for everyone else.In this episode, we cover:• What the exhausted leader looks like and how to know if that is you• Self-erasure: the pattern high achieving women do not notice until the pressure explodes• Why resentment toward the things you love is one of the clearest signals something needs to shift• The AIM framework for setting boundaries from love, not from war• A real workplace boundary example using AIM in a corporate environment• Unyime's personal story of burnout, chronic stress, and what her body tried to tell her for months• Why she walked away from a working business and what she found in the stillness• How to tell the difference between a hard week and a call to evolve• What her 14-year-old daughter is already learning about self-leadership by watching her mom pauseConnect with UnyimeInstagramWebsiteConnect With Ameera ViraniWebsite Instagram LinkedInIf this episode inspired you, please hit subscribe and leave a review. She Bet on Herself Before Anyone Else Would
What would you build if you stopped waiting for permission?Krystal Jugarap knew she was meant for entrepreneurship since high school, but the path there looked nothing like she imagined. A career in fashion design was shut down by cultural expectations. Years of people-pleasing followed. And then one night, feeding her second daughter in a tiny apartment, she sketched an idea on the back of a diaper box that would change the direction of her entire life.In this episode of The Designed Life, Krystal shares the full, honest arc of building two businesses while raising three young children. She talks about the manufacturing disaster that nearly broke her early on and how showing up with radical transparency in that moment became the foundation for everything she would build next. She opens up about leaving her government job in March 2025 with three kids in tow, choosing uncertainty over a paycheck that felt like survival, and what it actually looks like to commit to yourself when the evidence has not caught up yet.We go deep on what community really means when life gets heavy, why vulnerability is not a weakness but one of your greatest leadership strengths, and the difference between balance (which does not exist) and the dance of showing up where it matters most on any given day.If you are sitting at a crossroads right now, holding an idea you have not acted on, or wondering whether the timing will ever feel right, this conversation is going to meet you exactly where you are.In this episode, we cover:• Why Krystal committed to entrepreneurship before she had proof it would work• The manufacturing disaster that became her biggest leadership lesson• How radical vulnerability built a community of 120+ women across the US• Leaving a stable government job with three kids and no safety net• Why she calls it a dance, not a balance• The difference between doing it messy and doing it perfectly (hint: one of them actually works)• What designing your life really means when your days are full and your energy is finite• Her advice for the woman sitting on the fence right nowConnect with Krystal:Instagram: www.instagram.com/iamkrystaljWebsite: empoweredbywomen.comConnect With Ameera ViraniWebsite: www.ameeravirani.com Instagram: @ameera.virani LinkedIn: linkedin.com/in/ameeravirani/Join Wealth By DesignWealth by Design is the two-evening intensive where we identify that gap and start closing it. The Money You Inherited: How Your Childhood Story Is Running Your Life
You check your bank account and there’s enough, but your body doesn’t believe it. The knot in your stomach, the white-knuckle grip on every dollar, the feeling that it could all disappear tomorrow - that didn’t start with your income. It started at a kitchen table you haven’t sat at in years. In this deeply personal solo episode, Ameera opens up about her own earliest money memory watching her widowed mother stretch every paycheck and walks you through the research on money scripts: the unconscious beliefs about money we absorb in childhood and carry, unquestioned, into every financial decision we make as adults. You’ll learn how to name your money memory, define your “wealth feeling” (because the number was never going to be enough), and begin separating your caregiver’s money story from your own; not to blame anyone, but to build something new. If money makes you anxious, controlling, or avoidant and you’re not sure when that started, this episode is your starting point. What Women Carry -She Holds More Than She Is Given Credit For
This International Women's Day solo episode is a love letter to every woman who has been giving generously to everyone around her and has quietly left herself off the list. Ameera moves through the invisible labour women carry in a single ordinary day, the extraordinary lineage of women who transformed what the world handed them, the real and rarely named; qualities that constitute women's strength, the conditioning behind female competition and the power that unlocks when we choose to call each other higher instead, and a direct invitation to the men listening to show up as everyday allies. She also opens up about the moment everything burned down- literally - when the family home she had poured her savings and dreams into caught fire during renovations. From shadow work to somatic tools like EFT/tapping and breathwork, Carrigan offers practical ways high‑achieving women can move from autopilot to alignment in the midst of real life (kids, careers, responsibilities) and feel results fast.Listen ForThe four phases of modern alchemy and how the cycle repeats at macro and micro levels in our lives. Why self‑nourishment and compassion during breakdowns are required to move forward (even when it’s the last thing you want to do).Shadow work, explained: illuminating the unconscious (denied/repressed parts) to become more whole.Somatic transformation: pairing mindset with body‑based practices so change “lands” in the nervous system.EFT/tapping 101: how tapping meridian points while naming a fear/belief resets your state.Purpose as an ever‑becoming: encoded within you, refined by choices, challenges, and season. Why you don’t need to burn your life down to evolve; how to discern what still aligns with your soul.Everyday devotion: Olympic‑level training for the mind, body, and spirit done in practical, bite‑size rituals.Gentle on‑ramps for busy women: add nourishment (greens, hydration, walks) before removing habits.A whimsical daily ritual: singing to your water as an intention practice and nature connection.About Carrigan HamCarrigan is an artist, teacher, and creator of Inner Alchemy, a holistic approach to purpose through the mind, body, and soul. After navigating early life trauma and discovering the healing intelligence of the body, she’s devoted her work to guiding others through alchemical cycles—so the inner work manifests as outer alignment.Connect With CarriganInstagram: @withinneralchemyWebsite: withinneralchemy.comConnect With AmeeraWebsite: www.ameeravirani.com Instagram: @ameera.virani LinkedIn: linkedin.com/in/ameeravirani/Complimentary Upcoming Workshop: https://visioneering.showit.site/If This Episode Sparked Your SoulPlease hit subscribe and leave a review. The Soft Power of Self-Leadership
Leadership is often imagined as authority, control, or being the loudest voice; but true leadership is quieter. It’s embodied, soft, energetic power that inspires others not by force, but by vision, trust, and service. In this episode, I share my insights, experiences, and personal stories of leadership including what I’ve witnessed, what I’ve practiced, and what I’ve learned about self-leadership.We’ll explore:Why self-leadership is the starting point of all leadership. How servant leadership is about making daily deposits of trust, kindness, empathy, and creativity. Why true change doesn’t start at the top -it starts in the mirror. My hope is that this conversation will give you a new lens to see leadership as an honour, a privilege and as service. Reflection Prompts for You Take these into your journal, your walk, or a quiet moment with yourself:Where in my life have I been waiting for leadership to change, rather than stepping into my own agency? What qualities do I most long to experience in a leader and am I embodying those qualities for myself and those I lead? What daily deposits can I make (trust, kindness, empathy, creativity) that will strengthen my own self-leadership and my relationships? How can I begin to practice human centered leadership - seeing myself and others not just by what we do, but by who we are? What ripple do I want my self-leadership to create in my family, my work, my community, and the world? If this episode resonates with you, I’d love to hear your reflections. Beyond The Desire is The Belief
In this episode, we explore the question: What if your desires aren’t about “things” but about the feelings they evoke? We discuss how to shift from simply identifying your desires to fully embodying the feelings behind them; and why that embodiment is key to manifesting the life you crave. We’ll dive into how your thoughts, beliefs, and energy influence what you attract, and how to identify and begin to question limiting beliefs. This episode is part two of our Clarity Mini-Series. If you haven’t listened to part one, start there. You’ll learn:Why embodying the feeling is more powerful than chasing the outcomeHow to align your thoughts with your desiresWhat beliefs may be blocking your next level and how to shift themA client’s journey from frustration to leadership through aligned energyIf this episode resonates, please subscribe, leave a review, and share it with someone who’s ready to create a life by design.Your Inner Work for This Week:Review your list of desires, pause and tune into your body:Does anything bring up resistance or tension? Is there a voice that says, "That’s too much” or “Who am I to want that?”Look at these responses as invitations to explore and be curious. This is often where a limiting belief is hiding, rooted in past experience, conditioning, or old stories.1. Choose one desire that feels heavy or activating.Ask yourself:What do I believe about this desire? What story am I telling myself about why this isn’t possible for me?Where did that belief come from?2. Begin to question the belief.Use these prompts to poke gentle holes in the story:Is this belief absolutely true? Are there examples, personal or observed, of this not being true? What would change if I chose to believe something new? This is how you begin to rewrite the belief, by collecting evidence that supports your desire despite what you’ve experienced before.3. Embody the new belief.Close your eyes and breathe into the feeling you do want to experience -peace, joy, love, abundance. Repeat to yourself:I’m safe to desire this.My past does not define what’s possible for my future. This is the exact work we do together in The Designed Life private coaching and group mentorship.
